Food City review: employee complaint 21

Food city is a lieing bunch of misleading scam, I can't say what I would really like to. They ask you to complete a survey and be rewarded with a 24 pack of purple wrapped bottle water that they don't even stock. I will do my shopping elsewhere I don't support scams and liars.

On two occasions eef I have attempted to purchase a corned beef brisket. Once at your Dayton Tn locations and once at the Soddy Daisy store. On bo th occcasions I have found all the briskets in their bags but repackaged in a store trey face down so you are unable to see what your buying. I don't buy meat I can't see. Why do you do this.?

On January 1/11/2023 I had 1 visit I just earned and I did not use it… I went back to food city on to get more food, 1/13/2023 and my visit is 0… I have my receipts … this is not the first time this is happened more than several times. I’m fed up with it! there are two other stores here in town I can shop at!

Just because I have low income doesn't mean I didn't have the money to pay for what I wanted because I paid for the ear buds and gift card but the work out there talked to me very badly I won't shop there again and I won't recommend anyone else to any questions u can call me 1_606_896_0066 again my name is Michael

My husband and I got the rudest treatment from Wise Food City on December the 1st 2021 that I have ever seen. Things were getting bad to start with there for no reason. My husband and I have shopped at Food City in both Coeburn and Wise on many different occasions and never had a problem then one day we were in Wise Food City shopping, as we were checking out at the self check out, i which is where I check out all the time, i noticed a couple of the girls there watching me and my husband. I didnt think much of it till i turned to give my husband a bad of items to put in another buggy and noticed the same two girls with the manager right behind me watching every move we made. It was starting to unnerve because i couldnt figure out why they were doing that and I hadnt done a thing wrong. I finshed checking out and left to go wait on my cab. Nothing else happened that day. Another day I had went back there, shopped, and went to check out. the items went over what I had to pay for them so I asked one of the girls to come over and delete the item. she did plus another guy from there to help me. They were asking if I wanted them to ring such and such up for me and I told them that I had alreadyrung the items up, this is when they told me that they were seeing thos items on the receipt and asked me to go to another register which I did without problem. I got checked out that day and gone home without any other problems until Decmber 1, 2021, when my husband and I went shopping there again. Noone said a thing to us when we first came in but i noticed this one guy start following us isle by isle, ringing up stuff off the shelves but looking at us and watch us out of the corner of his eye. We didnt think to much ofit until we went to go check out at the self checkouts and then the trouble started. I had sit there and watched a family with a little baby go through the self checkout with just as much if not more groceries than I had and when they finally got done i started to pull in to one of the registers and was stopped by this guy asking me if the buggy of water and other items where mine too and I said yes. He told me that I couldnt use the self checkouts with that many items and I would have to go to a regular register. I asked what about the family that just went through and he couldnt give me a straight answer and just told me it was something new they were doing. I told my husband to lets go to a regular register and as I was pulling down to one in a powerchair he stayed back asking that one guy questions and I had to turn anc all for him again. The girls at that register asked if we needed a manager and I told them no that Ijust wanted to check out and go home. They still got the manager anyway and he came over and was talking to me in a rude manner asking if they were a problem and I tried to explain to him what was wrong just to have him smart off to me again and talk over me like whatever I said didnt matter and telling me that I would have to check out at that register or not at all. I got up out of the power chair leaving all groceries behind, telling my husband to come with me that I would take care of it legally. That manager threw my husband out of the store when he didnt do anything wrong. we left that day and had to have the person that took us up there take time out that he really couldnt and go to walmart to shop. I sincerely think we were treated rudely and with disrespect that day and our customer rights were violated. I am a physically disabled person and my husband has mental disabilities due to him getting injured at birth. I think my husband and I both deserve a written out letter apologizing to us and saying we can come back at any time without trouble from the employees at all, no following, no standing behind me watching every move we make when we have done nothing to deserve it. If i dont hear anything from anyone in ONE WEEK I will take this to court and sue. I dont know the one guys name or any of the girls but the managers name there is Henry Maggard. He also gave my husband problems at the St. Paul Food City for no reason...please resolve this in one week or i will start legal proceedings. if you need anything from me here my contact info.

Employee degrading the Company and Co Workers. She has turned her notice in but something should be done with her for matters get worse inside your store.

The Food City in Dandridge Pharmacy will not honor good RX coupons but the store comes up in their app as a store that excepts them The app would save my 87-year-old mother half price on her medication

Opened the 2 pound container of strawberry yogurt and it was only half full.

