Gardener's Choice Online scam

Placed an order with Gardeners Choice, but noticed my shipping was twice what their front page advertised for what I ordered. Called to ask them to cancel the order if they couldn't remove the extra shipping charge and was told I could cancel tomorrow but the order was not showing yet today.

Called the next day 11am and was told the order was already processing and could not be canceled and that I should have called at 7am. Ha. Would not allow me to speak to a Supervisor or anyone higher.

I had to call my bank and pay $8 just to keep them from being able to charge me and hope that they don't try to charge it from a separate company name since it appears they work under several or rather I should say rip people off under several names.

I have of course filed a report with their BBB but from the look of it, I don't think anyone in Hartford is bothered that they have a company operating this way in their area.

I have tried to contact them by phone to no avail, even e-mails won't go through. They sure do have some protective armour, except for accepting orders. Their phones are always busy, click 2 for customer service, which is always busy, click 1 to place an order and there is no problem connecting to them. Try to place an e-mail to their site, I have tried many times to no avail, says its typed wrong, don't use capitals. Give me a break. Go on line to place an order, there is no problem for that. I'm beginning to think BBB should be aware of this company. I'm gonna let it go for 3 more days and then I will contact BBB.

Do not deal with this company! A lot of complaints about dead plants, un-shipped orders, etc. My complaint is that they are sending each item separately and charging my card an exorbitant shipping rate each time: piece meal shipping rip off. Each time they send me one part of my original order, the shipping charge is twice as much as the product they send! This is illegal, and they know it. Do not deal with this outfit.

No sign of intelligent life. They can not read...for the e mail's nor can a phone be answered... they really need to define " WE WILL BE WITH YOU IN A FEW MINUTES... 50 minutes on hold asked for a supervisor or manager to call back that never happened.. 43 minutes next day I hung up... three emails... one reply saying WE DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES ... I am holding the box as UPS also made a mistake UPS is coming to pick up the box and with luck refund my money ... and for 40 dollars I will go back and shop with Spring Hill...

Problem 2 order was placed in March... Still have not recieved the order nor will customer allow me to cancel... that is what the call back manager is need for as CS agents can not cancel orders.

I oredered the Tomato Trees off the T.V. and I thought I was getting trees and instead I got a little box with seeds that I had to grow myself. Also they charged me $11.90 shipping and handling and when I got my package which I had to pick up at the post office myself the stamp only said .79. All I have to say is they are a big rip off and I will never order from them again.

Gardener's Choice I've ordered plants not seeds

I live at 2505 Rocksprings rd Kingsport tn. I saw your ad on TV I called and ordered tree tomatoes all I got were seeds. I was told I would get tomato plants not seeds. I was told I would have tomatoes by the fourth of July. Not with seeds. I want t know where my tomato plants are. Please make this customer happy and send me my plants. You can’t tell people that they are going to get tomato plants and then send them seeds. I was really anxious to get my plants not seeds. Thank you.

Plants grew only 1 1/2 inches. Sent back the product and did not receive a refund. Called the customer # and only a recording was heard that they would be right with you. No one answered that #.

GARDENERS' CHOICE: I have emailed them, called them and canceled my order. They will NOT respond. Gardners' choice should be put out of business! The whole country should be made aware that they are NOT credible and no one should do business with them!

Junk blueberry plants! Didn't even finish the order on the internet of the blueberry plants and it literally scammed by charging the credit card before he knew what happened and it was to late to back out of the order electronically. Then the scam phone calls started from automatic dialings to our phone and telemarketers and then the unauthorized scam charges started to our credit card too. Had another one today. My credit card company put me on the phone with [protected] Mint Collectibles who stated that we ordered blue berry bushes and received phone calls afterwards and through these phone calls authorized the charges. I demanded their address, the women repeatedly refused. I told her if she wasn't doing anything wrong, she shouldn't be afraid to give me the address. She hung up on myself and the credit card company. There has to be a special place in hell for people like her.

I ordered over $80 for tomato, pepper, squash and cabbage plants. Everything arrived very mushy in advanced decomposition. Furthermore, all the plants were yellow. Of 18 tomato plants, 9 pepper plants, 6 cabbage plants and 6 squash, two tomato plants, 3 pepper, 2 squash and 2 cabbage plants survive 5 days following receipt.

Like others, I have tried calling and e-mail with no response. I wouls expect a reputable company to replace te bad plants and try again. I simularily had bought 24 tomato plants from Burpee. 3 4th of July types died. Burpee replaced them as requested with Beefsteak type, 6 of then! Now in retrospect, I think the lost plants may have been caused by deer. I catch the deer in my garden, I will be having barbequed venison along with squash, peppers, eggplant and tomato.

Gardener's Choice Reporting fraud on gardener's choice!

I have called many times and emailed to get status on my order. They never responded to email and you cannot ever get to anyone to talk realtime. The customer service phone below, taken off their website is broke. You always get a recording to press 1 to place an order or 2 for customer service. No one ever answers and then you get disconnected.

Here is what they have open their website for customer service.

To place an order,

For customer service or to check on an existing order, please Call [protected]. Monday thru Friday - 9 am to 4:30 pm EST
Please be aware that during peak gardening season (mid & late spring) our call volume is very high and wait times may be extended. Calling mid-morning or mid-afternoon may be helpful.

I purchased 12 baby bush watermelon plants from Gardeners Choice on 5-11-07. Within three days after I planted them they went into shock, and died. I have called them every day for the last two weeks, the phone is always busy, I have e-mailed them three times with no reply. What is my recourse, if any.

I placed one order and received several addition orders. A total of over $100.00 I have contacted them and have sent all the orders back no refund yet. This is a real scam buyers beware and never ever order anything with your debit card.

I believe this company is a scam as well. I ordered 12 tomato "plants" and received 12 small plastic pots filled with what appear to be dead meal worms. I dug through four of the pots did not even find any tomato seeds. Their phone gives a constant busy signal, and no human ever picks up. I want my $34 back! I am pursuing with the local authorities until this matter is resolved.

the above comment regarding terrible customer service is 100% true. fortunately, he was reimbursed. i was not so lucky AND it is not worth the $10 they owe me to wait on hold for literally hours over several attempts to reach customer service. the customer service department never answered in all of those attempts and the ordering dept was rude when they found out i was calling about a problem with an order. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

i ALSO had to request reimbursement for plants that were DEAD, but they did give me my money back. but it doesn't speak well for the company. it's not worth the time to order, receive, plant, not grow, etc.
