General Electric refrigerator

My Refrigerator hasn't been working since December 12th, 2017. We have had/called numerous repair guys come to our home from GE appliance. Not one has been able to fix the problem. We have replaced about 5 to 6 parts and there has been no improvement. We've had this fridge for about 3 years. We have tried calling all of your numbers and we can't get a hold of anyone. We bought a cheaper fridge and have it stored it in our garage... kind of a pain. What is the best way about going and solving our problem?

General Electric ge dryer

I purchased my dryer on Aug 17, 2013 from Lowes and took out extended warranty for the first time. 6 months after purchasing my problem begun. I have had it serviced 4-27-14, 10-26-14, 12-27-14, 4-12-16, 3-23-17, 10-16-17, and now waiting again to be serviced again with the same problem. In between all the service dates I have experienced the same problem which is not getting resolved. My dryer will work one day and stop the next or it can go 2 months and just stop again and last for 2 days or more then start working again. This has been on ongoing problem and not been able to get it fixed. My dryer has a mind of its own and I believe or I should say I got a LEMON this time. My dad worked for GE for 50 years thats why I like their products but this one has been a night mare for me. I never know when I do laundry if its going to work or not. I would assume you GE would stand behind your products and issue me a new one to replace it. My 5 year warranty will be up in Aug 2018 and I refuse to continue having it serviced where I have to pay on a defective Dryer. I want a response on what you can do or what your company will do.

Hi Mr. Sanders.

I read your complaint and believe I can be of some assistance.

There should be a couple areas of classification however. To begin with, G. E. appliances is no longer owned the G. E.; they are now part of the Haier company. Second is the type of extended warranty you purchased. This is likely an extended warranty either by or through Lowes. This isn't necessarily bad, but you need to be aware of what entity is handling the warranty coverage. During the first year of warranty, the coverage would have been handled by G. E., afterwords Lowes has determined the path of service. Therefore, you should be addressing your concerns there.

Can you provide the exact model of this dryer? Is it a gas or electric model?

I'm sure we can be of considerable help if you'll let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.

General Electric received defective part

I ordered a Insulation Oven Back (Part #WB35K10012) for my GE Cafe oven on 1/10/18. It arrived on 1/11/18 and upon opening the box the insulation was torn in half, completely unusable (see photo below). This was very unfortunate since the technician was at my house to install the product. I had to reschedule the appointment and return the defective part to GE. The return cost, which I had to pay was $23.00 via FEDEX. Why would GE send a torn defective product and then require the customer to pay the shipping charge? I want GE to refund me the cost for shipping the item back to them.

General Electric ge bottom freezer french door refrigerator in stainless steel

Purchased GE refrigerator for second home from Home Depot. It was delivered one day when only my husband was there. There was a dent in the left side panel of the french door, not seen until two weeks later when I went to the home. NO ONE was there for two weeks after installation. GE says we only have one week to report damage. This is ridiculous, should be case by case for something like this. A beautiful refrigerator and all I can see is this dent. What options do I have?

General Electric microwave/ oven combo unit

This unit is 4 years old. 2 months ago the microwave started overheating so we would shut the breaker off as the microwave would heat when power on.
The oven works just fine. An appliance repair man, familiar with GE appliances said I should replace this model as the motherboard on the microwave is destroyed.
I would like to know if you are able to compensate me in any way. I've never heard of this type of appliance bring broken after barely 4 years of use. A voucher for a replacement is what I am seeking.

General Electric ge hotpoint refrigerator

Model #: PSDF5YGXCFBB
Serial #: RT402212
Install Date: 12-20-10

I understand the warranty has expired but I have had nothing but problems with the same component of frig from not too long after purchase. It would seem a frig, )like the ones made with pride back in the day), would last much longer than 7 yrs. I believe I have been given a frig with a total recall on components having to do with cooling.
Have replaced: Fresh Food Thermister on 3-29-16. Invoice #: 451741
Have replaced: Fresh Food Fan Motor on 10-28-15 Invoice#: 444784
I currently have another request for service with my home warranty for the SAME PROBLEM: frig not cooling.
I would like to talk with someone concerning my problems/faults with my frig at [protected] or [protected].

Very Respectfully,
Barbara White

Hi Barbara.

Appreciated reading your concerns. Unfortunately one of the major changes within the refrigeration category are new power efficiency requirements requiring the compressors top be much smaller. Although these compressors use les energy, they don't last as long. 7 years is a little on the short side. But the days of 20+ years are no longer common.

