Continental Finance credit card

I closed my card about 13 months ago due to extremely high yearly fee. Since then I have been focused on paying the balance off at 30% interest. They have been charging me a $5 monthly maintenance fee ever since I closed the card. I asked that they remove the $5 monthly fee because card is not active and they refused. I want the $5 monthly fee removed foe the past 13 months.

I agree with this. I paid my account off and closed it in August 2022. But they keep sending me a bill, it’s now at $283. How can I owe this when the account is closed and paid off. If they continue to harass me I will be getting a Lawyer. My credit report is in the toilet now thanks to this company

Continental Finance - fees

To rebuild my credit I allied for a MartiX Discover card finance by Continential Finance. I understood the set up fees and annual fee and paid them. They gave me a credit limit of $350.00, paltry, but understood. I keep the account at least $100.00 below the credit limit and paid $62.50 by-weekly keeping the account more than current. At the end of a 12...

Continental Finance fraudulent company

My ex-girlfriend was able to open up an account in my name with a 300.00 credit limit. After receiving the card, the 300.00 credit limit was reduced to approximately 80.00 due to fees associated to the card. Payments to this card had a 7-12 day holding, which in turn only realistically gave me 1/2 a month to use the card. At one point they denied receiving payment and charged late fees, penalties, and over balancing the 300.00 credit limit. I filed a complaint to the BBB. The company denied receiving payment. The card goes in collection and instead of a normal charge-off, in the fine writing they are allowed to charge interest while sitting in collection. Now I have to go to court for a 2000.00 lawsuit. Where is the justice for the consumers scammed by businesses like this. Lets do the math 300.00 to a 1700.00 swing...

Continental Finance harassment

That phone number is for process servers out of California who claim that I owe this stupid credit card over $1600. If I did have this card, which I cannot recall that I ever did for sure, my limit would not have been that amount due to my poor credit. This "finance" company that the bill has been referred to is also threatening to serve me with papers to sue me! I have no idea what is going on. ###. They don't even talk to me like I'm human.

If they haven't served you with the papers yet, write a letter asking them to validate the debt. It will buy you some time at the very least if you can get it to them in time. Look up "Debt Validation" in google

Continental Finance recent credit report

I applied and received a credit card through Continental Finance earlier this year, and since I was starting school, I decided to pay my student fees with the card. Since the fees were only $48.00, and I remember this because when I initially recieved the card, I was told by a customer service representative that my limit for my first purchase was of $50.00 until I made a $250.00 payment to receive my full limit of the card. One month later, I went on line and made my paymet and paid the $48.00 charge which I had acquired on the card from my recent purchase. Since I had not made any other purchases, I decided to continue making the minimun monthly payment in order to receive my full available credit.

Yesterday when I was attempting to co-sign for my little sister's car payment, it appeared on my credit history that I had failed to make payments on the card and owed them $500.00. I ask myself, how is this possible if the card had a limit of $300.00 which I never reached and was making the monthly minimum payments. As a result of this, I am now waiting to hear from the lender to be approved as a co-signor and the vehicle which we were initially going to make the offer on, might be sold to a different buyer.

Continental Finance fraudulent practices

This financial institution has fraudulent, unfair practices. I was one day late on making my monthly payment when a phone call was received by a representative of The First Bank of Delaware Continental Finance. They informed me that I was "seriously past due." i stated, it was only one day late and that I would go online to pay the bill. They informed me that since it was one day late and according to them, seriously past due, I was being charged $35.00. This was in addition to my monthly payment of $35.00. So I was being charged $70.00 for being one day late. I asked if there was any sort of grace period and they informed me that they had no grace period. Further, if I made my payment online, as I do all my bills, it would take two weeks before the payment would be posted to the account, leaving me an available credit on the card. I have never heard of such practices on a credit card. I requested to have the card cancelled. I recently ran my credit report and noticed that in just one month's time, from closing the account to running my credit report, the credit limit of $300.00 which was what I owed had increased to just under $500.00. Then the calls began. The credit card company calls me on a daily basis harrassing me or when I answer, they simply hang up on me.

