Complaint Description:
On July 9th 2008 i visited this particular branch to seek help with obtaining the auto loan. The representative (Daniel Mireles) approved me within minutes and promised further assistance. I specifically asked if he will be able to help me with obtaining auto loan for the car that Im obtaining through auction sale. He promised everything we'll be done 2 days top after receiving the VIN # of the vehicle. On July 24th I called informing him that I got the vehicle i wanted and provided him with the VIN#. I specifically asked what else is needed for me to get everything done as soon as possible. Mr Mireles stated that he only needs proof of insurance for the new vehicle and the bill of sale. Next day-July 25th(Friday). I provided Mr Mireles with both documents but then he informed me that he needs copy of the title as well. I was not able to obtain the copy of the title due to auction sale. Mr Mireles submitted all the documents to the management and he said we have to wait until Monday (July 28th) to see what management says. On Monday (July 28th) I called Mr Mireles and his manager Carlos, they both stated that they cant help me until they receive the copy of the title. When I called again to see if there's really nothing we can do, manager of the branch Mr Carlos changed his mind about the title and said that he will need proof of my income (my income tax form) and proof of mortgage payments. I submitted all the documents and called to see if they got it... called 3 times within 2 hour period and each time I was promised to receive a call back. Never got it. Frustrated and short on time I went to the same bank but to a different branch. There, young gentelman help me out in a matter of an hour and submitted all the necessary documents to the underwriter also stating that they got all they need to give me the loan. Happy with the service at a different branch I wanted to switch and continue over there but I've been informed that since I started processing the loan at Melrose Park location I have to finish up over there. I called Mr Carlos to follow up and check if the documents have been signed at the underwriter. Daniel Mireles sounded angry at me because I visited a different branch seeking help and said he will call me back. Never did. On Tuesday (July 29th) I called again to see if I can get my loan taken care of. Daniel Mireles took the day off and the branch manager didn't know what's going on. I went to the bank to see if I can speak to someone. I sat inside for an hour waiting for somone to assist me. Manager of the branch didn't have time for me and sent someone else to help me - Edgar. He explained that I'm not going to get the loan because they don't do auction sale loans even though the car has been registered with the dealership and I was purchasing it from the dealer and not from the auction. I was denied the loan and marked as FRAUD in their system. Fraud? When I told him about my conversation with Daniel Mireles (back on July 9th) and the fact that I specifically asked him if he's gonna be able help me with this particular situation, Edgar replied: "I dont know what your conversation was ... you're not getting a loan". When I told him that different branch is ready to get me the loan he seemed angry and spoke to me like I should go to "that" different branch. I can't apply with that bank at a different location due to "Fraud". I lost the car because of the bad and rude service. In addition to that I received a debit card with newly opened account and the credit card from Fifth Third Bank (through mail) that i NEVER APPLIED for and was NEVER informed about.
