FotoConnection.com I would sugget avoiding this store

First, I thought this webstore is better because they will call you to confirm the order. However, what I just found today is they don't have my ordered camerea after they told me they will ship the camera a week ago. They even don't bother informing you that they don't have camera until I called them.

Maybe they have cheap price in electronics. However, the price of these consumer electronics is still not cheap in a normal household monthly expense budget.

I would sugget avoiding this store because I am not sure if this is a real honest store.

My son made an online purchase and was totally scammed. What he ordered is completely different than what he received and 2 of the items are unusable because they are in JAPANEZE! There is a billing disrepancy of over $1000 in what he was told it would cost and what the packing slip total is to what the credit card was charged. This has been a horrible experience...DO NOT SHOP HERE! TOTAL RIP OFF!

Under no circumstance should you purchase a camera from fotoconnection.com This company does a very poor job in customer service. In purchasing a camera it is expected to arrive in prestine condition and all parts. MISSING PARTS should be the responsibility of the company. The company had the audacity to require a restocking fee for return of missing items never sent.

I purchased a GPS from fotoconnection.com, and I called them the day I received it because it didn't work. Would not even turn on. They will accept a return, but they require me to pay a 15% restocking fee, will not refund the shipping charge, and on top of that, I have to pay for the return shipping. The only other option is to return this to the manufacturer at my expense.

Ordered a LCD TV from this company and they have been telling me for 10 days that it has shipped. The provide a tracking number but it has never been picked up from the company for delivery. Everytime I call back to inquire or send an email I get excuses. I have asked to cancel the order and for a refund but they will not honor my request.

These guys are rip off artists; they advertise low prices, but don't deliver. Then they call you and try to sell you junk; I wanted 2 day shipping and not only did they not ship in 2 days; they didn't ship at all and then called and try to sell other stuff, and I doubt they had the camera anyway. I would never use them and hope no one else does either and hope they go out of business and to jail.

The WORST customer service I have EVER encountered on the internet! Don't be fooled by their low prices, most of the deals are Bait-&-Switch! I called for some issues on a camera I purchased, they hung up on me. Extreamly RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL! Don't buy from them, or you will regret!

FotoConnection.com Online scam

I ordered a video camera of off fotoconnection.com Then 2 days later I get an email claiming I need to call to confirm my order. There was an extension and name listed. After being on hold for 10 mins, I got some guy, who is a typical jerk sales guy that tells me I forgot to order a battery with my video camera. I said, the factory sealed video camera I bought doesn't come with a battery? He said, well it does but it is only a 20 minute battery. I work in the video industry and there is no battery that lasts only 20 minutes that comes from the factory, this was backed up by the camera maker. The guys was just trying to upsell me on something on I ordered days earlier online by misleading me. When you order something online, you do that so that you don't have to talk to jerk sales guys who mislead you. Don't order from fotoconnection.com.

FotoConnection.com Fraud & cheating!

I made the mistake to go online to buy a digital camera to replace a stolen one. What a world! I found on google search engine fotoconnection.com to have the camera that I was looking for at an attractive price. Once in fotoconnection.com I checked carefully the content of the purchase, so I decided to place my order.

The next day it was weird because they sent to me around a dozen of emails asking me to confirm my order, telling me that I had two choices and needed to call them as soon as possible, then another message saying again they were out of stock, and again more messages inviting me to confirm my oder again. I thought It was weird and crazy; however, good practice to ask clients to confirm orders by phone to make sure there is no crime involved in the purchase.

In fact this is one of the many emails as they sent it to me:

Dear Ramon,
Thank you for your order. In order to promptly process your order, please call me Jack at, [protected] Ext. 2032. to confirm your order information, in order to ensure prompt delivery of your order.
I am available Monday Thursday 9:30 AM EST 8:00 PM EST Time
Sunday and Friday 10:00 AM EST - 6:00 PM EST Time
Order #: 369098
Account ID #: Invoice Number: 278691
Placed on: Jan/11/08

Continuing with my experience. I had decided to call them to find out was going on, and I had made my mind to cancel, or if the had the camera I would order it; so I called Jack. I confronted an uncomfortable and scary experience by phone. I asked him if they had the camera in stock and he said, 'yes we do' then he started to offer me more accessories as batteries and memory cards on sale for the camera.

