Fitness 19 gym closed, still being charged

The Fremont, CA Fitness 19 closed and I am still being charged monthly plus an annual $29 dollar fee. I called the Hayward, CA gym and they said to email [protected]@fitness19.com. I emailed about a week ago and have yet to receive a response. The memberships were switched from fitness 19 to planet fitness. I called planet fitness and they said my account is INACTIVE, yet I am still being charged. My email is [protected]@yahoo.com.

Fitness 19 tv volume on in area plus music on overhead speakers-inconsistent experience!

I recently joined Fitness19
I have been coming in toward out every day (except Sunday) to exercise
It is the first time I have been exercising in years.
I have been feeling great.
However,
Wednesday night I went to exercise and the volume for the Cavs game was on very loud. It felt like a sports bar.

Additionally the music for working out was playing out of the overhead speakers. CAOS!

I couldn't concentrate on my routine and rhythm .

I haven't been back since.

I'm concerned that there won't be a time to go where my experience will be consistent.

Fitness 19 overcharged

I've discovered that I'm being charged twice monthly and have proof attached. As of today, I want to cancel my membership. I request to have the extra amount of $30 reimbursed immediately. My contact info is:

Fitness 19 membership

To whom it may concern,
I had cancelled my membership back in november after getting hurt in Tough Mudder in october. I had visited and in January called about my memebership being active still. I thought all was resolved and yet I'm still getting charged.

Fitness 19 daycare

The fitness 19 daycare in Oxnard off of rose, we pay 20 bucks a month for daycare and we are always being disrupted from our workout. Our kids are well behaved but so bored there! They have dirty old broken toys in the daycare. The kids don't want to even touch them. You guys need to fix this ASAP or we will be cancelling our membership very soon! I'll take pics to post next time I'm there.

Fitness 19 sewage, climate control

My name is Daniel schmitz and I've been a member for 4+ years. My biggest concern is the facility is always hot and humid causing the windows to fog up. I've asked if they could lower the heat and they tell me the air conditioning is on which is hard to believe when it's 40 degrees outside. When it's 75 outside they open the doors and it feels like it's 85 inside. When it's 90 outside I still can't feel any cool air blowing out the vents. There's also a problem with sewage flooding the bathroom floors and we are told to use the jewel bathroom next door. There's also a broken mirror, light fixture taped together, and equipment not maintained. My workout partner does heating and air for a living and he'll even tell you the a/c is never on. Fitness 19 warning, do not go to this gym!!!

The staff is terrible, they hold you hostage. You cannot cancel membership over the phone, they force you to come into the gym where you wait at least 30-45 minutes to receive service. Then they continue to charge you even after you have canceled your membership. The staff is very rude and unhelpful. When you come in, most of them are working out and if you look like you need assistance, they look irritated. This is just a terrible gym.

Fitness 19 unauthorized charges

4/17/2017,

I want to request a refund and I also want to cancel my membership due to the charges that was taken out my credit card. I have to pay $9.99 twice for my monthly bill for me and my spouse and now they have charge me $29.00 for an annual fee that i have not been notified by them and they also said to my fiance that if you get a refund you monthly bill will increase. That is unfair and extremely not OK for me. When i signed up they have not mention about an annual fee and not mentioning about 3 month increase to my membership plan when I have asked about the annual fee and the monthly fee as well. This is RIDICULOUS!

Fitness 19 charged my son's card even tho we cancelled prior to the membership being activated

My son is developmentally delayed. He approached a table where they were offering FREE Protein Shakes and he thought he was signing up for free protein shakes. When he got home he showed me the membership agreement which his signature alone and speaking with him you would clearly understand he is developmentally delayed. The very next day we went to the gym and asked to terminate the agreement per the agreement we are able to do so being it was the day after. We were informed that informing the gym submitted the agreement would void the agreement as well as the request for termination letter as the Fitness 19 Rep stated was not necessary at the agreement had not been activated.
I reviewed my son's bank statement and noticed that his card has been charged since November 2016, with the following charges: 11/25/16 $34.95, 12/16/16 $19.95, 1/17/17 $19.95, 2/23/17 $34.95, 3/23/17 $64.90 for at total of $174.70

