Firestone Complete Auto Care they will never see another dime out of me nor will they ever come within 10 feet of one of my vehicles for as long as I shall live

Here is a good one! I went to Firestone about a year ago and had some Bridgestone tires installed on my work van. The cashier mentioned that my Transmission fluid should be replaced and recommended a flush as well as the replacement of a pully tensioner/serpentine belt. I made the appointment and paid the $850 for the tires. I returned a week later for the other work which was to take about 1.5 hours. After 2.5 hours the manager came to me and said "there has been a problem". It turns out, the hose they attached to flush the tranny had not been fastened correctly and came off flooding the garage floor with fluid. He then said "the work will take a little longer". I drove away three and a half hours later. My van had under 70K miles on it and 30 days later the transmission went out to the tune of $3600. Was it a result of them pumping all the fluid out of my transmission onto their floor? Who knows! My van is a 1 ton and should not have transmission issues at under 70k miles. To top it all off, when I got home I smelled burning oil when I got out of the vehicle. Upon opening the hood, I was shocked to see red transmission fluid sprayed over the entire engine compartment. They made no effort to clean anything but their floor. I was so mad, I went down the next day and demanded that it be cleaned. They sent my van to a steam cleaner who blasted the engine compartment. Both tranny oil and water are not good on electrical engine components, but what can I say or do! Now for the serpentine belt! It turns out, they use the absolute cheapest crap belts available because it started squealing like a pig for 20 minutes every morning until the cheap rubber material warmed up from the engine heat. This embarrased me at every intersection. The belts they use are simply garbage. I put a Goodyear Gatorback belt on myself and solved the problem immediately. Through it all, I was too afraid to take my van back to them in fear that they would foul something else costing me more. I highly recommend finding a reputable mechanic to work on your auto before you take it to Firestone Complete Auto Care . They will never see another dime out of me nor will they ever come within 10 feet of one of my vehicles for as long as I shall live.

Potenza, When you spend all of that money opening your doors every month, you should take a look at a sign that should be right above your door that states the first rule of business, and that is that "the customer is always right". You seem to have lost sight of that or perhaps you don't believe it in the first place! You complain about the cost of disposal and turn around and sell used tires that you've charged disposal fees on and rake in more ill gotten gains! Is there no end to your greed? When you have your $9 breakfast, do you even bother to leave a tip? No more than $1 I'll bet! What the heck, your first customer of the day will pick up the tab with an unearned shop charge! You seem to have an inordinate amount of time on your hands to continue to respond to me with your ineffectual arguments. Perhaps it's due to business being slow, Gee I wonder why? Could it be complete indifference to your customer's needs? People do see through that sort of attitude and respond by staying away from your place of business. I on the other hand being both retired and disabled, find some comfort and solace in exposing the likes of you and other unscrupulous business types. This is what I choose to use my time for, trying to do something for the greater good of the community! If you lived in my neighborhood, your phone service would be improved due to my donation of a piece of my property to the phone company at their request. I agreed because it was for the greater good of the people! You no doubt would have insisted on an exorbitant price for the same piece of land because you feel the phone company could easily afford it or they could raise their rates to cover it. So go ahead and keep trying to defend a position that is untenable, more solace and comfort for me! Whatever you want to call it, it seems to be working!

I took my car into for a oil and lube, and front end alignment. I got a call while they were servicing it. I need a new tensioner, and both belts. Initially I told them that needed to come see the work before I could authorize it. But as the day wore on, I called back and said I want all old parts. When I go in to pick up my car, the representative, shows me a cut belt with some wear an just beginning to show small cracks, the other belt is uncut, and still looks almost brand new as he tries to convince me that it was worn, I still have that belt. Then he gets to the tensioner, lmao, he starts wiggling and wobbling round and round and nothing he can show me, in frustration he finally says well I have to put it in a vice to show you. The audacity of the people. They think we (the customers) are that stupid that we bite into that crap.

Don't go the the Firestone on SM Parkway they screwed my 16 year old son around. Then when I called them on it the owner out right lied. I took the car to 2 other mechanics and they both verified that Firestone was WRONG. ALSO, I called another Firestone after I was told they'd sell me a tire at cost and the tire was nearly 50% below the quoted price of SM Parkway tire..which was suppose to be at COST.

Brought my son's 1991 Ford Taurus in to get it ready for a long trip. Needed to be winterized and the windshield wiper cleaner fixed. You told my wife it needed a new Master Cylinder among other things and she spent $800 and then you listed another $950 that you said it needed. So I had her take it to another place...they charged us $350 to fix what was actually needed and told us that the Power Booster you installed and that we probably didn't need, wasn't even hooked up. You fixed the windshield wiper sprayer only on the passenger side which he discovered in a snowstorm half way across the country.

Took my car in for a safety inspection. At the completion was told that I needed 2 new wipers which they replaced without asking me. This despite the fact that I had put a brand new wiper on the car that morning. When I asked to see the wipers they replaced the service manager removed the charge but showed no embarrassment.