As I had already checked them out on the website; but couldn't afford them. Therefore my answer was 'No thank you I want just the camera itself' He said well the camera doesn't have memory card. I said ' Yes as you advertised it, it has one with less memory' Then he replied 'No it doesn't have any'. Then he asked 'Do you speak Chinese' and I answered 'No, I speak Spanish' Then he continued 'the camera has instructions and functions in Chinese'. I got upset and responded to him ' I want you to cancel my order, please' He got mad and replied well I am going to take 20% of the price from your credit card because you are canceling an order'. I told him that is not fair because they had not packed yet anything for me. And he ended the phone conversation sarcastically saying 'Sure we will' and hanged up.

I got very worried about them having my credit card number, so I immediately called to report my credit card, and decided to cancel right away that credit card. It seems that I was faster then they were. I already review in this site other fraud reports against http://www.fotoconnection.com. I just want to report them, so somebody may help to prosecute them for being cheaters, liars, thieves, scammers and so on on the internet.

I called to order a Canon 50D camera. It was confirmed to be in stock. I was told to order it on line. I did making copies of the web pages with full product descriptions and the order page. In about 2 mins after the order was placed I got a call telling me they received the order and would I like a battery as the one that comes with the camera lasts 10-15min? I have the same battery in an Canon 20D and know this to be a lie. I said no thanks. Then I was told this camera is the foreign plastic body and would I like to have the USA magnesium body? I said they only are magnesium and there are not 2 different types. So I will take the USA model as this was what the website said I ordered. They said I would have to pay $200+ more to get the USA model. I said I ordered this model and would not pay more. They said I would have to pay more, so I told them to cancel my order and that I better not see any charges to my credit card. They said fine. I hung up and within 30 sec's they called back to ask me if I would still like the full USA model and now it was at my original order price. I said fine. On my order I commented that I was paying for the fast shipping time and was expecting to have it in 1 week at the latest.

I called on mon 3 days later to add an item but they did not have it so I said fine forget it. I then asked to know when my camera would ship? They said they did not have it in stock. They did not know when they would have it in stock so I would have to wait. I then reminded them that when I ordered it was in stock and that the comment section of my order had my expectations spelled out. He was sorry but they were out of stock. I then told him to cancel my order where he then told me I would have to pay $300 more to get this camera from B&H. He said I got a great deal so why would I want to cancel? He then said If I was willing to I could get it in 3 days from him for $250 more. I then said so what you are saying is that you do have it in stock you just don't what to honor your sale to me at the agreed upon price? I told him to cancel and send be an Email confirming my canceled order. They did in about 1 min.

These guys are out right liars. They use bait and switch tactics and will lie to hopefully get you to pay for the things that come with the camera. They close on Saturday most likely due to religious beliefs. What hypocracy.
If you buy from these guys you are asking for trouble.

On 11/23/2008 i was browsing on their website and found a camera that i wanted to buy. That specific webpage clearly stated "order before 3pm 11/24/2008 and choose 2 day shipping to receive order before thanksgiving". This camera was a surprise and i wanted it to be a thanksgiving surprise. The next day 11/24/2008 i receive a call saying they wanted to confirm my CC information. Then the upselling started, telling me that the battery that came with only lasted 20 minutes, etc... and basically talked me into upgrading the battery (which was not necessary i later found out). Then they wanted me to get the largest memory card possible, etc...

After spending the money to upgrade all of those things, i was told that the items would be shipped out that day and i would definitely get them before thanksgiving. The next day 11/25/2008 i get a call in the morning telling me that the camera i wanted was out of stock and that it had to be drop shipped. The charge to drop ship would be $40 on top of the $20 overnight charge. The sales person promised me that i would receive the order before thanksgiving on the 26th and that it would ship out right away! I figured as long as i got the items. $60 wasn't TOO big of deal.

7pm, 11/26/2008 there's no fedex delivery. I call customer service and ask for a tracking #. They said that they dont have it and that they will send it to me as soon as they get it. I asked them about what they promised me and said there's nothing they can do. They said they will get the tracking number and will send it to me after they get it before the end of the day. 8:30 rolls around and no tracking #. I called the customer service number back and asked for my salesperson. The guy said "he's gone, i'm his manager, what can i do for you?". I tried to ask him the status of my order and he says "i dont have access to a computer, call back tomorrow". I told him that i was promised the order today and that tomorrow was thanksgiving. He said "we'll be open! call back tomorrow" and hung up.

I try calling back the next day only to get their automated system saying that they were closed. Same thing i got on the day after thanksgiving.

I end up receiving the camera on Friday 11/28/2008. I'm thinking if i get the accessories today, then i just wont make a fuss. It's only one business day late.

