I came into contacted with GE Money through a car finance deal i took approx 11 months ago... even though at the time i was aware the monthly payments were slightly above what i could afford on a monthly basis, my eyes were bigger than my bank account and i took the finance.

Some months later, I contacted GE Money to explain I was finding making payments on my account increasingly difficult and asked my account manager if she could suggest any means for me to over come this difficulty. I was met with a simple ‘no’. I tired to explain to her that this would not help the situation for anyone however she did not see fit to look into the matter.

Eventually I was able to gather the money to clear the full amount on the loan and contacted GE Money by letter,to advise them of same and that they would have the balance of th loan in full in approx 2 weeks, to which i got no reply.

No more than one week later I received a letter from GE Money stating my agreement was terminated. I contacted my account manager the next day querying this letter. She told me that because I was in arrears this letter was sent to me. I asked her why I was not contacted to advise me that regardless of my clearing the account in a matter of weeks this notice was going to be sent to me. I can only say I got no satisfaction from her. She continued to speak over me and did not give me an opportunity to air my grievances over the matter.

She even went as to query where i was getting the money from to clear the account and asked me did i expect her to believe i was in fact going to clear this account. I was gobsmacked... i could not believe my ears... i ended the call and was left in a state of panic and upset.

I have since cleared my loan with GE Money and can only STRONGLY recommend that regardless of how much you love your new car/ tv or whatever it is you crave it is not worth your sanity by dealing with GE Money!

GE Money has be continuously calling my cell phone. All day everyday for about a month now. I have never used a service through them. When they do leave a message it is for a woman named Brittney Jensen. I am not her nor do I know anyone by that name. Also on the message it says you can call them at [protected] or go to the website, , gemoney.com to keep from getting further calls. When you call the number they only want you to enter your account number, Obviously I do not have you so i can not get any further.
This is very annoying. I would really love for this to stop.

My loan just got switched for Citi Financial to GE Money and at first all was well, but they offered this service that I was pre-selected for and was such a great service. Once i got some info on the serivce, I knew that I wasn't interested in it due to the cost. They continued that I could cancel at any time and that I needed to read the info first. My answer yet again, "NOT INTERESTED" after about 2 or 3 minutes I finally got tired of the brow beating and asked her was part of "NO" don't you understand? She continued to try and talk over me while I was speaking, and then hung up on me. Not that it would help, I called back and got another Indian lady and filed a complaint. I knew my financial situation wouldn't warrant their service they were offering, I didn't want to have to call back at a later time to cancel the serivce for a "full money back guarantee" I wanted to say "not interested" and be done with it.

I received a call from a GE Money Customer Service Rep. I had been late on my payment but I was making the payments every month. She was very rude and informed me that if I was late again my account could be turned over to a lawyer to be taken care of, then she hung up before I could ask any questions. Can they do this, I understand I'm late sometimes but I'm in the same money troubles as the rest of the world, my family is now having to live paycheck to paycheck, can this company sue me even if thay are getting there money.

I HAD TO GO THROUGH A DEBT CONSOLIDATION'S COUNSELER, BECAUSE OF GE MONEY!
THEY ARE RELENTLESS, WHEN MONEY IS INVOLVED THEY WANTED ME TO PAY OVER
$800.00. IN FULL ! WHEN I TOLD THEM IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE OF MY FINANCIAL
STATUS. THEY REFUSED TO LISTEN, WHEN I ASKED WHY IT WAS SO HIGH ? CONSIDERING
I HARDLY USED MY PENNEY'S CARD, THEY CLAIMED IT WAS OF INTERESTS AND PENELTIES
AND A HIDDEN INSURANCE FEE ON THE CARD. AGAIN THEY DEMANDED I EITHER PAID $78
TO $80 PARTIAL PAYMENTS BUT THEY PREFERED THE FULL AMOUNT. AGAIN I EXPLAINED
I COULDN'T PAY THAT, THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS WHO KEPT HERASSING ME FOR
THE MONEY! THAT IS WHEN I HAD TO TURN TO HELP, BECAUSE I WAS GETTING NOWHERE!
BUT AT FIRST THEY MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR TO HER TO PAY, SO THERE WAS ROAD BLOCK
AFTER ROAD BLOCK. BETWEEN ALL FOUR COMPANIES MY BILL IS OVER $ 800.00!