Lost brakes on our Acura, brought the car across the street to a Firestone location in Charlotte NC..they told us it ws the ABS and that they needed to be replaced..and also had to replace the brake pads..total cost about $2, 000..and they would not use the brake pads we already purchased saying warranty would not cover it..Took the car down the road for a second opinion at a family owned shop...turns out the Cylinder needs to be replaced. they will do that and the brake pads for $400...Clearly by all the complaints, Firestone is deliberatly finding ways to rip people off..be warned!

Every time I bring my car into a firestone, they break something. two differen locations two different cars and both oil change== well looks like you are going to need a new starter. also I had a power sterring hose installed and they intstalled it wrong costing me a new pump lost work time...etc

I think they break things while doing a simple oil change to make additional cash. I have real beef with these kind of outfits they are complete ###.

I now realize just never to go to firestone again, I think there should be an invesigation into their work ehtics.

Comment to potenza, if you call getting $32 for doing absolutely nothing trying to make a living, you've got a great racket there! You did not interpret my complaint correctly. You'll note I mentioned I was disabled in the service of your country and wheel chair bound and unable to mount two of my own tires using a lug wrench and elbow grease. I mentioned that I'm a senior on food stamps with nothing other than $800 monthly from the government to live on. It is my feeling that disabled senior veterans should receive some special considerations from ALL companies including Firestone!

You don't need to hit a home run on every deal guys, loosen up and share the wealth!

My Mother, a senior citizen went to firestone for a oil change 29.99 and when she checked out her bill was 224.99 thank goodness I review her bills when I saw it I looked it over and they somehow convinced her she needed a 140.00 wheel alignment warranty. she has a new car.. the rest of the money was they balanced her tires none of which she asked for. My mother doesnt even know what a wheel alignment is. I demanded the return the money and they said she was aware, but to this day she still doenst know. the took advantage of her age and knowledge, I did get the money back for her warranty but not the other things she had done that she didnt ask for. dont go to firestone for just a oil change without looking over everything..

Firestone Complete Auto Care disgusting crooks

Firestone Complete Auto Care is a HORRIBLE company! Tried to charge me (a college student) over $600 for a $50-$75 problem. They said I needed a new battery and alternator and pricing was $620.

Took it down to $450 after complaining, which tells you they scam customers from the start. Come to find out after bringing my car elsewhere to test the alternator, that it is FINE and doesn't need to be replaced!

I will NEVER trust my car to this company! I HIGHLY suggest to anyone not to leave your car in the hands of these crooks!

Firestone Complete Auto Care this credit card company has charged me late fee claiming my payment reached them 1 day late

I have never pay my bills late... since last month, this credit card company has charged me late fee claiming my payment reached them 1 day late. i use online payment with my bank for all my payments and never had a issue... according to my bank records, they paid on time, they even gave me the time that the payment reached CFNA. but CFNA still claims that it was late, i don't know base on what? they are penalizing consumers for the time it takes for them to process the payment even if the payment reached them on due date. this is the 2nd time it happened and now they refused to reverse the incorrect charge even though the problem is not with me. i cancelled this card so they will not do this to me again...their customer service is HORRIBLE!

Firestone Complete Auto Care stay away from them

Funny ad but it felt like a Honda ad and was too much of a take on a movie. Not sure that anyone that sees this ad in a SuperBowl environment remembers that it is a Bridgestone tire ad.

Firestone Complete Auto Care stay away from these lying scam artists

I went into the Mall of Georgia location when I noticed 2 of my tires were falling apart from the inside. This was very dangerous and that location was the closest tires shop. They did not have the size tires I needed in stock and I needed tires before I could drive anywhere. They located some tires they could get the next day but told me they were "junk" but for double the price I could get some others they could also get the next day. I wasn't excited to get "bad tires" so I called my brother in law who is a Master Tech for a large auto company, he found me 4 very good tires. I called Firestone to ask if they would put on the tires if I brought them in, they said yes. I was late and still could not get them on same day. I left the truck overnight and they were to put the tires on first thing in the am. I received a call in the am stating the "district office called them and told them it was against company policy to put my tires on because I did not purchase them there". THIS was a blatant LIE, because I called 3 other locations in my areas and all were MORE than willing to put them on for me. I feel this manger was a bully and he wanted to send me driving off on extremly dangerous tires to "show me" that I should have bought the tires he was PUSHING on me. And we all must ask ourselves, why would this company sell anything that it's managers deem "JUNK". This is our safety riding on these tires and they OPENLY express they sell junk? DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION< if you are in this area I would suggest the Snellville location when I called there the manager was kind, gracious and truly wanted to help. In the end I found out the reason they tried to get out of putting tires on... they had already damaged my rims and hoped to get me out of there and somewhere else before it was noticed... I have rims that I paid $3500 for and I know they were not damaged when the vehicle was dropped off. Police called to verify my rims had "fresh" damage, but Joe, the lying manager at this location continued to blame me. Stay away from these lying scam artists. Go anywhere else you will have better luck.

