Mixed Experiences with Flippa.com
As someone who has explored the platform, I must say that Flippa.com offers a mixed bag of experiences. While some users have reported positive interactions and successful transactions, there is a notable trend of dissatisfaction among others. Issues such as delayed fund releases, lack of transparency, and accounts being banned without clear justification have been highlighted. It's crucial for potential users to exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence before engaging with Flippa.com. While there are opportunities for successful transactions, it's essential to be aware of the potential pitfalls and navigate the platform with vigilance.
Buyer
During transfer of ownership I had a problem with the seller. Flippa support staff got involved and solved the problem between buyer and seller.
Great help. Without their help it could have ended badly.
No problems at all
My experience with specific transactions has always been great. In addition, I find the platform has greatly improved in terms of reducing some of the spamming and low quality listings compared with one or two years ago.

First Time Buyer
I have just started my journey into the world of buying and selling websites. The process was made much smoother by Joe Burrill who sold the site on behalf of the owners. I look forward to buying many more sites from Flippa moving forward. Thank you again so much.
It was great
Everything went smooth and my customer was on time, my only issue was escrow verification process which I didn't have enough documents on hands, I hope you add more friendly payment method soon specially for digital travelers since we can't provide proof of address documents because we travel a lot
Great Platform to Buy and Specially Sell Websites
Usually, the thing is that the people that are not happy with the service make an extended effort to write a negative review for the service and happy people don't really bother.
Anyway Flippa is a great service, Just made a clean transaction and the process was smooth through Flippa Escrow. Yes they deducted their 10% (Success fee is on the higher side) but overall really a good platform considering the alternatives.
Support is a bit slow and you have to be good at what you do so not don't get scammed, but this is the deal with the internet overall, you got to be smart enough with any sort of transaction over internet. Flippa is legit and a great service.
Highly underrated way to sell your biz. Most major investors & buyers of digital assets are here
I come across a great deal of wrong headed thinking about Flippa based on the fact that many assets on the site are in fact questionable. This does NOT take away from the fact that serious buyers and investors do not want to miss any needles in the haystack and will have their radar on ALL places that sell assets. From Biz buy sell to Axial to Flippa. Flippa has been around very long, and I'd bet their email list they send your deals to is deeper than most brokers. Brokers have their place for some transactions surely, but for many deals Flippa is perfect. Plus the fees are much lower than brokers by a wide margin. I have both bought 6 figure assets and sold a 7 figure assets on the platform. Their support is fast, helpful and responsive. In my mind if you're a serious buyer or seller, Flippa should be one of your FIRST stops. Definitely get on their email list.
Customer service by Ian McFaul
An agent from Flippa, Ian McFaul, suspended my account without cause following an argument. Individuals like him, unable to differentiate personal disputes from professional conduct, should not be employed anywhere globally. Suspending a customer's account based on personal feelings is an indication of Flippa's backward and unprofessional practices.
p.s. Flippa replied as follows: "We support our team and reject these claims entirely."This is yet another baseless falsehood. These scammers (Flippa) didn't even refund my money after suspending my account. Flippa is already infamous among buyers for neglecting scammers on the platform (because they themselves are scammers), lacking customer support, and having incompetent staff members who suspend customer accounts for personal reasons.
Claimed loss: Money
Flippa
I was coaxed into transact business on flippa.I bought an online site and seller didnt deliever any of files required for website and flippa instead of taking any action doesnt even respond and on top of it asks me questions like what name is displayed on your email. This is just run by scamsters where they get their commision and let users die on their own
Desired outcome: I want my money back on transaction as i have been cheated
Domain sales
I've listed my domains (drugsology.com group of domains) for sale and purchased premium boost package for $300 from Flippa. Because I have many shady things going on with my entire portfolio of 2240 domain names on GoDaddy and Namecheap and I believe and have evidence to present foul play, I asked Flippa support to answer important questions.
= =
I purchased $300 social media etc. boost publicity for sale package.
I have reasons to believe that my domain registrars are manipulating my portfolio, info, and all else.
1. Do you see any obstacles, "flags" or anything such in place for domain/domains I've listed for sale?
Any "didn't pass verification" or infringement, non-compliance or anything else?
2. What are the places that can I verify that premium boost package is active and that is promoting my sale?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Hijacked and tortured hostage, Sergio
*Furthermore, Flippa removed Mr Alfred Kreuser's offer to purchase my domains for $30, 000.
See attached.
Please prove legal right to obstruct that sale or reimburse for $30, 000 loss that it caused me.