I planned to purchase a laptop from eBuyer and took the "buy now pay later" scheme. I applied for credit via "Able to buy" and incidentally it went to GE Money. When I got the terms and conditions I decided not to sign the agreement and canceled my order with eBuyer. Now the interesting bit, 9 months on they are still hassling me to pay money and sending me statements which I shouldn't be receiving as I have never taken any credit from them. They are continuously hassling me and sending me statements showing overdues, late payment charges etc.

Honestly, I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone to even think of applying any credit card, loans etc with them.

*** BE AWARE***.

I want to know what has happened to "customer service"? And why do I always have to speak to some foreigner who can barely get a word of english out of their mouths? I am fed up with our American companies sending thier work overseas to be done by other countries. Where is the security in all of this? When I call c/s, first of all, I expect to speak to a human NOT a recording, and then I expect to speak to an American who actually speaks English, NOT some Mexican or Indian who can barely speak a single word of English, and then has the gall to tell me they can't understand me! We wonder why the economy in America is crumbling, well WAKE UP! Quit sending jobs overseas to other countries. Keep them here in our country so OUR citizens can keep their jobs. I don't care if those other countries work for pennies, I don't care about their economy. I care about MY country and my economy.

Purchaased an airconditioner through a local company who finances through GE Money. Credit Card was for 12 mos no interest. we recieved our 1st bill and that was it. we called GE monthly asking for statements and each time they verified our address, ss# and personal info. 8 months later we still ahve recieved no bills. contact the company several time and they stated our address was incorret-not ture if they verified this previouselu. we are now approaching out 12 mo limit and the will not bill us, thus GE will now be able to bill us for the back interest rate. Hire a lawyer i did!

I have been getting numerous calls from GE Money on my home phone for about 10 days now, 10 to 12 calls a day, even on SUNDAY! I don’t answer these calls as ALL my bills are paid on time, every month! They never left a message.

Finally I got fed up with seeing they had been calling and turned my home phone ringer off, I then called the number from the caller ID and got the credit department at JC Penney. I ended up talking to THREE people before getting an “account specialist”. All had India accents.

I told the man that they could clearly see my account has been paid ON TIME, EVERY MONTH. He confirmed this, and he said “is it possible you have someone else on your account using your card”? Ummm…no. I check my statement every month. He said it was possible someone else is using my home number as their contact. I then asked the man to PLEASE check his records by searching my home number to make sure my account is the ONLY account registered to the phone number. He told me he couldn’t give me that information. I protested telling him I wanted the calls to stop, that he could see that my account is CURRENT and NOT past due, and to PLEASE get to the bottom of the issue and find out why they are calling me. I do think someone used MY number as their contact, and their account is past due, thus the calls.

The man promised me that the calls would stop.

A half hour later I saw that they once again had called! If it continues I will send them a certified letter via snail-mail demanding they stop with dates and time I *tried* to get this issue resolved. If that fails I will be contacting the F.T.C.

I frankly told the man that I would be scouring my credit and there had better not be anything false or wrongly added to my credit file because someone is using my home number for their delinquent JC Penney charge account. The man told me they don’t report to credit bureaus accounts based on phone numbers.

I just hope I am not a victim of identity theft.

GE MONEY is the worst company you can ever get involved with. They lack respect for their customers. Regardless of what the situation is they are highly unprofessional. They will go out of business. Just a matter of time until people stop using their overrated credit cards.

I have a car loan, my business collapsed, got some jobs then was out of work and now in a steady job again. Paying for my car loan was and is a struggle. However I have been able to pay in bits and pieces. Lately again in November 2010 I got another notice of Termination from them demanding my 40K car back that is paid off 3/4 now. The amount outstanding was 252 Euros and 62 Euros charges! That's all. I have been in regular contact with them and they were aware of my problems and approved me paying in smaller amounts. I was advised not to exceed arrears over and above my monthly charge of ±640 Euros which I succeeded in doing and still this demand. An awful company to deal with. They should be there for us, a services company! NO we are there only to make them rich, they don't care about me nor you! Bewarned!