Firestone Complete Auto Care unneeded replacement parts

I brought my 2001 Nissan maxima into Firestone for an oil change and for them to see why my car was running rough. After my car was in the shop for almost 4 hours, they called and said I needed all new spark plugs( at 29.99 EACH), 6 ignition coils, and a mass air flow censor, totaling $1800 for parts and labor. I told them that I would like to take my car somewhere else for a second opinion. When I brought my car to another shop, the mechanic at this shop informed me that I just needed one ignition coil replaced for a total of $150 including labor. I had the other shop fix my car, and they informed me that Firestone had added 3.5 quarts more than needed into my car, he suspected that they didnt even drain the old oil, they just added more. I will never take my car to them even for a simple oil change, and anyone who reads this should do the same unless you feel like throwing all your money out the window.

Took my car to firestone on Chestnut street in new britain, ct to have my summer tires mounted and balanced and my snow tires removed.

First they overtorqued my wheels to the point I had to go back to them to have them loosened. (i'll get back to that in a min)

The best part is they told me that I needed front and rear brakes and of course, I was in luck..they could do it for me! HA...I think not.

I took the car back and right away noticed the brakes felt like mush. This was NOT the case when i brought it in to them. I ordered new brake pads front and rear and went to go do the swap when I couldn't get the damn lug nuts to budge b/c they overtorqued them. I went back to them and had them loosened, then back home to pull the wheels and get to work. It was at this time that I realized they were full of crap when they said my fronts were 90% worn and the rears 85%. The fronts had at LEAST 50% left and the rears were at 70-80% left. At this point I had already greased the backings of the new pads so I couldn't return them, so on they went. Rest assured I will be calling the manager tomorrow, demanding a full refund AND reporting them to the BBB. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they screwed me. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! They will rip you off! The pic posted is the new pads on top of the ones i pulled from the car. The bottom pads were supposedly 85% worn!

i took my car in for an oil change, @ firestone in blue springs MO. And as always they found plenty wrong with my car the tierod they said on the left side was loose and that I needed 3 tires, and on the estimate was a lifetime alignment package, I told them that I had a mechanic and would look into what they were saying. Now heres the kicker, my ac whitch has worked fine for 9 years now blows only warm air these thieves have to create work I guess. It amazes me that they get away with this kind of crap. Im going to try to meet one on one with the district manager what do you wanna bet he wont meet with me?

Firestone Complete Auto Care I will never go to firestone again, that was a huge turn off for me

First time at Firestone . My godparents have a credit there. They wanted to give me birthday gift to get me new tires for my new car. Strike 1, there prices are way too expensive! I have one of the smallest tires. (93 toyota camry) Strike 2, horrible customer service no hi, hello, or be with you in a moment... Strike 3, they suck at time management they should'nt accept walk-ins if they have an attitude, and are rushung because they were closing in an hour. But i needed new tires to travel later that night. Strike 4, i drove to concord later that night, got to concord, as soon as i park my tire goes flat and is balled around my hub cap! This is the same tire i got done 4 hours ago that day! My godparents were pissed because I took a picture and showed them i could have got into a bad car accident that night! Strike 5, came to firestone with my car on a spare, showed them a picture they totally tried to ignore me and deny the situation! Finally they gave me a new tire for free with an attitude. I will never go to firestone again that was a huge turn off for me.

Yes, you should do that. I think they did something bad to my car. I took it in on March 28, 2010 . My car is relatively new. I never had any noise backing up. After they did my wheel alignment and brake pads, those horrible noise appears. Please tell me how dirty they are?

Firestone Complete Auto Care bad service/treatment

I have gone to Firestone for years and not had a problem. I had my oil changed, oil pressure regulator replaced and a sensor. My oil light had not been working. I fixed alot to the tune of $800 and 3 months later my car engine froze up on the freeway. I had a 3rd pary dealership look at the car.. the "engine people".. they said there was no oil in the car, the oil light never went on.. so thats why the engine seized. I called the number given to me when I spoke with Firestone and was told that since it was A WEEK over the 3 month warranty for an oil change, they werent at fault. When I said no.. you fixed an oil pressure regulating valve and a sensor as well.. and told me my oil light issue was fixed, whats the warranty on that? A representative of Firestone went to the dealership and "took a look".. on visual inspection he could find no reason why the oil was gone from my car. Therefore they told me they were not at fault.. and if I wanted to pursue the issue I had to have the engine torn apart and pay out of my own pocket to discover why this happened, but they were done with it and not at fault. With NO explanation why my oil was totally gone. WOW.. what do I do now?