They have stopped 5 percent on groceries don't use their has I spend at least 600 a month I don't drive but will be going to Ingles from now on May be sooner higher but better quality products. Even though some items are more no extras at food City the one on s roan street Johnson City TN rarely have items they advertise especially Baker y deli

Due to Starbucks beliefs and Food City supporting Starbucks we've decided to take our business elsewhere. We've been loyal for the past 20 years but it offends us. We support our military and first responders around this great country and will not support a business like this.

Chilhowie Va store needs to keep someone in the store all the time that knows how to send western union. I James Mcghee had a emergency and needed to send money to someone in need today 5/19 2019 there was trainee in the office and the management on duty this evening said he don't know how to send western union .

at Galax food city, every time I come in there to purchase veggies I see this smug arrogant manager walking around talking and distracting the cashiers etc it is a young man named Preston so keep your focus on work I would like to get my things and leave as soon as possible do something

Numerous times have i went there and witnessed all types of employees standing beside of the propane tanks smoking... this is getting out of hand and its very dangerous... will they wait till something bad happens to take control of this?

I was a employee at food city a manager there was talking about me to other employees im done. This accured 2/28/17 manager was josh [protected]

I pressed the button for regular gas and I noticed I was charge a lot more than it would normally take to fill up. The receipt said I bought the premium. Which was 50 cents more then the regular gas I get.

i was surprised when i saw a pharmacist at park road location food city harassed a customer who came from over sea for his official visit ! t he customer asked a mama plus from the pharmacist guy he kept on ignoring the customer and said some racist words towards that customer thinking he is a Tamil guy! the customer said he not only behave towards him but also towards his family members too! bcoz of the pharmacist act the customer walks park hospital most of the time when he wants buy medicine and some other stuff! i asked him why would you come to this shop he said, he thinks food city has good customer relation and can be trusted!
but he was very disappointed with unnatural behavior of the pharmacist and he wanted complain to the supervisor or manger abour the pharmacist who worked at park raod location at around 7/45 p. 4 of july 2013.
if this situation continues food city gradually loose the valued customers and ruin its name and trustworthiness from the custormers! this has to be corrected!

I can understand how someone may feel this way towards Sue. However having said that I also have to explain why I disagree. Sue has worked for Food City for more than 15 years and has over these years learned the demographics of the company. She is no different in the way she acts when "company" is in the store than other people in management positions. Also as the head cashier she has certain job responsibilities that aren't very pleasant. She doesn't like that part of her job and does not always handle it very well. I worked there for her for 5 years and have had to experience that side of Sue at times. After talking to me she has always then proceeded to treat each day as a new day and nothing said again. When given the chance she is caring and does take an interest in her employees. She deserves better than being bashed by employees or former employees on a public forum.

she is an evil woman all she cares is about herself and how good she looks toward the company. She treats all her front end employers with disrespect. She has talked bad about the people she works with as much as the costumers that she attends. A couple of years ago i remember coming in at 6 am to a meeting to listen to her go one for an hour telling everyone how we should be making her look good, and how she need to look good for the store. How is this a meeting? There was nothing mentioned about working as a team for the store, it was all about her. If every single person had a word to say something or know who to go to knowing something was going to be done, you would have many young adult who would come forward with the harassment' s and bullying we have all experienced more than one occasion. She is the biggest suck up to people that are in higher management in the company that she comes in. When she talks to her costumers most of the time of you pay attention to her body language she is usually not even interested in them. She is cruel she has made me stay there many of times with bad health conditions not being able to work over pain, and goes on about how i need to stay because she has no one to come in. And has told threaten me with getting me fired if i go home. She is abusive with her words. And i will do anything to support the statement above me due to the fact, to do what good for the company and the front end employees her suffer from her chose of words and actions. Food city is about working as a team and becoming a family to make the best store and working environment. I do not understand how she even qualifies. Yet know does anything to make her treat her employees like this.

I agree with this person, if everyone there had the right and able to say something about this woman they would. She has harassed everyone there numerous times, and it is manly the young adults. Every day on the front end is a bad day with her. She treats her employees like low ###. She is the biggest suck up when it comes to bigger people in the company coming in. I have caught her many of time talking bad about her costumers as well as her employees. I have to been bullied by this woman many of time and do not know where to go or who to go to about this that will do something about it. She seems to treats her some of her costumers well but if you paid attention most of the time with body language she has no interest. I remember a few years back attending a meeting at 6 a.m to listen to her for an hours about how the front end should make her look good and how she needed to look good for the company it was nothing about being a team. I would like something to be done about this, not just for the employers that work with her but for the store. Food city is about becoming a team and a family, not about being scared and coming to work hating your day, and being bullied around.
