on november 29th i called to make a car payment..at that time i was told that my car had been placed on the repo list and i had to pay 650.00 to get it off..i paid 65.00 at that time..november 30th i called and payed 220.00 then december 2nd my sister called and paid 365.00 with her bank card...my sister asked the customer service rep if there was anything thing else owed..the rep said no..and said that she would take the car off of the list..december 3rd at 630am a tow truck picked my car up..i notified him that the delinquent amount was paid and gave him the confirmation number..he told me he still had to take it til the company called him and told him to release it..i called the company at 9am and told them my situation..the rep told me i had a zero balance and told me she would call me back..she called me back and told me i had to give them another 150.00 for closing fees..i disputed it because i wouldnt owe the fees if my car hadnt been wrongfully repossessed..i was yelled at..told to pay my bills even though i wasnt delinquent anymore..i was emailed and told i held a zero balance and told i owed the tow company for all the work they did...i never knew u could repo a car without a delinquent balance but u could repo for a closing fee..my contract states that my car will b repoed for a delinquent balance past 30days past due not closing fees for w wrongful repo

This First1Financial Corportion has the most nasty people to talk to. They are very hateful and greedy.

Even though you make a payment and even several car payment ahead, they want to add late fees to it and then place it on your credit reports!

When I talk to the main lady in charge, to get help with a lower payoff to get out of this 19% loan, she was shouting in my ear and said the pay off that was given was the balance due. Which was the total owed on the note and higher than I could afford. This vehicle has over 2, 000 miles and in bad shape. I have made many, many repairs and is just worn out! Stay away from this company!

taxilady i went to trade my car in only to find out it actually doesnt help ur credit at all because they report it to only one angency and its the agency no banks or major car dealerships look at..the salesman told me..hey i dont see a car anywhere on ur credit history..at that time i was furious..i felt duped..i called first 1 the lady yelled at me and told me they report it to i think experian..the salesman laughed and said nobody looks at experian..the rep heard heard the salesman tell me that..she began to yell and scream and told me i shouldv researched that before i bought the car...every since then i took em off my bank scheduled pay..and ive been paying em when i want...i was behind 650 only because i wanted them to see how it felt to be decieved..i paid the 650 i owed and was told i was cool and didnt owe a thing only to watch my car get repoed 22 hours later..i will be suing them asap

i had been in a car accident and couldnt work..i was paying them wat i could til i got back to work..i was two months behind..as we can see it wasnt a struggle my family will help like they did..my thing is by law u cant repo a car with a zero balance..that 650 i owed was late fees also..from all year..i had been off work since april of this year...i got behind in october...my car is due to be paid off in 6mos..do u actually think imma give my car back and i woe like 2800..when i asked my pay off cuz i jus got my car accident settlement..i was told i had to ask permission...wtf...they are frauds and have thousands of complaints on them..if i did end up on the repo show that would be a even bigger lawsuit because it was a wrongful; repossession

this isnt my first car note...i know how this works...ive spoken with two lawyers and even went to school and looked up torts and lawsuits that are similar to mines..u can not repo a car that is no longer delinquent which at the time of my repo i hadnt been delinquent for a whole day..nuf said i will have my day in court i want others to be aware of this company..they say they r here to help ur credit when they report ur payments to a credit agency that no one looks at..thats why this year i started paying late because it wsnt actually helping my credit at all..they are some liars and when u catch them in their lies they yell at u and hang up on u and then anybody that u talk to after that yells at u too

gkenigmatic...correct..she told my sister that she would be taking it off the list..which isnt my fault that she didnt..the tow guy even said they hadnt called them yet...we paid at 857am on the 2nd...they repoed my car at 637am almost a day later...they close at 7pm monday thru friday...they had 10 whole hours to call and take my car off the list..and whose fault is that..not mines..thats their job regardless if i had a balance..at the end of the day i paid wat i was to pay..and 22 hours later they came and repoed my car when i had a zero balance and by law u cant do that at all