Firestone Complete Auto Care manager

Hi im a customer at the florida pinellas county firestone on 49th street and i had a big concern about the manager working their because i saw this info in the newspaper i reported it to the district office and i dont think anything have been done because when i went back to get my car service he was still their. . Is this the type of person you all have representing your company? A manager thats suppose to be handling his self in better ways than that. . I dont really want to take my vehicles back their because im concern of where my money is goin? Or is it the company money going elsewhere. Who knows what he is doing is that good ethic's ? Well im hope every thing is taken care of now that im forwarding this message to the corprate office. . Thank your very much hope to here if something is going to be done about this behavior.

Mileage on my Prius has never been below 50 MPG in 45, 000-plus miles of driving. Has nosedived to 43 MGP since having Firestone Champion Hr tires installed. The Hr must stand for huge reduction these are the worst tires I have ever owned. Lousy wet-road traction to boot. Stay away from these dogs.

Bought a set of Firestone Destination LE tires partially because of their $75.00 gift card rebate. They have been fairly good tires even though I had to return one for a factory defect in the sidewall. The problem is it's been a couple of months and no gift card. To file a claim I need some numbers from the original claim form. Guess where that is. Firestone has it.

I took my 2000 Dodge Intrepid to Firestone on February 24, 2009 to get my oil changed. Firestone noted only the oil plug be replaced, which I did and there was a brake light out. Nothing else was noted. After leaving Firestone my car started shaking and the engine light came on. I returned the car to Firestone on February 25, 2009 the next day and was told I needed a major tune up. I then contacted my mechanic and he came out to my house and looked over the engine. What he informed me is there was a thrown rod in the motor and the motor will need rebuilt or replaced. He did tell me there was a firing engine that needed replaced but will not take care of the thrown rod. I did replace the spark plug and the firing engine. This did make the check engine light go off. What he believed was Firestone started the car with no oil in the motor. He also explained he has seen this happen many times before. I then contacted the store manager on the phone and explained. He informed me there is nothing he nor the store can do to help me. I then filed a claim with the small claims court. I appeared in court on April 2, 2009. I'm now awaiting for the judge to decide the outcome. What the judge explained to Firestone is if the engine was in that bad of shape, they (Firestone) would have let me know there was a major engine problem.

numerous complaints about service . this year i had my car towed in because it would not start . a 91 volvo i wanted them to put in a fuel presssure regulator and change the spark plugs . they refused ! because it had an oil leak . aren't they a repair center they never saw an oil leak before ! last year i brought it in for inspection they failed it because of emissions ... it is a 1991 volvo driven less than 4, 000 miles per year . there are numerous exemptions both because of age and mileage that exempts my car from emissions... THESE PEOPLE KNOW nothing and are rude and arrogant... extremely bad and ill informed, unknowledgeable service.

Firestone Championship HR's are very noisy. If you prefer not to hear the road like you're driving a car with mud tires, stay away. The hum is almost unbearable. They're cheap, but you can find better alternatives at the same price range.

The Firestone Champion HR tires are the worst tires I have ever had. Both rear tires blew out on me, and the front passenger side got a huge bubble in it. This was all in a year and half's time. They told me the same "you tire was flat and it compromised the sidewall" story. However my tire was never flat or below 30psi. Very brittle, fragile, horrible tires.

hartmandesign, your Prius came with Low Rolling Resistance tires (LRR) as oem. You purchased the Champion HR tires, which are a performance all season tire, which is not designed with MPG in mind. The fact that you cannot fathom why you've lost MPG reinforces the stereotype of the typical arrogant know nothing Prius driver.

Firestone Complete Auto Care unethical behavior

I bought 4 Primewell Tires 7 days ago and after 5 days of driving on them one went flat. Brought tire back to Firestone, they said that I must have hit a curb, I did not hit any curbs or potholes, there were no marks on the tire. Firestone of Hamden, CT would not give me a new tire. Will never again service my 3 family cars at Firestone. They are a complete rip off. Their Managers of their stores are only after there SALES Bonuses, meaning that the public gets ripped off.

The tread separation issue Firestones had was actually determined to be Ford's fault, not Firestone, because Ford specified a tire pressure that was far too low, causing the tires the heat up too much and blow out. In any case, tire warranties do not, in themselves, cover flats or road hazards, and often times companies will sell a separate warranty that DOES cover these issues. If you purchased tires and are having a flat problem, double check your receipt to make sure you purchased road hazard coverage. Otherwise, it may be hard to prove whether or not the tire was installed incorrectly and caused a leak.

I bought Fuzion HRi XL tires for my 2500 lb Honda Fit 8/2008 at approximately 48000 miles on the OEM. On 7/2010 I had a low speed blowout, luckily. Just like the Firestone's of old it was good old tread separation (according to Tirerack the tires were made in 2008). Thinking this a fluke or road hazard I threw the tire away, heck!
In Nov. of this year(2010) I noticed one of the front tires had the beginning of tread separation on the sidewalls. The only tire that was not effected is the tire I bought 7/2010. All of the tires bought in 2008 have varying degrees of what I call Firestone Tread Separation. One Firestone dealership I went to said that since he didn't sell these tires then he would not warranty them. Corporate in Chicago is only going with 'pro-rated' and the online store wants me to send the three tires to them @ approximately $35.00 a tire postage.
Really seems like they don't really care and the first thing out of their mouths is that it 'must be you or the fault of the car'...