Over the weekend i end up getting a tracking # that cannot be tracked via the UPS website. it says that there's no information on that package.

I call up customer service 12/01/2008 and the guy says "how can i help you?" i explained to him the situation and how i paid $60 for shipping after TWICE promising the item to arrive before thanksgiving. He asks "did you get an e-mail confirming your tracking information?" i said "yes" he then started to yell "So what's your problem? we sent you your items didn't we?" I asked him to stop yelling and then he goes back to a normal voice saying "i'm not yelling". He then says "what's the problem?" I told him the problem was that i was promised twice that i would receive the item before thanksgiving and the website said if i ordered before a certain date, i was guaranteed the item. I not only paid upgraded shipping, but it's been a WEEK later and i still have not received all of my items. Items that they should've had in stock that were not drop shipped! He then goes on to say in a rude voice "credit card processing takes time you know?" Yea right~! 4 days? My card was already charged. I know that it isn't still processing.

He then promises that i will get the items today. and apologizes for the delay. I asked him if he was going to apologize for the way he talked to me? he says "what did i say?"

I did not notice all of the negetive reviews on this company until i searched for them. There are HUNDREDS of bad reviews and they get so many complaints a week it's not even funny. I definitely recommend to stay away from this company. When my items get here, i feel as if they should offer me my shipping charge back. I was promised that i would receive the items by a certain date if i paid $60 only to receive them almost a week later than the promised date. Actually, i haven't received them yet. I only have half of the order so far.

I ordered two cameras online, but received and email that I had to call Victor in order for this order to be processed.
Instead he called me and tried to push additional items that were on special and that the camera did not have memory. I already knew that, but he insisted. I told him that all I wanted was the two retail cameras that I placed the order for and his response was that these camera were Japanese and not retail. At this point I didn't want the cameras and wanted him to cancel my order. He then recommended that he could provide me with the retail cameras for more money at a discount. I refused and he hung up the phone on me. I later responded to their email to make sure they have canceled my order as requested on the phone and received a reply that they would not cancel by email and that I must call a different number + extension. I tried that number and no answer. Something is very wrong with this company and people should stay away.

To prevent possible fraud and the fact they have my credit card information, I have canceled my card so no unauthorized charges are to be processed.

Ordered online, so wasn't bait N Switched. BUT after waiting 3 weeks for product to arrive, I called for status of order. Was told my order was shipped and should arrive shortly. Another week passed and I called again. This time they told me my order was cancelled because they could not find the electric range they advertised and sold me. This really disrupted my plans to rent out this apartment. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS NOTIFY ME VIA PHONE, EMAIL, US MAIL ... WHATERVER that they were not going to fulfill this order. WHAT A ### COMPANY !

Don't buy from these pieces of _ _ _ _. I read the reviews, and it looked like they were getting better these days, but was I wrong. I got a good deal on the camera, but was talked into buying a Canon battery, with buy one get one free, and some Gogigi high speed memory cards, also buy one get one free. He also talked me into a quick charge for ten dollars. They sent me one Tech batter (9.99), and two Transcend SD cards, which were much cheaper. There was no quick charger. I called, and the first guy said...well you got one battery, and one is in the camera. The jerk then handed me to someone else, who said he would send out the right battery, and the memory cards, to make the deal even. I never received it, and they dont answer my calls now. (they must have the caller ID) . These pieces of _ _ _ _ should not be alive. I plan on going to New York soon, and play on talking to these jerks face to face...I can't wait.

Called them before ordering to check stock. Was told Canon G10 is on stock. I called back 5 days later to check on order and they told me the camera I ordered was back-ordered. But that there is a metal case version for $40 extra. (THIS IS A LIE. Canon does not make 2 models). I re-placed the order anyway and called back after 4 days to check on status. Was told by a rude representative that the item is back-ordered. No extra words or offer to help solve the problem. Canceled the order and will never ever shop there again.

11/11/07 I ordered a Canon Rebel Xti. On 11/12 I get a call from Foto Connection. They stated the silver boby was not made any more(untrue) and I could only get black. I agreed to the balck model. The next words out of his mouth was I needed to upgrade the battery. I declined the offer. He was relentless. He said he would send me a 4hr battery which was regular 79.99 for 49.99. I was at work at the time(pressed for time) so I agreed. The camera arrived quickly, in 4 days.I was so excited. When I open the package I was taken back a bit. They had sent me a Canon Kiss. (I did some researce and discover this was a off shore model identical to Xti, warranty issues may be only difference). I decided I would live with this. I looked for my upgrade battery and only found what appearded to be the box kit battery. I haved used the camera for a week now and LOVE this camera! The battery is only a 1 hour battery not the 2-4 hour as told. Foto Connection advertised the lowest price on this item but by the time I was ripped off on the battery, it cost the same THINK TWICE about a company that works like this!

