Dont use this site for ringtones. there is no contact number for them just a website. so no refunds are easy. The ringtones dont even download onto your cellphone. they automatically charge you 23.88 for a year subscription when thats not what you want. why should i pay 23.88 for something that doesnt work?!

i have tried to contact them 10 times for refund the just keep sending me a email for tech support, i dont want support for my phone, i want my money back. still searching for contact number, talked to my lawyer etc...

Funtonia Ringtones etc

I am from the united kingdom, i was browsing funtonia one day and decided i wanted a ringtone so i went through the process of purchasing it - came to relise that i didnt recieve it so i thought i wouldn't be charged for it and thought nothing of it, till i recieved my bank statement and saw that funtonia had debited my account for £15.27 ($23.88).
I am Extremely Angry as i havn't been able to conact them for a refund, and came to relise that funtonia is a false website, trying to loor you in by false claims.
If anyone knows how to get in conatact with them, i would appreciate the information.
And hopefully we can take the approiate action to get this website shut down.

I really don't understand. I purchased a years membership to Funtonia and received Many ringtones; even to the point that I contacted them about a COUPLE of ringtones I wanted and they did Not have, after contacting them they got the very ringtones I wanted. Now I cannot get to the site online and it seems to be gone! I don't understand what happened and I wish I had the number I had gotten them on before. The WERE not a spam but I don't know hat happened.

Funtonia ringtones, wallpaper won't download and no refund

I signed into and registered (and paid) for the one year membership with Funtonia.com. They had the ACS Alaska Banner stating they work with their service for ringtones and wallpaper. I could not download either. I contacted them for a refund prior to the draw on my bank account. Their email to me was their billing dept would get in touch with me for a refund. This never happened and the next day they drew the annual fee out. I have attempted to contact them several times and they have not responded at all.

Truly a dishonest organization!

money. I threatened the BBB and they did not care. I am going through my credit

I have used Funtonia for YEARS (and no I am not affiliated with them in anyway). I had a subscription to their service for about 3 years or less and used it for my Blackberry Curve(s) over the years.

They are NOT a scam. I can understand how pissed people get when they pay a flat fee and then it doesn't work on THEIR phone, but I've downloaded hundreds of ringtones, many wallpapers, and even changed the 3 maximum numbers you are allowed to send them to all on the same paid account at once (you are allowed to list three different numbers and carriers and send them to whichever you want and when you want to change them, you just edit your profile).

Meaning not only did I get tons of songs that you can't find anywhere else (like obscure Tool, Deftones, and even Prodigy songs) but I could do my friends a favor and plug in their number, send them a few, and then switch it back.

Granted, sometimes the downloads don't send properly, but since it's a one time fee, you just log out and back in and go to your "downloads" page and resend the ringtone a few times.

I HAVE had issues where I sent myself like 10 tones ...waited and waited...and then they didn't show up for like 5 hours...but they still showed up. And like I said...you already paid, so you just resend them as many times as you need to if they don't go through either because of their server...or YOUR phone/service.

They arrive *typically* as an MMS and all you do is click the download and choose to "open file" or "save file". You let it download to your phone and then it will show up in your ringtones or your MP3 player depending on your phone.

If it doesn't work the first time (ie: doesn't show up in your tones) just restart your phone and wait a bit and it often magically appears in your tones list later on.

It's not perfect, but they really DO have a great selection and allow you to send yourself a lot of tones for the price.

I wouldn't at all say they are a scam since other sites put up pop up windows that say "FREE!" and then just add the charges to your phone bill without mentioning it.

At least Funtonia makes it clear that you will pay a one time fee for a year or 6 months or whatever it is now.

I was actually really impressed by their site, so don't jump the gun.

Funtonia Unauthorized billing

I found this company online while searching for ringtones to download to my cell phone. I paid $23 for a year of unlimited downloads. From day one I had problems with downloading the ringtone the text they sent to my cell phone always had an error message stating that the URL did not exist. I contacted the company through their email because of course they have no phone number and always got prompt response and help on ways to solve the problem.