I am lodging this complaint. I am not pleased with how they conduct business. I am well aware that I have less than perfect credit, but do not deserve to be treated this way or to have fraudulent practices used against me. I am requesting a complaint be made on my behalf and to have this matter resolved. I do not owe the credit card company the money they claim on my credit report and I would like this amount adjusted or removed completely from my file.

Continental Finance settlement and no luck with csc

After falling behind in my payments and after closing my account back in March I have been getting charged late fees and when I stated numerous times to there customer service reps they informed me that they could not offer me a pay off amount and that I need to continue making my payments as normal. They only thing that matters to me right now is getting the settlement amount so that I can go ahead and start making payments to get this done and over with. I hope that you can help me.

Continental Finance has me in tears

Got this card to rebuild my credit after a bankruptcy. Have had it for at least a year.

How sad that this means I can be constantly harrassed by email and phone, regardless of IF I HAVE PAID ON TIME. Payment due in a week? Here's an email. Already paid 2 days ago? Their absolutely RUDE representatives will yell and and tell you you are late. I live on the west coast and paid my bill on the due date, during business hours. Well, since they are on the east coast, if I dont pay by 2pm est, they say you pay late! Who else on earth has rules like this? I'm writing this today because I got in a monster screaming match with the rep (who can never see that youve paid online) and her useless manager Jennifer "I cant give you my last name". I ended up nearly pooping a blood vessel with rage and hung up on her. SHE CALLED ME BACK. Of course I didnt answer because I'm not a glutton for punishment and I dont need a heart attack. I will be placing my 3rd BBB complaint in a few minutes. Bad Credit? Hey, save yourself a headache and dont go through these people. Not nice. They claim to help, but here's the rub: If you cant take the abuse and end up closing your card, it damages your credit you endured hell for to rebuild. PASS.

I have this credit card. I made a payment in June of 2007 of 225.00. In November of 2007 they reversed this payment and charged me fees. I made multiple phone calls and even faxed my bank statement too them showing them that I had made this payment and they had put it on the correct account. It is now 2 1/2 months later and they still have refused to fix this and are charging me late fees. I refuse to send these people anymore money because they already stole from me.

My credit card was due to expire at the end of February, and I have yet to receive my new card. It is now mid-April. I have reported my card lost twice only to find out that they never actually mailed the card to me. I know they have the correct address because I've been receiving the bill and the pin number for each of the cards they supposedly sent me. This company is definitely not worth dealing with.

I am having a problem getting to the speak with a live agent and the automated system is not recognizing my account number so I cannot get through the system. There should be prompt to get to a live agent at all times. This is causing a problem, a very serious problem payment wise nor can I explain the problems I'm having with my card to an automated system.

I ordered a Continental Finance card. After I received it, I used it to pay some small bills. After seeing their maintenance fees, I realized that no matter when or how I paid I was always listed as a late payment. Then I ended up hospitalized, and the account went further delinquent. When I finally came home and got access to my mail, I paid off the card and closed the account. I had cut up the actual card months before.

Three weeks later I received a bill with a service fee and a late charge. I called again. I refused to pay a late fee, but paid the service fee. I was promised that they would remove the late charge and the account would be closed. They told me they could not give me a confirmation number because they were not authorized to do it themselves but had to send it to another department.

Three weeks later I received another bill, this time with two late fees on it, and a service fee. They claimed to have no record of my previous call. I repeated the process. I paid the maintenance fee, and they promised to remove the late charges. I called a week later to confirm this was done. They had no record of this again, but assured me it would be resolved.

Now...I pulled up my credit report and have found that since then I have married, and moved. I am at home with a full-term pregnancy on bed rest, and I am mad. All these past 9 months I have been being billed...for services I never received on an account that I have attempted to close four times. Every bill I ever got from them had incorrect information. Furthermore, I never received any initial bills, only ones saying I was late. I fail to understand. I can't pay a card on time that won't send me bills on time. I think it's a scam to ensure the extra fees every month, and as debilitated as I was, they should be ashamed for this sort of exploitation. I have called them and told them my situation, and they told me to pay off all my fees and close the card. I cannot bring myself to do that...this is too dishonest. I am seeking to find out what my legal rights are. I must have some.

Continental Finance a terrible company!!

