FreightQuote.com Shipment overcharge

Freightquote provided a quote for shipping two coin-operated arcade machines cross country. Shipment was discussed with Freightquote and discussions by others with Freightquote were documented online. Arcades routine ship with classification code 100 or 125. Dimensions were provided by seller with 20 years experience (as the largest arcade auctioneer) palletizing games. Freightquote sent out the quote, with a total of $484 for this shipment from Frontline Carrier Systems. The Bill of Lading was specific to item, class, weight, size. Item was picked up and arrived two weeks later. Two weeks AFTER that I receive notification by email that an adjustment in the amount of $782.96 was being levied against my shipment, yes 2.5X the original amount ! Stated that the weight class and the dimensions were wrong. Hmm funny they had no issues except after the fact. Out of curiosity I re-quoted on Freightquote the same trip but assumed their claimed class, dimensions and weights. THE SAME CARRIER (Frontline) that picked up the shipment in June, quotes $767 TOTAL, not the $1267 I was charged. So lets go thru this: 1) All relevant shipment information was provided both to Freightquote and transmitted to their contractor Frontline 2) Having all the relevant information Freightquote approved and carrier dutifully picked it up without complaint 3) 2 weeks after dropoff later levy a 2X surcharge, saying I got it wrong on the BOL. Thats their story and they are sticking to it. Shame on Freightquote and Frontline for their highly deceptive practices. Avoid them. Stick with legit shippers like Fedex and DHL.

Desired outcome: Cancel charge reassessment

FreightQuote.com Shipment of 1 pallet of stone

I was quoted ~$500 for a shipment of 1 pallet of stone from TN to AR. I estimated a weight of 3000 lbs for the order.

AFTER delivery, I was told my weight was over and I was being billed $2700 instead... an upcharge of > $2000! I was never warned I was going to be charged 5x the original estimate, I was never told the weight was off, just provided a lovely bill of $2700 and told "you accepted this in T&C's, deal with it."

I went and re-estimated the cost with the correct weight and the total cost should have been $700. I offered to pay an upcharge of $500, which would have been way more than the updated rates, but to no avail.

I highly recommend not shipping here, or, over estimating your weight and pay a few bucks up front to avoid thousands in price gouging after the fact!

Desired outcome: Pay a normal shipping fee vs outrageous "penalty" fee

FreightQuote.com Shipping Overcharges

A shipment to Colorado was charged to my CC (before shipping out!) for $293.40 for a US pallet 24" high. After delivery FreightQuote charged my CC for another $232.52. Bogus charges were: LTL Reclassification: $120.92, Inspection Fee: $15.00, Sort & Segregate: $96.60. Carrier was Central Transport. When contacted they said that the height of pallet was 47"! But no change in weight! Wait a second. ALL pallets in a truck occupy ONE space. They are never ever stacked so whether the height is 24" or 47" does not change anything especially since there is no charge for change of weight! This was the third time additional charges were added to our shipment with no justification whatsoever. I closed my account with them. Since then a new rep contacted me with numerous emails stating: "Will work with at costs!" Bogus!

HC Robinson (owner of the company) has sealed their scam with their lawyers, Their BOL states that you will accept ANY subsequent charges!

Stay away from this company!

Desired outcome: Refund of bogus overcharges

FreightQuote.com Delivered 7 days late and then used unauthorized credit charges over the quoted price

Quite simply Freightquote.com is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. The are dishonest as the day is long. They quoted 3 days for a shipment and 13 days later my shipment arrived. Then through the company they used "XPO" charged an extra price for taking more than 15 minute to unload one 200 lbs. pallet and further charges for not delivering to a business. At the address there where no less than six business operating out of that address. The extra charges were $162.50. If you want to burn money, these clowns will do it for. Don't trust them period. They are completely and utterly deplorable.

FreightQuote.com dishonest and misrepresenting

Horrible experience. I had been using freightquote to haul the same loads from Florida to Washington State many times and always the same product. They were always pretty close to what they quoted me within a couple hundred dollars anyway. The last time I used them they they quoted me $2250 to haul this pallet load to me in Washington, I got the bill and it was $2750, I had to pay another $500 over what they quoted me. Thats not the bad part, two weeks later I get another bill from them for an additional $2000, yes two thousand dollars... The freight carrier that they used, XPO, changed the freight classification to a much more expensive classification. I called to tell them there must have been a terrible mistake, they shuffled me to many different people and I never could get an answer how or why that happened. Especially since I had a track record of the same product being shipped and always in the $1700 to $2300 dollar range. Nothing, no response from them and nobody would help, only passed me off to different people. I didnt pay the bill as I could not pass that extra $2000 on to my customer. They turned me into collections, filed a law suit against me for the additional money. Their attorney Timothy Fafinski never even read my return complaint, total incompetence on the part of freightquote and their corporate counsel. I had to settle with them out of court for and additional $1000. Please dont use freightquote, read the rest of the complaints from the Better Business Bureau, stay away from freightquote...

