on 5/5/2019 approx 8:30pm a bad electrical storm blew our transformer out effecting 4 neighbors.
we were advised that it should be on by 5/6/2019 5:45Am, making it a very uncomfortable night. now I understand nature can create problems that cant be avoided. Happily it went back on by 3:00 am two hours earlier than estimated. Unfortunately it did last long it blew about 4 hours later @ 9:30 am mind you sunny not a cloud in the sky. now we are being told 1:45pm it will restore again going on @ 12:30 about 1 hour and 45 minutes before estimated time, only to have it blown just 45 minutes later again, (IT LOOKS like it has now blown one TV out and I am worried about the other appliance's and the AIR CONDITION. Being told it should be back by 5:30pm I would rather they fix it properly and take there time, I'm facing spoiled items in the fridge and all of the other three neighbors have called me to complain.

customer service
FPL plays with their own rules of billing and zero flexibility, just because there is no option to healthy competition the american way. As a Florida resident, I've been a customer from FPL for years. On this address alone, I've been over 2 years. As a busy business owner i always set my accounts to autopay. This January my wife got birth to my child. Being at the hospital, i got bounced a payment. They got me out of autopay and forbid my account to be paid with my bank account again. Now, when I needed it the most, they are charging me with a deposit over $700 on top of my bill. When called and speak with a supervisor, they said is their policy, not caring of me being a long time customer in autopay for so long. They won't activate my ability to pay with my bank account until somewhere 2020, and of course, they want their deposit and monthly payment in full plus western union fees, over $1100 in total. It's so sad that in United States a company is allowed to control a monopoly, without any need of attend a customer need or work to be the customer choice. Here in Florida you either select them or don't have electric power at all. This should be corrected as per North American Laws.
Any other company would just take loyalty and customer history in consideration at the time of making a decision. My goal here is FPL to do the same, or at least create awareness in their business practice. If enough customers would do that, they would finally be forced to be more flexible, or another company to be born and force them to actually improve their business practices
power outage not repaired
On april 12 at 7pm the power to our complex started having problems and the ac and other mayor appliances stopped working.
We call the FPL and find out that all the 19 units in our building have the same issue and the FPL was going to solve the problem in a couple hours.
They came and report that there were not problems in their network.
They concluded without opening the main switch that the problem has to be solve by the community association electrician.
Next day the electrician came and open the main switch and found that it was totally burned down and the power was not going to the Meters.
He said that FPL has to replace the main switch because it was located between the FPL transformer and the FPL meters ( 19 ).
We are been calling FPL hundreds of times most of the community affected residents and 24 hours latter we still don't have any solution and the FPL truck is not were to be seen.
They keep denying their responsibility and doing nothing.
residential electric service
They sent by email a threatening notice today, 4/8/19, saying I was in danger of being cut off due to not paying my monthly bill. But I did schedule a payment through my bank and online records confirm that they received payment on 4/5/2019, 3 days ago. So now I have to contact them and see why this payment was not recorded when it was received. I'm very annoyed by this. My bill pay service has never failed me during the course of many years. I called about 9 times and was put on hold by these scam artist and after paying this amount I asked them not to call as they ruined my day. Do you think they care NOOOOOOO not at all.
I also was threatened to have my power turned off and FPL was rude and very misleading. I had to go to seven eleven and pay thru a money pak card because they wanted bill paid in full. I wrote down all the info and paid it in full and she calls me up the next day and tells me that I shorted them a hundred and wanted me to go over to 7-11 and do it all again, Plus I am running a business with minimum lighting and my bill was that high what a scam they are running. I need to know if there is another way that would work affordably to get power without a generator that is loud and stinky. I would love to get away from F
deposit required
I got a bill from FPL about a deposit of 434, I can't pay that right now, I been a customer for 8 years and just now I have some troubles to pay in the exact day, I have been late just like 3 days or 5 no more than that and now if you don't pay the deposit you will be disconect it and I have a family of 4 where I have to support them. FPL just want to the take advantage of the people. Its not fair. I will not pay that and I don't have the option to do automatically payment either so what a joke.
crew work noise
I live in Jonathan's Cove on Military Trail in West Palm Beach. An FPL crew is installing new power-line poles. The work is going on right outside my window - even though it is after midnight. The lights from the trucks and the noise from generators are making it impossible to sleep. Why isn't this being done during the day - it only requires closing a single lane of traffic.
transformer box
My address at 5301 SW 15th Ct., Plantation, FL 33317 has a large green transformer box on the front lawn. This box is rusted and is an eye sore. I work hard to keep my home attractive and this box is not being maintained. I would like someone from FP&L to repair this box.
I have attached photos of the box and also of my house. My cell phone number is [protected].
Thank you.

