Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail terrible food and service

My husband and I decided to have lunch at Friendly's today. When the waitress brought the coffee we ordered, we asked for regular milk as we preferred it over the provided creamers. My coffee was weak and barely lukewarm. My husbands, was strong and tasted burnt; we had both ordered decaf. The milk appeared watery, so I asked the waitress if it was whole milk; she said it was 1%, which we do not drink. We asked for and received hot coffee and used the creamers. I had to ask for another spoon because the one that came with the menu, was heavily soiled.
I ordered a plain medium hamburger with just lettuce and tomato, no onion, and a side of onion rings. My husband ordered a well done plain hamburger with fries, also with no onion, explaining that we do not eat cheese and meat together. He specified that the only lettuce he eats is iceberg. We both received bacon cheeseburgers with the works; we sent them back. In the almost 40 minutes that had passed we drank the coffee, I ate some of the onion rings and my husband ate some unsalted fries because the salt grinder was impossible to turn. When I commented on that to the waitress, she acknowledged and agreed.
When our hamburgers arrived, we discovered that there was mayonnaise on the bottom part of the bun and dark green leaf lettuce. Needless to say, we each ate only part of the bun, and burgers with no seasoning.
To say when we left we were both frustrated and disappointed, is like saying "water is wet".

We were at Friendlys two weeks ago and we ordered salads -- first of all their salads used to be really nice and big in a huge salad bowl. The salads they serve now are hard to eat on a small platter with no edge on it and the plate was small. Definitely not worth the $8.99 they charge for a salad which is to serve as a meal and not as a side salad. We will def not be returning to Friendlys anytime soon.

I had breakfast at the friendlys location in Middletown.ct. after my family and I finished eating, this trashy blonde woman (waitress)asked if we were going to pay with cash and I watched her put the money in her pocket and gave me change from her pocket. Not one time did she open the register. Please look into this matter !

I was a customer at Friendly's in Middletown CT on 9/25/11. The store had a flood after hurricane Irene. I didn't know about the flood until I arrived with my mother. Upon entering the store there was a strong smell of mold. The waitress offered us a seat at the front next to the door where the odor was. I asked to be seated to the back of the restaurant. The table she offered next to the door was wiped down with a filthy towel because you could see all the dried swirls in the tabletop. At the table we were seated at, the napkin holder is covered in a ring of black dirt. I looked around and most of the napkin holders had the same filthy black rings around them. This wasn't mold it was months and months of dirt build up. The salt and pepper shakers felt covered in grease. I think it's time that this Friendly Restaurant gets gutted out and gets a new face lift. It's old and dirty. I will never go back to this restaurant again.

Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail poor food/slow service

On this past Sunday, my son and his family went to Friendly's Restaurant located in the Delco Plaza in Hicksville. We been to the restaurant before, but not for an early dinner. The waitress was young, but inexperienced. We requested ice cubes for our drinks because the drinks were warm and need more iced cube. Finally, our requested was heeded. We ordered and after waiting at least a half an hour, our dinners were brought to us.
All of our dinners were mediocre...I can't imagine diners not comment not only on the quality of the food but also the lack of quality service. I realize this establishment is basically a restaurant for families with children, but that does not negate the reason for good food and trained personal. After this experience our family will avoid going to this establishment.

Friendly's should only be a dessert place. I had their appetizer platter and it just didnt taste very good. And they do tend to hire very unexperienced waiters and it isnt the waiters fault, they just arent trained well. I even asked one of them because we looked similar in age and he said that he had no training and he was there for a month