When it came down to it after 5 different attempts I told the company I am sorry but my phone just is not compatible with their service in any of the 5 ways to get the ringtones and if I could regrettably have a refund of my $23. I never got a response once I pushed the send button and after 2 months of emails I have yet to receive any form of reply or assistance after all the prompt service I received when i asked for help in trying to download the ring tones.

This company is a rip off and they know that they are and I want more to be done and am wondering is there a way to actually file a suit against them and get them out of business? This company has been ripping people off for at least 4 years and they need to be stopped.

Hi,

I too just signed up for Funtonia. I thought I was getting 3 months for $5.99 but it turned out I was billed $18.49. Which is a crock. However, I did end up getting ring tones and that is why I am commenting.

Have you tried their wap service? That's how I ended up getting my ringtones. If you have surfing/web access on your phone, you can go to http://wap.funtonia.com from your phone, sign in and then download (to your hearts content I might add) the ringtones you have saved in your download folder.

I wouldn't recommend this site to ANYONE but I do intend on getting my money's worth! Good luck and God bless!

Funtonia Can't download won't refund

Dear Support Team,
I have tried to down load two ringtones, trying all of the methods provided on your site, the step by step instructions as well as visual presentation, as well as a usb cable. And also with the, the Advanced Support team with BLACKBERRY! So I would think that, would qualify as a Technical Difficulties! I was never able to acquire any Ringtones from your site! So I think that according to your Terms, I have meet both of your qualifying terms! Being the technical issue and that I am unable to use your product!

Now I can"t get a refund, and I cancelled with in 3 hours of order it, after trying to down load, with out any success!

Funtonia Will not refund, Vague description of pricing policy

A month ago on a lark I download a few ringtones thinking they were just around $2.50 each. When I got my receipt I found I had just purchased a membership to their company for $23.00. Immediately I contacted them and said I had misread their description and I had no intention of spending that much for a ringtone and I wanted my money refunded.

They blew me off.

In a reluctant effort to be a good sport, I went ahead and ordered a usb cord for my phone. When I got the cord I was told I would also need a driver. I returned that cord and looked for a driver/cord comination. I found one (affordable, not the 32.00 version that kept appearing in my search) and when I got that, no driver was included with it after all. I returned that order too, paying postage in both cases.

I looked in a forum to see if they had a suggestion for downloading the driver and that is when I learned that Samsung m510 does not upload mp3 or any extraneous files anyway, even if I did manage to get the right equipment. The link they sent me earlier, a special Sprint uploading program would not help either. I told customer service and they said that as long as I had downloaded those few ringtones to my pc the product was already used.

IF I WANTED TO LISTEN TO MOONLIGHT SONATA IN MY PC I WOULD HAVE DOWNLOADED THE FULL FRIGGING PIECE FROM SOMEWHERE. Do they think I will play a half minute snatch of it over and over ad infinitum?

These people who are gloating over the money they took from me must be clueless how much $23.00 is to a person trying to survive on $1, 000 a month. Most businesses care about customer satisfaction. maybe they think I am going to make a profit from those four dribbles of music I will never be able to use and no longer even have on my hard drive.

Most businesses care about customer satisfaction. These people don't.

Funtonia No refund when service doesnt work

Funtonia Sucks!

o What kind of business would take a customers money and not deliver the service?

o What kind of business makes it difficult for unhappy customers to reach them?

o What kind of business would refuse to give money back when a customer is unable to get the service they paid for?

If you are interested in knowing, read on!

I recently signed up for unlimited downloads of cell phone ring tones for a year, from www.Funtonia.com. I was lured by the perceived ease and simplicity of the service. What a mistake!

I followed all of their instructions and began what I hoped would be a fun experience of finding some great ring tones, downloading them to my and my wife’s phone and being able to change them at any time.

I’m not a techie, but I’m also no fool when it comes to downloads and problem solving technical issues. I’ve operated several web sites for my business and have downloaded countless programs from the web. No matter what I did, I could not get the system to work for either of our phones.

After numerous attempts and failures, feeling frustrated and ripped off, I decided to cancel this service.

The only customer service they offer is an e-mail address...This should have been a warning to me. Any company that is truly into customer service would have a contact phone number. Anyhow I e-mailed Funtonia immediately to request a cancellation and a refund to my credit card.

I did not hear from them for several days and then I was sent 2 emails explaining that refunds were not given unless there were technical issues or fraud.