FreightQuote.com shipping

Terrible choice of freight transfer, they overcharged us $160 because we didn't have a dock, but we did have a dock, they relied on google maps to look at facility and they kept claiming our facility was Public Storage next door. There are many other freight companies to get quotes from I would suggest you use them instead of these people, names are Zachary & Jodi

FreightQuote.com scam company - fraudulent billing practices

Criminals and scam company. They quote you the cheapest so you go with them. Then they charge your credit card without your permission 3 weeks later saying they misquoted you and that you owe money.

I have reported them to bank of america. Bank of america says they are criminals and reimburses you.

Also, lets team up and sue them or get them shut down for good.

Report them to your state, their state, and the u.S government.

Go to the u.S. Justice department website, your states department, fbi fraud department, and many more.

Report them and build a record for these crooks.

FreightQuote.com don't answer the phone on weekends

I've booked several deliveries through this transport company. While the customer service is generally pretty good, it's important to be aware that their phones are usually not manned after hours or on weekends. This can be really annoying for example if you want to make last minute changes to a Monday morning delivery. I once raise this with them but they said that they currently only operate during business hours. Their pricing is pretty good on pallets and bulky items, but for small stuff you're better of using Australia Post.

FreightQuote.com transportation charges

Using the change on the weight (was added 100 lbs more) that I 1st provided (1, 617 lbs) to freightquote.com, inc,
They charge 1, 000.00 usd more for the variation from 1, 617 lbs to 1, 717 lbs, when I provided the original weight was 1, 616 lbs and they quote $1, 375.00 usd (which I paid with a credit card) for the transportation from montreal, canada to hidalgo, tx. I advise about the increase of weight and I Asked for the new quotation, never received the quote, they picked up the shipment and later they billed me $1, 034.00 usd (they had my credit card Information so they charge) for the increase of 100 lbs.

I can provide emails between zach ott (he works for freightquote.com, inc) and me.

FreightQuote.com overcharged

I had asked for quote for the transportation of 3 20' containers from Houston, TX, to Miami, FL. I was told that they had to go on flatbed since they were private and modified container. Two of them were regular size and one had solar collapsible solar panels on top. The broker asked me if all loads were legal to of course I said yes. He told me that one of the containers would have to go by itself on one flatbed and the other one by itself on the other flatbed.
I was quoted 1800.00 per flatbed and my card was charged $1, 800.00 twice which was ok. One day after they were picked up, I received an e-mail with a picture of the Solar Panels container with this: "FYI this is not a legal load". I was later told that the trucking company did not have the permit to transport this container because it was too high, but they took delivery anyway and the container was blocked in Pensacola, Fl.
I was later advise that it would cost $5, 200.00 to have a crane load it on another lower flatbed and haul to Miami. I answered that before doing anything I would call Pensacola and find out exactly what happened and how to resolve it. After "consulting with a supervisor" the broker told me that they had already paid the new transporter and there was no need for me to talk to the supervisor. After I specifically said that I will not authorize the charge, the container was delivered to me the next day.
To my big surprise I received an e-mail on SUNDAY NIGHT which mentioned that my card would be charged the $5, 200.00 anyway because the ORIGINAL Trucking company had extra charges for that amount. As you can imagine I rejected it and will not accept it.

FreightQuote.com shipping delay

Paid for delivery with Freightquote.com. Hired 2 laborers to assist with unloading the merchandise on the expected delivery date. When the end of the day arrived and the delivery was still pending, I called Freight Quote in inquire if the shipment was lost or delayed. The CS rep told me that the carrier reports the shipment is still an entire state away and the shipment will be delivered tomorrow.

Freightquote.com caused me to waste resources due to not notifying me that the shipment would be delayed. When I mentioned this to the CS rep, I was told that was the nature of the business. I have to disagree and when I am done with this shipment, I will never use their service again!

Buyer beware!

Contracted with Freightquote to ship a small pallet approximately 150miles in northern california. Both ship from and ship to address are commericial with loading docks and forklifts. Pallet dim., weight, class all were correct. Contract price was $137.86.

