First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] Collections

I received a vague letter from this agency that include very little infirmation to believe it is valid.. They are stating they are working for First National bank of Omaha

Debt description:Rakuten for $887.38

For the account ending in 6508. They are attempting to offer me a settlement for a debt of either $443.68 or 4 payments of $110.92. With no reason to believe this has been brought to the court as is the law.

I believe the debt is beyond the statue of limitations in Maine and they are in violation of this: They did not disclose the last payment on record or closing date of this account.. The violation are as follows:

Acting on time-barred debt. A debt collector may not initiate a collection action when the debt collector knows or reasonably should know that the collection action is barred by the limitations period as set forth in subsection 8.

[PL 2015, c. 272, §2 (NEW).]

8. Limitations period for debt collectors. A debt collector may not commence a collection action more than 6 years after the date of the consumer's last activity on the debt. This limitations period applies notwithstanding any other applicable statute of limitations, unless a shorter limitations period is provided under the laws of this State. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, when the applicable limitations period expires, any subsequent payment toward, written or oral affirmation of or other activity on the debt does not revive or extend the limitations period.

[PL 2015, c. 272, §2 (NEW).]

I believe there are other violations also..Please look into this matter..I am also requesting a cease and desist order as well as any and all negative information to be removed from their possesion..I never entered a agreement to involve themselves in this matter.. Never was informed by the original creditor..When this situation occured..I had became ill and filed for ssdi. I contacted the creditor and explained my hardship never to hear from them again on the matter...I am protected under federal law from garnishment etc .

I am just a regular citizen and don't know the legal wording..Hopefully I explained my complaint clearly..

Yours truly,

Stephen Moore

Desired outcome: Cease and desist from contact, remove negative info that comes from this..A settlement for damages if it is deemed they violated my rights in this matter...

There are certain legal requirements to which a settlement agreement must adhere to be valid and legally binding. Once a settlement agreement is complete, it must be presented to and approved by a judge.

Has this happened? Where is my copy of the judges approval?

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] Judgement entered against me

I received a letter stating a judgement has been entered against me and that I owe $19, 658.66.The judgement date is 08/30/2018 from Sears National Bank. I had a Sears account about 20 years ago that had a credit limit of maybe $1000. I'm sure it was paid off years ago. There is no way I owe this money. Either this is bogus or someone took out a card in my name. I tried goin to this company's website but, it did not work. Also, the address of the company is different than the one listed above. Is this company fake?

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] I paid this account off

I paid this account off and my bank has copies of cashiers check for future problems with other people claiming this account. It got paid 2014 and this card was over 10 years old. On my credit score shows paid off. Where they got this information from is beyond me. I think this is a scam and I probably would of paid it again. So I got a lawyer here in Alaska that will deal with this if needed.

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] abusive customer service.

I received a letter today from these scam artists trying to tell me that I owed $124 to a bank that I have never dealt with in my life! I phoned them and got a very abusive young man who when I refused to verify my SSN told me in no uncertain terms that I would "Pay extra for trying to lie to us"

All I was trying to ask for was how I could be liable for a bank debt in Florida when I have always lived in WA and nothing has appeared on any of my credit reports for at least the past 8 years regarding this bank account (Wachovia). He again got abusive and assured me that they had the proof and would look forward to making me pay at least double in court if I chose to continue denying that I owed them and didn't settle either straight away or by using their payment stub within the next 30 days.

At this point I was getting more than a little frustrated and annoyed but I know better than to lose my temper when a conversation might be being recorded so I politely told him that his company could expect a registered letter from me within the next 7 business days disputing their claim and asking for validation and not verification as their original letter stated they would provide. He laughed at this point and said they are both the same so please go ahead.

Now having had to deal with bottom feeders like this once before I took great delight in informing him that they are not the same and simply saying you have verified a debt is not the same as legally validating it by supplying full proof.

At this point he hung up on me!

