Firestone Complete Auto Care complete rip off

Firestone is a complete ripoff. My 83 year old mom went there for a tuneup and came out with a 2400.00 bill on a credit card she didn't know sh was getting. She thought it was a loan, they told her she could make small monthly payments. They didn't tell her it was at 23% interest. Her car only has 71, 000 miles on it, they replaced the struts, shocks, brakes and a lot more. Attonery General investigators have contacted us regarding our complaint. We hope they stop them from ripping people off.

Shrimpozi, This is not Firestone, but the automotive industry i general. Firestone follows MAP (Motorist Assurance Program) which is the highest automotive regulation company in the world. All recommendations are based on MAP guidelines or recommendations from the vehicle's manufacturer. Another way to look at it in my opinion is what if Firestone did not recommend the things they do, how would you feel when an issue did occur that left you straned and no one had informed you of that potential issue? As you can tell I'm a store manager for Firestone and we see both sides of it. Firestone trains their employees and especially management staff to take care of the customer regardless of the issue. If the shocks did not fix your problem as they stated it would then you should've been reimbursed immediately for that repair. Firestone has an outstanding customer satisfaction system and I can assure you if you inform someone at their district office you would not be paying for shocks.

I think Firestone follows a business plan that exploits people's lack of automotive repair knowledge and encourages their employees to push people in to unneeded repairs. I recently took my vehicle in for them to investigate a rattle in the suspension. I was told I needed new shocks & a sway bar. The employee told me that the shocks were on sale & that should take care of the rattle-it did not resolve the problem. From dealing with them for several years I get the feeling that corporate Firestone pushes the employees to boost profits by making laundry lists of repairs that may or may not be needed. I do not trust them & I dont do business with businesses that I do not trust.

Shopping trip to Hagerstown interrupted by a split rear heating hose. Told the mechanic/rep at desk that it was a ruptured hose and where as I had looked under the Tracker/vehicle and saw the problem. Mechanic and business rep named Sherman in May of 2008 told my wife, then fiancee Rachel Johnson that all she needed was an intensive tune-up, and charged her for it ($300), even though it would have been free because the tune-up was under warranty, based on her car still being 80, 000 miles. He then stated you didnt need a tune-up even though he charged...

Firestone Complete Auto Care overcharge/not living up to warranty

On November 5, 2006 in “Good Faith” I purchased Fuzion HRI $64.99, 40, 000 miles limited warranty tires for my 2002 Chrysler Sebring LX from Firestone Complete Auto Care @ 4920 Washington Avenue in Racine, WI. Last Saturday October 24 my brother-in-law noticed that the tread on the front tires had worn down evenly a great deal and the back tires were also on that same route. I took my car to Firestone on October 25 to discuss the problem I was having. I’m not sure of the young associate’s name but I believe it was Joel. He was so rude, telling me it could possibly be a tire rod causing this. He scheduled an appointment for me on Wednesday, October 28, but I had to reschedule to Saturday, October 31.

My uncle and I took my car in and Doug Gardner was the technician on duty. I explained to him what my concern was and what my warranty stated. He took my car in and checked the alignment told me my alignment was off. My uncle told him this would not have made the car tires wear evenly if this was the problem. Mr. Gardner came back and told me he had “4” Fuzion tires in inventory the same as mine and he could put these on my car. I told him fine. He came back and told me they did not have the tires. (If you have them in inventory, but can’t find them –I would think someone’s stealing from the company). So he told me they could put Champion HR BL $97.99 tires on my car in place of the Fuzions. I stated ok. He brings me a bill totaling $172.98 (which in the beginning I paid 190.69 for the Fuzions) was was the warranty setting in? I explained to him I was not paying that amount I have a warranty. My warranty stated I pay for taxes, stems and disposal fees. Then he stated I would pay the $83.98. After looking @ my bill instead of prorating the tire repair and replacement he charged me full price, parts and labor. I’m seeing that Firestone does not live up to their commitments/warranties. I do a weekly clean of my wheel covers and tires I noticed that all “4” of my center caps were “CRACKED”. This was not like that before I took my car in. Someone cracked my caps and I’m expecting Firestone to replace them. Maybe they were upset because of the difference in price I paid for the tires. But this is not my fault. I’m expecting for Firestone to address this problem and correct it. I’m waiting to hear from you by November 30, 2009. My back tires are almost in the same situation and I really don’t want to deal w/the Racine store again, but I’m expecting this rectified.