Approximately 3 weeks after delivery was charged an additional $145.00 on the credit card for noncommericial delivery with lift gate service.

Contacted the recipent and confirmed they unloaded with their forklift and confirmed their business license with the city and state.

Have disputed the additional charges with the credit card company and filed a complaint with the BBB.

Having a business license does NOT make it a commercial delivery! It is the location that determines that, where it is and what is on the property and surrounding it. Just Googlemap it and see if it has a residence on site, or residential or rural surroundings. That makes it NOT on the driver's normal business delivery route, and has to be on a different truck. And unfortunately, if the consigned signed for the lift gate service on the Delivery Receipt, the carrier will charge for it. You just have to have your rep contact the carrier to try to reach the local delivery terminal's dispatcher to contact the driver to get him to remember it wasn't used, then dispute the charge.

But stop blaming a broker for things that happen on the ground, or from the carrier's billing operations! You wouldn't blame Travelocity if Delta charged you for an extra suitcase after the fact, would you?

FreightQuote.com - dishonest business

Stay away from Freigthquote.com...they will lie, charge your Credit Card month later for "extra charges", charge your Credit Card in error, take up to 3 weeks to issue a refund. Dealt with them for painful 6 months, 90% of transactions I had to call customer service to get something fixed. They like to blame the trucking companies but they are the one...

FreightQuote.com bad service

We tried using Freight Quote on regular shipments we do for customer. The first 2 shipments were ok.. The succeeding shipments were horrible/. Freight Quote does not update tracking information and do not inform shipper or customer if there are delays or appointment pick-up &/or delivery are not made!.

They have no understanding of timeline, transit time, delivery commitment, customer service and account preservation/. They lure you through dirt cheap pricing and of course, comes the bad and unprofessional service:.

PLEASE DO NOT USE FREIGHT QUOTE'. FREIGHT QUOTE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE TRANSPORTATION & SERVICE INDUSTRY". Use Freight Quote and it'll guarantee that you will lose your customer.

FreightQuote.com doubled the price 2wks after delivery

Freightquote.com is very dishonest, they give you a quote, pick up your freight, deliver the freight and then 2 weeks later change the price and say it is not thier problem the class was put in wrong and had to be changed and carrier they used went up on the price. They said pay the quoted amount and we will talk to the carrier about the this. After we paid they said sorry nothing we can do and start with harassment calls from them and a collection company. No matter how many times you call they can never give a straight answer just that you will have to pay the new price. I find this very dishonest and will never use this company again and hope no one else will fall for this. Do not use a middle man only use well known freight comapnies.

It is too bad you know nothing about shipping freight. If YOU give someone incorrect information for a shipment, or set it up wrong yourself online, resulting in the wrong freight class being entered into the rating system that gives you the originally quoted price, then of course the carrier will adjust the price in the billing process! Just like if you told Freightquote that your freight weighs only 200 pounds, then is found later at the carrier terminal to actually be 500 pounds, of course the carrier will adjust your price! Stop blaming the innocent for your ignorance!

FreightQuote.com poor service

Many other people have complained about Freightquote's domestic freight forwarding services, but their international service is equally shoddy. A first-time shipper, I engaged them to ship a container of used clothing to Kenya. They failed to arrange for any of the services required to import goods, including the universal one of fumigation to prevent insect infestation. They failed to provide the documentation the Kenya customs broker told them about. They assured me that the ship would arrive in mid-December 2010. It finally arrived at the end of January 2011. This caused major financial loss to me. Most maddening of all, they never returned my increasingly frantic phone calls and e-mails asking what was going on during this period, except for a snippy one-liner: "We are not responsible for shipping schedules." So incompetence + utter indifference to customer service = a company that no international shipper should even think about using.

FreightQuote.com wrong back charges

I was using them for the convenience and promises for too long... Stays away from this reap off company. I was fooled into using them and end up paying twice for almost every shipment that went through. They give a good rate upfront and then unreasonably back charge on anything they can and even cannot. It may be a two inch for dimensions or 10 lb. for wait or change in class. Since this happens after the fact you cannot double check the weight or dimension. My favorite is class change: you give them correct description and they pick up the class, then they change the class and charge you up to Triple..!? of the original cost. Also, they charged twice for the same shipment on two separate occasions. Took long time to clear these situations… Crooks...!