I have been a 5 year customer of GE/Care Credit. I have never been late on any payments with them or any other lender. A couple of months ago I received a letter from them stating that due to my credit they were going to raise my % to 29.9. I called them up to find out what they were referring to about my credit as its better than it was when I got the loan from them. They said they couldnt go into details but that my credit was risky and there was nothing they could do. I had been working on my credit (bad divorce) for two years and had just accessed all three of my credit reports not more than 3 months earlier. Needless to say I bit the bullet and closed my account even though it would not look good on my credit. I then preceeded to go to my local credit union who refianced my vehicles where I used my equity to pay off GE at 5.29%. Not bad for someone with bad credit. But all of this is not the complaint. They took the check my bank sent to them for full payment and cashed it but they did not stamp the back of the check. I found this out because I received another bill from them almost 3 weeks later showing nothing had been paid. I called them, which as you know is not an easy task, where they told me that they had received no check and that if I did not make the payment due that they would report it to the credit bureaus. WOW... Of course I called my bank who gave me a print out of the MoneyGram, which shows that they cashed the check and received the money right after I had made my monthly payment for August. I have submitted this proof to the fax number they provided, mailed it to both address's and had my bank fax it to them as well. Im afraid to over pay them as Im sure I will not ever see that money again. I have never had this kind of trouble paying off a debt. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Tamisa

They hire the rudest individuals in the credit verification department. Childish really. I have fraud alert set by an identity theft protection company and they were assisting me in finding the correct department for verification. We get there, the one gal does her spiel in what they do, and the lady at GE rudely states "I'm not talking to you". I get that, but she never asked the other party to disconnect. I state that I'm trying to figure out why they didn't call me on my alert number, and they rudely reply that I need to call them, and that my number doesn't match what they have on file. I stated that they never provided me the number to call. They said they left me a message with the number. I snapped back "so you did call me" she didn't answer. The third party then asks what number I should call. GE Money ### then says "I'm not talking to you". I then ask the same question and she provided me the number. The third party asks what credit bureau I would need to contact in case some weird error is happening, and again she snottily says "I'm not talking to you". I repeat the question and she tell me Equifax. Honestly I give permission for the 3rd party to hear and speak, why play this game? If they aren't allowed to speak why not ask me to call back or state that the third party cannot stay on the line.

This is the third time I had to call them, and honestly not by choice as I purchase equipment through Sony and need financing, which brings me to GE. They are childish, snotty, and should generally not be on the phone.

I advise anyone to NOT DO BUSINESS with GE MONEY BANK (also associated with CARE CREDIT). I had medical problems and signed up to help pay towards the medical bills. I almost had the bill paid off and I didn't pay it in time for them to dump on a $400 finance charge. I called Customer Service (if you can call it that) absolutely no help, so then was transfered to an 'Escalating Specialist' who was very rude and absolutely NO help at all. There is No one to speak to with this company who will even work with you.

I have paid what was due, yet they still continue to charge me late fees, and harrassing phone calls. I don't want to ever have anything to do with them Ever again!

Unfortunately if you are reading this, you have probaly been screwed by them too. I wish I would have known how horrible of a company they are. They are scammers! Taking advantage of people in need. These are hard times and we don't need this kind of treatment.

I agree that the this company's customer service (non-exsistant) is one of the worst that I have ever encountered with any business. I have a government purchasing job and I do a hell of a lot of business with online vendors and customer service representatives and I have never, NEVER, run across a company with such a rude, non-customer friendly, in your face attitude towards the very people who keep their butts in business. How freaking arrogant can one CEO and customer service manager be towards their customer's? It's a damn insult!

First Complaint: I made a payment of $225.00 which reflects as "posted to my bank account" on 16 Mar 2009, meaning they have my payment money there. Now, here it is 24 Mar 09 and it still hasn't shown up on my account and these idots are telephoning me because I haven't made a payment, WHAT?. What the hell does the accounts receivable accountant do around there all day? Who the hell is posting the books? This is totally unacceptable business accounting practicies in my estimation.

