I stopped paying on my G.E. Care Credit Card when I saw they were not applying my payments as requested. This caused me to not have my Special Purchases payed in time to not have interest due. There are more reasons I stopped paying(financial hardship which too many of us are facing). I am simply tired of the mind set of the company and its GREED. As expected it has become an endless period of calls from them, and a company that was helping to collect the debt. G.E. Money assured me there was NO other company involved. I have the letter head from that collection agency naming G.E. Money as the party that employed them. After that collection agency called using an auto dialer an average of 15 times in 9 hours causing the phone to ring repeatedly without the intent of having a conversation I filed a complaint with the F.T.C. and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. That put an end to those calls. Now G.E. Money calls, I answer, and am disconnected an average of 3 times an hour! Being the Parent Loaning Company I believe they can blatantly violate new legislation more easily. They use people from India that I can barely understand, and that are tooooooo busy trying to read their script, resulting in them interrupting and overtalking me and I end up laughing and hanging up. It took me months to get used to the ever continuing calls and then being hung up on. Their mind games will not win here. I am looking into filing a suit against G.E. Money, but doubt that will get results due to the lobbying power of the financial groups on the Hill. G.E. Money Bank has been the target of MANY Public Broadcast Topics that expose their, at best, very questional practices. I would lean to using the word EVIL. With the way some are responding to agencies like the I.R.S. and the man who flew his plane into their building, I would think G.E. Money Bank would be looking out for their antics to cause someone to snap and devestate a few of their sites. Fortunatly I do not believe violence should be used, but I am sure some have no qualms. Wake up G.E. Money Bank. I could go on with many tales of the Financial Industry but will see how this post is responded to first. Thank you.

That might be so...BUT...I believe that I can use the violations of the 3rd party collectors to off-set ALL my bills and even make some money. If they can be held liable and I can PROVE it I think I can get $1, 000 a pop on the infractions. I will see. I already got FMS and I.C. Systems in a bunch of hot water:) Look up those collection agencies and see their record and the attitude of THE PEOPLE. I have stood against the Government before and won...I will stand firm now.

p.s. Even though some signed a contract with T-Mobil and paid a $200 early disconnect whether they had 1 month left or 10 months left on their account, the ones that fought it are recieving up to $125 back for the bad business practices of T-Mobil(sense would dictate that the disconnect be pro-rated...not just a greedy practice...and if it does not make sense it usually is wrong!). I am one of those that fought and I am getting a check for $125. So...IMHO...WE can fight, even tho WE signed a contract, against bad practices of the ones with alot of power on the Hill:)...it just takes time and a strong resolve my Friend.

After reading things closer I had to write again. I am wondering how much you have studied the recent FDCPA and the FTC laws, rules on collections? I will only address one of a few things in what you wrote at this time. I can address the others if you want. If the plaintiff (the lender) missed one court appearance(without a continuation...and they usually only get one of those), why did you not petition the court for a default judgement in your favor, or for the lender's claim to be dismissed? If you had failed to appear the lender sure would have gotten a default judgement against you! If you want I can go into a little detail on some things you could have went through without a lawyer to get more "looked at" in your case to help you. BUT...if you CAN pay...you should. If you are on a few programs and below the poverty level(usually 150% below it is safe)...you can file forms documenting things...and if you have nothing to take, garnish, sell, put a lien on, etc...you might..MIGHT...really be to poor to pay the debt due to a significant change in your financial ability. That would need be discussed and acurately documented and looked hard at...so if you did not want to be under the microscope...you might not want to do that. So..if you CAN pay...YES...DO SO. If not...FIGHT! Paladin

Thank you for your comments Mica. No, I am not a self taught internet guru on these things. That is why I have done as I could, and now have a geat attorney that eats simple minded people like you and their companies up..LOL..Creditors Rights? After they are calling from a one party state and it is recorded legally(But I guess you know of a way I am wrong huh?)and there are hours of recordings with 3 calls in an hour? Is that appropriate action for your collectors to take? NO. I also have rights, and as you suggested I will get the ones I need to play hard ball with the collectors. Have already done it..and will post after it is won...even if it takes years:) SO MICA..why not post your definitive rules of Law that make my comments truly absurd and wrong? Can you do it..lol.. I challenge you to post a few! "kind who search for any reason to circumvent their responsibilities to paying their debts." Lay out what you know. Lets see it!

P.S. yes, the FDCPA and FTC might be a delusional entity with apparently no teeth to stop the harassment of collectors. Unfortunatly the new laws do not even provide for much action against the origonal lenders. I am glad to see there is allways ONE that works for the collectors that tries to stop others from being educated, making it sound impossible, and hoping more will bow down and just let them be trampled. Hope to see YOU in court:)

had to add a few..lol..so Mica...If you had read closer and saw I said if you can pay..PAY..you do not even know me or any situations that are deemed to be helped...kinda like bank bailouts that ..ummm..errr, what did we do with that money? LOL. You spew out the junk you are fed from your supossed mentors. Post some things and lets dance my Friend..LOL.