FreightQuote.com don't use

Our company ships LTL on a daily basis. Freightquote.com does not perform as a professional group. They change delivery zip codes, weights add accessorial charges for basic stuff. On occasion, issues can be resolved through complaints, but who has time to complain on a constant basis. Generally, less than half of the quotes are actually billed at the price quoted. We have had the same customer service rep. for several years. Recently, I received a phone call from another customer service rep. to see what could be done to get more of our business. First shipment after that conversation and there were two out of four changes to BOL.

Facebook Brick,

You clearly show your credibility as a reliable source by calling someone a sack-rider and jagoff. Congratulations! You have not only slandered one person with this article in a public forum, but now you have two. Let's do some fact checking here. People are leaving BlueGrace pretty fast you say? So a company that had 25 employees in 2009 and now has 85 in 2010 my oh my we must be jumping ship fast over here! As far as franchising it must be real "Crap" that a 80 million dollar a year company with no debt is going to start franchising also. I like how you use possevive adjective such as "our" for a company that you think is so terrible to work for. I believe that you were fired for not performing to expectations and now you are jobless and all you have to do all day is write slanderous materials on complaint boards behind a fake name. Sorry the wave was too big for you to ride.

Check ya later!

I think Dustin is a sack-rider for Bluegrace and Tim Barton needs to sue Bluegrace for these lies. Check out this report I found about Bluegrace. Dustin is full of it. Bluegrace is on a last ditch effort to stay open.

I hear Bluegrace is expanding their MercuryGate reseller platform to start franchising. I think that is crap. As you will see below, BlueGrace is knowingly hiring a pedophile who was convicted of fondling a 12 year old female!

You wold think a 5 year stint as a felon would have showed up on this application. I have started seeing pricing going up and up and I cannot get a clear answer why. I think it is because they are hiring some jagoff to help expand our company. I think that our carriers are raising rates. I noticed some price increases that I did not know about until AFTER the shipment was moving.

I cannot see how our company could expand when we do not have our own software, crappy rates and inhuman support from our corporate office.

I heard through the grapevine staff are looking and leaving us pretty fast. With the poorest decisions being made, I feel that my life here is going to be extremely short as well. I cannot keep losing clients to other companies.

IF OUR RATES KEEP GOING UP AND OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POOR DECISIONS KEEP HAPPENING, BLUEGRACE WILL BE MERELY A MEMORY!

THE REASON FOR THIS POST, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR EMPLOYMENT, I SUGGEST THAT YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO BE IF YOU ARE LOOKING LONG TERM.

FreightQuote.com use at your own risk!

I have used Freightquote twice..they came highly recommended by two companies I do business with. First transaction...flawless, this last one however, an absolute nightmare.

What was supposed to be a 1 day transit and delivery time turned into over a week! They blamed everyone they could except for themselves! It was nothing but run arounds, excuses and false information! They were extremely unhelpful and offered little assistance in resolving the matter with my delivery...even told me there was nothing they could do.

I even paid for guaranteed delivery, which did not happen. The dishonesty from them was appalling. I also filed a complaint with them because the first rep that I dealt with used profanity with me!

As a medium sized company that ships via ups on a daily basis, the need for a freight delivery does come up for us. However, I can say, I will never use their service again. This is definitely a company to use at your own risk!

They even had the nerve to send me an invoice for the service...service I did not receive!

I would guess this comment is made by Sam Warhol as he has the worse skills for customer service. Only a company with horrible customer service would allow their employees to talk to the customers the way Sam does. Brokers or not, if you are providing the service then you are in the loop and need to help. You cant run and cry its the shippers fault if you are facilitating the process (getting paid). If I take payment to sell something for a 3rd party, then I am in the loop and cant put all the blame on one party or the other and I would be culpable too. Basic business and well as basic law.

NO YOU ARE IGNORANT. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE OUT OF HUNDREDS DEFENDING THE SCAM COMPANY FREIGHTQUOTE.COM

BEWARE OF FREIGHTQUOTE.COM

THEY DO NOT FULFILL THEIR SERVICES AND CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD MONTHS LATER.

THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLACING BLAME ON BROKERS. THEY ARE JUST INCOMPETENT AND CROOKS.

SO STOP DEFENDING THEM... "FrequentShipper" ( you have commented on everyone that says anything bad about FREIGHTQUOTE.COM without even reading the complaint!