Second Complaint: I have tried for 5 days straight to contact GE Money on the phone to pay off the balance and terminate my account with this irresponsible company. It's next to impossible (if not impossible since I've never been able to reach a live person) to get to talk with a customer service person. If someone knows how to get past the damn automated telephone system to talk to anyone, I'm open to suggestions.

Third Complaint: I've tried and tried to login to my account online and the stupid thing say "The information you provided doesn't match our records", Imagine that? Let's see, my SSN, my telephone number, my date of birth hasn't changed in 50 some odd years, how the hell does it not match their records? How about unqualified employees doing the data input?

At first I thought I was just getting all steamed up over nothing, then I went to the complaints page and low and behold, there's many more customers experiencing like problems with this company.

This is totally unacceptabel to me as a customer in good standing. This is how people's credit gets stained and their score get dropped. All because some incompetant, uncaring companies like this one think they're too damn good to answer a phone and personaly take care of customers. How Rude can one company be? GE Money obviously doesn't care if they drive away a customer?

I will be paying off the charge I created for the purchase of a new set of tires and then I'm going to cut there damn card in such small pieces that it'll look like sand.

If GE Money cares anything about keeping repeat customers, the first thing they need to do is rip that damn phone system out of the wall and throw it in the dumpster, the second thing would be to fire the customer service manager since they obviously haven't got a clue as to what good customer service is, and get back to the basics of good ol' person to person customer service. And lastly, get rid of the CEO and the accounting manager and get someone in there who is customer oriented.

I highly recommend that if any of you who are considering financing ANYTHING with this company and you have any other alternative at your disposal for obtaining credit for your purchases, use it! Stay the hell away from these people and let their stupidity and their beloved phone answering system sink their own ship.

A Highly Dis-satisfied customer!

GE Money stands for Get Everyone's Money. One rip-off nasty company. They are out to loot customers and destroy their credit scores. I wish the lawmakers of the land could close down these unethical companies, rather than support them with more money from the taxpayers aka 'stimulus plan' or TARP. Just as I hate nationalising any business, it pains to see a group of rip off companies thrive on unassuming customers and then ask for taxpayer money when they are in trouble themselves.

File complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

GE Money abuses its customers. And you have to report them so the US Government can go after them.

If you are paying they cannot sue, they can try - but if you show up with proof of payments made even late - showing you have been paying it there is not much they can legally do.

I've had issues too. They kept giving me the run around. I asked for the contact info for their headquarters, and would only give me a PO box in El Paso. I asked were the customer service dept that I called was located, and they said it was in Arizona. Fine. I just researched myself and got the contact info. The legal dept is also located here if you want to file suit and serve them.

GE Money is a horrible company to deal with. When you call you are hold for a long time. When they do answer, you get someone from India who doesn't speak good enough english to hold a conversation. When you ask to be transferred to a state-side english speaking person they oblige you but you are on hold for a long time. When you finally get the "friendly American" they simply say "NO" and tell you they can't help you. Horrible company to work with. No matter what kind of load you are in need of, go anywhere else. Do NOT use GE MONEY or you will pay ... literally.

I had a 0% 4 year loan. Because of a President's Day holiday my payment was processed one day late. The penaly? 29% interest for the next 30 months plus if you don't pay your newly escalated monthly payment it will cost you a cool $39 for the priviledge.

Just say "NO" to GE MONEY.

The same thing happended to my husband and I. We took out a loan for a motorcycle for low interest rate. Missed one payment and interest was raised to 26.99%! Paid off the loan with another loan that was lower interest rate. During this time I noticed that GE had been charging my account $99 a month for Debt Security. I did not notice this on my statements (my fault) as I paid online each month. When I called to question them about it, I was given the run-around and transferred to three different departments. They stated they could prove I enrolled as they had my signature. Funny how my copy of the contract shows this line BLANK! I emailed, faxed, sent letter showing this as proof that they illegal charged my account and requested a refund for $1, 700. Needless to say, they are ignoring my requests for a refund. I am now forced to retain an attorney to settle this.