I had taken my younger brother here a few weeks ago on a day off from school. I pulled into the parking lot and there were absolutely no parking spots available. I assumed that since it was lunch hour they were just busy, so I took my brother on a shopping trip for a little while and upon return it was still jam packed. The restaurant is small, but the parking lot was tiny, I figured maybe since it was packed I could call in and see if I could get a spot saved or an estimated time as to when it might die down. The woman was extremely rude and said "I can't save you a spot, " which was fine I understood that, but continued on to say "just park across the street it's not like it's that far...there is tons of seating in here." As I went to say bye she had hung up. So, I parked across the street and crossed the road with my young brother and went in to find that there was one table available in a small nook. I was excited because it was quieter, but apparently our waitress couldn't see us because it took her 15 minutes to finally come over to us.
By that point we were ready to order and she told us that she would just start off with drinks and come back. After drinks and ordering our food, it had finally arrived. I had ordered a typical burger with fries, no complaints. My brother on the other hand had yet to eat today and ordered Mac and Cheese. I noticed he wasn't eating and said he wasn't hungry, that is when I noticed there was still powdered cheese all over his hard macaroni and some of it was burnt, I felt terrible and he didn't even want to eat my fries. I figured I would get him the ice cream and that went fine.
This place is tiny and disgusting. It looks like they never mop the floors, it is dark and dingy. The employees are rude and the service is terrible, I used to love going to Friendly's when I lived in Maine, but now I can do without.

Last time I check Friendly's didn't have valet parking. I'm assuming you went during the weekend. Just imagine; your an employee at Friendly's and your trying to catch up to orders on a busy day and a person calls you up and asks you to save them a car spot, won't you be a little irritated? I know I would. If the place is busy, be aware the dinning area is going to be somewhat messy and service will not be prompt. I will give you credit on the food of course it should have been cooked right.

Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail employment

I worked for this Friendly's location for a day and a half. that's it. I was hired based on availability I provided, but the manager, Heather, attempted to coerce me into closing on days when I could not since I have a 3 year old at home and a working spouse. On my first day, I was given very little training, and waited on several tables by myself while my "trainer" went on several smoking breaks, which are not supposed to be allowed. I was made to log in as a greeter so I waited on people but the other waittress pocketed the tips. The restaurant was filthy and procedure was ignored by almost everyone. Day 2: Heather corners me again and rudely askes me if I am going to be able to close on fridays and saturdays. I told her, no, I cannot get a sitter to stay until 11pm. She told me I was worthless to her and that I should quit now because I would not have a job if I didn't. This was 10 mins into my shift. And after I had spent about $60 on uniforms. I called the district manager who apologized and is refunding me the cost of uniforms. I WOULD NEVER WORK FOR THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail hair in food!

Going into friendly's hasnever been such a disappointment. However, on january 6, 2011, i decided to go to Friendly's for my lunch break. Little did i know that when i order my cryspy chicken ceaser wrap with french fries that took about 15 minutes to make, was top with a mini hairball (HAIR!) I had no clue of this until i actually was about to eat it. I then decided to go back to the restaurant to tell the manager of this unpleasant disgusting mistake they had made. I had to wait another 20 minutes for my money to be refunded into my debit card, which at the end it took more than an hour for my money to be giving back. In addition, they never tried to make me feel better about a severe mistake that they had made. The manager proceeded very poorly throughtout the whole procedure and never made an offer to make-up for the mistake. At the end, I never had the chance to have my lunch because they took up all of my time that they didn't even apoligize mannerly. It's a big disappointment that i will not forget and will think twice before going into another Friendly's Restaurant.

THANK GOD you said this. I used to work there and quit because I HAD to give those to people. Its Horrible you have to act all nice and say its a 2 week TRIAL...but you DONT tell them if they dont cancel in 2 weeks it will CHARGE the credit card you used a lot of money...the money it cost to have the subscription. lol sorry just had to say...worst place ever to work.

Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail overpriced meal/ embarrassment