After thinking a little more Mica, you must have learned the BAD technique of your mentors, in that you post this..."Paladin, you appear to be one of those self-taught, internet educated people living in a dreamworld. The kind who search for any reason to circumvent their responsibilities to paying their debts. I work for a creditor's rights law firm which specializes in suing people exactly like you. Judging by the comments in your initial complaint and your delusional conception of the FDCPA, you seem to have already convinced yourself that you can beat the courts and the attorneys representing your creditors." This post is simply trying to belittle me, demean me, and make me feel inferior, stupid, and simply not possible to do anything to improve my situation within the LAW. I saw no mention of LAW from you. Just ATTACKS on ME!. So let's dance Grasshopper. Post something credible, and stop with the usuall tactics of the collectors (that they have been doing for years) and do not attack ME, but what I say. I suggest you go back to the phone room and let the big shots handle the replies..LOL! Yours Truly,
Waiting to hear something of substance

Hi tjosette...All I can say is be an educated, responsible debtor. Once you know what the collectors can LEGALLY do, then stand up for yourself or be run over. The courts, banks, and Lobbyists on the Hill have more money in this than any of us could get together. Be sure when, if, you go to court...that you have all kinds of paper and conversations that have been documented by a third party. be sure, YOU do not just try to sway the court with your verbal material and paperwork. YOU must submit an avidavit and be a WITNESS. (I bet mica differs..LOL) You need have others witness the things the collectors do, subpoena them if they are reluctant to help you(but be sure they will help before doing that)and be aware that the laws do not completely protect US from the ORIGONAL lender...but mainly against the unscrupulous third party collectors. Be sure not to believe MUCH the collectors say. They will try all kinds of ludicrous things that if you allow, they will do. Become a little self educated, and as Mica says, when you need help...GET IT! ANYTHING SAID HERE IS NOT ADVICE FROM AN ATTORNEY OR ANYONE LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW, OR ADVISE ANYONE. You can write your own "Cease and Desist" letters, "Debt Validation" letters agains dunning letters, and many more things! Be ready to be taken to court, and have a "Letter of Protection" set up, an "Answer" to the court, and other things. Be prepared and knowledgeable...file on time and properly...send things registered mail and receipt requested! KEEP EVERYTHING! Hope a little bit here helps. Remember, I am not an attorney advising anyone. Thank you.(Sneers for mica..LOL)

Paladin, it seems like you know the legal aspect of a lot of thing things that GE MONEY is doing wrong in this case..I unfortunately have very slim knowledge in legal terms of all the things that they are in the wrong of..it just simply to me and most of the complaints made on this site by the customers..doesn't make any sense.

I am helping my mom with a situation involving GE MONEY/CARE CREDIT. She recently asked me for help when things became overwhelming and she couldn't handle it for herself.

The thing is, they are IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of on the phone, on their website, and they never respond to emails. It takes 30 minutes to just get through to a customer service rep and then after that..they pretend they understand and are talking to you and once things get to a more challenging or difficult situation they just hang up. This company is unbelievable...how can this be stopped or how can we fight this? This has to be something that every struggling customer of GE MONEY/CARE CREDIT can do..

My mother is not a native english speaker, so I am helping to try and understand the way GE MONEY/CARE CREDIT get away with this kind of mob-style so called business. I just don't get how after seeing so many posts on this site (many even from a few years back) that this company hasn't been sued and out of the reach of the vulnerable, mis-led customers.

What can I do to help my mom in this situation? BTW, if you think that this is one of the worst things that can happen..we are dealing with 4 additional credit card identity theft cases along with this.. people, please be aware of what you're signing and just be sure that anything you sign for or give your personal information is trustworthy.

I hope that each of you will get through this and stay positive.

I was a customer of Care Credit also known as Ge Money I will never use that company again they say one thing and mean another they told me I could make 2 payments in one month and it would be applied to the next month NO THAT WAS A LIE...Now they terminated my deferred payments even thought I was paying 2 payments a month CONSUMER BEWARE that deferred payment is a bunch of crap and so is the company. I have just finished transferring the balance to another card with lower charges...I HATE GE MONEY BANK and all cards like them...

you signed a contract and bowrrowed money frome them. Im sorry but I used to think the same way as you and it caused me nothing but pain and trouble. I hope you learn quicker then I did and all your loans don't go into the 25% intrest range. It takes years of digging once in that hole. There is no way to win other than dropping off the grid or paying up. I have been to court even after two missed 2ed by the credit co. I still had to pay.
Good luck to you.