Included in one of these short but sweet emails was a link to their “terms and conditions page” where it explains refunds are not given for personal reasons. I suppose the fact that I cannot utilize their services after they have been paid for is a personal issue rather than a technical issue and that paying for a service you can’t receive is not fraud!

In addition, their pricing is misleading. I thought I was going to pay 1.99 per month for 12 months and found I got charged or 12 months in one hit. I guess that’s my fault for not reading it more closely, but I think the wording on their pricing is deliberately misleading.

I’ve got to the point where even if it can be fixed, I no longer want the service. Even if you can get it to work, what good is it if it’s a hassle.
If you search on the web, you’ll see that there are quite few others who have had similar problems with Funtonia.

I exchanged several e-mails with Funtonia, but its like writing to a robot or a computer. They simply ignore your requests and refer you to FAQ pages and video tutorials, even after I explained that I had done that. They simply ignore my other requests. As a result, I have decided to write reviews on every consumer page I can find.

In my opinion, this company is shady and deceptive and is not interested in its customers; only its bottom line.

I should have researched them before I fell prey to Funtonia’s business tactics... so it really is my fault for allowing this to happen. Don’t let this appalling service happen to you.

Since this has happened, I decided to research them online and found several bad reviews on various pages.

Hopefully my experience with Funtonia will help you avoid this unfortunate situation in the future.

My advice, run like hell! Visit another site with more customer friendly practices.

I went to this website to purchase ringtones for my cellphone. I was lured in by the perceived ease and simplicity of the service. I entered my credit card information and purchased a package of unlimited ringtones for my phone for a year. After purchasing I then found out that I must have an internet connection on my phone or a USB cable for the ringtones to be transferred to my phone.

I have neither of these and panicked when I constantly tried to get the ringtones downloaded to my cell phone... After numerous attempts and failures I decided to cancel this service. Their instructions are vague and unclear and almost impossible for the average person to understand. The only customer service they offer is an email address... so I emailed them immediately to demand cancellation and refund to my credit card.

I did not hear from them for several days and then I was sent 2 emails explaining that refunds are not always given when requested. Included in one of these short but sweet emails was a link to their 'terms and conditions page' where it nicely explains refunds are not given for personal reasons. I guess the fact that I cannot utilize their services after they have been paid is a personal issue! One of the emails stated that an 80% refund would be given to me. So they keep 20% just because they can (see terms and conditions page once again).

I emailed them and let them know how unhappy and furious I was... I told them I would never do business with them again and I would write reviews on every consumer page I could find. So in my opinion, this company is shady and deceptive and prey on people who do not fully understand the process of ringtones and downloading them to your cell phone.

I should have researched before I fell prey to their tactics... so it really is my fault for allowing this to happen. Since this has happened I decided to search them online and found several bad reviews on various pages. If only I had done the research first! Hopefully my experience will help someone avoid this unfortunate situation in the future.

Funtonia is a huge rip off. According to the site, it said $1.99 a month. I never saw the small text that said one time payment. I told them I wanted a refund and they told me read their terms. Regardless of their "terms" I was ripped off. Moreover, NONE of their ring tones work, I can't get any of them to my phone. They have the worst customer service because they take forever to respond to my emails and I sent multiple emails and they never respond. Do not try Funtonia, I would consider them to be a scam. They make it appear that it's a simple $1.99 a month, but they have small text that says one time payment, yet the $1.99 is enlarged as a image.

I also feel funtonia is a ripoff. The way that the $1.99 is presented suggests that you pay $1.99 a month until you cancel it. I fell for the $1.99 graphic and did not undestand that it would cost me $23.88 to download one ringtone. I only wanted one ringtone and was willing to pay $1.99 for it. Big mistake. Do not use this service. I am filing complaints with my State Attorney General and the Internet Crime site. http://www.ic3.gov/

These people are getting business largely on their deceptive graphics presentation. I am not an idiot but I certainly feel like one after falling for this one.

