I have made payments to consolidate a debt in two payments equal to 162 dollars and they have not been able to provide me with documentation that the debt will be removed from my credit

Collection agency's cannot remove this from your credit report! It will change the status paid off - but it remains on your report for at least 7 years.

If they told you that paying it off would remove it -THEY LIED!
But that's what collection agencies do!

Kiss your money goodbye. First National Collection Bureau does not actually collect for outstanding debt. They somehow obtain credit reports which show that a debt has been defaulted, then tells the defaulter that they are collecting that debt for the original company that provided the credit. However, they are lying. They are not the actual collection company for that debt. They also call people and make up phony defaulted debt and try to get people to pay. They claim that my wife defaulted on a Finger Hut account for $164. My wife never had a Finger Hut account and never ordered anything from Finger Hut. We hadn't even heard of Finger Hut before they called.

Bottom line, FNCB is a scam. Never pay them any money without first confirming that you owe the debt, that the statute of limitations has not expired on the debt, and that FNCB has legally purchased the debt.