Thanks.

Two days later they are not answering request 794421. I've already lost a whole month that drugsology.com was listed with no bids ( and only requestor to buy my domains was removed by Flippa).
Because of the pattern of intentional runarounds that is happening with GoDaddy, Namecheap and elsewhere, I cannot afford to be entangled in another runaround, or waste any more time.
My livelihood is at stake.
Hence, I am here asking via Complaints Board.
I would like to get the clear answers and solutions from Flippa asap.
My, businesses, livelihood, and entire online presence appears to be secretly shadow banned and sabotaged.
Please help. Thanks, Hijacked and tortured hostage, Srdjan Milosavljevic aka Sergio.
Desired outcome: True Answers and Resolution Without Delay Or Ronuroud

unethical behavior/dishonest sellers
I completed 4 transactions to purchase mobile apps on this website. From the get-go, it was nothing but problems. One of the sellers was banned from the site after he was already paid in advance, and I never received my source code for the mobile app from him. I then went on to get the necessary files from the other sellers, and one was located in Pakistan and another in Romania. It has been an ongoing nightmare, as they were paid in advance and then proceeded to find excuse after excuse for holding my files hostage and not transferring the necessary data to me for the amount of money spent. The customer service has been horrible not acting in an unethical manner basically allowing sellers to mistreat their buyers and doing nothing to address their horrific behavior towards people who have spent their money. They have taken a hands-off approach and basically told me if I wanted a refund, I have to go to Paypal to get it from them. This company should be shut down, as there are dozens of negative complaints about them on TrustPilot w/the exact same complaints as mine. They have a 53% negative rating outweighing all other rating categories. If you stand up to them and call them out on bad behavior, they claim you're being "abusive or aggressive" to them and to let them walk all over you and take it. Stay away from this company, and I will be reporting them to the Australian authorities to take the necessary action to shut them down.
Got banned
I had an account on Flippa and my profile had only positive reviews and I respected all their rules and never did anything wrong. But anyway they still banned my account. When I contacted Flippa and demanded some explanation, they claimed they had all the reasons to ban me. Funniest part was that they were not able to explain what that reason was! I sent them tons of messages expressing my dissatisfaction and in the end they banned me. These people are absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional! I paid for their service and now I can't even log into my account! What a joke!

Flippa Escrow
To put it simply, Flippa is an online platform allowing people to sell their websites, apps and domain names through an auction system. I decided to use them (December 2015) in order to sell one of my online businesses and was really happy to find out that they are now offering a system called “Flippa Escrow” to handle transactions safely. The way Flippa Escrow works is pretty simple: - The buyer send the money to Flippa Escrow - Flippa Escrow locks the money on their Platform - The seller verify his identity and transfer the website - The buyer is happy and click on the “Release Funds” button - Flippa Escrow sends the money to the seller Sounds great, right? If only it was working that way… After accepting a high offer for my website ($XX, XXX), the buyer and I started using Flippa Escrow. We received a first message from a person called Genie Guo, to congratulate us for the sale and connecting us personally to “Ian McFaul” (head of customer success at Flippa Escrow). He also mentioned that if we had any questions during the Flippa Escrow process, we could reach out to them directly. I then received a second email from Ian McFaul saying that they will contact me soon to ask me for specific documents in order to verify my identity. Fair enough. I told him to let me know what are the needed documents and that I will send them to him quickly. At that time, both the buyer and I, were really pleased. The very same day the auction ended, the buyer sent the money to Flippa Escrow. However, after a week without seeing the money on Flippa Escrow, we contacted them. They told us (Ian McFaul) that there was $20 missing (because of bank processing fees) and that they sent a message to the buyer to let him know about the issue and asked him to send the missing $20 via Paypal. Oddly, the buyer never received such a message (and it wasn’t in his junk folder)… Anyway, he quickly sent the $20 missing. The money was (finally) received by Flippa Escrow. I then focused on transferring my website and all the files / assets. I made sure to organize everything well to make things easier for the buyer and he was really pleased. Few days later, I received a message from Flippa Escrow saying that I haven’t replied to their previous message regarding the documents needed to verify my identity. They also said that, if I don’t send them these documents soon, they won’t send me the money and will ban me from Flippa. Wooow. Oddly (again), this message never reached my mailbox (though most of the others did). I never received any messages from Flippa asking me for specific documents. So I got back to them quickly, apologized, and asked them to tell me more about the needed documents (I made sure to CC Ian McFaul). I then received a reply from Ian, telling me that they needed a photo of my passport and a photo of myself holding the passport. I quickly took the photos and sent everything back