This is the fourth time that this particular friendly's had poor service. I kept going back only because it happens to be the closest to my house. I will never visit Friendly's again. I took my grandmother along with my boyfriend to get ice cream only here. The waitress was very unpleasant and talked to us as if we were a bother when we only ordered ice cream. When we finally received our ice cream after hearing them call the order up 5 minutes before we actually received it.. the ice cream was melted on my grandma's to the point where all of it looked like a milkshake. Her wipped cream was deflated and gross. I told her to send it back, naturally and she asked the waitress who came back with an attitude and came back not even a minute later with the same ice cream! They poured the soup like ice cream out of the dish and handed it back, still melted. Disgusted by this we ask the waitress back but she ignores us and we continued by asking another waitress. Finally the third time the ice cream was as it should have been the first time. I then asked for one more scoop of vanilla soft served. with strawberry syrup topping and specifically asked for it to come in a bowl over and over again until I made sure she understood; instead of a dish so that the syrup would not spill out. I listened to see if my dish was pronounced ready, and I heard our waitress ask in a crude tone "is the vanilla soft served up yet?" "FINALLY"!. When my ice cream came out I had a two scooped soft served in a dish, and not in a bowl like I had asked. The waitress was horrible and we were sent our bill, not by her but from the manager. We received the wrong bill and we knew that, so we had the manager check us out. The manager tried over and over to prove us wrong and it was so embarrassing. We knew that the bill was too high. She kept telling us we were wrong until she pulled the waitress over to go back into the machine to look at all the slips. The manager said she was sorry, but sorry doesn't cut it when you try to prove the costumer wrong. The manager then said "oh yes this is the right bill because I redid the ice cream when you sent it back"! That was the most messed up part of the whole experience at Friendly's. The own manager spilt out the melted ice cream and sent it back to my grandma, never REdid the ice cream!

We went there for some ice cream, it was a very hot weekend. The manger was very rude to us and to the poeple that were waiting for there ice cream. Take took forever to to take my order, he kept telling me to repeat what I was saying. Then one of my sundaes were done and was melting and she started to make someone else order. So I was sitting there waiting for the rest of my order and my ice cream was melting. I payed $ 4.50 for a milk shake, and I got this small coffee cup. Because than ran out of the regular cups. I will never go back to that Friendly's Ice Cream. Not happy!

Stopped at Friendlies in Webster, MA today September 3. Went inside at about 10:05 am gave our order and after 45 minutes was served. My wife's pancakes were cold and my armlet was terrible. Waitress presented the bill and said sorry for the long wait. I told her that my armlet was the worse that I have ever had. I do not know if it was a bad day for the chef or what but this kind of service and food will not have people coming back.

OMG! This place is FILTHY! I always dread going in there because it's never clean! The floors look as if they NEVER get washed, the walls are dirty with old food stuck on them, and the waitresses aprons have ground in food stuck to them! How is anyone who serves food allowed to represent an eating establishment in apron's so filthy you can't even see the logo? My daughter who LOVES Friendly's was even disgusted! And did I mention the flies that stay in there? Always flies buzzing around! Last summer, their was a swam of them flying in a circle around the register! I was afraid to look and see what was swarming in the kitchen, because I had just chocked down my meal! I only went there because my daughter and I wanted to celebrate her achievement, and limited time brought us to that particular one, which was on our way home! If the Board of Health is doing inspections on a regular basis, that place would have been cited, or shut down!

My Mom & I usually go to Friendly's either for breakfast or supper.Last night, I ordered The All American Cheeseburger platter & my Mom ordered Fried clams.When we both received our meals, mine tasted somewhat Ok, But my mother's fried clams were as mushy as hell.When we both gothome about an hour later after we ate, I had diarehha TWICE and my Mom vomited twice as well.After this experience with thier food, WE will never go back there Again.My Mom was lucky she did not end up in the hospital from a severe case of food posioning!

Me and my husband and 2 kids went out to eat at friendly's we waited 12 minutes for a waitress to even greet us, then waited another 14 minutes for our drinks to arrive, by which time my youngest was getting fussy, another 35-40 minutes for our food, service was terrible, my son wanted ice cream that was supposed to come with his meal and the waitress said she had to charge for a to go cup, after all of that i said no way and went to mcdonalds to get my son a shake, we ended up paying 45 dollars for a nightmare dinner! Im very upset about this and I won't be returning there, its supposed to be about the kids and its a joke! oh and they threw away my sons legos we went back for about a minute after we left the table and my son started crying while the waitress dug them out of the trash...nice place!