So first thing tomorrow my letter will be sent with return receipt requested along with a filed copy of the contents ;) It will be interesting to see what their reaction will be as I get the feeling that this company deals in long noncollectable zombie debt and just tries to use threatening tactics to get people who either don't owe the debt or are outside the SOL to pay them.

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] midland funding llc

I received a letter today dated January 25, 2011, advising me that my "delinquent account" has been assigned to their office for collection by Midland Funding. The amount is for 2, 321.79. First off, I do not know who Midland Funding is. Second, they tell me I can use a credit card to pay them! They ask for five payments of $185.74. They sent this to my married name. Any debts I may have have been incurred under my maiden name. Am I correct to ignore this?

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] harassment

This company called me and said I owed $8, 100.00 on a Ford truck I had repossesed from me in early 2002. First of all that debt is past the statute of limitations - if there ever was a debt. I say if there was a debt because I paid for the repossesion and paid the IRS about $3, 000.00 in 2003 for the "bad debt" - that the real financial company holding the contract - wrote off as bad debt.
So somehow this company has a way to dig up "historical debt" and try to convince you is is "real debt" that they hold over you.
That is DECEPTIVE PRACTICES and AGAINST THE LAW!
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, enforces the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from you.

If you live in Texas, sign up fo rthe Texas No-Call List, then, notify them (and record the notification call, or certified letter), not to call again. Then, document when they do, and start filing complaints with the State Atty General's Office, they have an on-line form-EACH call after notification can be fined $1000! I did this to another ### company, and they were fined $10, 000.00, then they finally stopped! It works and is the best way to deal with them in Texas...of course unless they come in person, , , well then you'll know what to do:-)!

I was told it was 10 years in my state at least, but I'm not sure, never dealt with collections before, I just think getting a lawyer is helpful in those situations if they chose not to listen or just ignore the call. My parents pay my credit card and student loans I just pay for my car possessions and my boyfriend bought our house so I've never had the opportunity to deal with money issues yet. But if you look on the internet you can find all the information, or don't report it on here, it's not like the collection agency is responding at all.

They can still collect on the debt until 2012, it's 10 years. And you have to dispute with them and have proof to show you made those payments. If it's still an issue hire a lawyer to help you with the case.

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] verbal harassment

I have been verbally harassed by two employees of this company about a debt I owe on an old cell phone bill with AT&T. I have attempted to work with this company to pay my bill, however they refuse to accept that I can only afford to pay $50.00 a month and screamed at me on the phone demanding $100.00, this horrible womain (Alden) who screamed at me and actually had me in tears. What is my recourse? I talked to the manager and he was just as bad, I am thinking of suing as I have attempted to make arrangements to pay on this and they will not accept my offer. I only owe 264.00 total. I do not want to deal with this company and refuse to talk to them on the phone. It can't possibly be legal the way they are going about this.

Get Legal Shield, guys. I actually just cancelled my legal shield bc I cant afford the 20 per month at the moment. But they prepared all kinds of documents that made companies stop harassing me before. It's really awesome that $20 bucks a month gets you up to 31 hours of attorney service (one per day) on any civil (non-criminal) complaint. If you are getting unfair bills or treated unethically by companies you don't directly owe money to, this is a great resource to make it stop, without needing thousands of dollars on a lawyer.

They tried harrassing my father. Boy did they get what they were not expecting.
FDCPA-Faid Debt Collections Practices act protects the consumer. They were verbally harrasing him, I was visiting for the week. They got me on the phone, I sent them a cease and desist. Also sent them a copy of the fair debt collection practices act section 802. They hung up on me and told me to never contact their office again..lol

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] phone harrassment

10/11/2009 9:00AM Call received from First National Collection Bureau (Automated Call) This is the 4th automated call received from this company in the past 3 weeks. The call states they are looking for a Christopher Smith and if there is no one here by that name to press a 1 or 2 (not sure which) to stop receiving these calls. We pressed whichever number would show no Chris at this number on all previous calls, but have kept receiving the calls.

We have had problem with this company in the past over the same issue but they kept calling us anyway even though we called and spoke with several different people and one supervisor and informed them that no Christopher has ever lived here. After speaking with a manger, Dwayne Walker, once before, the calls stopped for a short time and then began again recently.