to them few minutes after receiving his message. I thought everything was ok and I finished to transfer the website to the buyer. He was really satisfied. After couple of days, I received a another message from Flippa Escrow saying that they haven’t heard back from me and haven’t received the required documents needed to verify my identity. I started feeling frustrated as I already sent them everything couple of days ago. So I replied to their email, told them that I have already sent them all the documents, but, just in case, I’ll send them again. I attached the required documents and also sent them via WeTransfer (as Flippa gave me a link to their account). I got a notification from WeTransfer saying that Flippa Escrow downloaded my files. I then received a mail from Flippa Escrow saying that my identity was now verified. I then asked the buyer to release the funds (which he did in the next minutes). I thought everything was finally over and that the money was on its way to my bank account. But it wasn’t the case… Few days later, I received another email from Flippa Escrow saying that they haven’t heard back from me regarding the needed documents and that they will ban me (and keep the money) if I don’t send them. At that time, I was really angry. I replied to their message, telling them that I have already sent them everything several times. I re-attached all the documents, sent the WeTransfer link, added screenshots (of their messages saying that my identity was verified and another screenshot proving that they have downloaded the files). I sent this email to all the Flippa contacts I currently have (escrow support, flippa support, Ian McFaul, Genie Guo…). Since then (and it’s been more than a week), they have been ignoring me totally. I sent them several other messages, asking them to update me and find a solution to this issue but… nothing. I don’t understand how a big company like Flippa can treat their customers so badly. Would it hurt them to send me a message saying “Hey, we are sorry about the issue you’re experiencing with Flippa Escrow. We are currently working on it and it will be solved soon. We will update you tomorrow.”? They have been really quick to withdraw their “success fees” ($X, XXX). Why can’t they do the same for their sellers? As of today, I still haven’t heard back from them. I am now sending them messages everyday but it looks like they don’t care at all. Great, right? I hope my issue will be solved in the coming days. The next time I am planning to sell one of my websites, I will definitely choose a different platform. Ben
Flippa let scammers scam people!
Dear readers,
I Just would like to share my disappointment in Flippa support. I know most of you won't really care, but I think it is important to let everybody know that their support is getting worse and worse and seems to be more focused on making money than helping their members.
I really love designing, coding and everything related to web development. I have been using Flippa for a while now and have sold a lot of websites there, most of them for $x, xxx. I am also a 100% seller and have always worked hard to help my buyers develop my websites and generate revenues with them. Anyway, this isn't really important right now.
I have also been pretty active on Flippa and helped them to spot a lot of scammers (providing fake income proofs). I did it because I was getting sick to see “newbies” paying $xx, xxx for websites that will never generate any revenues (unlike what sellers were claiming with their fake Paypal proofs). Till now, Flippa has always been great and suspended these listings (pending more proofs from the sellers).
But things have changed. Now, Flippa doesn't allow sellers to claim revenues (for brand new sites) in the title of their auction(s). Nothing wrong so far. But lately, I spotted a seller scamming more and more people on Flippa. He has been creating (each week) brand new websites that have generated hundreds of dollars in couple of days. So I started to check his Paypal proofs and compared them to the ones from his other listings. I quickly found out that something was wrong, so I asked him to upload a video proof so I (and all the potential buyers) could compare it to his screenshots. The seller started to remove my comment (again and again) and kept finding “bad” reasons for not doing it. His listing ended with another winner. So I decided to report him to Flippa (with legitimate - and easy to verify - reasons).
The reply I received from Flippa really surprised me. Instead of suspending the listing and contacting the seller to verify his income claims, they simply removed the site’s earnings from the title of the auction (but not from the listing). They told me that this website is brand new and that they don’t have to verify the income claimed by the seller (even though they are clearly faked ones). They also told me that the earnings claimed are only an indication and shouldn’t be assumed that revenues would continue in that fashion (I have received two or three messages like this so far).
Basically, as long as you don’t mention earnings in the title of your auction, you can say and claim whatever you want. You can list a new website, claim that it has generated $10, 000 in couple of days (in your listing description), provide fake Paypal proofs and… sell it to a newbie who will believe all your crap. Flippa won’t do anything to stop you (they might even thank you for helping them to make more money…). This kind of mentality makes me sick.
Of course Flippa can’t verify every single listing. However, they can verify the ones that are reported with legitimate and easy to verify reasons. Suspending the auction and asking the seller to send them a video proof of income would have taken them less than 5 minutes.