Ref: firestone Powder springs rd Marietta GA. First time I had to take my car to a shop. Went there for 2 engine codes miss fire #2 engine cylinder .Fuel level sensor high. Had it fixed but was charged 20 dollars for a 8 dollar spark plug and 160 for 80 dollar ignition coil and 36 dollars for intake gasket which were 10 dollars every were else. Then the told me I needed new valve cover cause the said oil was leaking into the sparkplug valleys. They refused to regasket the valve covers and charged me 500 dollars for new valve cover which I found on rock auto for 25 dollars. I would of done it myself but back problems and daughter needed car . So I just bit the bullet, Then I get a phone call . They told me I needed 2 catalytic converters and 1 fuel air ration sensor and 2 o2 sensors. the vehicle that entered firestone did not have these 5 codes when it came in the door. Total cost 3, 200 dollars. parts 2, 050 researched on line could get ALL the parts for 600 if I bought them. I told them on the phone I would like to see the engine codes myself . I have my own scanner. When I got to firestone they could not produce the engine codes for me. They just plain out lied to me and got caught. I didn't say nothing to them just paid for the other work and drove off. So if you ever get a diagnostics done there ask to see the results. if they say a part is bad ask to see the P0xxx code. a quick search on the internet can tell you what is wrong.

I went to fire stone auto center(Queensbury, NY) to get my car inspected they told me it would be 30 minutes, and it took over an hour and a half.

While doing the inspection they said I had a missing lug nut which i did not have one missing when I just had my tires serviced.

They were VERY rough on my car, they were kicking my tires off instead of removing them like they are supposed to with their hands. When they walked around my car with the tools it looked like they were scratching my car with it.

They slammed my hood down we heard it in the waiting area through 2 doors. It sounded like it cracked my hood.

They were so rude to us treating us like we were ***. They then tried saying I need over $2, 000 worth of repairs. When in fact I only need VERY minor repairs I was quoted at another place for $100 for the repairs.

It was the worst service I have ever received and I would only recommend going there if you are looking to get scammed! I would Never EVER go back to that place.

DO NOT GO THERE IT WILL BE THE WORST CHOICE YOU COULD MAKE FOR YOUR CAR & HARD EARNED MONEY!

I recently brought my vehicle into this center because a starter that they had replaced less than two years ago was no longer working. Although this item is supposed to have a two year warranty, they did not honor the warranty because they claimed the broken one was covered in oil. Then, after not delivering the car when they said it would be done, as soon as i picked it up it was making a very loud metallic rattling noise. I checked underneath and low and behold they didnt even bother to put the right bolt into the starter. Keep in mind replacing a starter is a piece of cake of for a mechanic, especially on my vehicle. There are only two bolts and they simply were too lazy to tighten one of them. I had to go out and buy a new one because the one they tried to use was too short. Unfortunatly the metallic rattle continued. I brought it in about a week later and they pretty much told me tough luck. They made me wait several hours and only checked the car for about 10 minutes and said it was a "fluke" that the noise started when they worked on it. Remember this car was fucntioning with no noise before I brought it there. THEN today, a few days after I pick it up from them, there is smoke coming out from under the car. Turns out this time they forgot ANOTHER bolt. Except a much more important one that fastens the transmission to the engine! Unbelievable. NEVER EVER EVER go to this center. There are much cheaper small AND large auto care providers in the area with good reliable work. These people are theives and you are powerless to get your money back from them.