Where do I start? First of all, by the time you receive the card in the mail they have already tacked on almost $225 worth of senseless fees. Then when you make your monthly payment only 50% goes towards the principal balance because they have more monthly senseless fees and this is what really pissed me off- when you pay your bill they hold your payment for 7 days! It only takes 1 -2 days for the payment to clear my bank every month and up until this month they used to allow conference calls with your bank to confirm that the payment had cleared and then once it was confirmed by your bank's representative then Continental would release the hold on your payment and the funds would be available. And I was just informed by the rudest customer service rep ever, Laurie, (and that's another complaint- they have terrible customer service reps!) that we stopped doing the conference calls last month. So I told Laurie that I had been contemplating cancelling my credit card anyway because of bad experiences with the company and instead of her trying to save a customer (as I was taught to do when I worked customer service) she said ok and hung up on me! WARNING TO EVERYONE- DO NOT APPLY FOR A CREDIT CARD FROM CONTINENTAL FINANCE!

Continental Finance theft, fraud, scam, dishonest

I am a single mom with 3 kids who is owed $ by a dead beat father over 100K. My credit was ruined by him as all bills & credit cards were in my name. I received an offer in the mail for a small secured credit card that insisted it would help me establish better credit & they would report to all 3 bureaus. I'm very skeptical over things like this so I called 1st to make sure it was a legit company & it was after doing extensive research with the BBB. They convinced me my credit rating would increase after 3 consecutive payments. I understood the 50.00 processing fee so I agreed to pay it. I needed to start somewhere to repair my credit. After paying the 50.00 that I didn't even really have to spend I received a bill in the mail that i found a bit odd. I hadn't even used the card yet & had given them $50.00. I had a bill saying I owed $247.00 yet I had not even used my card yet. I called & they told me which they failed to tell me from the beginning that since it was secured this would have to be paid in order for me to have a $350.00 limit. After reviewing the bill I also noticed all kinds of $35.00 late fee charges, $19.00 monthly charge and serveral other taxes & fee charges. A week later I ended up in the hospital having 3 major surgeries. I missed 7 weeks of work & had medical documents stating this that I faxed them to show why I couldn't make a payment. (I had already said with the monthly fees I wanted to cancel my card but they said I couldn't do that until my balance was paid off!) Not to mention I'm on the do NOT call list & they call my house starting at 7:30 am and don't quit until 9pm daily. After i returned to work & recieved a small check i sent in a $95.00 payment. (It was all I could afford) Last week I received a bill in the mail & it now shows that my balance is over $900.00, I paid 50.00, spent only $13.00 & it's over $900.00! I paid $50.00 to get a credit card, I made one charge of $13.00 for my daughters school pictures and now my credit is way worse & I'm over $900.00 in debt with this company. Isn't this usery? How is this legal? I have saved & recorded messages & voice clips from them threatening me saying they are going to garnish my hard earned wages & I can barely even afford to feed my children on my fixed income. When I try and work something out with them which I don't even feel like I should have to they disrespect & degrade me. They are inconsiderate & are extremely rude & hurtful. This company has seriously ruined everything for me. I was in way better shape before they came along and now it looks like i'm going to be involved in a law suit as they keep threatening me with one. If anyone has dealt with anything similiar please post a message. They need to be put out of business. It's unfair, dishonest & pathetic they'd take advantage of innocent people who are truly trying to repair their credit. Someone please help me. I'm begging anyone to speak up and tell their experience. There has to be a way that we can put them away and not be taken advantage of. Thank you to anyone who will respond to me or help. I truly appreciate the good & honest people in this world.

Continental Finance returned payments

Like others, I've made an online payment ($40.00) and had it returned without any record of it ever being submitted to the bank - I was also charged the $35 returned payment fee. After lengthy conversations with the Continental Finance customer service and the EZ Card Info technical support (who is the third-party hired to process online payments), nobody could produce any record of the payment actually being submitted to the bank or any record of it being returned. In the meantime, the bank confirmed that no payment was ever submitted and no record of the payment being returned - something also verifiable through my bank statement. I faxed a copy of the statement to Continental Finanace, mentioned the similar reports of payment problems from others, and uttered the words "class action lawsuit" and they offered to reverse the $35 charge. The Continental Finance representative warned me not to use the online service and urged me to use their phone service...which comes with a $10 per payment fee. I strongly recommend that you avoid these people - it is clear that they, through their 3rd party, are using illicit means to gain extra fees from people who, generally, won't make a fuss about it. (I should mention that another card I use operates through the same EZ card Info website and I have never had a payment problem there.)

