FYE purchased brand new dvd that pauses

I just purchased the Hunger Games DVD for my 9 year old son this evening 8/21/12 and passed on paying extra $2, on top of the $25 I was already paying, for the warranty because why would a brand new DVD need to be replaced? I played the DVD in two separate DVD players that work perfectly fine for all other DVD's in our house. The movie paused repeatedly in both DVD players. I never thought I would need a warranty on a brand new DVD, but now maybe I understand why the sales clerk was pushing me to purchase the warranty. How can you sell brand new DVD's that are apparently defective, hence the need for a warranty, then tell a customer that you won't allow it to be returned because it is opened? I would expect to be able to exchange a defective item for a replacement of the same exact item without needing a warranty. Please tell me that the store will exchange this for another copy or am I to end up as just another dissatisfied FYE customer?

We have returned 3 copies to Walmart and do not have one we can watch. Contact Lionsgate @ lionsgateshop@orderassistance.com. or 1/[protected]. That's what I have done. I hope they will replace it.

FYE backstage pass vip/magazine program

BEWARE OF THIS STORE. They sell a "discount card" called the VIP Backstage Pass at the register which saves you 10% off. This is true, but of course what they don't tell you is that if you don't cancel it within a month, the card begins to charge you $11.99 per month thereafter. And cancelling is very, very difficult.

They also pitch a magazine program where you get up to three magazines free for two months. In this scam, they tell you you don't have to cancel, as they send a card with instructions. But the truth is you do have to cancel them within the two month period or the magazine company will charge you for the full amount of a year-long subscription.

The staff seems nice but they are snakes as they lie to your face. They must have to get a quota or something. DON'T fall for their illicit trap.

FYE they charged my wife money for the next month

I want to complaint about FYE-BSP. My wife paid for a membership for one month. After a month and a half they charged her money for the next month. She called to cancel membership. But the next month the same happened. Is it legal?

FYE very misleading

Their user membership is pitched as being COMPLETELY FREE for two months. In reality, you will be charged immediately, then again within a couple of weeks, and then monthly. Also, you will be offered three magazine subscriptions. I opted against them in the store, so they chose three random magazines for me, which I was also charged for through a company called TWX without my permission. They automatically use your credit card that is swiped for your actual merchandise purchase. TOTAL SCAM!

FYE I believe this is a total scam

I purchased a children's movie DVD approximately 2 months prior to the release of the film Tangles. I paid in full at the time. When I received a call the DVD was in I had my daughter pick it up the following day. When she did they charged her 6 dollars more for the film because it was not picked up at the time of the sale. They contend it was to be picked up at that time but they never indicated that to me when I purchased it nor did they call to say it was in until the sale was over. I believe this is a total scam.

FYE inappropriate music playing

I was recently in my local FYE store to shop for a DVD copy of the little mermaid for my daughter. She is 4 years old and she was with me when I was shopping. Now I know that FYE sells movies that of an adult nature but I was okay taking her in there because they keep the adult movies covered up with placards. However, on this particular day the music playing over the sound system was grossly inappropriate. The lyrics were obscene and made references to sexual acts and belittled women. They also contained a lot of profanity. I understand that as a parent some discretion is needed but I don't think that a store in the mall that sells Disney movies and is marketed as a place for anyone to shop should be loudly playing music that is OBVIOUSLY unfit for children to hear. I will NEVER shop at FYE again because I don't want my daughter exposed to that sort of filth and I wont spend my hard earned money to patronize a company who is so irresponsible.

FYE vip scam

I was signed up for the FYE VIP pass. I called and asked them to cancel it after the first month. A year later I see that they are still taking money out of my account. I call them and get them to cancel it. Nine months later I come to realize they are still charging me. They said I can't get any of the money back, despite the fact that I haven't used the service ever!

Same thing happened to me. I call them I don't know how many times to cancel the card. They just ignored me and kept charging me for it. Results: I didn't return to their stores or buy on their site on line ever since.

