I used to work for this company and trust me you don't want to take your child or yourself to this company for any kind of lessons. The company rents out public and private pools and they offer swimming, basketball, soccer, and tennis lessons. It seems like they give lessons for cheap, but the reason for that is that they don't keep the water clean or at a comfortable temperature for there employees or there customers. They don't maintain the bathroom and changing rooms. When you demand that they keep it clean they just say it is not there responsibility since they rent out these facilities. But they don't make the effort to tell the facility manager to keep it clean either. If you care at all about your children don't make them swim in these polluted and disgusting pools. They will get sick! Trust me that is just the tip of the iceberg. One of the pools they rented out had the roof cave in after they were told several times to do something about it. They didn't and then when it did all the people that were registered at this location were forced to go to a different location and take their child out of the lessons. What kind of company does something like that. I'll tell you! A shady one! If you ever do business with them you will see what I'm talking about. They are very disorganized! I hope you find this post and do not waste your time. Please spread the word!

These post must be really old. I agree the bathroom of the pools are not the greatest but the new management has made a lot of improvements. My kid and many of her classmates went to Bayside High School for swim lessons. She finished all the swim levels and is currently on the Gatewayves Swim Team. They definitely restructured and revamped the programs at Gateway.
This post must have been before the new managerial improvements. Gateway has improved a lot from its younger years and have developed into a great community program for the youth. They now operate out of nearly 20 locations in the metropolitan area, Albany, Connecticut, and New Jersey and have a reputable relationship with all the communities their programs are in.
The worst basketball league ever created. Hoops that are used so much they're about to break off. the coaches come in while smoking ugh! its smellssss terrible and bathroom is not functional. Only 5 out of 8 baths work here in Douglaston. All the stuff is rented so u break something u pay for it. Half the workers are crooks. Its so unsanitary there, ur kids will get sick! I can understand that parents with 2 or more kids want the kids taught in the same day, but trust me, u will be sending them to a place like a prison.
Same. The water's cold, so is the locker room. The baths jets, only 5 work! The water's cold as hell, they don't even flush the toilets! The bathroom's dirty, and you have to take your band-aids off when you go into that chlorine infested pool. I lost something, and the guy didn't even bat an eye! They should go out of business.
Gateway is suck, running by a bunch of crooks who claim doing business on behalf of Gateway churches. Unprofessional and irresponsible. Should going out of business, let's stop going there should be a wise choice ! You damn right !