Firestone Complete Auto Care ethics and overcharging

My son-in-law and I worked on his Nissan Frontier, putting on a new alternator and battery that we purchased from Checker Auto. Everything worked great for about a week, when the same symptoms re-appeared, (dead battery & guages going haywire). After taking the alternator and battery back off and taking them to Checker for testing, Checker says their parts are fine (wrong).
So now, since Checker denies bad parts, we take the truck to Firestone, believing that professional diagnostics is needed to trace down a grounding problem or something else.
Firestone calls back an hour later and tells my daughter, "You have a bad cell in the battery, and you need a new alternator." My daughter tells the guy that both of these parts were still under warranty at Checkers, being that we just bought them last week.
The mechanic then says, "Well, we do a lot of business with Checkers, and I know the guys at the store you went to, so I'll just get those exchanged for you. Having said that, my daughter authorizes the repairs, thinking they'll simply exchange the parts and charge us the labor for replacement.
When we go to pick up the vehicle, they hand us a "Checker" alternator box, with our "new - bad one" in it and tell us we'll have to take that one back to Checkers for a refund. That alternator was $149.00, but Firestone put the identical alternator from Checkers back on the vehicle and charged $258.00, then gave us the empty box from the new one, to put our "new - bad one" in to take back to Checkers.
I believe this to be unethical, because we had "free replacement parts" available to us through the warranty with Checkers. Firestone couldn't rest on the fact that they would only make money for labor, so they took it upon themselves to cancel the benefits we had with Checker. Sure, we got our money back from Checker on the parts we bought a week ago, but then Firestone over-charged $100.00 on the identical Checker alternator and $50.00 on the identical Checker battery.
Firestone's weak explanation to this was "The computer adds the parts markup and we can't override any charges, then he says and besides, your daughter authorized the repairs".
When I told him that she authorized the repairs because your mechanic said he knew the guys at Checker and would exchange the parts, he said that's not how we do business and that mechanic really is not authorized to do that.

That's great! Confusion abounds! Ten guys at Firestone can say anything over the phone to get you to commit to authorizing repairs, but none of them are accountable for what they say to get you to commit. So really, there is only ONE party responsible for their committments...the consumer! And after being a long-time Firestone customer for tires and maintanence, this consumer will not be using them any longer!
Wait, let me rephrase that using Firestone tactics...
"Whenever any of my vehicles has a problem in the future, I'm coming directly to you and Firestone because you have award winning ethics and great customer service and I know you care about me...that's my committment to you!"

Don't worry Firestone, common people with average intelligence love having lies told to them by arrogant mechanics that hide behind a franchise tag name! That's what makes it great...no one person is ever responsible for making things right, not Firestone- because they'll tell you that was a franchise shop and they're independant...and not the local shop- because they just say they're doing things like Corporate wants us to and that they have no control over policies.

It is my best guess that Firestone mechanics are not hired based on their mechanical prowness, but rather their ability to cram 2 lbs. of crap into a 1 lb. box! It seems all of their "I'm authorized for repair/Not authorized for complaint" mechanics possess that honed skill. The side-stepping and elusive loophole tactics used in their business leaves no doubt as to why no-one trusts anyone in the car repair business. Is there an organizational problem flow-chart of excuses Firestone gives to employees to weasle out of quality car repairs they've been paid a lot of money for?

On my personal truck, a Ford Ranger, I had Firestone do a "lifetime" front end alignment right after getting a new set of Firestone tires. The drivers side tire was leaning (camber) more than I thought it should after the alignment, just by looking from the front of the truck and comparing it to the passenger side tire, but the arrogant tech says, "I've been a tire guy for 15 years and you can't just look at a tire and say it's out of camber". So, even though I was dissatisfied, they wouldn't do anything else with it. So I brought the truck back 3, 000 miles later to get the tires rotated and we both SEE uneven wear, isolated on the inside of the drivers side front. He still argued with me that camber wasn't a problem, we just needed to rotate the tires. I said "If only one tire is worn on the inside, putting a freshly rotated tire in that position will only wear that one out on the inside too, right?" This is where his demeanor changed and he started packing the boxes full of crap. He became angry and I was given ANY possiblity other than the camber being adjusted. Naturally, to check all the things he suggested being wrong with it was going to cost me $400-$500 to check. Even when you know your right and the physical properties of your problem is manifested in front of your own two eyes, they resort to humiliating you because your not a mechanic and as a last resort, they turn to anger. This is a great ploy too, because now they have made it so you can't be on professional terms with the people whom you've paid to fix a problem you still have. They've stated their position and aren't going to do anything else. So now with your back up against the wall, you feel like your only option is to have to go pay someone else to fix the same problem you've already paid to have fixed. This is a great operational technique...have people pay you to fix a problem, don't fix the problem...make the customer mad by saying he doesn't have a problem...customer goes somewhere else to get problem fixed...you made money for nothing!