FYE credit card fraud

I've been charged for who knows how long $11.99 a month. I never bothered to check my statements until now. I wanted to know why my available balance was always changing with out any purchases. I don't know what this company is and I'm sure I never authorized them to charge my card. I tried calling and I got an answering machine saying something about back stage tickets. I'm 53 years old and I'm not interested in any back stage tickets to anything. I am being ripped off. My credit card company told me they received similar complaints and will try to assist me. I think since there are so many people getting ripped off buy these cons there should be a class law suit against them. I work hard for my money, If anyone has any info I'm in!

I actually emailed their Customer Service today saying the same basic thing; that if there's ever a class action law suit against them, I'll gladly be participating. My experience was the same as yours. If I see another charge on my card, I'll be the evenings and weekends standing outside the store with a sign warning people of what's going to happen. People be warned: if you don't have anywhere else to buy movies and absolutely feel you must shop at FYE, only use cash and don't sign up for anything!

FYE backstage pass renewal

I signed up for the Backstage pass not being told that after the first month there would be a monthly charge. When I saw that on the pamphlet I was quick to call and supposedly cancel. I was assured I wouldn't be charged any money and that the cards number was now invalid. I threw the card away. It is now 1 month later and I am being charged. I tried to call and deal with it but without a card a number I was told I had to go to a store and order a new card. I live a ways from the nearest store so that is not an option. I want to be assured that these criminals won't keep charging me when I told them not to.

welcome to the real world mothers of america. i suppose you want to complain about barnes and noble or other book stores that have porn in their magaize section...also not behind "lock and key". so, you better stay away from book stores. Oh, and gas stations too.
while you bash the employees for having a low IQ, i have to wonder about yours as well.

FYE they dont have any new band posters or older band posters. they have porn and girls topless I mean kids dont need to see that

So I went to FYE at the mall with one of my friends to find a poster that they wanted and I see a Girl with no shirt on and I said to myself they dont need this stuff here so I walked around and saw porn movies I mean if they are going to sell that then actully make a store for adults only..thats not for a kids and teens place.. And another thing They should have New Posters of bands heck even older bands.. Like Pop/Rock/Metal bands/Singer like) The Ready Set, Never Shout Never, Black Veil Brides, Escape The Fate(with new singer Craig mabbit), Hey Monday, Slipknot, A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, Avenged Sevenfold, Nickelback, HECK! even The Beatles, Bullet For My Valentine, BrokenCYDE, Linkin Park, Blood On The Dance Floor, Green Day, Paramore, Adam Lambert, Cody Simpson, ECT! Have even country bands/singers like Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Carrie Underwood, Uncle Kracker, Big & Rich, Taylor Swift, ECT! They Have the cd's but why not posters? Just to let you know the posters are through a different company they pay fye to have their posters sold. And as fir the porn they have cards to hide them from being seen its not the stores fault for what they sell. Heck even the dvds and cds are not our company just like the posters

wow, we didnt need to have you list every single band? porn is what sells. Afterbeing an employee of TWE I know that youll sell more posters of naked chicks then posters of crappy bands like nickleback. Also the porn DVDs we sell are simply soft porn. If you looked at our sales for the day I bet you we sell more porn then disney! If you dont like it simply take your child elsewhere, but keep in mind in a few years your kid will most likely being the one who buys the poster of the naked girl.

FYE illegal charge on my credit card

Hello, here is one more case agains FYE VIP.. I'm from Venezuela and I went to USA last year, in March. I bought several stuffs in a FYE store located in Taylosville, UT, and this year I've noticed several charges of $9, 99 and $11, 99 on my credit card account. I can search between that travel tickets (I always save them in a safe place) because I think they gave me a card or something simmilar. The desk clerk just gave it to me to get some discounts for my purchase or next purchases, I don't remember so much. If you guys find a way to get back our money, please let us know.

FYE the order never delivered and no refund given

I order a CD on FYE.com for my husband's birthday. Two days later, someone from customer service called me. She said she wanted to confirm the order with my husband. I told her "It's for his birthday, I don't want him knowing about it." She said, "too bad." I told her to cancel the order. She said "Fine" and hung up.

I then sent two emails to their customer service department to cancel the order. Still, we were charged on the credit card, but never received the order. I never heard back from them.

