Please BEWARE of this company. Not only were the floor installations botched and butchered, they were then ruined with irremovable glue/adhesive stains everywhere by these incompetents. In addition they damaged the new paint in every room of my condo, broke closet doors, and got paint, glue/adhesive in all my sinks and bathtubs that took days to try and clean. After initially taking as little responsibility as possible other than trying to salvage the floors they ruined, they offered me a meager $700 to repair all the other damage they did to my home. Their answer to the floors they ruined was to use an adhesive remover to remove all the glue/adhesives stains which did absolutely nothing on the hardwood and couldn't be used on the carpets. Once this didn't work they were going to have their workers come in and rub the glue off the floors with their fingers. The nightmare they created just continued to get worse and after all the destruction to my home as well as the floors they put in, they made it clear they would not put in a new floor but would at most try to refinish a floor that was not put in correctly in the first place. Who wants hardwood floors made up of 8-10 pieces of wood, knots everywhere, stains that cannot come out? I am going to build a website and have pictures of their work, the floors they put in wrong and then ruined, the damage to my home, carpets, etc, so no one will ever have to go through the nightmare FCI and it's workers and owner Dave Hogan have put me through. If necessary we will go to court but in the meantime it is my intent to do my best to warn other people about this company as soon as possible and I will keep people posted.

I’ve had multiple customers complain about this business to me. Seems they try to cover their tracks by hiring new owner and ignoring customer complaints

Floor Covering International Burlington

One of our installers found this joker from God knows where, because his installers all had left him. They did a job in Oakville for him and the story goes... this guy is always changing installers and not paying them, he talks way too much, a real smooth operator and he is unprofessional. He is very cheap and hackles his installers and charges client premium pricing. He finds any excuse to throw installer off the job when its near completed so he does not have to pay the full amount. He offers his installers, $1.00-$1.25 for nail down installation and charges his clients $3.00+ per sqft. After finding out from various installers of his behaviour and everyone seems scared to put a review up on him because he threatens these guys.

I don't know how the hell he sleeps at night; but I will report him to the BBB, Floor Coverings head office and wherever else I need to.

Please do not work for this sad excuse of a man he will just use you! He will look for any excuses not to pay! Even if he has to sabotage the job not to pay he would! What a poor excuse of a man!

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with this franchise of Floor Coverings International. From the moment Matt (the owner) answered their phone to the moment Michelle just left they have been nothing but professional and a pleasure to work with. As I am in a wheelchair I needed to have the floors redone in my entire apartment. Once they set a time and date for the appointment they actually showed up when they were supposed to, unlike several other companies I tried to get out here to quote my job. Once Robert came out and we talked more about what I was looking for he went down to his van and brought back multiple samples of the products we had spoken about. In this case carpeting in the bedrooms and vinyl plank with a hardwood look finish everywhere else. After looking at colors we didn't really see anything that I liked, so once again he went back down to his van and brought up more samples. We finally settled on the carpet and flooring that I wanted a bid for. He then used his high tech measuring gadget, which was good as I have some quirky walls, to measure everything out. By the time he left the parking lot (10 minutes later) I had a firm quote in my e-mail from him. This is unlike some of the larger companies who if I could get to come see me I couldn't get a quote from them because they were "to busy".

To shorten this up they came and put in the flooring and did a marvelous job. Their workers were courteous, showed up on time and did a wonderful job. Both Michelle, the project manager and Robert their sales person were here every day to check on progress and make sure I was being accommodated.

Once again, I cannot stress how impressed I am with this company and all of their employees. If you live in the greater Milwaukee area do not hesitate to contact them and see what I mean.

Floor Coverings International - Spring Branch, Houston, TX. This business franchise is fraud! Refuses to refund monies, fraudulently charged to credit card. Work or service was never done due to "open" date agreement and due to loss of primary job (employer bankruptcy) work was cancelled by email. Company has changed addresses without notice. Do not engage this company. Now, seeking legal recourse for deceptive business and trade practice. Unprofessional owner/operator Graham Macleod.

I used them to redo a bathroom floor and I had them put down self leveling concrete first to keep the tiles from cracking and they did a horrible job-the tiles were not level at all and I had big gabs on my baseboards when I tried to put them back on and Kyle Baker of white bear lake Mn. franchise tried to tell me that the tiles are allowed to off and he did not want to take any responsibility for the mess that his company did and their warranty is not worth the paper its printed on! He even got some of the expanding foam that he was spraying around on my bathroom cabinet doors and he tried to blame it on my brother! buyer beware and do not let this company in your home-they suck you in with a good sales pitch and then send in these second rate subcontractors in who could care less about quality work. They are the worst company that I have ever had to deal with and even on the first day that the work was to begin no one bothered to show up! My toilet does not even sit flush on the floor because of the uneven tiles. This company does not deliver the quality work that it promises or do they back up their warranty. So save your money and go with a professional company that knows what it's doing!

My experience with the FCI franchise in my city ( Bozeman, Montana) has been a positive one. The company also has a great customer satisfaction level.

Don't forget Social Media is the one of the best places to post your complaints, along with any other place that will accept reviews, or attract attention. DO NOT fall for all the promises given at bid time. The wonderful customer service that you will receive, That you wont have to worry about a thing because of the fantastic coordination that will be provided. That all of the subcontractors are well trained, and that you can rest assured, they are experts, professionals, and know what they are doing. That before materials are ordered, quantities will all be double checked to ensure the installers wont run short during installation. That someone will be there daily, to work with the sub contractors so they know what work is needed, and to take care of any problems that may arise. Blue tape to put on spots of concern. That Daily reports will be posted, that explain, what work is expected to be done that day, if does not get accomplished, a explanation provided of why it was not, also a place for the customer to write any concerns, to avoid conflict with sub contractors. Don't believe a word of any of it. It is all a crock. Require them to secure a building permit for the work being performed, that MAY relieve some of the burden, that you will have to suffer as a result of your decision to choose them. You may even want/need to hire your own Inspection Service to watch over their subs, to ensure that the Manufacturers Installation Instructions are adhered to, that the products used will be installed correctly. To avoid yourself very costly mistakes. You may think I am just exaggerating the situation. But having to deal with this already, You may want to heed this warning. They MIGHT be able to handle a simple, one day flooring installation job, I don't know about that, your guess is as good as mine.
Floor Coverings International also does not disclose, that they are the same companies as Re-Bath, Remodeling Made Easy, and Home Story at bid. They use the same contractors also. Don't expect your phone calls or texts will be returned, or your questions will be answered. My job is not even completed yet, and this list is growing as we speak.
You cant say, that I did not try to warn you!

Floor Coverings International is a franchise operation...which means that one bad one is not accounting for all of the hardworking franchise owners of other locations. Please remember this when you post a bad review of any local business. It is that local business not the entire FCI business. My company has a Better Business Rating of A+. I would recommend looking for your local business ratings and posting your complaints thru the BBB. I am sorry that you have had a bad experience with FCI and I hope that it is resolved to your satisfaction.

Each Floor Coverings International is individually owned and operated. I personally own an award winning franchise in Ohio, and can guarantee that not every Floor Coverings International franchise operates this way. Would you mind posting your location?