I spoke with Dwayne Walker again today, 10/12 at 12:05PM and he assured me that no further calls would be made to our phone number.

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] bogus debt

They are sending me letters trying to collect on an old debt from AT&T wireless. I was an employee for 2 1/2 years and when I left the company they said I owed for early termination of contract. That was over 7 years ago. I called AT&T and they searched for me by my name and SSN and could not find me in their system. I was told that if I had an outstanding debt that I would be in the system. He searched back 15 years.

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] settlement letter

I received a letter from this company offering a settlement for a debt that was suppose tobe my husbands. I requested the original contract and the date it was open but they did not seem to want to send that to me. Tonight A call came intomy home from someone named Manual and my daughter got the call. She took a message and this Manual gave her the information that he was from a collection agency and he had the info I was requesting andleft a number to call him back. I called him back and beleive it or not he was not available to talk to me. He knew he was wrong leaving that kind of message with my daughter and really wrong when he gave me all the information last time on the phone and I told him my husband and I were divorced. He knew it before all the private information was given to me. Now I will be turning them in for this.

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] phone harrasment

I recieved about 4 automated calls today all of which were to my personal cell phone. I waited on the phone each time for at least 10 minutes wasting my cell phone minutes in the process, finally a representative gets on the phone on the 4th call and says i owe them $2400.00 on a capitol one card that i took out in 1998. It is July 16th 2009. They are calling me about a charge that was made in 1998? That is over 11 years old which my ex wife took out in my name during that time. The maximum limit on that card at the time was $300.00 not there saying after 11 years i owe them $2400.00? They also said they been trying to reach me at 2 different addresses that i have not lived at in over 7 years. They also said this is not on my credit but i still owe them the money. I basically told them to go [protected]@ck themselves and i was not paying them a dime. This should have been taking off my credit years ago and that this is just harrassment at this point. They even had the last 4 of my social which is scary to me. I googled this company online and saw that they are on numerous blacklist sites for harrasment. [redacted].com had quite a few articles on them. Now i have to contact all 3 of my credit bureaus to get this straightened out. What a nightmare!

I am having similar problems with this company. They keep calling my cell phone and leaving a VM. when I call them to find out what this is about they tell me that my phone # does not show up on their list. I talked to a supervisor who said she would take me off the list. When I asked her why the other lady told me I was not on the list she handed the phone back to the other lady who said her supervisor would look on another list to see if I am there. Really getting tired of this.

just for your information dude, just because your debt is over the stats of limitations does not mean they cannot collect on the account, it mearly means it doesnt effect your credit and there cant be a judement made on you. The balance was probably so much because you ignored the bill for 11 years. if you knew your ex wife did something in your name and you didnt file a police report then ya your still going to owe the money. idk why you guys all hate collection bereaus when you're the one not paying your bills. its the same as stealing. and a lot of time debt collections offer huge settlements some as low 30% of the
full balance. dont blame these people for your negligence of your own bills.

Here is your solution: I am a satisfied customer and writing this to help others. The call is free and so is the service to you.
Okay folks there are a lot of agencies that think they can punk you into paying even after you say stop, cease and desist etc. They try to tel you that you have to do it in writing and that they will keep calling you. This is the solution. Tell the person that you want there name, and you want the debt verified in writing (it helps if you have a P.O. box or UPS store box. When you get the letter copy it and write a letter saying that this is not your debt and they are to cease and desist. Document the name of the person who called and keep your phone bills showing that the collection company called and what you told them. Most of the time they will stop calling you if not tell the person who calls this time that you have disputed the debt per FDCPA and they are in violation. If they become argumentative get the person's name and call Krohn and Moss attorneys for FDCPA. [protected]. I did this and sued the collection agency recieving a settlement and the best part of it was that I did not have to pay a dime, it was all covered in the settlement. I provided copies of my phone bill and a written statement informing the court that I told these people to leave me alone and they didn't. Part of the settlement was a deletion of the aledged debt from my credit. Call them, it is free to you and they will leave you alone.

