GE Cordless Phone / Not charging, even with a new battery

I read with interest the complaint posted on this site regarding a GE digital phone working to just past the store warranty date then not charging, even with a new battery. Mine purchased in 2006 is doing exactly the same thing. After about an hour on the phone with Thompson customer service, I was instructed to send the hand set back. I did. About 3 weeks later I received the very same handset back in the mail, no note, not fixed, nothing.

Unlike the previous complainant, I will not be purchasing another.

    GE Cordless Phone - Really sucks!

    I purchased a GE cordless phone to replace my corded phone and use with my VOIP. It was my fault that I didn't try the phone right away.. I didn't set up the phone till over a month after purchase (too late to return to the store). When I set it up the GE phone wouldn't work at all. I called their absolutely clueless idiot out-sourced customer "lack of" service. They were nothing but frustrating and idiotic.

    After over an hour of time wasted, I emailed GE and explained my frustration and that I found their phone support to be worthless, and asked if they had a US call center that I could call to get assistance. They must have the same out-sourced idiots answering their email, as I got back a email apologizing that I was having difficulty, and suggesting that I call their support line (same number).

    Over the years I have purchased tens of thousands of dollars of GE products. NO MORE. I will never buy from those people again. I gave up and tossed the phone in the trash. Bought a panasonic phone that I love. Don't need the support and If I do, bet it is in the US....