I spoke with Frank [protected] on March 24, 2017 & explained the entire situation here. He stated he could not speak anything over the phone and who mentioned that my son needed to be present with me when we spoke and he said due to the gym being remodeled do not come in until 4/1/17. Frank stated he had record of all the charges and did see the agreement that was dropped of. My son and I went to Fitness 19 on 4/3/17 and since Frank was leaving for lunch he referred me to Aaron who would be able to assist me. Aaron explained the fluctuating charges were for insufficient funds and had my son sing a termination form since the charges were being pulled and that termination form would cease further payments from being charged. I explained to Aaron that my son's card should have never been charged and we requested once again from both Frank and Aaron that my son be reimbursed as he cancelled the very next day, he is not competent to understand agreements, we is on limited income, and is not in need of membership. Frank has failed to return my calls and when I do speak with him he always says he will call me back and does not.

Fitness 19 membership scam

My husband and I recently moved to a new area of town. There was a fitness 19 flyer put in our mailbox. It said $10 for unlimited gym membership with a 30 day free trial. We went in and they assured us no hidden fees, $10 a month for unlimited after our 30 day trial ended. We were charged $50 for start up, and then my fee was $15 a month while my husband's was $10. Also we got hit with two $39.95 fees. When I called and asked she said oh that is an annual fee for maintenance. I said this was not explained to us and with all these costs broken down we would have stayed with our other gym which offered classes, a lot more modern equipment and showers etc. I called and spoke to the manager who said she had to talk to her corporate office but assured me she would call me back. I never heard back from her. Also, I wasn't even present to sign myself up, my husband did this. I asked to cancel mine as I travel and have only used the gym twice, to which the response is no must come in in person. How can I sign up without being there but to cancel I have to be there? I would not sign up with this gym, unless you are okay with hidden fees.

Fitness 19 closed doors with no warning

My wife and I had been members of the Commerce location in MI for a few years. We just moved to Commerce in June 2016 and were excited to hit the gym. After 8 months of our membership, we show up to work out on Saturday, February 25th, 2017. We find a note on the door that the gym has decided not to pay their rent and have closed the gym. We did not receive any letter, phone call, e-mail, nothing. No warning that they were deciding to close their doors. That is not how a professional organization should conduct business. Very shady in my opinion. Then I wanted to cancel my membership and they are charging me $120 to do so. That really is horrible customer service. You close my gym and then charge me to quit my membership? Really?!

Fitness 19 refusing to refund

I received a letter last week (2/22/2017) from our Commerce location stating they would be closing and transferring our membership to West Bloomfield. When I told them I wanted to close it (as this is not a convenient location for us), they said that the yearly membership (just paid in January!) and the monthly fees that were collected not even a week prior would not be refunded. They also said that this was instructed by "corporate", but then refused to give out any contact information for corporate or anymore else that may be able to assist. This is absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and not a gym that I will be returning to any point in the future. The worst part for me, aside from losing that yearly fee and seeing how truly shady they are, is the fact that I was employed here while in nursing school. Thanks for leaving a sour taste in my mouth, ####.

Fitness 19 gym in commerce closed, need refund of membership

Just received letter on 2/23/17 with notice that the Fitness 19 on Union Lake road in Commerce MI is closed as of 2/24/17 and was "transferring" our newly renewed membership to the nearest gym that is 30 minutes away.
Currently this transference of membership cannot be confirmed and I am told cannot get a refund of $100 that I paid for the month of February.

