I had a dog that was very sick, i had spent almost $4, 000 on her to keep help save her. She needed a surgery, that I couldn't afford because I had already exhausted all my funds on a surgery the vet misdiagnosed, then proceeded to tell me she had to see a specialist.

She went through another surgery to buy her more time, until I could afford the right surgery.

A friend of mine told me about this place, and how they will help families who can't pay their vet bill. I desperately reached out to them, and shared my story. I sent two emails, a few Facebook messages, and commented on a post that was on their Facebook page. I wasn't even looking for "something for nothing" i offered payment plan, and volunteer work.

I heard nothing back from them. Finally, I went to my vet's office to discuss options. By this time I was at a road block. We decided we had no choice but to end her suffering. We signed the papers then waited what seemed like hours for them to bring our precious little girl in so we could say our good byes and love her one last time.

Before the vet came back in, I thought I would check my email and Facebook one last time, just in hopes I received a reply. I did not, but I could see they were online and had read my Facebook message. I sent the a message real quick, in hopes they would respond and I could stop the euthanasia. I told them I was at the vet making the decision I regretted. I sent that, then I attempted to send another to see if they could help, hoping to have a response before the doctor came back in. My last message didn't go through because they blocked me from their site. I really just wanted to die right there. To be honest, I wanted the vet to bring back enough medication to end my pain too.

I even begged in my messages to then to even respond if they were not able to help, so I didn't have to sit there all night and day hanging on to hope that there could be someone to help. I asked if they couldn't help, if they could direct me to someone who could. Instead they felt it was better to ignore my plea, and block me.

They say they help heal pets, and un break their families hearts. Yet, i am sitting here with the biggest hole in my heart, and my baby no longer with me.

I know they can't help every family. But, every family deserves a reaponse.

This organization is horrible and not agreeing to help those in need. There are 13 other complaints about For the Love of Alex, myself being one of them.
I wrote to this organization when my cat needed emergency surgery and after putting almost $3000 of our own money into her care, we could not afford her surgery. She had a kidney stone fully blocking her ureter and she needed surgery ASAP, because her kidneys started showing disease and one was swollen. She is 3 years old and this whole situation broke our hearts, I cried for a week straight.
After multiple back and forth messages with For The Love of Alex, it became clear very quickly that she had no intent of sending us an application for financial assistance. She told us to change our cats diet for 6 weeks and her stones would magically disappear. I have been working with animals for 20 years, so I knew right away that her information was false and could have killed my cat. I told her that she is not a vet and should not be giving out advice as she had to us, because she would kill someones animal. At that point, she called us "mean" and blocked me from messaging her.
During my cats first surgery, they found a major infection and that her kidneys were damaged. After they placed the sub system in (to reroute her a new ureter to her bladder from the kidney), she did not improve and they found that her kidney was leaking and needed to be removed because it was beyond repair. It was filled with puss and leaking fluid into her body. At this point, her care cost us $6500, which yet we still couldn't afford. We planned on getting married in August, so during all this we cancelled anything we could, because our cat meant so much to us. During this ordeal, we started a GoFundMe page, to help us with her medical expenses.
About a day or two after her second surgery to remove the leaking kidney, I had posted an update to her donors and our friends discussing what had happened with our cats surgery, etc. For the Love of Alex proceeded to message me on FB bashing us for feeding our cat dry food, yet again. She also bashed our doctors and mentioned that our "ego" was getting in the way of our cats care. She did not offer us ANY help, just hurtful words and wasted time. I am so angry, because this woman should not be a 501c3 and I plan to take action against her. If you are reading this, I beg you to do the same. I have never in my life met anyone as cruel as her.
The best part of all of this- she went directly to our GoFundMe, took our cats picture directly from the post and used everything in that post against us, telling us that we are killing our cat.

I have included 2 snapshots of the last message this org sent me, as mentioned above. They did not offer me an application, only messaged me to bash me, then proceeded to block me.
