This company has a Better Business Bureau rating of F for good reason. Like many others in this area we did not do our homework before signing up and paying for a full year of service. There were problems from the outset (poor, sloppy installation) and service that degraded to the point that it was less than dial up. This does not work like satellite, it is more of a wi-fi system. The customer has a radio antenna installed which bounces off a nearby antenna on a neighboring home or building and that bounces off another on down the line. If a link in the chain goes down everything in back of that goes down. In our case a neighbor had faulty equipment which caused our service to go down for days on end.

When we called "support" and finally managed to reach someone we were continually told there was someone in the neighborhood working on the problem, etc. There was no evidence of that as we know and checked everyone in the neighborhood who has this service and there were no signs of a technician in the area. (Most of their service reps seems to be contracted and these people often have regular day jobs and only service for Flashbyte on the side.)

Once the support representative tires of talking to a customer she handles things by going off on the customer or by hanging up on the customer. The owner of this company makes himself totally unavailable to customers, he will not respond to telephone calls or written communications. If a customer complains about the service or happens to make the support person unhappy she takes matters into her own hands alleging a violation of their TOS (Terms of Service) and orders their equipment to be removed with no recourse for the customer. Their TOS contains no protection or redress for the consumer in the event that the support person begins to behave in a bi-polar manner. This person is apparently the last word. This means that the customer is left without the service they have paid for even though there are months left on the contract. There needs to be better regulation and oversight of this type of service by the State or Federal Government because talking to others in this area our problem and the amount we were fleeced is little by comparison.
