I was scammed by a company going by the name of gay options .com in the Washington D.C. area. It is a company that was advertising to set up dates with nice people for gays. They send out a contract and you pay for their services up front. They explain that they have all kinds of matches for you in your area. They take your money and you don't hear from them unless you call their toll free number. Th.ey do not deliver on their contracts They cammed me for 2995 dollars and I have not recieved anything from them except one contact 200 miles away by phone. Please help and advise. Their toll free number is [protected] or [protected]. Thanks for any help. Is their a number I can call for help? Ken Wood [protected] is my contact.

I've been a $4, 000 member for two years and have had ONE date! The first "match" was 250 miles away despite my criteria of no mor than 50 miles. When I declined it the " matchmaker" got mad! After that-- crickets! Nothing! When I called 3 months later they conveniently were "working on my profile" and came up with a match. He was so far from what I specified it was painful. Married to his mother, way taller than my requirements and quite frankly, hideous... Then nothing for a year until, yet again I called to ask what was happening. Of course, it was my problem as I was too " restrictive" in what I wanted... Again, magically they came up with another "match". In our initial phone call it was clear he was mentally ill. When I reported my concern I got NO response from the service I paid $4, 000!. Fast forward- 1 year later I call and politely ask why I haven't heard from them... Himming and hawing- again- my fault, profile too restrictive! So I went through the questionnaire AGAIN- got a "match" two weeks later, agreed to it though he is older than my requirements and 2 weeks have gone by and I've heard from no one... For the record, I am successful, grounded, handsome and fit and my friends wonder why I've even resorted to using a service- it's a time issue. Thought options was, well- a good option. Wrong. I haven't spoken with my initial " matchmaker" I was promised would be dedicated to me when I signed up since I called after a year, she answered the phone, I identified myself and she acted like she didn't know me until I called her out! Waste of money, they should be ashamed of themselves, I am pursuing legal action. Stay away!

I agree. I just joined and they are totally ridiculous. They didn't have any of my information right as to what I was looking for in a mate, and they were so nasty on the phone. They keep mentioned basic VS VIP members and how they cater to the VIP folks. I am very unhappy with this service. Has anyone complained or tried to get their money back?

I was also scammed by this company. I signed up with Gay Options in September and it is now July (10 months) and I have not yet received a single introduction. I specifically asked, before joining, if they have a large enough database of women in my area to match me with. They assured me, many times, that matching me would be the easiest thing in the world; they had SO many women who would be perfect for me. They said I would be an especially easy client because I'm femme, I have a doctoral degree, I'm in shape, I'm attractive, etc. They said that some have a hard time being matched because they are butch or overweight but, for those who are femme and attractive, it's a piece of cake. Well, apparently not-- because they're not a matchmaking service. They're a scam. But, I didn't know that when I signed up-- so, when they told me matching me would be easy-- and they gave me "descriptions" of the members in their database-- educated, attractive, successful, feminine-- I decided to give it a shot. So, I paid my money--- and nothing. I've called them a few times and, each time, they come up with an excuse (the woman we were about to match you with just deactivated her account because she met someone) or (the matchmaker working on your case suggested a match, but I vetoed it because I think we can find better for you; you'll be hearing from us shortly) or (just give us more time; you're our top priority). Yeah, right. I hope the BBB shuts them down.

I must agree with the person who filed the complaint, and why do I have the feeling that the person who submitted the comment of praise is somehow connected with Gay Options? I have had only two introductions since November (it is now set to become June), and both were guys COMPLETELY opposite to what I had asked for: I wanted someone of Mediterranean or Latin background, and was given two guys of Nordic ancestry. One was short and pencil thin, the other was too tall and very overweight, and losing his hair to boot. Both were in the academic profession, and I, as an academic, wanted someone outside that profession. I was told that it was good to "at times explore possibilities outside of the box". Excuse me, but if I order seafood in a restaurant, I do not want steak to be brought to me because the chef thought it was best that I eat and think outside of the box! There are two things going on here: one, this service does not have a lot of people in their database, and two, they purposely give you unacceptable matches so that you will sign up again in the hope of getting the guy whom you want, which of course will never happen. And, yes, they never call you, you have to call them. Stay away from Gay Options!

I totally disagree.

I had a wonderful experience with Options (and their entire staff) and I am with the love of my life today because of them. We have been going strong for over five years now and had it not been for Options, we both know that we would never have met. Options encouraged us to open up on our distance requirement and we both reluctantly agreed. And BINGO it worked!

We're both fully aware to this day that the inconvenience of traveling at the start of our relationship made it all worthwhile for the end result. Thank you again Options.