I purchased four new tires and a warranty for my SUV from these guys. When the SUV had to be realigned repeatedly, I was told the tire was defective. Took it back to Firestone and what-do-you-know..."How do we know it's not the car instead of the tire? It's only one of the four tires and under the recommended miles before change...SCAM ARTISTS. The second you roll off their lot, they have no intention of replacing your tires...unless of course, you're going to pay them, again. DON'T BUY FROM FIRESTONE. Walk the extra mile if you have to.

Potenza! Let me thank you for once again giving me solace and comfort in this manner! I'm guessing I've struck a nerve somewhere and I take great delight in that! I know more about business than you could possibly imagine, my "business" is people like you! In addition to the service of my country and subsequent disability, I worked as a civilian for the treasury Dept, specifically the Internal Revenue Service. We hunt down and prosecute tax cheats among other things. Believe me we know all the tricks of everybody's trade including yours. Someday you will be audited, with the big numbers you mention like 49k operating expenses every month you'll attract their attention if you haven't already. When they call you for that audit, I suggest you take along your attorney, you'll find out what its like being overcharged for services for sure! You say I'm full of hate, I say it's more like disgust and contempt at the likes of people that gouge others for financial gain! Were you in the banking or real estate industries, my bet is that you would specialize in foreclosures! You make your money from other peoples woes, in your case under the guise of inflated auto repairs, adding charges that you've done absolutely nothing to earn! Then you say "god bless you" as if saying that absolves you of all sin, to you I say in reply "May the Devil take you"

While you're traveling down the river Styx to you proper destination, should you fall in the water, and should it be full of Piranha fish, fear not because they won't attack you out of professional courtesy!

Wed. the 7th of December 2011 as my wife was driving our 2002 Toyota Rave 4 the belt broke. We towed car to above mentioned FireStone. We were told originally the belt would be a $140 then the next morning a different employee called and said the cost was over $500. After much discussion they finally agreed to put on the $140 belt. The supervisor when I picked up car said that the $140 belt is exactly what he would have done. This seems simply a case of ”upping cost” at the expense of a non suspecting person. I am appalled and less than pleased. You have lost a future customer.

Paperwork states that they check air pressure in all tires. I told in 2 and a half months ago that's a valve caps were seized up and would not come off and I requested that they would get the caps off. this was early january the paperwork said that they check the air pressure at all tires and I took for granted that they fixed the cap problem I went to firestone on february third 2012 they did my oil change and on the paperwork stated that the air pressure was 35 pounds. there was no way they check your air pressure because the cabs are still seized up. so the last 2 services they did not check the air pressure in my tires and they were paid to do the service and did not do it"

Firestone Tire and Services is the worst service center I have been to. They are impossible. They have the worst customer service. They are really hard to deal with. They have no respect for customers. I was very disappointed with the way I was treated. I thought may be they have some problem with me but they treat every customer that walks through their doors the same way. Don't they know that it is because of us that they are earning a living? I wish I could do more and get them to shut down. The prices over there are so high. They are much more than what you would have to pay at any other service center. Believe me coming here is a big waste of money and time. I can't stand these people they really get on my nerves. I will never go to this service center again. Recommending this place to friends and family is something I won't do even if at gun point. Bad prices even worse customer service!

I purchased a new set of Bridgestone tires plus the lifetime alignment policy. I have routinely taken my car for regular tire rotations and alignments. Yesterday, I find out my tires that have less than 30k miles are wearing uneven and will need replacement in 4k miles. The reason from Firestone, my car didn't have alignments! I have paper work from all the times I took the car in and now find out that alignments weren't being done. I had my car in 6 months ago for tire rotation and alignment and not one word was mentioned that my tires were wearing uneven. Also they said the aligned it, but did NOT! I have also taken my car there many times and they say can't do the rotation/alignment because they're too busy. Come back another day. I'm sure that I've received this horrible treatment because I have this alignment policy. They want to sell it to you, but when you want service they consider you a worthless customer. I have talked to the manager and took all my receipts from the past 4 years and stated how unhappy I am with the poor customer service and now faced with purchasing new tires. He offered to give me a 55% discount on my next set of tires because of poor wear. I appreciate that, but I would not have gotten that if I had not saved all my receipts. I think they have treated me bad because I'm a female. I purchased that policy to take care of my tires and found out that I was not being taken care of at all. This is unethical business practice.

