I expected to get flights at 'the best available price', and upon being told I had, I was pressured into paying for the flights as soon as possible or I'd almost certainly lose them. One would however feel safe with this decision knowing that Flight Centre 'actively promotes a set of values...including honesty', and of course offers the cheapest available price. Quoting airline websites and search engines, including some of the airlines I was ticketed for, my trip should be costing me at least $1000 less than what I was charged. My invoice specifies flight costs but doesn't specify how much or what percentage is clearly taxes. Nor was it specified that Flight Centre does not ticket all available airlines (and therefore is unable to recognise 'the best available price'). I was then refused a refund by an aggressive consultant regardless of the fact I had been misinformed. If Flight Centre employees practised the values endorsed in the Code of Conduct (honesty, integrity and transparency) then I would have been informed prior to making the payment that I am paying hidden fees and charges. Additionally, the service was terrible. I'm waiting for a proactive response and my refund.

January 14, 2011 at 5:48 pm ripp off don’t book through them! they will make false promises and when you reach your destination, there is not much you can do because you have already paid for your trip in full

If you complain to the hotel, they will blame the travel agent, and when you complain to the travel agent, they blame the vacation company. the bottom line is that they lied and collected the commission from the customer, but refuse to take responsibility for their error.

Flight centre is a complete ripp off marjorie lopez booked our flight and she is a freaking liar. we booked our flights and hotel to mexico and were promised an oceanfront room. the # charged us full price for the hotel room, and when we arrived at the hotel we were told that she did not recommend or send any acknowledgement of the room. when we complained she blamed it on signature vacations. this is the worst company to book your flights so do not book at flight centre they are the biggest liars in the travel industry.

We paid approximately $700 more than the normal price. as soon as we arrived we ended up getting some room that showed just the forest. this was the so called ocean front view.

They booked us on signature vacations, who said there was nothing they could do becuase the flight centre lied to us about the ocean front rooms

We have sent numerous letters, but they just ignored us.

Do not book your travel with flight centre they are a bunch of liars and thieves and once you pay they will not even address your complaint

January 14, 2011 at 5:48 pm ripp off don’t book through them! they will make false promises and when you reach your destination, there is not much you can do because you have already paid for your trip in full

If you complain to the hotel, they will blame the travel agent, and when you complain to the travel agent, they blame the vacation company. the bottom line is that they lied and collected the commission from the customer, but refuse to take responsibility for their error.

Flight centre is a complete ripp off marjorie lopez booked our flight and she is a freaking liar. we booked our flights and hotel to mexico and were promised an oceanfront room. the # charged us full price for the hotel room, and when we arrived at the hotel we were told that she did not recommend or send any acknowledgement of the room. when we complained she blamed it on signature vacations. this is the worst company to book your flights so do not book at flight centre they are the biggest liars in the travel industry.

My husband & I booked holiday to Greece and Egypt 2010. Recieved itinerary, everything seemed right. Flew to Kuala Lumpar then to Rome before flying onto Greece. I did ask why we had to stop over at Rome before Athens and was told it was the way unless we went to London first. Too long we thought so opted for this way. Our stop over at Rome was for 9 & a half hours. Long enough anyway! We arrived Athens at 18: 40 and as we booked through a tour we were expecting to be picked up by a representative by the tour. No one was there to pick us up. My husband's luggage didn't arrive and no one seemed to help us. Good start to our holiday so far! We caught a taxi to our hotel. Next morning when meeting our tour director she asked what happened to us the day before, as we were not at the airport when they picked us up. What the! It seems that the tour director's itinerary had us on another airline from Rome to Athens and was supposed to be at the Athens aiport at midday not 6:40 that evening. We showed her our itinerary and she was quite bewildered herself. How could the travel agency make a mistake like that? My husband recieved his luggage 3 days later, so in the mean time had to buy him new clothes. We are not happy with this travel agency and won't be dealing with them again. Will be putting a complaint in to them personally as well and hope noone else has to go through that. It was stressful and put a downer on the start of our holiday.

Purchased and prepaid for British Airways tickets from Flight Centre. Flight Centre stuff up bookings and failed to notify us in a timely manner of the stuff up, thus leaving an under aged child stranded in the UK.

We contacted Flight Centre and requested a refund within the terms and conditions of our contract.

British Airways refunded Flight Centre for the tickets with 2 business days of the cancellation occurring. Well done British Airways!

However it took Flight Centre a FURTHER 6 WEEKS to refund! During that 6 week period Flight Centre used the excuse that British Airways had not refunded them, however this was not true as we had proof from British Airways that they had refunded the money. In the meantime I had to purchase other tickets from Qantas - Qantas to their credit gave us discounted flights and really looked after us.

Moral of the above - BOOK DIRECT with the Airlines and DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM FLIGHT CENTRE!

In my opinion FLIGHT CENTRE are deceptive in their conduct and I certainly won't use them again. I have also heard of simular stories from other friends as well in relation to Flight Centre.