In replacing your fridge, make sure you provide good air circulation to the compressor area. In addition, I'd have a tenancy to clean the compressor area once or twice a year. These additional steps can assist you in keeping the fridge running as long as possible.

General Electric I am complaining about being charged for next day service and not getting it.

I order a part for my electric range which was the front double burner on 12/28/17. I paid 14.95 for next day delivery. The sales person said I would have it by fedex. I now found that Fedex does not deliver on the weekend. Why am I charge for something that is not going to be deliver until 1/2/18. I would not have taken next day service if it takes almost 5 days to get to me instead of next day. I should be reminberse for that 14.95.

When I called to see why they didn't come and to reschedule I was told I would receive a discount on labor and to talk to tech on 11/22. he said he would talk to his boss and bill us. General Electric refrigerator delivery

I purchased a GE refrigerator from Costco on 11/25/2017. GE Delivery team initially came to say they need to switch to a smaller truck to come up to the drive way. When scheduler called to reschedule, I asked if a smaller truck would come. The scheduler answered "No, it would be same truck". I asked "then how will the truck come up next time if they could not do this time". The scheduler was mad at me for challenging him on this, and refused to give me his name or supervisor's name. From there, they marked my refrig status as "delivered" (and god knows where it is now). When I called Costco, I was told GE can't deliver their refrigerator, and asked me to hall it back myself (from Everett which is one hour away) and GE will come to install. The service request number is [protected].
Request your help to delivery the purchased product as described in the purchase contract. Thank you.

Hi Alpine.

It sounds to me like they just can't provide the service you require. The simple solution is to obtain a refund and purchase somewhere else.

Let us know what you decided.

General Electric ge refrigerator delivery and customer service

I had a Refrigerator delivered two weeks after ordering. We had an unexpected move and needed a refrigerator as soon as possible. We had medication that needed to be refrigerated. After waiting two weeks the delivery on November 27th in the late afternoon by GE Delivery service, left a refrigerator in the middle of my kitchen, without handles or plugging in. Upon further inspection the door was dented in 3 spots. It wasn't noticable under the plastic and was brought to my attention the next day. After my husband plugged it in, after about 10 hours, it started making a clanging noise. I called HOME Depot immediately to have the refrigerator returned on November 30th in the early morning, approximately 52 hours later. Home Depot immediately gave me a number to call which was GE. I had no idea why they did that but since I had never ordered a large appliance before, i called the number. I reached GE Customer Service where i proceeded to tell the woman that I needed the refrigerator picked up because I waited two weeks and I needed a refrigerator immediately for the medication. She proceeded to ignore what i was saying and told me she opened a ticket and would have someone at my home to look at the refrigator the following thursday. I kept telling her that I need the refrigerator picked up, she kept over talking me and telling me she would send someone. The next day my husband went and purchased another refrigerator and had it delivered that evening. After calling GE 3 times, 3 times i was ignored and kept being told a tech was coming the followimg week I was getting so frustrated because after waiting two week for delivery and then another 7 days for a tech, when all i wanted was to return the refrigerator. I have this refrigerator in my kitchen which i will be disputing the charges and not paying for it. GE delivery Service and the woman they have working in their customer service department are the rudest, most ignorant women i have every encountered in all my years of buying products.

I Need to have this refrigerator picked up immediately and issued a refund. The way that general electric does business is just shameful.

Hi. I'm glad to make your acquaintance. Hopefully I can give you some insight to help you out, even though I fear you may not agree with the ultimate outcome.

Your complaint is directed toward G.E. being the brand of fridge you purchased. Whereas you called Home Depot too return said fridge, I think it would be safe to assume that is where you made the purchase.

This becomes important as that is the entity you have the purchase agreement with. What G.E. was attempting to do is come out to determine any problem(s). In order to facilitate an exchange or return, you need to write directly with Home Depot.

I fear you've 'jumped the gun' by simply buying a second fridge. Your assumption is that you'll be able to use the bank to dispute the transaction and force a return. With all honest respect, this may very well not be likely. There are certain regulations that are in play and the banks have to abide by them to.

Initially the bank will have you fill out a charge dispute and the bank will TEMPORARILY remove the transaction while they investigate. If the bank finds you're still obligated to pay for the fridge, especially whereas it's never been returned, they may likely place the charge back.

Please follow up with us on this. I'd really like to know how things turn out for you.