complaining about a driver for fpl
On 1/18/19 about 3:10/3:15pm on Kanner Rd just at Salerno, driver in Ford sedan # 1230, plate #GEB899, cut me off in traffic abruptyl with no turn signal until he was already in my lane. There was no emergency for him to cut into my lane, just missing my front bumper. Luckily I was not moving fast so I was able to react and avoid an accident. I hope this will be looked into.
customer experience
Fpl was called in regards to a payment that was paid through the fpl site, and lynette the supervisor was very harsh and speaking aggressively with a I don't care attitude, which I think is very rude to display that type of tone to a customer who don't understand that when using a site that is linked to fpl is a third party site. Most customers would assume that if they received that site from fpl.com it's verifiable. Lynette the supervisor could have explained this in a more softer tone.
No, it's not her problem, but a softer tone when dealing with the elderly would have came through much clearer.

1616 se 2nd court, fort lauderdale, fl 33301
To whom it may concern,
For several months now I have made good faith efforts, and have spent an enormous amounts of time to communicate with you all. I have obtained all the evidence to clearly illustrate that FPL has made an error in continuing to charge me for utilities well past my move out date. In fact, even after approximately 6 calls and discussions, you still had not closed the account.
I gathered the documentation which clearly evidences that I have not made an error. I finally got all the documentation together (even though it was your error). I was told I would be able to submit this documentation, and also the owner of the property agreed to inform FPL of the error and agreed on a power shutoff as of 11/2/18. Despite all this effort, one of your exceptionally sordid staff called me and demanded I work it out with owner, and refused to correct the illegal and unauthorized charges on my account.
I have attempted to reach out more than 10 times now. You continue to hold fast and insist on attempting to collect a bill that is most abundantly clear for services well past my move out of 10/31/18.
This will be my last attempt, because you still have not so much as even acknowledged this gross, reckless, and intentional abuse of unfair billing practices. I will start disputing previous payments.
I cannot for the life of me understand why you would treat me with such hostility and even after being fully informed to contineu to pursue this illegal collection. You have also improperly seized my security deposit. I this will not resolve this situation, then I will have to hire and attorney to file a complaint.
I have asked more times than I can remember, if perhaps a professional and courteous person could discuss this and offer some relief which would be just and fair. I have 2+ years of nearly perfect service. If you do not respond, or if any other staff aggressively attempts to continue this conduct, please know that I will have to file a police report and will be left with no choice but to pursue both legal and social issues.
Most Sincerely,
Ankur Mehta

cut cable wire
Your tree cutters showed up without notice on 1/4/19 to 2313 Loma Linda, Sarasota FL, 34239. This is a rental home that I own. I made an appointment to show the house to potential clients and arrived to find limbs and ladders and people crawling all over the place. Worse, the men cut my trees back horribly, but more importantly they also disconnected and cut my cable TV line. It looks like the main line was marked with colored markers and then disconnected. Another line was cut. I called around 1:30 PM today (1/5/19) when I discovered this and FPL sent someone out to fix it within a couple hours. I had told them to call me when they were on the way over. They said they called me, but they didn't. Two hours later I called FPL and spoke to Miss Juaraz in the Texas office. She said FPL can't fix the cable wire. Their men wouldn't even screw the wires back together that they had disconnected. So you can disconnect the wire, but you can't repair it. Miss Juaraz said that FPL can't call the cable company to fix it. You won't even reprimand the men who disconnected the wire because "they must have had a good reason to do that." Miss Juaraz also refused to compensate me with a credit of any sort for all the time and inconvenience this is causing me. FPL refused to fix the wire that was broken by FPL or take any responsibility for showing up without notice, ruining my trees, cutting and/or disconnecting my cable and causing me a lot of aggravation and waste of time.
commercial entity stealing power line
We know a company based at the following location has done a illegal power connection to their premises to avoid paying heavy electricity bills. They have heavy electrical usage becuase of the equipments they use
The add is below
2699 W 79th St #6, Hialeah, FL 33016
We want you to do a thorough check up at their premises pls and make sure they are not using illegal power
a deposit after being a customer since 2016 was added on my account...
I was on the phone with a FPL representative who could not help me so he transferred me to his supervisor who was very rude and racist. She wouldn't help me because she didn't feel like it using her title to do so. She stated the deposit was put there because I was a day late in paying the light two times. I know by law you can not force someone who pays there bill every month to pay a big deposit of $205.00 on top of my monthly bill in which FPL already charges me too much as if I am paying for a house! The resolution to this disgusting situation is to take that deposit off of my account because obviously I pay my bill every month! I told her I live check to check on a fixed income and she laughed ! I am very upset, embarrassed and disgusted that you have people as supervisors "helping" people because they hide behind these phone calls to make fun of the elderly and handicapped. I would like this resolved immediately as my next bill will generate on the 9th of this month. Another thing is FPL estimates bills every month they never actually come out to really read a meter and that's why my bill is so expensive every single month! I also want to add that she even hung up the phone on me and that's why I am making this complain also!