I don't think there is anyway I can put into words how overwhelmingly negative my experience was with this company. They are the reason that people fear buying over the internet.

They called me twice trying to upsell me.

They changed my order.

They changed my price.

Of the two items I ordered, they sent me one, and it was wrong.

They told me I was wrong and that I should want what they sent me.

They told me I should have done my research and that they didn't even stock the item that they sent me.

They didn't send me my other item at all.

After days of calling/asking they told me it was on back order (even though they previously told me it shipped).

They didn't want to return the wrong item or refund me for either when I wanted to cancel my order, telling me they couldn't because they would lose money.

It took me a minute to write this, but it took hours of my time on the phone and weeks of waiting to get here and I still haven't gotten my refund.

I beg you to buy from somewhere else - this the last company on the internet you shoudl be supporting.

I had a very bad experience with FotoConnection.com . I placed an order for a new Sharp 32" HDTV on 12/19/2008 and received it on 1/2/2009 (after 15 days). The driving distance between Brooklyn, NY and my house in CT is 1 hour. The box looked very suspicious for a brand new TV. There was no indication on the box what is inside, except the word "sharp". I called Sharp USA Inc. and gave them a serial number for this TV and they said that this is a REFURBISHED TV. So, I paid for a brand new TV and received a refurbished! This is simply called "Consumer fraud".

The FotoConnection.com agreed to do a full refund for me. Be very careful with this company because something similar could happened to you too.

Both my father and I wanted a Panasonic camera for $185.00. This company had the best deal with additional 'free' items, shipping wasn't bad either. Monday after the holiday, they mysteriously weren't available and we could 'upgrade to the level of camera' for an additional cost. Even though the website said they were still available. This business of bait and switch isn't legal nor is it good company practice. Then they try to presure the buyer into an extended warranty that they can get elsewhere for less than $25. I will NEVER deal with them again. WE cancelled both of our orders after never getting any email that they were going to be shipped within 2 weeks of placing our orders. They REALLY need to improve their business practices.

FotoConnection.com Terrible experience

I placed an order online with FotoConnection.com. The next day we called to confirm that the item was in stock and after waiting on hold for 2-1/2 hours we hung up and began researching this company online. We found tons of complaints about this company on resellerratings.com. We became alarmed and
immediately sent fotoconnection.com an email requesting to cancel the order.

I also immediately called them and as soon as I told them that I wanted to cancel the order, they told me that they were transferring me to customer service, where we (my husband and I took turns) sat on hold for 2-1/2 hours. The recording told us that we were first in line. I called while my husband was on hold and was also put on hold & "1st in line". They have an option to hold or enter your phone number for a return call. I attempted 3 times and it would not accept my number. I called again and asked for sales, I asked for help and explained that we've been on hold etc and all he said "please hold". While on hold for 2-1/2 hours I sent emails informing them of such (please see below). Today my husband spoke to Victor at fotoconnection to cancel and he said "ok". My husband didn't feel as if he was going to cancel the order and attempted to cancel the order via an online chat (see below). This company has a $10k hold on our credit card, we called the credit card company and they can't doing anything about the hold until the actually charge our card, then we have to dispute the charge. Because of the hold we can't use our card because with the hold we don't have enough credit. We are at a complete loss as to what to do. I don't understand how companies in THIS COUNTRY can continue to get away with such fraud. Any advise or assistance you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Marie Bajc

On 6/1/09 I placed an internet order with fotoconnection.com, for a digital SLR camera with a specific lens. The total cost was ~$1000. The next day a salesman from the company called me to confirm the order. I confirmed it. He suggested I buy a better lens, some accessories and a warranty. I declined to do so. He said the order would be shipped out immediately and that I should receive it in 7-10 days. I complained that the promotion with the camera stated that I would get "free expedited 3 day shipping". He said that was true, and that he was sorry for the mistake. It has been 11 days now and I have not received anything. I went back to the website, to my personal account. The account stated that once the camera was shipped, a tracking number would appear "in the box" and would also be emailed to me. The box was empty and nothing has been emailed to me. I contacted my VISA credit card company and nothing has been charged to my card.
I am about to go away on a trip and need that camera in a few days. Clearly I will not be getting it. Please pass on this info about Fotoconnection.com.
