My 6mo old kitten from Joyce became sick 2/5/18. For 2 months, she had bloody noses, not eating or drinking, lethargy, nose congestion, high fever, diarrhea, eating cat litter, lost 2.5lbs, started having seizures, couldn't walk, had a feeding tube placed, had a blood transfusion due to sever anemia, and now she was euthanized yesterday 4/5/18 at just over 8 months of age. I contacted Joyce in February after 2 other people told me they had sick kittens from the same litter, and Joyce said "no one's contacted me, her parents are healthy, and all the other cats from the litter are healthy." That was a lie. Instead of showing ANY COMPASSION, she told me I could replace the cat and that I needed to stop writing about it on social media. Why would I REPLACE my family member for another cat at the same cattery that already has sick cats?! I asked for the vet documents for my kitten, and she told me the vet died and she didn't have any copies of her vet documentation. I don't even know if my kitten ever received veterinary care before I bought her. Joyce breeds her cats too fast. As soon as they are in heat, they mate. I bought a cat from her born 4 months before the second cat. Both of my cats had the same parents. So Pretty Patches gave birth in March, and then again in July. It's unethical to mate your cat that many times. Now 3 kittens out of 6 from the July litter are all sick (besides mine, she passed away). She has cages upon cages in a 5'x10' small room that houses all of the mothers and their litters. Her house is very dirty and gives the kittens and mothers no room to run around. They have 1 small cat tree to share between all of the cats and kittens. She feeds them a poor diet. This is not the first sick cat she has sold. She is just taking the money from buyers. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BREEDER. I want my money back, money for all of my vet bills, and for her to lose her breeder license. She does NOT care about her kittens or the buyers.

I think you all need help. My kitten is fine in the best health my vet is top of the line! He looked at her records has seen her several times and says she's healthy and beautiful!

I bought a kitten from Joyce just last year. He is healthy and happy. I took him to the vet 2 days after getting him and he received a clean bill of health. You were offered a replacement kitten per her contract and you chose not to take one-your choice, you forfeited you money. Next time read the contract. And to the lady whose cat died at age 9 of renal disease- doesn’t surprise me for a bigger breed cat. They don’t live as long as your average house at to begin with.

Cats like people can develop an illness seemingly overnight. If these past few years of COVID haven’t taught us anything, it’s nothing is guaranteed. Fine or getting better one day and dying or dead the next.

Joyce has two beautiful kittens pictured that are for sale right now. If I had the cash flow, I would buy one in a heartbeat

I believe those of you who needed up with sick kittens had some bad luck. She offered a replacement per her contract. You chose not to take another. Stop your complaining.

By now we should all know that nothing in life is guaranteed. If COVID hasn’t taught us this, nothing will. Cats have their own sets of illlnesses just like people. You can be healthy one day and terribly sick the next. That is no one’s fault. She only has 3 breeding females, if I remember correctly. This is hardly a breeding mill. And if the males are kept in a shed, you don’t know what the condition of the shed is. You should see the pole sheds my dad has. You could live very nicely in them.

Joyce has 2 beautiful kittens right now per her page. If I had the cash flow, I would buy one right now.

I'm thinking of reporting them to the SPCA because she did mention a "shed" where she keeps the males.

I bought a cat from her seven years ago and he just died of renal failure. What made me contact her again about kittens is a mystery because obviously my darling cat was doomed from the beginning.

I asked week I talked to her perhaps three times and she beard from being pleasant to out right rude and angry about politics and conspiracies.

Surely there is an agency who can be contacted to investigate and shut down this kitten mill as well as rescue those poor cats.

As for me I was so disgusted that I went to the nearest animal shelter and rescued a little black female who is in found sick and near death. I feel good about that but the specter of what is going on in Arpin Wisconsin haunts me.