Firestone, if your listening...
Profits seem to be your only concern...but HAPPY "new & repeat" customers BRING YOU THAT PROFIT! If no-one wants to do business with you after being taken advantage of, you'll only get "new" business, which over time, will diminish too when the word gets around from us "experienced" consumers, telling "nonexperienced" consumers where NOT to take their car to get fixed.!

Firestone Complete Auto Care does not report credit limits

I strongly suggest that anybody who wants to improve their credit score NOT get a CFNA credit card. I know they are the credit company who provides cards for Firestone and Plaza Tire Service. I would guess there are other companies as well. Before applying for a card please make sure you ask if it is CFNA.

The problem is this -- they do not report credit limits to the bureaus. They report your current balance to all three bureaus, but report no limit. An essential part of raising your credit score is having a favorable debt to credit ratio. This ranges anywhere from 20%-35% depending on who you ask. If you have a $1 balance on a CFNA card, your debt to credit ratio on that account is infinitely negative because you're debt is $1 and your credit limit is unreported (which is considered ZERO by the bureaus).

I sent a few letters to their customer service department, and their responses were abysmal. I paid off the card just now, and will be canceling it as soon as the payment goes through. I see no reason in keeping a card that I can't use. My credit limit is $1200 and my balance is $159 but since they don't report a limit my overall debt to credit ratio is 75%. My only other credit card has a $200 limit so it's showing my overall debt as $159 and my overall available credit as $200. It should be $159 versus $1400 which would be about 11%. CFNA refuses to do anything about it since they are "not required by law to report credit limits". So much for customer service. I'm glad I paid it off before they got any of my money.

I'm going to try to spread the word as best I can that this is a horrible practice and extremely bad customer service. I opened this account hoping to increase my credit score, and it has dropped it by over 20 pounds will all three bureaus. I've spent a couple years trying to raise my scores and this just set me back a good six months. The inquiry alone will haunt me for two years.

Firestone Complete Auto Care unethical/scam

I went into the Mall of Georgia location when I noticed 2 of my tires were falling appart from the inside. I recieved a call in the am stating the "district office called them and told them it was against company policy to put my tires on because I did not purchase them there". This is our safety riding on these tires and they OPENLY experess they sell junk? DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION< if you are in this area I would suggest the Snellville location when I called there the manager was kind, gracious and trully wanted to help.

After over 2000 dollars worth of work less than a year before done at this Firestone, I took my 2002 Ford in for the yearly inspection on March 22, 2019 There was no indication of brake problems but they said all 4 needed replacing. Over 500 dollars)I am a widow so I trusted them. Manager said I could drive the car home park it, bring it back when I could get it fixed. That is why I was in the car. Backing out, the brake gave, my foot slipped off, I hit the accelerator and crashed into their building. Instead of a 30 some dollar inspection, I got a citation, my car was deemed totaled because insurance wouldn't pay enough on an old car. I lost hundreds on rental cars. I filed a claim with Firestone.which was denied because the manager lied, saying I was told the car was unsafe to drive but I took it anyway. No one would be that stupid and I do not lie I was in the car because he said I could drive it home. I lost my car, hundreds of dollars, my independence plus the emotional trauma of all this. I had a perfect driving record, I live on a fixed income and I do not lie. Why can't I get some reimbursement from Firestone because I am suffering because of a lie. I know the manager lied for fear of losing his job. I don't want that, I just want to get a decent used car This has been a nightmare. Social care is now ignoring me. Can someone stand up and do the right thing. Claim number 2355933

After DESTROYING my $3500 rims while replacing my tires, Firestone contacted me (only because I complained to the BBB) they set up what they called an "independent" to come view the damage to my wheels. This "independent" adjuster who is paid by Firestone didn't even come to me, he said it was raining too badly. I explained that I was working in Cobb county that day (where he lived) and he conceded and was willing to meet me near his house. He viewed my rims (after my driving 100 miles) and he did this is the pouring rain. According to "Firestone" he sent a report stating my damage was all curb damage, it didn't look fresh as there was "mud on my wheels", I mean really? Of course there was! I had an independent adjuster and a wheel shop (2)separate people look at the damage and they say it is IMPOSSIBLE this is curb damage, it is consistant with a pry bar that would be used to remove my tires from my rims, only that is supposed to be done from the INSIDE of the wheel not the outside where the rim is. A curb could not damage my rim in the places they were damaged even if one ran directly into a curb. So Firestone once again is using deception to get out of their responsibility to do their job properly without causing damage to the customers property. I think this deception is AGGREGIOUS in nature as it clearly shows they have no integrity and their actions border "criminal". After all it would be a CRIME if my neighbor did this to my vehicle, why isn't it a crime when a business who charges you money for a service damages your property and denies responsibility?