the last 2 days i have heard a humming from my chrysler when turning the wheel. i stopped into a gas station and found the power steering pump resovoir was almost empty. i took our car to the Firestone i have been doing business with for some years. i received info from the manager that the high pressure hose to the pump was faulty, AND that there were several leaks that were in the words of the Technician "Massive". The Tech suggested we replace the entire rack as there was fluid on the rack as well. i asked the Technician "could the HIGH pressure hose, when ruptured spray fluid onto the rack that it is bolted onto?" His answer was "the rack and the pump are 3 or 4 feet apart." well, this is true but not the question i had asked. when i confronted him about the word "massive leaks" telling him i replace my own oil every 2 to 4 months and i am never more than 1/2 quart low for the past 3 years, he changed his story a bit! with all this, i took my keys and ran... and will never go back. the Tech told the Night Manager that "i will Not change the pressure hose w/out changing the rack." this got me. so when i bought my own high pressure hose from a local auto parts location, the price was $27. The same hose (from the same auto parts store) from Firestone would have been $65. $190 installed. so i have saved myself $160 and my sanity by staying away from this campbell rd location of Firestone in Richardson, TX! and i think you should, too! Good Luck.

So 2 years ago I'm in Firestone to get a wheel alignment, in a moment of weakness the Store Manager convinces me to get the 'lifetime' package. This means I should never have to pay for an alignment again & can get wheel alignment on demand (within reason I would think, once every 1-2 years...) Firestone also claims that you get lifetime tire rotation with...

Firestone Complete Auto Care mark-up on parts and labor

I am writing with a complaint about charges for auto repair at FireStone Complete Auto Care. My car was diagnosed with needing a fuel pump assembly and a fuel filter. I was initially quoted: $513 for parts and labor for Fuel Pump I was then told by Charlene a service ad-visor that it was required they (FireStone) also replace the fuel filter which was $187.71 Parts and labor for Fuel Filter alone. When I asked why so much for the fuel filter Charlene informed me I had to pay for the part which was $61.71 and $120.29 for the labor which accounted for the high charge of the $187.71. She also told me because they had to remove the gas tank to replace the fuel filter. I then told her well if you are replacing the Fuel Pump the filter is sitting on top and you already have the part out so why the excess charge on the labor. She thought about it for a minute and recanted saying she would only charge me part of the labor for the filter since the fuel pump was being replaced. Labor for that was dropped from the $120.00 to $33.00 after a brought this to her attention. This discussion took place close to closing on yesterday 9/23/05 on and off between 4:08 and 5:47 pm. I thought the prices were a bit high so called a few places including the Dodge part to confirm prices and prices just were not adding up to what it would cost to replace the fuel pump and fuel filter. I called her today 10:30 am or so 9/24/09 to see if FireStone had began work on my car she informed me the fuel pump was in place. Intending to cancel and have my car moved else where but the work but she informed me the work was already done. I asked for to see my old parts and also asked for a detailed bill to justify parts and labor for fuel pump and filter. The engine size was incorrect and the mileage was at least a 100K miles off. I requested the boxes the new parts had come out of that went onto the car. The parts were purchased from Car Quest and I called a local Tacoma CarQuest to find out what real price for the Fuel Pump Assembly and Fuel Filter cost. I was informed by car the CarQuest staff located on 72nd in Tacoma [protected] the price for: Electric Fuel Pump Assembly $187.00 part number E7113M Fuel Pump $23.99 part number R86523 Compared to FireStone charged me $370.78 for the Electric Fuel Pump Assembly and $61.71 for the Fuel Filter. The staff at CarQuest informed me that sometimes a auto repair shop charges a 25% mark up but he was shocked when I told him the price FireStone invoiced and charged me for the product purchased/ordered from CarQuest. He also said it appeared that FireStone charged me 50% to 100% markup and suggested I bring the concern for the overcharged product to the FireStone's Officials.