Sharon Melin Michelle, who calls herself “Sibertiger 03” purchased a Healthy Kitten from me on 9/27/17 at age 10 weeks. Per health contract she was given 5 days to take the kitten to a vet of her choice. I received no documentation of a vet visit. Per contract the next vaccination was due 10/21/17. She was given the kittens health record, at time of sale.
Sharon called/e-mailed Screaming on 2/5/18 that her kitten was sneezing blood all over, she demanded I tell her what was wrong with it. I am not a vet, I have never seen a kitten or cat sneezing blood all over. I told her she needed to have it diagnosed by a vet. Vets see hundreds of sick cats in a year, thousands if they are part of a large vet clinic. During the conversation she admitted to Not getting the vaccinations that were due, 10/21/17. Which was 3 ½ months prior to her kitten getting sick. She yelled and screamed that all her other adult cats, 4 of them were sick with the same symptoms, and it was all my fault.
Sharon did go to a public realm, describing the terrible death she forced her kitten to have. Blaming it all on the breeder. Asking for anyone who had any problems with their cats to contact her. Not once did she mention she FAILED to vaccinate her pet as directed by the breeder. Sharon did her malicious posting on a perfectly nice Facebook page of lovely photos of NFC’s, dozens of my kitty clients photos. Sharon had a captured audience of my clients for her nasty tirade. I’m not even sure if any of her horrible story is true. I only have her word for it.
She has been to my home twice. She 100% knows I have 3 simple kittening pens, 4 ft high. The room is less than 8 ft high. Physically impossible to stack, would not fit. When kittens are litter trained, they have the run of my kitchen, + 3 other rooms. Her comments are totally slanderous lies, and she knows it. This website thrives on unfounded conflict and malicious attacks.
Sharon demanded all health records on the parent cats. Those records would not change the fact she neglected to vaccinate her kitten for 3 months. Per her verbal report, she was keeping the kitten in a houseful of sick cats, sneezing blood. She is upset I am not sympathetic. I am totally appalled by what she has done to a beautiful kitten. She demanded the name of my veterinarian. Did she really think I’d give her the name of a veterinarian so she could call them up, screaming, accusing them of something? Are you serious lady? No way.
She is calling me a liar because I did not share information regarding other clients. Clients are given a contract/health guarantee. In 2017 clients were given 5 days to take their kitten to a vet of their choosing. If a kitten is diagnosed with a serious illness or signs of illness at time of sale, price of kitten would be refunded. No one can predict an act of Nature. A veterinarian statement of health is good for the day the vet saw the animal. Not a week, months or year later. I offer a one year replacement for a vet documented fatal diagnoses, indicting the cause of death was present at birth. Provided we are still raising cats. Sharon was offered a replacement per contract. She Declined. She demanded her money back 4 ½ months after sale. I have seen no independent documentation of the kittens death. Only Sharon’s Bizarre Story.

She had every vaccination that was required. Wherever you got that misleading information of me not vaccinating her is beyond me. Other clients had sick cats from that litter. That's a fact an unable to be disputed. I reached out to other NFC breeders about this issue, and they expressed concern at how I was treated. It's just a shame that you are not a reputable breeder and I (among two other clients with kittens from the same litter) had to suffer due to your negligence. Please, just stop breeding cats.

Both of these stories sound like FIP. I am no expert. Just the knowledge I unfortunately gained when my beautiful wonderful sweet ragdoll was diagnosed with FIP in March 2017 and euthanized May 2017 at the age of 16 months.
Anyone interested in purchasing a kitten should put FIP in the search on this website and read the horror stories related to FIP and these unethical, uncaring. Breeders out there.
Once you become an "unlucky member" of the worst club on Earth "my cat died of FIP and here is the story". You know this disease and experience is gut wrenching and affects you like no other.

We had a similar thing happen to us in 2016. Kitten born in May 2016 to same parents. We bought the Kitten at the end of July. Labor Day weekend we noticed the kitten seemed listless and had blood coming from his nose and eyes looked odd. We took it to a vet and he had a fever. After going to several vets and none of them finding out what was wrong. Just a sick cat with a fever. In October we took him to UW - Madison and they said they were 95% sure the kitten had FIP, but couldn't be sure without a spinal tap. We did not want to put him through that, we spent the rest of October giving him pallative care until he started having issues walking and we put him down.

When we told Joyce, she mentioned another cat of the same litter had the same issue and the pretty patches wouldn't be breeding anymore. I guess she lied about that also. We were offered a kitten but turned it down since we figured the house was contaminated. We also observed the house being very filthy.