Continental Finance fraud

I have been a cardholder since 2006. I have always paid at least the minimum due and my payments have always been early. Imagine my surprise when receiving my Feb. 2009 statement and seeing that not only was I overlimit, but that many other charges were applied to my account. I had a "late fee", "overlimit fee", and a "cli" fee which was explained as a "Credit line increase fee". After finally reaching a "Human", he explained that my payment had been cancelled online at their website ezcardinfo.com. I explained that I had the receipt but he was indignant and stated that Continental had no control over the website as far as online payments and that since it was showing cancelled, they had no recourse but to charge the fees. I explained once again that I had not cancelled the payment. He said that he was sorry but there was nothing he could do. What a good way to make money. I know that times are tough, but why cheat a good customer? There has to be something better!

I paid off my rip off Continental Finance card in Feb 2008. While my check was enroute to Continental Finance for my pay off, Continental Finance "claims" my "monthly service fee" occured and I still owe them $112.00. Over my dead body will this rip off, fraudulent company get another penny from me. Continental Finance people call my home 5-6 times a day harrassing me. I spoke with 6 different supervisors in which one supervisor told me, "your account is zero and listed as paid as agreed, no one will be bothering you again". That very same day someone from "Continental rip off " called me and said, "while your check was enroute to us a "monthly" finance charge occured so you still owe us money". Needless to say this ### got a royal earful from me and I slammed up the phone. If Continental Finance thinks they are going to keep calling my home 5-6 times a day and ruin my credit with false credit reporting they have another think coming and I will sue them.

Continental Finance high fees

I received an offer to apply for this card. Once I received it, I was told that there was a 150.00 processing fee along with a monthly fee of 50.00 every month. I knew of the processing fee. I am trying to reestablish my credit. I did not know of a 50.00 monthly fee.

My first bill was due on the 2nd of the month but I don't receive money until the 3rd. I called and asked could I make my payment on the 3rd and the guy told me it was fine.

At 1:00 pm on the 2nd, I received an indignant call from Continental Finance demanding the money then. I explained to the person who called of the previous conversation that I had. She all but called me a lie and told me that they don't have a grace period and I would be charged a $35.00 late fee no matter who I had talked to.

I spoke with her supervisor, who informed me that if I paid the bill by the 3rd prior to 3:00 pm that I may be okay. He did inform me to make the payment over the phone would be a $10.00 and to make online is $5.00.

I choose to pay the bill by the cheapest means online, but you cannot access their online bill paying system. Ironic, isn't it.

Continental Finance unauthorized charges

A few months ago I applied for this credit card in hopes of rebuilding my credit. Although I knew about the initial fees, I did not realize their unethical methods of charging late fees on your account.

When I first activated the card, I was contacted by a very rude employee asking that I make a payment. This was of course two weeks before my scheduled due date. After I made the payment, I was told that my payments are due on the 15th each month.

Well, after making my next payment on time I realized I had been charged a late fee. When I called them to ask why, they said because my payment was due on the 12th. This was completely bogus because we had agreed that the payment is due on the 15th each month. Not only do they change due dates on you causing additional charges, they charge you all kinds of fees for just making your payment.

Once I realized the unethical standards of this company, I asked them to cancel this card. It will be interesting to see if they actually do it. My advice: Stay away from this company.

Continental Finance no card ever received and I got a bill before it was activated

This is truly some b.s., I applied for a MC with Continental Finance in the beginning of December 08 and still have not received a da** card, however...guess what I did receive, a DA** BILL. I've tried to call all contact numbers but have not been able to get through to anyone. To top it all off the credit limit is $300 and like $250 in upfront fees...this truly got to be a joke. I will never deal with these people ever again and wait until I get done with this company, they are going to wish they never played games with me or anyone else for that matter.