Fitness 19 classes

Gym classes at Fitness 19 are very popular. We used to have a ticket system which they would start giving out 30 mins before class there was no rule that you had to wait for a ticket but some people came early and waited. It was working good until people would left they water bottles in the line to "hold their spot" and then return with 2 or 3 other people who either showed up at the last min or that person called them to cut in line. This cause a lot of problems with staff and gym membership until the staff said they wont do tickets anymore. Now the problem is the classes are beyond full and are sometimes over the maximum capacity. I believe this is a danger if something would happen how would people get out. I told the staff at the gym but they said it too much "babysitting" to collect numbers or tickets. This is something that they did before. I believe there should be some system to keep track on how many people are in the class. Tickets stop about September 2016

Fitness 19 employee training

My daughter interviewed for the daycare position. They told her they would let her know if she was hired in a few days. They called her the next day at 2pm and asked her to fill in for a shift at 4pm that day. No training was provided to her and she completed no paperwork. They left her by herself. Parents should not take their children there. There are no protocols for safety or training at all. When she told them she wasn't coming back due to these reasons they told her she was a bad employee and they didn't have to pay her because she didn't give a 2 week notice. We intervened and she did get paid after multiple phone calls and visits. DON'T GO THERE!

Fitness 19 kids club certifications

I am a member as well as my 3 year old son whom attends the kids club. I asked the lids club attendant about CPR certification and Trust line certification which she had neither. I brought up to the club manager and he told me he's the only on who needs to be CPR certified. The manager is not there all day and that worries me. I do not want to risk my sons safety or any other child's safety in the hands of someone who doesn't have the right certifications to care for the kids . They have plenty of infants who attend the facility with their parent and plenty of small toys such as Lego's, broken toy parts which can end up in the child's mouth. I'm really concerned about this, please do something about this and have the employees get the right certifications in the facility or this will have to be taken to the next level if nothing is to be done .

Fitness 19 keep charging my card. when I repeatedly told them I only wanted 2 months membership

I moved to Arroyo Grande for a 2 month period. I repeatedly told the girl that signed me up that I only wanted month to month. She told me that wasn't possible and that I needed to pay for 3 months at the least. And said i couldn't join without giving them a credit card number. After the 3 Months they charged me again. And continued to do so. I wrote a letter giving a full description of the problem at hand. The letter I mailed to the corporate office was returned and the letter mailed to the Arroyo Grande location was not responded to. I was then charged once again. AFTER repeated attempts to explain myself and the situation and their incompetent aND dis respectful employees. They are all liars and play into the scam. I so regret ever walking into that horrible place. It has turned into a nightmare and I will be seeking legal action against them. Since they continually charge me and i dint even live remotely close to that area anymore. It is disturbing and discusting how they treat people and how they continually STEAL money from people and frankly don't give a care. They are dishonest con artists. Have a scam going on. And once they get your credit card number they take full advantage of a person. They are going to get turned into the better business Bureau and be heading from my attorney as well! They are not running a business they're running a scam! Period

Fitness 19 cancelled membership

I cancelled my membership and they are still billing me 4 months later and yesterday they billed my card for the annual fee. They are stealing my money and no one will help me. I have been up there and they said they cancelled it and they lied. If anyone knows how I can get this to stop, please tell me. I am a single mom and need my money.

Also I only went 2x. The first time I went I didn't know how to use the equipment and the employees were too busy on their phones to help me. I complained and they said they would help me the next time. I went back and they said they were short handed. They only have time for you when you're opening a new membership.

I want my money back!

Fitness 19 trying to cancel membership

We cancelled our membership 2 months ago and were told we would get our refund of $39.95 in the mail. Welp it's been 2 months and we have gone in 4 times and spoke with the general manager and he keeps pitting us off. This place sucks! He also said they can't give us a number to the district mananger. I'm about ready to sue them. Good thing my cousin is an attorney, I Will get my money back!

Fitness 19 inappropriate staff behavior

I have been a member at Fitness 19 for 5 years now. My now 17 year old daughter has joined the gym with me as well. Unfortunately, staff member Justin Sheehan has found it acceptable to approach, flirt and make inappropriate comments with my daughter; a minor being approached by an adult and at work in the past several weeks! I'm appalled and disgusted. What makes it worse is my daughter isn't the only target as this staff member deems it acceptable to do the same with other members.
