Hi I ordered 4 appliances from a company who sold Frigidaire in November 2022 and got our microwave in January 2023. It started to spark so, we contacted Frigidaire in February 10, 2023 and was sent a Original Purchase, Buy Back Claim Form. It is now April 26, 2023 and we have yet to get our buy back although in march I was given North Lane's phone number...

Frigidaire/Electrolux Gallery 4 french door refrigerator manufactured in 2019

I purchased on 2/17/2020 and had it installed on 2/21/2020. I called for service as ice maker stopped producing ice on 9/1/2020 (not 6 months later). Had a Main Board Update replaced on 9/8/2020. Also had difficulty removing ice bin. Main Board did NOT work after replacement. Could not get it past the diagnostic cycle. Another Main Board was ordered and replaced on 10/13/2020 (more than 30 days later). Refrigerator still didn't work until 24 hours later! Ice bin shaved down to allow easier removal...

Early Jan 2022 (3 months later) had problems with ice damming around back of inside of refrigerator wall and ice bin. Frigidaire sent a sub-contractor out on 1/14/2022 (JDs Appliance Repair) and repair guy said he removed ice and resealed ice bin. He did NOT do any diagnostic, but a quick and dirty "bandaid" repair.

So on March 15, 2022, (2 months later) ice was damming up again on ice bin and back wall and I heard a loud noise. A day later (a weekend) the error code E1 came up on the console. On March 20, Frigidaire said to call JDs Appliance Repair and pay to have repaired as I was over service concession date. (this is what they gave me instead of an extended warranty or warranty on repair job.) Frigidaire refused to allow me to purchase an extended warranty when I bought the product. I called and spoke with the owner/repair guy of JDs Appliance Repair who said it's now Frigidaire's issue to repair.

Since I need a frig, I called my own tech guys who indicated that the ice maker sensor was not working. On March 20, 2022, the refrig was cycling on and off every few minutes with a very LOUD noise ALL DAY LONG.

On March 21, 2022, my repair guys checked the refrigerator out and indicated that it was no sense repairing the ice bin because there was ice damming on the freezer wall as well as the ice bin, back wall.

Note: the inside back of the refrig is made out of STYROFOAM, so once you get ice damming, the refrigerator will rot from the inside out!

I've decided to contact my Attorney General to file a class action lawsuit against Frigidaire for failure to make products which don't work and failure to warranty repair work.

This refrigerator never worked fully, properly or continually for even 2 years!

Desired outcome: All my money back: $149.95 for latest repair appointment PLUS $2535.95.full cost of refrigeratorPLUS cost of any food I lose due to refrigerator not working until I get another one.

You are mistaken in thinking a class action is not productive. If you've researched the issue with Frigidaire, you'll find hundreds of thousands of complaints across the country for poor manufacturing of these products both within and just outside of the warranty period.

The Attorney General of my state will determine if there is a complaint to go forward with a class action. They may not, but they also may contact Frigidaire to resolve the complaint to my satisfaction. They routinely collect the statistics on consumer complaints and will make a decision off those stats and if they can win.

I would NOT expect my own appliance store where I purchased the product to resolve it as they have bent over backwards several times without pay to resolve the manufacturing issues. There is only so much you can ask of any company to do when they are NOT getting paid. I'm not interested in a small claims as it doesn't allow others who have been wronged to recoup their monies. It also doesn't get as much exposure as a class action complaint.

It is a FRIGIDAIRE issue, plain and simple. They manufactured garbage and sold it to me and others as a disposable product. I never expect anyone to pay for a refrigerator and have it not fully operational in less than 2 years. Now I cannot use the ice maker so that is additional less value for my money.

The worst part is this is AMERICAN manufactured. No wonder people are buying foreign products as a "remedy."

Hi Cantonsville,

I think I might be of assistance and guide you on a way to get your problem resolved.

First, let me try and save you some time. With absolute respect, contacting your state's Attorney General is not the way one goes about filing a class action lawsuit. In fact, there isn't enough support showing here for a class action lawsuit. In order for that to occur, you first need a group of people, combined together, all with the same issue. That's not the case here. You could contact an attorney about a regular lawsuit but the retainer alone would be more than the value of the fridge. And the amount you'd claim wouldn't allow for that level of litigation. That leaves you with a claim you could initiate within a small claims court.

That brings you to the second point; you'll need to show that the manufacturer failed contractually on their end. They provide a one year, limited warranty which they've fulfilled. The service center provides a warranty for their work but that's likely 30 days, which they've also fulfilled.

So where does that leave you?

First, I would contact the service center for the length of warranty on their service. If it's what we believe, you're out of luck. Next, contact the retailer you purchased the fridge through. Many retailers offer additional service programs that would cover this actual situation. You may find it to be your saving grace.

I wouldn't even waist your time with litigation. As much as it may make you feel better to threaten, it would be a waisted effort on your part.

Frigidaire/Electrolux 15,100 btu wall air conditioner

We purchased a Frigidaire air conditioner, after turning it on for the 2017 season, no cold air was coming from the unit. So turning to the owners handbook that came with the unit, said there was a 7 year warranty on this particular unit. After contacting the repair & complaint people at Frigidaire & spending more than 2 days on the phone with them (6/14/17 to 6/15/17) I was lead to believe when Frigidaire sent service men to my home I would be responsible for the service call & Frigidaire would pay for any parts needed to fix the unit. The service company said Frigidaire did not fax them confirmation to replace the parts, Frigidaire told the service company my unit's warranty had expired (without notice by the way) and we would be responsible for the service call and repair bill. Sounds like a win win for Frigidaire and the people they contract with to fix their appliances.