Continental Finance harassing calls

My bill is up to date, i have the statements to prove it. i have never been late.. On thanksgiving morning, i got a call. Woke me up at about 8. i didnt pick up because i had no clue who it was. after about 4 or 5 more calls i finally answered. They said that they were from continental finance, and were trying to collect my "nearly due" payment. She said the payment was due on dec. 22, and asked if i would like to make a payment over the phone right now. I told her i dont give financial info over the phone, and that they would get there money before the due date. She said thank you have a nice day.

Since then i have been getting 10-20 calls per day. every day. The telemarketrs are threatening, and VERY rude. over this "nearly due" payment. They have been asked to stop. they claimed that they would take me off the list. But 20 minutes later. i got another call.

My thoughts are, I think they are harassing people, hoping that they will pay the card off and cancel. Because with the $250 worth of charges they apply before you even use the card.. They get people to cancel the card out, They just made $250 for doing absolutely nothing.

Another thing. i would always make my payemnt at the begining of the month. the due date is on the 22nd. And no matter if i pay it on the 1st of the month, the payment doesnt show up in my available balance until a week or 2 after the due date. And from what i have read they do this to everyone, And its usually the time that they take out any fees or charges, So that they can hit you with an over limit fee and all that crap.

These people are con artists of the lowest form and should be stopped. I will be contacting my attourney general on the matter. I have been recording the phone calls and will use their own tactics against them.

Continental Finance Scam!!!

I am filing a class action lawsuit against continental finance credit cards.
I double paid my bill in october because they said that they had not recieved the payment (which had already posted to my bank account).
I faxed the bank statement and was told that the charges would be reversed and my payment would be applied. Now they are saying that they have no notes on this subject so "too bad".
I have never been late on my bill.
This company is the biggest scam ever!
I am now paying the card in full and washing my hands of the entire matter.

When I had a junk continental finance credit card, they lured me in with a fake secured credit card offer and claimed they would mark off my previous debt with them that I had already paid off, yet they refused to admit I repaid. Needless to say, I sent them $5000 for a fake secured card that they mailed to the wrong address. It took 2 1/2 years to finally get the card with a maximum spend limit of $40. These liars claimed they would mark off the debt the fraudsters charged to my card that continental finance mailed to the wrong address and didn't. The liars at continental finance had the gall to think they were going to charge me $900 a week and not tell me what the fee was for. When I stopped all contact with the liars at continental finance, they sold my fake debt to a fake collection agency who sold my fake debt to thousands of other fake collection agencies all trying to collect $50, 000 up to $900, 000 each making my credit reports look like I owe trillions. I changed my name and moved on. A note about continental finance class action. Been there did that. You get very little or nothing from being in a class action against continental finance. The best thing is to find a black hat to change your name for you and then find a program that allows you create cryptocurrency on a blockchain. Why? Because paying a law firm a monthly fee to help clean up your credit reports will eventually put you on the street trying to deal with the liars at continental finance. I wasted 30 years and failed trying to fix it until I changed my name and moved on. I even changed address.

I am currently being harassed by a collection agency that which I believe is in connection with Continental Finance as I got a Surge credit card maybe between 2 to 5 years ago I don't remember; they just start calling me this week telling me about the old debt which is somehow five times higher than the original balance due according to them because of interest and non-payment- I have not received anything in the mail and they are saying they want to garnish my wages and they will not send me a statement of the so-called debt that which I believe is unlawful ; any ideas of how to rectify this ASAP?

I am currently going through the same situation right now. The VERVE card and the CREDIT ONE CARD. I even have milestone card but its in good standing. They lie! They call you up and set up automatic banking account monthly debits from your checking account. Then 6 months later they charge off your account killing your credit. I'm currently in the process of going after them legally to be a STOP to their nonsense. They seem to want to play above the law. Especially targeting people who are rebuilding their credit. They LIE! I won't stop until I get justice for myself and everyone!

This Continental Finance credit card company is a joke. I had applied for this card online and as soon as I got the card someone from continental finance called me and wanted me to pay 50.00 over the phone. They kept insisting I pay the amount. By the time I even got the card, there was almost 200.00 in fees. The customer service people there are very rude, do not be late with a payment because the fees are outrageous! They will call constantly every single day! Do Not Get This Card. they are a rip off. I wish I would have know about this card before I got it!