One month later I have yet to see the credit.

FYE worst service

I was shopping at FYE around xmas time, i had a movie held for me and when i picked it up to pay the difference they told me that they were offering me the FYE VIP BSP Pass which would give me so much off of my purchase but that i would need to cancel by sometime in Jan. I tried calling THREE different times to cancel and each time it was never cancelled and they kept charging my account $9.99. I finally called and again and told them that it better be cancelled and i want my money back for the last month. FYE customer service people are extremely pushy and do not understand the words NO THANK YOU! Stay away from FYE BSP pass or anything that has to do with it. They are extremely shady and dishonest.

FYE age discrimination

Me and a group of my friends wanted to go into an fye store to get a cd, but when we tried to go in, a saleswoman rudely told us that we could not come in the store because we were under 18. That is discrimination, and if they had hung up a sign saying black people can't come in because they might steal from the store, the store would be boycotted immediately. I was so mad I don't think I will ever go in another fye store again because of it. It's ridiculous that a store would not even allow us to enter the store just because we're 16 and might possibly steal from them. Not all teenagers steal any chance they get, and I did learn one thing: never go bro another fye store again.

FYE - account

My husband's credit card got charged and we have never done business with these people, or even heard of them before the charge showed up on the credit card account. Fortunately, I have the card company email me automatically whenever a charge is made online or over the phone, just so I don't miss charges and go over my limit so I knew right away and was able to call and get the card cancelled and charge reversed.

FYE cancelled orders

I tried to order a DVD on line. My order was cancelled. I tried again, and again it was cancelled. So I tried a third time. Apparently that order was also cancelled. So I emailed the customer service. I was then told that I needed to contact a real person (because apparently customer service doesn't exist). So I call their number, and I get put on hold for 20 minutes, then I get sent to voicemail, which I didn't even know was possible while being on hold. Finally, I get a real person to talk to me, but she just tells me there is nothing they can do because they have no record of my orders, which is weird because I have three. She then informs me that I cannot be refunded on my gift card because I don't remember the number, and I threw it away after they neglected to tell me that they had cancelled my third order.
Never shop at FYE. They just want to take your money and give you nothing in return. Buy from Barnes and Noble. It may be more expensive but at least you get something for your money.

FYE continued charges after cancel request

It all started out with an innocent DVD purchase at FYE in Florence KY. ATM/POS WITHDRAWAL 09/25 FYE FLORENCE 18 FLORENCE KY 31.46
After the purchase, the so called nice sales man encouraged me to try the VIP Backstage. I immediately said "No, Thank you!" He said you should just try it for a month, if you buy another DVD within the month, you'll get a discount. If you don't, just call the [protected] # and cancel. You won't be charged." I fell for it.
So... October rolls around and I knew I wouldn't get back to FYE so I called this number on the Promo Pack the card was enclosed in which even reads "Your satisfaction is guaranteed and you may cancel at anytime by calling [protected].
I called, gave my Member # . It was obvious I was calling an outsourced call center not located in the USA. The guy asked me why I wanted to cancel the card. I told him I won't be using it and can't afford the charge at this time. He said something like "Well, the services are already good for this month." I told him again that I wouldn't be using it and asked him right out "So I won't be getting any charges on my account next month, right?" He said "Yes maam, but your services are still good for a month." I told him again "I don't want any charges on my card. I want this cancelled."

So... What happens? 11-03-2010

I called back to the call center obviously not in the US and got a woman who told me my card was never cancelled. She asked "Did you get a cancellation number?" I told her "No, he told me it was cancelled." So... I told her I wanted it cancelled now and want a cancellation number. She confirmed it was cancelled ... I got a cancellation number... ( I honestly heard people laughing in the background!) and guess what? The following month

This is total fraud. Consumer rip off. FYE at the Florence Mall should know better than to push this scam. In the long run, they will lose money and customers. I'll never go there again. Same thing happened to me but I spoke to a nice boy named Jesse thru the number given and he cancelled for me and refunded my money. I will still shop there but lesson learned when it comes to the fine print.
