SCAM. They are trying to sell you magazines after first telling you that you are eligible for winnings of up to 100, 000 in a sweepstake. Better Business Bureau website gives them horrible ratings: http://westflorida.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=47&bbb=0653&firm=48001382.

Got a yellow postcard in the mail that reads just as everyone else. Only difference was the name. It was "signed" Danielle Craft. Glad I checked it out before I called.

I got one of F.R.C.'s yellow cards in the mail today [protected]. I tried calling the number [protected] and all I got was some bad music. I don't know what the good news was supposed to be because after 3 minutes of listening to the same crappy music nobody answered the phone.

What should I do?

I recieved the yellow post card in the mail from this company that i've never even heard of, much less had any affiliation with. Google led me to numerous warnings about the "company" and the people running it. Don't call the number and most importantly don't give them any information what so ever. The city on mine was Clearwater Fl. and the phone number was [protected]. If I can help one person by posting this, then I have succeeded.

I received a yellow card stating this company is trying to reach me with good news. It seemed odd. They give an 877 number to call with a control number. It's "signed" by Danielle Craftt. Apparently it's a scam because there is no information about this company online. Glad I entered the address in and found this site!

Thank you all! I got the yellow post card today (08/10/09) from FRC 1381 South Missouri Avenue in Clearwater, Florida [protected] with other numbers under the address asking me to call [protected] with a control number. After reading all this, the post card is going in the trash! GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Glad I checked here before calling that stupid number on that stupid yellow postcard!
Talk about baiting an unsuspecting caller for a sales pitch since sales telemarketers aren't supposed to call you unless you have an established relationship with them and this postcard would be the perfect loop hole!
My postcard was printed with the name Michelle Barbaa, how about anyone else? What names are on you postcards, maybe we can give a little taste of their own medicine, hehe...

F.R.C. Yellow Postcard

I received the same little yellow post card. It was "signed" by Danielle Craft. I did call the number but only got a busy signal. I am just curious what is the scam? Has anyone spoken to a human when calling the number on the card.

F.R.C. F.R.C. Yellow Postcard

I received a postcard today from Danielle Craft saying they have good news and have been trying to contact me. Search results online turned up that this is some kind of scam so I am glad I didn't call. Like others, I am puzzled as to how they received my name, however they used my birth name, middle initial, and last name. I enter many sweepstakes online and also request samples from various websites. I do all this using my nickname. Off the top of my head, one of the few things I did using my FULL BIRTH NAME were wedding regitstry things, including registering at a "bridal bazzar" event (which yielded many, many mailing lists and phone call solicitations). I'm wondering if this is how they received my info.

I called in deep curiosity I didn't give them any card information thankfully, they said that a credit card company gave them my information and wanted me put in a sweepstakes, I'm going to cancel the "free" subscriptions to magazines that they are sending me. But they are also sending me a watch which I assume is fake and I don't care about.

They also said that they were the Family Reading Council as something. Sadly I called but I didn't give out any card information, the strange thing was that they had my married name on it.

I wouldn't recommend calling, I feel like I'm in a horrible trap since I let curiosity get the better of me. I don't ecpect to win at all.

Now, I did not call. I looked it up and my suspicions that it was a scam were confirmed. I am very peeved and do not know how they got my name.

amazing iam from the bronx new york and i got the same yellow card and I think the scam that they have going is when you call that number you are actually activating a credit card. Some credit card company sends you a credit card but when you receive it. It tells you to call to activiate.

I got the same thing and I am linking it to the American Shopping Center. If you have not gotten this info from them then let me tell you they claim that you have won something whatever it could be toilet paper for all I care but anyway after they tell you that you have one you have to pay this pathetic shipping price. I actually have gotten phone calls from them plenty of times and they are beyond annoying and the one time I thought I thought I be smoth and play there game I get this dumb yellow card. I strongly believe they are linked and if they are reading this believe me not I will find you and make sure you are out behind bars were you can become somebody's B.I.T.C.H!

Received a YELLOW Postcard from this company, with title Good News! then instructions to call the 877 number which gives you a control number and the same person Michelle Barbaa. This is some sort of scam, I never do business in Florida. But if receive this post card do not call or give these people any personal information of yours.

F.R.C. Scam advertising!

I got the same yellow postcard, but mine has an 877 number and then the control number under it. I went online to yellowpages.com and it came up with no results for F.R.C. in Clearwater, FL. So then I went to Google and typed in the name and address of the company and found this site. I figured it was a scam because I have never sent anything to Clearwater, FL ever and I don't know any Michell Barbaa. Not only that 877 numbers aren't always free.

I received a yellow post card in the mail from Clearwater, Fl. It was addressed to me and it said 'We are trying to reach you with Good News! It is really important that you call us. Call toll free [protected]. Control #[protected] Thanks Michelle Barbaa Call 10 am to 8:30 pm EST Monday thru Friday'

The first thing that I wanted to know was what the company wanted with me and what kind of company that it was, so I searched for it and found this web site. I wouldn't have called the number anyway due to the fact that if it seems too good to be true it usually is. I found that other people have gotten yellow post cards and reported the company as scam artists. This company used the name F.R.C. and the address 1381 S Missouri Ave, Clearwater, Fl. Apparently this company has been doing this for a long time because the address on my post card and the name did not match any of the other reports that I read so they must change their names and addresses frequently. I decided to post this so other people could see that the name and address is different and that the company was trying to scam people by changing their information on a regular basis.

I received this same yellow card in the mail yesterday 6/1/09. I live in Austin, Texas. This is a scam. I wish they would stop sending this junk mail to me. When I never gave any of my information to anyone. How did they get this information unless they went to a mailing list that they purchase. I don't know any Michelle Barbaa in Clearwater, FL..
and I have never heard of F.R.C. until on went onto this online. Our local news here in Austin has been mentioning alot about this scam and how these people trying to get our money and our Social Security and bank accounts and stealing our idenity and money from our bank accounts. Don't ever give out this information to anyone. I suggest you file this with the Better Business Beureau and if you have a news channel like Austin does 7 on yourside will investigate this scam. Good luck! This is just another scam. DON'T DO IT.

My husband and i use to have a capital one card and we canceled it and have moved twice since having it and we received this yellow card in the mail. I receive scams in the mail at least once a month, so i check everything out that i don't recognize. Our residence was built just two or three years ago. Sounds like they target new addresses and capital one customers. I think any organization can get a public mailing list from the U.S. postal service for mail advertisement. I read that some companies lose privilages due to false advertisement, the postal service has a code ethics. Capital one is a very dishonest company and they have lawsuits against them all the time. google Capital one settlements or lawsuits. I met someone years after we canceled our Capital one card and they had a class action lawsuit against them with a group of friends.