I applied and received this card to attempt to reestablish a bad credit rating. Upon receiving the card i tried to activate it and according to the customer service department I am unable to activate it due to transposed numbers in the phone number. When asked for a copy of the application to prove this they refused.

I want this account closed and I will be filling a report with the Police Department as well as betterbusiness.

After several attempts to give them back their card after they put charges on the account that caused it to over the credit limit, and the calls of harrassment, threats of turning me into the credit bureau, I even offered to pay the the bill down to the original $250.00 credit line and give it back to them and they refused, I am trying to find out who and where I go for help in this matter. I feel that this company is trying to get rich off of the poor people who may or may not have good credit and use them, most credit card companies do not charge such high fees, unless attached to an secured credit card, this is not such a card, and the representatives lie and mislead you into activating these cards, someone needs to stop this company and put the out bussiness. If you have any way of helping, please contact me as soon as possible.

I am having a time with Continental Finance as well. I got the card in order to help rebuild my poor credit ... I should have known better. I agreed with the terms of the service - I did think that the $250 in upfront charges was steep (actually it's ridiculous) - I have had the card for a year and have not once made a DENT in the money that I owe - despite paying $50 to $100 a month. They consistently ask for a minimum of $100 regardless of how much I have paid. If you make a payment early, it does no good. You still end up with a minimum balance due by set date.
I am having financial problems right now mainly due to my bank ( RBC Centura the worst bank other than Wells Fargo) and I simply had no money to send to Continental Finace last week. They are now calling my house 8 TIMES a DAY.
I had a similar problem a few months ago when I had to make one payment 2 days late. The next day I got 4 calls from them and then at 8 in the morning I get a call from a very rude sales representative demanding that I pay with a check by phone ( to which a $14 service charge is added that they conveniently charge to the card) - I informed her that I had already set up a payment online, and if she had my information on her computer screen she could see that a payment was scheduled. She told me that she did not have access to my information online! And STILL demanded a check by phone!
To make everything worse- they offer NO address to write to demand that they stop harassing me. All you get is a phone number, and then you must deal with someone unwilling to work with you, and usually rude .
This is a horrible company. I plan on trying to save the money to pay the card off, and then tell them exactly what they can do with their card.

Continental Finance rediculous cs & fraud

I applied for this card to establish credit. Even though they had these rediculous fees I was willing to start somewhere.

I call the number to activate the card and spoke with the CS rep. She immediately asked me for my banking information to my checking account so they can "go ahead and start reporting my credit to the credit bureau". Whatever! I told her I dont think so. I told her if I couldnt mail in my payment on the due date I dont want the card. She put me on hold and after two minutes she hung up on me. Never in my life have I ever been treated so poorly. I call the CS # on the bill and you cant speak with no one. I called the activation line back and took the option to cancel the card.

Right when you think you heard it all there is always something else out there to suprise you.

Continental Finance credit card

I received a confirmation of approval from this credit card company and when I received my card, decided I did not want to have any more credit cards at this time.I did not activate that card nor did I make any purchases.I cut the card up the moment I opened the envelope. I am being sent a bill for charges for activation and annual fees when the card was never activated.I have no way of activating the card either, as I cut it up into about a hundred pieces as soon as I received it. What course of action do I take so this will not ruin my credit?

Continental credit card was the was credit card that I ever had in my life. As the person said above I never even activated my card and they are still billing me. First of all when I applied for the credit card online I entered all of my information correctly and when I call to activate my card they customer service rep. tells me that I entered in completely different information. So supposedly they got all of my information correct and told me that I had to wait until the next morning to activate it. The next morning I call them to activate it and they tell me that they never received any calls from me from the day before (need I remind you I call called a total of three times the day before to make sure they had the correct information). Basically they were calling me a liar and I had to speak to the supervisor and yes you can already guess they were rude as hell and were literally yelling at each other and calling each other names. And there are so many other things that happened I just don't have time to write it. So if you know someone who is applying for this card PLEASE tell them not to apply.