Firestone Complete Auto Care brakes

I have brought my van in three times to them,
First time : i said brakes dont feel good and are making noise, they told me it need brakes they did a rear brake service and shoes, they said it was overloaded and this was in October 2009, cost me $729.16

Second time was Nov 2009 same companit but I took all the weight out of the van as they told me that was the cause, even though i have three other vans setup the same exact way and do not have this issue, and they are driven by employees not myself. anyway they went on to say the second time was the front brakes, well i said ok and i was charge $653.45.

Now it is January 2010 and not even 3, 000 miles later and the same exact thing is hapeening again, they just told me i need front and back brakes again, $822.06, and they went on to say it is weight, and i told them i personally took all the weight out and this truck is not beat on it is mine and i am the owner, and as I said i have employees that drive and we dont go throught brakes like this, they usally last 1..5years at least,

These guys must have a number of around 600.00-800.00 everytime you go in, they are a ripp off and Firestone should do something about it .

Firestone Complete Auto Care complete rip off

Firestone is a complete ripoff. My 83 year old mom went there for a tuneup and came out with a 2400.00 bill on a credit card she didn't know sh was getting. She thought it was a loan, they told her she could make small monthly payments. They didn't tell her it was at 23% interest. Her car only has 71, 000 miles on it, they replaced the struts, shocks, brakes and a lot more. Attonery General investigators have contacted us regarding our complaint. We hope they stop them from ripping people off.

Shrimpozi, This is not Firestone, but the automotive industry i general. Firestone follows MAP (Motorist Assurance Program) which is the highest automotive regulation company in the world. All recommendations are based on MAP guidelines or recommendations from the vehicle's manufacturer. Another way to look at it in my opinion is what if Firestone did not recommend the things they do, how would you feel when an issue did occur that left you straned and no one had informed you of that potential issue? As you can tell I'm a store manager for Firestone and we see both sides of it. Firestone trains their employees and especially management staff to take care of the customer regardless of the issue. If the shocks did not fix your problem as they stated it would then you should've been reimbursed immediately for that repair. Firestone has an outstanding customer satisfaction system and I can assure you if you inform someone at their district office you would not be paying for shocks.

I think Firestone follows a business plan that exploits people's lack of automotive repair knowledge and encourages their employees to push people in to unneeded repairs. I recently took my vehicle in for them to investigate a rattle in the suspension. I was told I needed new shocks & a sway bar. The employee told me that the shocks were on sale & that should take care of the rattle-it did not resolve the problem. From dealing with them for several years I get the feeling that corporate Firestone pushes the employees to boost profits by making laundry lists of repairs that may or may not be needed. I do not trust them & I dont do business with businesses that I do not trust.

Firestone Complete Auto Care major overcharge

Four Spark Plugs
Four Spark Plug Wires
Fuel Injector Cleaner
$381.90

That's right, $381.90 was charged to change 4 spark plugs, 4 spark plug wires, and to add fuel injector cleaner by Firestone.

Yesterday, December 9, 2009, my fiancee brought her Hyundai Elantra to the Firestone Complete Auto Care in Covington, KY, because her engine was running rough. She's been a regular customer of theirs for 10 years and they had taken advantage of her in the past. But, yesterday, they put the computer analyzer machine on her car, then determined the problem.

They charged $21.99 for "Vehicle Inspection", minus a "discount" of $1.10. Then they charged her $79.99 for "Computerized Engine Analysis". Spark plugs (4) $5.99 each, $23.96 total. Ignition wires, $89.90. Labor - spark plugs $42.50. Labor - ignition wires $42.50, minus $5.69 and minus $4.25 (special discount).

Then "Ever-Wear Fuel System Maintenance", $39.99 (fuel injector cleaner) and "Fuel System Service Labor", $55.00, minus $8.42 and minus $11.58.

Total parts - $139.74
Total labor - $221.05
Supplies - $12.01
Tax - $9.10

Total $381.90

When my fiancee came home last night, she wasn't happy and I asked her what happened. She handed me the invoice, # 079012, and after I looked at it for several minutes, I called their "Customer Retention" toll-free number, [protected], and spoke with a young lady, Maricel, who is in Canada. I gave her all of the information. She attempted to resolve this by putting me on hold and calling the store, but the store manager was not there. After she got back on the phone with me, I gave her instructions that in no way did I want this resolved through the store, but only by Firestone Corporate Headquarters. I asked her to let me know that this conversation was recorded and to make sure that it was heard by management. She assured me that their Corporate Headquarters would call me "within two business days". So, I will wait until they call.

But, since my fiancee also had a problem with another company called National Dealers Warranty Inc, a total scam company that takes your money, but does not honor their extended warranty contract, and she contacted John Matarese with WCPO, Channel 9, who does his "Don't Waste Your Money" segment, and also Howard Ain of Channel 12, who does his "Trouble Shooter" segment, if Firestone does not resolve this situation, I will broadcast this repair bill in all of the Greater Cincinnati area for all to see and do as much damage to their business as possible.