Waited twenty minutes after being seated then I and my two friends decided to leave because we got no service not even anything to drink while we were waiting so after twenty minutes of waiting I and my friends left the friendly's restaurant not very happy at all we felt very unwelcome at the restaurant or the service would have been much better . We didn't get any service once we were seated and given menus. The kicker is when we were leaving after not getting any service we left and when we did and were walking across the restaurant floor someone came and picked up the menus I dont know who it was but that is besides the point. Point being is we flat out didn't get any service what so ever and felt dejected and casted aside..sincerely yours Richard Townsley. [protected]

It seems like a lot of the friendly's are going downhill. 2/3 of the locations here in MD are crap! They don't really seem to care about anything, and just take their time getting to you.

Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail 3rd time waiting

This was the third time we had to wait for our food. The first I took my girlfriend we waited 45 minutes. The second my mother, girlfriend and myself an hour and the third my girlfriend and myself hour ten minutes. One cook making food for everyone bg mistake. Service great but you knoe if you have to wait this long it's not worth it. I sugjest you put two cooks on. I use to like the food but it's not worth the wait.

This half gallon of ice cream wasn't completely filled and half of the container didn't have any chocolate chips in it, This was purchased at Market Basket in Leominster, MA on sale for $3:49 and I feel cheated. If this is the current state of your product manufacturing I'll no longer be a customer.

I bought a half gallon of caramel swirl and there is no caramel in it. Just vanilla ice cream. I bought it at the Dover NH Hannafords on Saturday December 31 2022.

I purchased the 1.5 qt container from shop rite in easthartford ct . My family and I sat down to enjoy our favorite flavor and brand icecream and there was no taste to it at all only the cookie dough had flavor the ice cream was plain like a Glass of water.

I went to friendly's resturant on Main Street in Bridgeport, CT and it was horrible the waiters were fighting in public about who was going to clean what and who was going to serve who, it was horrible and I ordered a steak with portabella mushrooms and they brought me a steak without the mushrooms and informed me that there weren't any mushrooms instead of informing me prior to bringing out my food. I will never eat there again.

Friendly's Ice Cream / Friendly’s Manufacturing & Retail bad services from the manager

My boyfriend and I always go there for Ice Creams during summer time and never had problem, but last night we went it was really horrible, horrible. I think the lady was the manager there, her name is Julie, but she didn't worn a name tag. she took our ice cream orders, we have specific needs for the banana split sundae for four of them, she took it, and then we politely ask for her, which she try to ignor our callings by the window, then we press the bell, she's like "what now", when we try to change one of the orders to different sundae, she said we already made everything, you can't change it. we forget about it, and it took her 5 more minutes to give us the ice cream when she said is ready. we check for the orders, it was widely mistake, and the portions were rather smaller than usual, and she insisted that we have order it wrong, rude, impatient. and she didn't even give us recipts.

I walked in store it's nice and clean. I am waiting to place my order but no buddy come to take my order. One girl only working I don't blame on her because she working hard but 3 more employees just looking on my side and they too much busy in theirs personal conversation. After 3-4mints someone came and took my order..it's not good..

All i found out was his name was ian and he was very rude he should be taught how to treat custermers especially a shift manager plz dicipline ian for lack of service skill we should try and start him from the start so he can learn to talk to people with respectnshould be a good idea

I had bought 2 half gallons of the ice cream. And an ice cream cake the same day at our local price chopper grocery store and both containers had freezer burnt on the top. I always buy your products and I never had an issue. I am not asking for a refund i just want this to be known

Every time my husband and I order our food to go from the Springfield st location in Agawam Ma we end up with about 8 fries with our meal. The container can clearly hold way more fries. For the amount of money we pay since prices have risen I would expect to have a decent amount of fries.

Hi,
We love Friendly's ice cream however, today we bought the Sundae Xtreme Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough but just discovered there are no chocolate chips in it...none! It tastes okay, it's just not what we were expecting or hoping for. The chocolate chips definitely add some much needed flavor to the ice cream.

Just stopped by the Saugus Ma friendlys and got an m&m friend-z. While eating i discovered a fly in my ice cream. totally disgusted and disappointed with this find. I can assure you that i will not be going back.