Firestone Complete Auto Care safety hazard

A few weeks ago I had all of my tires replaced by Firestone in Lake Zurich, IL. Well, the other day I had to drive to Bloomington, IN to help someone move into their new apartment. The trip was fine--until about 11 miles outside of Bloomington, when my car began swerving (and this was a 60mph road, mind you). I managed to make it over to the right side of the road. Upon inspecting the tire, I noticed a lug nut on the ground. It was one of the lug nuts that holds the tire in place. There was only one in there...all the rest had gone missing. With the help of a police officer, I managed to get my car towed to the Bloomington Firestone. There, they inspected the car and told me that the Lake Zurich Firestone had put on the back left tire very poorly, with lug nuts that weren't tightened all the way. Some expensive Audi part in the wheel had been damaged, and the soonest they could get the part in was Thursday. This was Saturday, and I had to return home (5 hours away) on Sunday. They told me that Firestone would cover the expenses. Well, I have dealt with them for three days now and they had made no progress in talking to claims about covering the expenses or getting my car back to me in Chicago. Finally, this morning, I got called by a man at Bloomington Firestone who suggested that it was impossible that the Firestone in Lake Zurich had made a mistake, and that someone must have unsuccessfully attempted to steal the tire in those few weeks I had it. He said claims would call me later today to handle this issue. They didn't call. Based on the guy's response that Firestone couldn't have made a mistake, I think I have an uphill battle ahead of me to get all of the repairs, towing, and transportation refunded.

Now we need the whole story, were there aluminum wheels on this vehicle and did the customer retorque the lug nuts 25 to 30 miles after the tires were put on. The problem with aluminum rims is they oxidize on the back of the wheel and no matter how tight you get the lug nuts, when driving around the wheel will seat on the hub and you may notice
one or all the lug nuts a quarter of a turn loose, but if left unattended they will all loosen up and ruin lugs and or the wheel. Most people scoff at this but it does happen.

Good day All, on Wednesday May 27, 2009 about 06:15am heading south on Beltline Road to my job my car shut down on me as I stepped on the gas to go through the intersection. I tried to restart my vehicle it would not restart causing a fellow co-worker to help me get my vehicle off the road and on my way to work. I called John Smith my mobile automobile mechanic to take a look at my vehicle, after two days he found the problem. Okay we are going to refer back to July 22, 2008 when I took my vehicle to your store located at Store# 010156 Customer Old Denton Rd Carrollton, TX 75006 Invoice: 080369 I wrote you about 11 months ago how your technician(s) representatives butchered my wire harness to my car. After John put in the ECU and fixed the improper wire jumper by your technician(s) on the top side of the engine, here it is 11 months later he finds that your technician(s) butchered the lower half of my harness and not securing the harness at all causing it to wrap around my transaxle which then snapped harness for the crank shaft positioning sensor, and the sensor itself, in the same process it snapped the oil sending unit harness also after he done the initial troubleshooting of replacing the cam shaft positioning sensor first.