One of the worst companies we've dealt with ever. We used them several times over the years. Most shipments were okay and others had relatively minor problems. Most problems were related to unreliable pick-ups. BUT 4 months ago we had our nightmare shipment with them. We were quoted around $300 for a shipment. However, when we were billed out the total came to nearly $640! We filed a complaint through their dispute process. We (the shipper) were considered guilty until proven innocent. We were asked to provide documentation, which we did. We were informed that the documentation was not satisfactory and we needed to provide additional documentation... which we did (exactly what documentation they requested). After 4 months in the dispute cycle we were informed that our dispute was denied. Why? We were sent the carriers response which basically only stated that they measured our package. BOTTOM LINE... their dispute process is a JOKE! As you can read from others, the carrier will often unjustly bump up the weight and/or freight class and you get the bill that is 140% more than what you were quoted.
DON'T USE FREIGHTQUOTE... save yourself the headache & the money by going elsewhere!

Yet again, someone is ignorantly blaming the broker, in this case Freightquote. The adjustments come directly from the carriers, NOT the broker, but Freightquote tries their best to fight it for you. If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you simply need to take your fight and your complaint to the carrier. Educate yourself to realize how the process works and stop blaming the wrong party. Stop badmouthing the wrong party—so unfair and wrong of you!

I was given a ocean freight rate without proper licensing from FMC and the rates were astronomical. If you go to the www.fmc.gov website they are not listed as a licensed NVOCC or Freight Forwarder. The FMC is adamant about companies being fully licensed in order to perform ocean shipping to and from USA ports. If in fact they operate as brokers then they should be presenting rates on behalf of the carrier with full disclosure and payment should be made to the carrier. They said they work with many shipping companies but would not disclose with which ones and they did not realize that their procedure for shipping is deficient to say the least.

Got a call from a guy at FreightQuote saying that our freight handlers gave them our information for them to contact us for our freight needs...first of all they didn't even realize that we didn't use freight regularly (only around once every two -three years) which if they had actually received that information from our regular handlers they would have realized and second when we contacted our regular handlers they said they did no such thing, why would they send our business to someone else?

We had a similar problem. Got a quote from FreightQuote and shipped through them. Two weeks later, we got a bill from them for almost as much as the original quote (in other words, they wanted us to pay almost twice as much), based upon a "re-weigh" of our shipment.

Here's the sort of funny part... When I got the quote, and the FreightQuote rep asked me how much it weighed, I said, "about 250 lbs.". He said, "Let's say 244, because a round number like that sends up a red flag.".
Okay.
Now, according to the re-weigh, the weight was a ROUND NUMBER of 400 lbs.
In checking the shipment again, I set up a spread sheet and weighed EVERYTHING individually, including an identical pallet and identical lumber used to do the crate, as well as the contents. Actual result: 275 lbs.
When I informed FreightQuote of what I did and the result, they relayed it to Old Dominion and O.D. replied that we'd need to supply pre- printed literature for them to consider. But that's not possible, because we are the manufacturer of the item and it was part of an item. In other words, no literature on it as it was shipped.
I offered to weigh everything again and shoot a video of it, but to no avail.
So, we're refusing to pay this bill.

If you had *actually* paid for a guaranteed shipment, then you would have either gotten fully reimbursed, or reimbursed down to the amount of a normal shipment without the guarantee. Guaranteed shipments only guarantee the *transit time*--never the pickup date or delivery date (in case they pick up late), and all guarantees can be voided for delays due to weather/Acts of God. These are the rules made BY THE CARRIERS, not Freightquote! There is no manager at Freightquote that would deny your refund if it falls within those guidelines, so you should speak with your rep's manager.

Guess what? You and most of the complainers here need to learn the rules of shipping. And you need to realize that Freightquote (or any other broker) does not cause the adjustments--the carriers do! So this would have happened if you had called the carrier directly to ship this product. And *ALL* claims and disputes require documentation, which you failed to provide. Stop blaming the innocent with your ignorance!

I think my nightmare out weighs all the other ones with Freightquote.com. We have a furniture store in N.C and sold a sectional sofa on Ebay. It took two boxes and total weight was 287lbs. The 1st bill we got had said that we shipped 4 boxes and was 500lbs more than agreed upon and the bill reflected that.I had to send them a copy of the signed invoice from the driver showing there was only 2 boxes picked up. They did correct the number of boxes but still insisted I was 500lbs over weight. I explained to them that if the number of boxes went down then the weight should as well but for some reason they could not grasp that. Long story short, I now have to deal with collections and phone calls for money I do not owe and refuse to pay. What a company! We now use a diffrent company and do about 14, 000.00 a month with them and have never had one problem. All these shipments could have been theres every month but instead they are hounding me over a few hundred dollars I do not owe, someone there needs to be fired.