I received a letter for a settlement from First National Collections Bureau. There's no First National Collections bureau on my credit reports (experian, transunion, or equifax), nor do I have an account with Cross Country Bank which they claim to be collecting the debt for. I called them and they were very hesitant to give me the Cross Coutnry Bank information they claim I owe a debt for. According to Cross Country Bank, they don't do business with this company. Do not give any information to these people. They are fraudulent and probably found an old bill in the trash or something...

They have called and called us on a Capital One card. The limit was $200 and now they say we owe $1900.00. It has been deleted from our credit because the other collection agency couldn't verify the debt. They call us and leave messages and only say 191 at your earliest convenience and that is it. The only way I know about them and this number is google it and also we got a letter stating we owe. Very strange. Needless to say I sent a dispute letter today, certified mailing. If it doesn't work let them take us to small claims, I have all documentation showing trying to get this resolved. UGH.. Nightmare!

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] being repeatedly called by this company, who are unable to find any records for me

This company has repeatedly called me on my cellphone, and then is unable to find any records for me under my name or telephone number. I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling me unless they actually have reason to do so. My credit is excellent and I have no overdue accounts.

If you receive a call from "1st National Collection Bureau" at [protected] do not speak with them. Ask them to send you the "said collection" by mail for your review.

They called for my wife attempting to collect a "so-called" debt from [protected]. Be aware that EVERY state has a "Statute of Limitations" on "credit cards" and utilities. I informed the Collection Agent that whatever they were trying to collect was NOT VALID since collection of "said debt" was out of Virginia's (3) Yr. Statute of Limitations Period. She proceeded to argue with me and I quoted her the Virginia Statute Code and requested she contact their attorney because if I received (1) more call from their number I was filing a $5, 000 harassment lawsuit against them due to telephone harassment. She stated she'd have her "Manager" call my wife. I can't wait for the Manager's Call ... I could use a $5, 000 check because of their ignorance. If anyone has any questions on calls like these...I'd be happy to assist you. Contact me at: Patriots1167@aol.com

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] jennifer olson

Received a collection letter from the company informing me of a $2, 000 debt. The original account was opened by a person in Los Angeles, CA. I have had previous bills sent to me with the same information. A previous account was proven to be fraudulently sent up. The individual lives/lived at 1140 W 90th St. Apt. 1 Los Angeles, CA [protected]. My social security number was used in obtaining this account. I have never lived in Los Angeles and submitted bills proving my residence at the time of the setup of the cable/ internet .

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] can't stop calls for wrong person

I have been getting calls from this collection agency every day for over a month now. I tried to call back to inform them that the person they were looking for is not at the number they have on record. But the furthest I can go is a prompt to wait for a live agent. And that live agent never gets only...

This is getting very annoying, especially they show NO consideration when calling during the weekend at early hours of the morning or at dinner time. I find this very unprofessional and very rude on their part. I wonder if this company even revelant because there were a few tims when I answered the phone, I got an automated voice system stating that if I am not so-and-so, then hangup immediately. Which I did! Thinking that they will get the message and remove my name from their calling list. But NO! The calls keep on coming, more frequent now. I doubt that I could get any response from anybody if this is the way they operate their business. I sure hope they are charged for long distance calls... If so, I will leave my phone on for hours...

I wish not having to change my phone number because of just one uneducated organization. I sure hope this will put a stop to this mess somehow.

Thank you for letting me vent and for provide me ways to deal with such annoying business operation of this firm.

Diane

First National Collection Bureau [FNCB] terrible experience

I have had the horrible experience to work at this organization and this individual Diane Hall should be fired and sued for the tactics that she encourages and uses to try and collect monies for financial obligations. I guess they have never heard of the Fair Debt Collections and Privacy Act, or she can not read. I have witnessed first hand her gross and blatant violations of the FDCPA.

I just can not believe that the company would allow such a liability, I give this company a very short time before the doors are shut and they are the ones in collections.