Firestone Complete Auto Care will rip you off at every attempt. So will National Dealers Warranty Inc. Avoid them both.

They need to be held accountable - a local garage did the same work on my car for $210 and picked up the car where I work.

Now the credit card they are offering - 0 payments 0 interest 6 months - there a joke - just got my first
bill - bottom line says "must be paid in full to avoid interest" and then when I call they are open 9-9
but it doesn't tell you to hit 1 for English it just starts talking spanish and then they tell you the wait
is 72 minutes when you call in just before 9 - how convenient 60 minutes plus.
They will be reported to the local Attorney General's offiice for false advertising and the credit card company will also be reported to Atty General and Consumer Protection for the State.

Firestone Complete Auto Care overcharge

Shopping trip to Hagerstown interrupted by a split rear heating hose. Told the mechanic/rep at desk that it was a ruptured hose and where as I had looked under the Tracker/vehicle and saw the problem. Told there was no problem, was going to get it taken care of very quickly, next car in slots, and would have a writeup on it in a moment. "Just sign here so that we can have a look at it". Encyclopedia salesman move of holding down paper for me so that I could easily sign OK for them to work on it...to see my signature applied to a charge as part of my final bill of 19.95 for PRESSURE CHECK on a vehicle I had just told him had no fluid in it, and had a split in rear hose of which I specifically asked to be replaced. The speedy job I was promised, being next vehicle in line, with the rep knowing my sense of urgency being that I had 90 minutes to pick up my children from school 30 minutes away, turned into hearing, after 30 minutes of wait...that my part, a common hose, would arrive at the shop within about 30 minutes. To be brief; I ended up paying $90.91 for the $17+ hose and labor. Once the part got to the shop, it took the mechanic a little over 7 minutes to install the hose and fill my radiator/system with recycled ($10) fluid. An 1/8 hour of work resulted in $50. of charges.

Ultimately my children had to wait after school with their principal, and I learned another of lifes little lessons. Get a full quote first with a time guarantee and never at Firestones in Hagerstown.

I asked her to let me know that this conversation was recorded and to make sure that it was heard by management. She assured me that their Corporate Headquarters would call me "within two business days". But, I decided that I couldn't wait. So, I looked up their website and discovered who is the president of retail and called. The person I tried to reach, Larry Magee, was in Japan, so his assistant handed me off to another person, Keith Rahonin (I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling).

Mr. Keith Rahonin stated that these costs were in the same price range as their competitors. He also stated that they have a full year warranty on their parts. But, so what! Spark plugs these days normally last much longer than one year! I've had the same spark plugs in my car for three years and counting! Firestone Corporation refused to do anything about these ridiculous charges. So, I told Keith that I would bring the invoice to Mr. Howard Ain of local Channel 12, who does his "Trouble Shooter" segment and also to Mr. John Matarese of WCPO Channel 9, who does his "On Your Side" segment. I also told him that he should take this seriously, since my fiancee just recently met with both men in relation to another scam (see below). There's approximately 10 Firestone repair centers in the Greater Cincinnati area and they should see their business adversely affected due to their outrageous costs for simple repairs. Hell, I can get a timing belt or both CV joints replaced for about the same money they charged for just

4 spark plugs
4 spark plug wires
Fuel system cleaner

My fiancee also had a problem with another company called National Dealers Warranty Inc (Google them), a total scam company that takes your money, but does not honor their extended warranty contract, and she contacted John Matarese with WCPO, Channel 9, who does his "Don't Waste Your Money" segment, and also Howard Ain of Channel 12, who does his "Trouble Shooter" segment, and did interviews for both of them. Howard Ain's report broadcast today, 12/10/09.

If Firestone does not resolve this situation, I will broadcast this repair bill in all of the Greater Cincinnati area for all to see and do as much damage to their business as possible.

Firestone Complete Auto Care will rip you off at every chance they get. So will National Dealers Warranty Inc. Avoid them both.

Firestone Complete Auto Care car misdiagnosis and illegitimate repair

Mechanic and business rep named Sherman in May of 2008 told my wife, then fiancee Rachel Johnson that all she needed was an intensive tune-up, and charged her for it ($300), even though it would have been free because the tune-up was under warranty, based on her car still being 80, 000 miles. He then stated you didnt need a tune-up even though he charged her anyway and misled her, he told her that in addition he made a mistake and then told her she needed a catalytic converter, which was the original and only problem. He later stated that she needed a fuel pump which will run anywhere between $700-$800. She took her 2002 MAlibu to another mechanic on Broad and Hunting Park at Midas (possibly Meinikie) who stated the fuel pump will only cost $200. She took her vehicle to Bryner Chevy, they told her who ever did the original tune-up (Sherman) put used parts in her vehicle, so not only did he misdiagnose her vehicle issue, but the diagnosis she received, Sherman put used parts in her car. I will report him to the better business bureau as well as the Department of State Complaint form. He also pulled this same tactic with my mother Alice Wells who refused his services.