im not blaming the repo company im blaming first 1 bank..they didnt do their job and call the repo company to advise them of my payment..the repo company was pissed because they said even though the repo was jus because they was backed by a order...it was injust being that i actaul paid 22 hours prior to the repo

it was damn near a day later..i paid at 857am on the second..my car was repoed 630am on the third..thats wat over 22 hours later..the company closes at 7pm...she had ten hours to release my car off the list...how i take it is...they were responsible for the 150...the only way they could pin the 150 on me was to still repo my car..that way they can charge me that so that they dont have to pay it...the only problem is...they shouldv repoed it before i paid the balance off..once i paid that balance..my car wasnt to b touched...i missed work..and school because of this wrongful repo..and theyre going to pay for it flatout

I have tryed for over a year to get this hateful Company (First 1 Financial) to give me a decent pay-off for the mini van that was under a contract in a 19% interest rate. It was a weekly payment plan. If the payment was not made on Monday, they started adding late fees that added up to $50 by the end of the week, then the phone calls every day to get you to pay, sometimes twice. The customer service reps never announced their name, I always had to ask.
They will only report your credit payment to one reporting agency, not all three. Finally, I had my balance down to a point I could pay cash and when I went to get the totaly balance they had tacked on another late fee from the original balance that was announced on the on the phone line that gave you a figure. I talked with the manager SUSAN and reqested to take that late fee off and they would have the full balance paid in 1 hour. They refused to do so. So, now I am going to show all kinds of late fees that was not over 30 days old and my credit is only going to refect on one credit report. (The one that creditors never pull????!!) Don't ever use this awful Company.

I am sorry for all the post on here where First 1 Financial repo your car! My vehicle was for business and I finanially had to just get it paid off but not with out a great deal of cost. They will not work with you, over charge with tons of late fees and their attitude is awful when you call to talk to any of them especiall "SUSAN" the manager. The owners name is also "SUSAN". They don't report to the agencys that people pull your records the most. I hope more people will post every where on the internet about this awful company.

Tiffiany, I am so sorry for what you went through. I now have paid them every penny I owed, they were charging me an extra $50.00 if the payment was not made on Mondays, which some times I did not have enough to pay them. You need to make a complaint to the BBB and to the Attorney Generals office in that State. I already did and they are looking for more people to turn this company in for all the bad things they are doing to people. My old broken down van is sitting in my driveway. Still needs repairs I can not afford and no one wants to buy it because it is so old and has so much milage on it. It has been four weeks now since I have paid it off and I am still waiting for the release of the title. Lets see how long it takes to get that done. Good luck on your law suite, I hope you win. I wish we could find some cause to get a class action started against this company.

To: Stealth Pilot ... I have already paid the vehicle off, every pennie. I am now waiting to for the release of the title from this company! They told me 4 to 6 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks and I have not heard any thing from them. So, I will give it a few more weeks.

Most contracts (small-print) we sign casually, are harmless, until things go wrong.
Truth is: Most people do not read contracts, fewer even understand them. If this all were so simple, we would not need to argue these cases in court. Actually very few ever get resolved in court because the dispute is far from simple. Whenever someone else has your money... you lose in case of an argument.

And you never ever did regret a contract you signed?
Actually I do read the contracts before I sign them.
Try to claim home owners insurance after a hurricane.
According to your simplistic world view, we read the contracts and when we agree with them we sign and everything is dandy?
Not so, it is called "interpretation". This is the point when lawyers and the court get involved.
Fortunately there is a federal law which (more eloquent than I can describe it) says: "You cannot sign your rights away".
Fact is, most cases never get to court... they cannot... we would need a legal system many times that large.
The solution is regulation, which unfortunately is a dirty word in this country.
And you are right that vigilance (almost paranoia) is the best defense.
And 99% of the contracts I signed turned out exactly as I envisioned. The others are listed on this web-site.