General Electric dishwasher purchased from home depot

I have a dishwasher that hasn't worked since late September. Originally the dishwasher wouldn't' drain and leaked. It took six service calls to fix this problem. After this problem was fixed the dishwasher ran once and completely shut down. I have had two additional service calls for this problem and have a third service appointment scheduled for Thursday 12/7. The dishwasher was under the manufacturer's warranty when the problems started. I also have an extended warranty that I purchased from Home Depot. If the dishwasher cannot be fixed this Thursday the dishwasher should be replaced. The dishwasher also has done damage to the floor underneath the dishwasher. For this I was referred to GE's claim insurance company, Sedgwick and Mark Siverthorne [protected]). He says before he can fix my floor he needs the parts responsible for the leaking. Ridiculous because they were thrown away.

General Electric knob and clip asm

These twist knobs are for a GE washer and dryer. GE uses the same knobs for all settings on. Since buying the appliances we have gone through hundreds of these knobs. Often we replace the knob and after the first use it cracks and must be replaced. We keep about 10 knobs for replacement at any given order just to make it through the next month or so. I am so frustrated with the poor quality of plastic used in this product. The knob cracks in the back where it is inserted onto a metal D shaped shaft that sets the heating time. Your product (175D3296P001 or SH940A) needs to be remanufactured!

I am by far from a fan of G.E. washing machines. They are by far the worst laundry manufacturers within the industry. Unfortunately their knobs are similar to those many other brands use. I might suggest taking one of these knobs to the retailer you purchased the units through and compare them to other units. Once you find a compatible, entirely metal knob, you can replace them.

General Electric three week old monogram oven zet1phss quit working during first cleaning

Purchased a new $4000 Monogram oven three weeks ago. It was installed and working perfectly. In fact we were so happy at first we used it daily. Yesterday we decided to try its first three hour cleaning. An hour after starting it, I told my wife it smells like electrical burning. Being a fireman for twenty years I know the smell. Looked at the oven and it had an error code of F96. Looked it up and found it was something to do with the internal cooling fan. The oven was so hot on the face that you couldn't even touch it. I put temperature probe on the surface and it was 151 degrees. Seeing how wood begins to char 120-150 seems rather unsafe as well as a fire hazard. I'm lucky one of my children didn't touch the oven otherwise i'm sure it would have resulted in a second degree burn. Contacted GE immediately, I was told I needed to service the brand new unit. I asked for an exchange and they refused. Contacted the store I purchased it from and they refused an exchange stating GE had to service it. Needless to say GE Monogram rep had scheduled an emergency service for today from 8-12pm. I took the day off unpaid and no one showed. Contacted the service company and they said GE doesn't schedule their service calls. Now I have to wait a week for someone to come look at it. $4000 oven that sits inoperable. Called Monogram today and pleaded with the guy to allow an exchange. He said the store can do it they need to contact GE themselves and get an authorization. I called the store and they said not true. I'm seriously so unhappy with GE and their reps don't know what the left hand is doing from the right. I hope this is resolved soon as the holiday season is here and I need an oven. I will never buy another GE appliance again after this.

Hi Randall.

Appreciated reading your complaint. It would only seem reasonable that before an exchange was even considered, they'd want someone to come out and diagnose the issue.

Monogram is pretty massive equipment and moving it is no easy task. It may be the best solution for everyone involved.

Hi Robert.

Hopefully we can be of some help.

G.E. is actually one of the best reviewed consumer ranges in the market. Unfortunately there's a percentage of problems that may occur in any product. Whereas you've only had the product for two days, contact the retailer you purchased it through and they should easily be able to facilitate an exchange.

Many thanks for the post.

General Electric washer

We bought a washing machine last March, and less than a year, we already have problem with it . First of all, the machine makes so much noise, and it vibrates so aggressively that it leaves marks on my walls on the first day... There are definitely something wrong with this model. We have used less then 30 times the washer, and now the guy who came to repair the machine told us that the motherboard has to be replaced... Also the technician who came to do the repair was so rude . He told my parent that they were liars, that we tried to scam him with a fake purchase bill . seriously, what kind of service is that.

General Electric ge spectra glass top stove-white

I purchased this stove a few years back and have used the self-cleaning process two or three times. The first time, I noticed the top of the oven door apparently was a bit scorched. This last time, yesterday, November 22, 2017, the top of the stove door and down onto the front of the door, was actually brown, as you can see from the photos attached.

I would like someone to come and clean this stove or I would like a new stove. I realize it is no longer under warranty, but this is totally unacceptable. If cleaning the oven can burn the outside of the stove, it cannot be safe to use.

Hi Janie.

Appreciate your comments. The reason there was no 'scorched' marks with the initial cleanings is because it's the burnt off grease that causes the discoloration. Manufactures warranties generally never cover cosmetic issues, but an extended warranty may. Call the retailer you purchased the unit through.
