Foster Ford of Holton KS / not wanting to honor their word
I bought a 2004 F150 from Foster Ford one month ago. The truck was scheduled 3 days later to be serviced to apply a tail gate cap, replace light in instrument panel and check on a noise in the motor. I was told the truck "would be right" when it was ready to leave the lot. The noise in the motor is a cam timing sensor. A 2 yr, 24 month warrenty was verbally offered if this noise couldnt be fixed, but then was retracted when I was told this was a $1100 cost and that it would not be done since it did not harm the performance of the motor, but if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for this myself.
I was again scheduled to have the truck in to have the light replaced on the instrument panel. When they went in to replace they found that it was not just the light, but the entire cluster. This was to be a $450 expense and they have also refused to do this repair at their cost. The only thing that has been done is the tailgate cap has been applied. After the second time of having the truck in the shop, it came back and leaked fluid on my driveway. I took the truck back again and let them know of this leak and again discussed the other problems and options of getting out of this truck as it seemed to be a problem. At one point in the coversation I was offered to take my trade in truck back, and evidently this has been retracted aslo because now they have offered to fix this truck and I quote "with a little bit money from us, and a little bit of money from you".
I do not feel I should have to pay for ANY of these repairs. This dealership has sold me a vehicle that was not fit to be sold at this time. I went along with the sale with the intent that these items would be repaired. Had I known that it would be at my cost this purchase would not have been made.