This seller was clearly providing fake Paypal proofs and scamming Flippa members. Flippa knows it but still refuses to take appropriate actions to protect its members… How sad… Definitely time for a better alternative...
--------------------------------------------------
Couple of weeks ago, I reported a scammer to Flippa (with fake proofs). Flippa support simply told me that it wasn't their job to verify incomes (even though screenshots were clearly fake ones). I guess the seller was pretty happy to sell his website for $x, xxx...
The funny thing is that they told me that they appreciate all my efforts to report scammers and asked me to keep doing it...
But what is the point to keep doing it if nothing is done?
The last time, they even deleted all the support tickets of my partner after he dared to tell them that he was disappointed in their services and was planning to share screenshots of some of their messages on Forums. So Flippa deleted the whole ticket (as well as all the others). How professional...
Flippa scam artists
I Attempted to sell a website in 2012 through Flippa. I spent over $100 to have it listed and it did not sell which was fine. however, Since it did not sell I decided to keep it and try to get sales from it. I gave flippa authorization to list my site for the purpose of selling it. Now it is 2013 and they refuse to take my listing down which shows all my personal earnings and financials along with all my statistics ans such with a picture of my site and details of it. I have repeatedly asked Flippa to take it down and they are telling me If I give them money they will take it down. They are nothing but extortionists and have done this to several others to which I've found many other complaints about the same thing. flippa has an extremely bad reputation and they are scam artists. I want my listing down. It costs them NO money to take it down. They are just scammers who do this to ruin businesses which forces them to pay. This has to be dealt with and stopped. I have already contacted google and I am next going to contact about 20 other places and also going to locate every thread from every person who has complaints about this company because they are not gonna get away with this. I am going to push for a class action lawsuit against Flippa.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
BEWARE, the customer support is HORRIBLE
While the site (design, functionality, etc.) are really good, BEWARE, the customer support is HORRIBLE. They will find any reason to ban an account, and will NOT refund you the ridiculous price you paid to get your site listed.)
Buying and selling sites is a great way to make some extra cash, and it's tempting to use their service, but contact site owners directly, avoid dealing with these people.
Flippa Administration Team Scamming and Confusing - BEWARE!
The Flippa Websites Buying and Selling Administration has scammed me for 500USD+. I have paid them for listing my websites for sale there and then they scammed me for that. They are not either allowing me to sell the websites and also when asked for the REFUND then they are responding with CONFUSED messages and saying that they are NOT going to REFUND me... What the heck is this? they are just SNATCHING money from all and when asked they are just confusing the matter.
I registered a month back on Flippa.com and with the help of my developers, i started to sell websites there after paying heavy fees for them. And then Flippa started scamming me as i have seen NOT much REAL PEOPLE THERE WHO COMPLETE PURCHASES of websites and when i asked for REFUNDS then flippa started to make confusing messages in support, SUSPENSIONS, Banning of my account and instead of permitting me to complete my listing they ended it right away and said me that your amount is complete and we have nothing to REFUND you back, instead you pay us the SUCCESS FEE for other sites... what the heck kind of business you stupid Flippa.com Administration is offering to people? no assurance when and where flippa slips your money off? really pathetic!
I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK FROM FLIPPA.COM, they have no rights to take money when they are not ready to provide us the services. They are scamming for money and also wasting lots of time... I am attaching the screenshot with this report for the payments i made to flippa.

Andrew Knibbe marketing manager at flippa is repeat sex offender
I am a single mother with an 11 year old son. I recently attended an interview for a position for an internet company (Flippa.com). The man's name who scheduled my interview was Andrew Knibbe.
About 2 days later, I showed up for the interview, and Andrew was quick to hire me. He had an erie look to him, and he creeped me out to say the least. After the interview, my intuition told me that something wasn't right with this guy Andrew Knibbe. So, I decided to look up the company name and owner info to see what kind of success others were having with the service. To my surprise, I found COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS, including SEX OFFENDER ALERTS about this guy ANDREW KNIBB.

I was completely freaked out At this point I was literally scared and had no clue what this mans intentions were, and why he had called me o many times. The following day (only 3 days after our interview, when picking my son up from school I saw this same ANDRE KNIBBE, the registered sex offender who interviewed me watch my son GET INTO my car in the parking lot! I freaked out.
Called the police and called my ex-husband immediately. The cops have STILL NOT found Andrew Knibbe, as it is an open case.
