I started an account with FX fitness in December of 2020. In April of 2021 I had the receptionist freeze my account as I gave birth and couldn't utilize the gym. Come May 2021 the gym on Broadview Rd in Broadview Hts. Ohio closed permanently with no notice to members. Subsequently my account was unfrozen and charged even though the gym had closed. Some members report that memberships were transferred to another gym franchise though I have yet to receive a phone call saying so. I'm now being contacted by Aldous Law to pay a "debt" that I supposedly "owe" to gym that is permanently closed and can't be used. The law firm is saying the gym has contacted them with proof the gym was open for the month of July which is false, I live right down the street. The website domain is up for sale and the phone number is disconnected. Aldous is sending my account to a creditor and it will have repercussions on my credit score which is already struggling as I'm a 22 year old college student. I also did not sign any contract when I opened the account as they're stating I did.

I was a member of fx fitness maple hts ohio, the gym unexpectedly closed almost 2 years ago without any notification to me whatsover, but you are still charging my account for a closed gym, id like a refund and for you to stop charging my card without my authorization please

It's not really a complaint. Rather a concern. I was an original member of Scandanavian Health Spa since 1987 (30-yrs). As a lifetime member I'm grandfathered in at $16.16/yr. Now since Maple Heights has closed their doors, the nearest Fx is in Broadview Heights. I have my last statement which reflects the "annual" dues of $16.16, plus 2 emails that reflect the same. Hopefully when I go to Broadview Heights either today or tomorrow, they honor the same rate I've been paying. TBD

My husband and I were members for over 25 years with multiple changes in name. Fx was the last. We were paying same rate, but last year, charge was 4 times higher. Took multiple calls to gym and billing service to fix. The billing service would refund, next month would bill higher rate again. Took 3 months to fix. In 12/2016 charged for full year, but in March 2017, gym closed without notice.i drove to westlake over summer to cancel but was told needed to come back during week as this was a Sunday. Finally went back to westlake gym and was able to cancel. Asked about partial refund due to their abrupt closure and told no refund. Fx takes money but then closes. Not good business! The willoughby location was dirty and never fixed up like we were told, so be careful joining this place. To the owners, shame on you, people should at least get refund for time not used. To current members, cancel now before fx closed at your location without notice

I am being double charged about 20 dollars every month when I know a membership is only supposed to be about 20 dollars a month. The charges are usually about ten days apart from each other. This is the only gym membership that is on my credit card. I have spoken to the employees of the gym and they said that they were unable to help me. This dissatisfies me greatly and I would appreciate aid.

When I started working out with a trainer at FX almost 2 years ago, it was fantastic. He listened to my goals and helped me achieve them. Then my trainer decided to quit about 4 months ago and I was assigned a new one which was fine at first, but now it appears the trainers have their own agenda. The group of trainers at the Cincinnati location have become very racial and seem to only want to train young black woman. They don't listen to the clients and only care about making these girls bums bigger. As a middle aged white woman, I DO NOT want my butt any bigger than it already is. Now, when you walk in the door to the facility, since the training area is on the first floor, all you hear is rap music and / or preaching. The trainers are consumed with themselves. Constantly taking pictures of themselves and posting them on social media. They don't focus on the clients anymore. The manager of the club, whom I've never met in over 2 years because she only works Monday - Friday 10 - 4, should be paying more attention.

I signed up for a memebership to meet with a personal trainer. I was told there was a special for $10 a month. So I signed up. After meeting with a personal trainer I decided the prices would be a little high for my budget. Plus I was being charged $20 a month instead of $10. So I decided to close my memebership. I sent 2 certified letters. Still was being charged. I called multiple time and no one would connect me to anyone higher up. I was charged for 8 months without going to the gym one time. I finally had to cancel my credit card so charges would stop coming off. It was the biggest hassle I've ever had. I'm extremely upset and I would like a refund. But that clearly won't happen because no one will give me a call to talk about it.

I came in to start a new account and was encouraged to meet with a personal trainer to help me start a plan free of charge. I then met with Rick we went over different options and I was offered training sessions at 55/ session. After much thinking I decided against this during our meeting. To my knowledge everything had been cancelled. After leaving the gym I received a contract via email. I sent a text out to the trainer that I met with to confirm that everything had been cancelled. I was assured that it had been. A few days later I was emailed a notice stating that my account was in default over $8, 200.00! I called again to speak with the trainer and he told me that I was still responsible for payments for sessions that never took place under a contract that should have been cancelled. I spoke with him again today and was told that the cancellation fee was over 2, 500.00. This is ridiculous! The contract was cancelled on the same day it was signed. Words cannot express how I feel about this. I work very hard for everything that I have. I do not take from anybody. That is exactly what happened in this scenario. I feel robbed. I asked to speak with someone else and he informed me that he was my only go to person! I would not recommend this gym to anybody. I regret the day that I signed up for membership.