Had I known that GE Money was the bank I would not have done business with them. This company is notorious for unethical business practices. The customer service reps are rude, but that's company training. Their business ethics leave little to be desired. Unfortunately, GE MOney preys on those individuals that might not be able to get a loan from a more reputable company with better business ethics and customer service!

I will keep you posted via this website on outcome of this situation.

I just had a terrible experience with GE call centre. I set up a direct debt last month through their call centre but was surprised because the money was not taken from my account to pay for my BHS card. When I phoned them a guy there accused me of lying, although in not so many words. He refused to put me through to his manager saying that there is nothing to discuss. This is the most unpleasant conversation I had with a call centre in my life.

On Sunday 10/02/2008 around 1400 hrs I applied for a finance option “Buy now pay nothing for 6 months – Interest Free” at Comet store (Lakeside Retail Park) for a HP Laptop pricing around £755. The finance got declined straight away. The sales person gave me a leaflet for credit history check through Experian. I am already registered with Experian and have my credit history details with very good credit scoring and with no negative issues and missing of any payments. But still I was declined with GE Capital.

According to Experian I have right to ask for explanation for the reason of this decision. Can you please give details of your criteria and why I was declined?

The above appeal letter was sent to GE on 15.02.07 at address APPEAL OFFICE, GE MONEY, PO BOX 109 LEEDS LS27 0BD given by GE customer services on phone. But have no reply from them. Then i called customer services again and they said that i sent the appeal letter to wrong address. They gave me another address.
Again second time i sent the letter on 27.02.08 at address GE MONEY, APPEAL DEPT, TRENT HOUSE, TORRE ROAD, LEEDS, LS99 2BD given by customer service but unfortunately no reply from the Appeal Department. I again called customer services spending so much money on 0870 number and this time i spoke to a gentleman named SAM (SANCHIT) in the call centre. He said i have again sent the appeal letter to wrong address and gave me new address GE MONEY, PO BOX 700, LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE, LS99 2BD.

I am very very dissappointed that i have been misguided again and again by customer services. I didn't expect that GE will have such unprofessoinal customer service with cannot give correct information.

Now this will be the third time i am sending the appeal letter on 19.03.08 and i hope i will not be disappointed this time and will get back appropriate and quick reply. Otherwise i will have to take legal steps against GE Money.

I recently purchased a motorcycle for my son in Jan. 07.When we purchased the motorcycle we were told it was a fixed paymentof 69.00 a month no matter what.Well that was not the case.We were 2 days late with the 1st payment and then our payment shot up to 129.00 a month.I could not afford that. So we got further behind on our payments. When we got to a point when we got the account up to date we were told that they would reinstate the promotional rate and give us the 69.00 a month like it was agreed. But that was a lie also. We keep getting harrassed everyday about making that payment that we cannot afford. When I called and talked with customer service about it, I was first hung up on, then I called back they put me on hold forever so I hung up and called back.I talked with another customer service person and he told me that if I make the 129.00 payment the next payment would most definitely be 69.00. although that was not the case I received my next month statement and it had increased to 166.00! So I called again about the payment, the person I talked with told me that whatever I was told was not true, but I know what this person told me.I ask him was their phones not monitored? He said yes and I told him he needed to go back to that day and listen to the conversation. He refused.I have never been so rudely spoke to and harrassed by this company.I will tell anyone I speak to not to use a credit card from them. They are liars and thiefs.I am currently seeking a lawyer about this, because it says on the back of their statements that if you are not satisfied with their services you may not be liable for any remaining balance on the account. And that is for sure!

DO NOT get credit through these people. I have never had such a bad customer service experience. I have proof of each time I've sent a copy of my cleared check and they still tell me I've never sent it and they can't post a payment until I send it. Not to mention they don't know what they're talking about. One rep will tell you one thing and another will say something else. I had a rep tell me that they received my payment and the site just needed to be updated, then I called later, and was told they never received my payment. I've filed a complaint with the BBB, which coincidentally they didn't respond to until I filed a complaint with the Attorney General.