When i found funtonia i was excited to be able to download endless amounts of ring tones, as promised by the web site when you pay a fee of 23.88. So i gave them my card information, never once thinking the website was a complete scam. I tried to send some ring tones to my phone and it just wouldn't do anything at all. when I accessed the website threw my phone, the web site said that funtonia was not compatible with my metro PCS phone. (then why would they take my money, when filling out my account info I let them know it was a metro pcs phone).

so i email the company threw there website telling them i want a refund because they charged me for a service that doesn't work. I received a reply that was a sentence long and did not answer my question. SO here i am... a little pissed and not knowing what to do about it. This web site needs to be shut down before more people become victims, and the people behind the site need to be punished for all the money they lied them selves into getting.

Absolutely agree with no way to contact them except via e-mail to which there was not response. The ring tones sent to my phone could not be downloaded. There is no way to contact them to where you could talk to a human being. You punch in what type of phone you have when you apply-why doesn't it flag your type of phone if not compatible with their program. I intend to bother this company so badly they will want to give my money back

Funtonia Poor service!

I subscribed to a ringtone website called Funtonia.com for a one year membership in which my credit card was charged a total of $23.88 for the full year. They canceled my membership after 5 months saying my subscription expired. I contacted them through email since apparently this is the only contact method and I sent a copy of my credit card billing statement to show when it was charged and to let them see that their records showing expiration of my account was incorrect and I never heard from them again. I kept emailing to get it corrected and still to this day 6 months later. I still haven't heard from them nor have they responded in any way to correct this.

Like everyone here I was over charged for a ringtone service that should have charged me 2.99 instead ended up being 17.94, today I am going to the bank and cancel me credit card and get a new one in fear this is nothing but a big scam. there is nothing good about a company that claims to charge one thing and sticks you for anotherm its pure out and out fraud, and I hope the site gets taken down my next thing to do is report them to the FCC and the FBI, because this is credit card fraud pure and simple.

And general reasons) and saw no weird charges. Just the $2 or w.e a month t was and they still gave me the year subscription. When it was done I just didnt renew it and when I log on it says I just need to pick a subscription again. That stinks for you guys but now Im scared to try it again.

All the same things happened to me. So I contacted my credit card company cancelled my card and put in a dispute and complaint. I contacted the FBI Internet Fraud Unit and put in a complaint. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and put in a complaint. By the time Funtonia pays someone to work on all these complaints or at least to answer them which you HAVE to especially the FBI one they wii have paid the $23.88 out that they ripped me off. I wish EVERYONE would do this to them.and cause their profits to fade away!

This is the best website for ringtones ever! This site has just the ringtones that I need. The only place I could find the new Radiohead album squeezed into fine working ringtones.

I was charged $23.88 for the whole year & this service is working fine for me, I wanted to change my password, send email about it to their support mail – done, I needed to ad numbers to the service, asked for it – done. I've seen many scam sites complaining about this particular site but I’m not sure why, this is working fine me me, apparently it seems like it won’t work for everyone. My opinion is: if you think you can make those ringtones by yourself then do not pay for it. I saw in other sites comments like: “Guys, you will never get your refund” – why should I want to get a refund if I’m downloading 20 new ringtones every day…? For my concern, this means that this service is functioning, & I’m not funtonia’s representative, just a common person.

Normally I'm the type of person that would research a website before I sign up for it. But for some reason I didn't and now paying for it. I was charged $23.88. That's a year's subscription. Tried to download to my phone, from my phone, nothing works. I've seen many scam sites complaining about this particular site. They are fraudulent. Guys, you will never get your refund. I just had to cancel my debit card and get a whole new one. I took the loss. So NO to Funtonia! P.S. their company resides in Israel or something.

I was looking for free ringtones.. When it said I had to pay and with a credit card I signed off.. Then Funtonia send me a text message saying that for one day I could get 15 bonus ringtones from their sight.. I visited the signt and it said 9.98 for one month so I signed off.. They sent me an email saying welcome to Funtonia.. I replied to the text message that I didn't sign up for any thing and that I didn't want it... I am wonder ing if they are going to try to charge things to my cell number even if I don't want it and told them I didn't want it.. They have their sight rigged so u can't get back on to tell them u don't want to apply... i just went to the website to see what was what... it seems that once u get on their web site u are stuck.. I need help on how to let them know I didn't sign up for any amount of time...

Is there anyway to get ahold of the company other than the e-mail section in their website?