on going work in my community
FPL started a project in the Sugar Sands Community in Riviera Beach Florida last July. They were replacing some poles, installing new wire and line boxes. The crews hit water and sewer lines. They destroyed the community walk paths to repair the damaged sewer lines. The crews were working from work request WR#6581187. I have been told that the project is still not complete. They have not repaired my fence, my landscape or my walk path. I need a responsible FPL official to meet with me and get things back to normal.
power utilities
I have new electrical service at my home. Since 12/27/2018 my city sent an email to FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT/ WORK WITH letting them know that FPL Connect could connect new meter service and still to this date I have no power. I am very disappointed with their service and wish that someone that cares from this company could do something to speed up my service. I can't call another company as you are the only provider of electricity in my city.
I have spoken to Jaime many times at 305-626-7600 he promised to speak to a supervisor and still NO Results
PLEASE help as I have to take care of a child and animals and it's impossible to be without power.
THANK YOU

damaged rear yard sod
A tree service came out in November and cut a tree dow. The big truck with the chipper got stuck in the soft rear yard. They left double the torn up sod and ruts but promised to make it as good as new. They never came back to fix it. I called FP&L over 2 weeks ago and they too promised to send someone out to repair it. Nothing has happened at all. I need it repaired. Mew sod in the truck ruts and the deep ruts need to be flattened.
billing
Fpl turned my power off due to a dispute about an old bill from an address that i supposedly lived at for 24 hours back in 2008.
The problem is, there customer service sucks.
Got an extention on paying the past bill, but had some payroll issues with my job.
Tried calling them to work it out and kept getting told no to talking to a representative.
When i finally do speak to a real person, was told theres nothing we can do its pay the bill of get shut off.
Asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no and that theres nothing he could do.
Now its going to be a cold night and rainy, have my wife at the house sitting in the dark with my dogs, ho heat, no ac and going to loose all the food in my fridge and freezer.
Nice way to have compassion and help your customers..
Refuse to work a solution and help,
Nope, tell me im done shut off my power and thats that.
new tenant and disabled with child won't turn on power 42* winter time
Yes I'm in a wheelchair and have a 8yr old child. I moved into my new place and when I call to turn on power fpl sends me to another service saying investigation services. While I speak to them they want to speak to owner whom called them. The owner calls me back saying go ahead call fpl back. I do department is closed, I ask to speak to a supervisor who then tells me I have to wait while disabled and my 8yr old spends another freezing night with only candles. Due to county won't allow generator after 8pm at night. It's going to be 42 degrees and all I get is I'm sorry call back when department is open. Thanks while my child already has a cold and I've paid 3700 to move in and we're now stuck until 5am freezing!
billing
Who do I contact to complain about the billing service with your company. In other words who is regulating your company and what state or federal agency can I contact for help.
I own a building and have for years been billed and paid my bill on time account number [protected]. One of my tenants moved out and I had to turn the electric on in unit B so we could repair damage. I wanted it added to my bill but they wanted to charge me a deposit. I referenced that I also own Lane Insurance, Inc. that rents unit A and I should not have to pay a deposit. Somehow the bill gets put in the name of my company. I wanted it corrected to the account above and they want to charge me. Total [censored]. I want to know who to contact per above.
fp&l annoying tv ads campaign for south florida counties.
I'm sick and tired of seeing FP&L annoying and REPETITIVE TV Ads on South Florida Local TV Stations. This has been going on for years.
FP&L has NO competitor in this market (Dade, Broward & Palm Beach Counties) and is the only provider of electricity, so what's the point of spending money on TV Ads. This is ridiculous and frankly a waste of money.
If electric rates in Florida are the lowest in the nation as FP&L states, why not using the MILLIONS of dollars they spent on unnecessary and annoying TV Ads to make these rates even lower.