My personal concern for Store# 010146 is that on Sunday September 28, 2008 my fiancée car would not start while at the store, she called me and told me what was happening at the time. I then went over to see my assessment was that the battery was gone. Since I was caught between a rock and a hard place because my mechanic was not available at the time I told her that we would have to take it to your Firestone store which was the closet and open. I did not want to take her car there because previous experience, but she needed her car for work Monday, and the store representative that contacted me about the first incident told me he did not want to lose my business, and got away cheap with only a $150.00 refund credit to my credit card. So we took her vehicle there and I told your representatives the nature of the problem and it need an oil change, and left the vehicle with them. They called about two hours later telling me that yes the battery is bad and recommend that you replace the alternator and the belts that they were bad also. I asked for an estimate, after I was told the estimate, I then told them to replace the belts, battery, and change the oil please. When we picked up her car along with the invoice they gave some kind of graph print of the alternator charge, I got the car home, I started the car and removed the positive side of the battery and the car remained running which told me I had no alternator problem, and still do not have one. Customer Invoice: [protected] Toyota Camry SE (Blue) 4-2164 2.2L DOHC

Next adventure with Store# 010146 on Sunday April 26, 2009 my fiancée vehicle needed her inspection sticker for here vehicle, after calling around your store was the closet and open to do state inspection. We both looked at each other as to say oh no not again, but she told me that she did not want to get a ticket for her sticker being out. She took it over there, after a while she called sounding upset that they told her about the cost for the work to be done on her vehicle to pass inspection. What she was more upset about was the cost per lamp bulb being $19.99 each in which they replaced two of them, what even more upsetting to here now, one of the two has blown out already. She felt/feel that if she did not need that inspection at the time she would/could have brought the lamps herself and replaced them and I agree. Customer Invoice: 086113

Now my question to you and anyone else who may be reading this, is this the best you can do for your customers that spend their hard earned money at your store(s). I’m just hoping that it's just store# 010146, and if it is maybe you have some technician(s), manager(s) with bad altitudes that should be looked into, along with The Better Business Beau, Consumer Affairs, or one of the local News Station(s) that reports this kind of fraud. With the way the economy is now, we as Americans can not afford to sell out on each other for a quick buck, we already sold this country, took a good look around, we make nothing any more, and pretty much have nothing but ourselves.

I have attached pictures to your website along with physical documenation and pictures of the damage that was caused by your technician(s) and manager(s) negligents to my vehicle, in for a full refund of parts and labor done recently on my vehicle please.

Camshaft Sensor: $61.69
Crank Position Sensor: $70.19
Crank Position Sensor Harness/Connector: $16.23
Labor: $405.00

TOTAL: $553.11

Regards,

Eric Daniels

P.S. your site would not allow my photos to be loaded, so as a precaution for myself in case I encountered this situation all documentation was physically sent to the address above.

Firestone Complete Auto Care bad service

I went to the following Firestone location: Firestone Complete Auto Care 17912 Ventura Blvd Encino, CA [protected] I spent $170 on changing my front brakes, and was supposed to get "organic" brake pads, which are the best kind. I went back 3 times because the brakes kept making a noise when I braked. After the 3rd time I went there, they fixed it and the noise went away. 8 months later, the brake pads started to make a grinding noise . I went to Brake Masters (to get a second opinion), and they told me the anti-shem part of the pads fell off (I have this in writing from Brake Masters) and were grinding on the brake pad. They instructed me to go back to the original person who put on the pads (Firestone), and have them replace it, as it should be under warranty. I went back to Firestone, and the first customer service rep (Amir) told me they would replace my pads at no cost, and would put on the "organic" pads instead, since I had a more inferior type of brake pad. At the time, I did not realize that 8 months ago I had paid for "organic" pads (this is written on my receipt from Firestone which I have), but that they had put on a cheaper form of the brake pads on my car, even though they charged me for a more expensive brake pad. So the gentleman asked me to leave my car there, that they would change the pad at no cost to me. I came back 5 hours later, only to be told by the service manager “Kevin” that there was nothing wrong with my brakes, and that only the anti-shem had fallen off and that this was not a big deal. He told me he would replace my brakes if I had any problems in the future, but he refused to give this to me in writing. So I basically left my car there for 5 hours, and they did nothing to my car. On the paperwork they gave me, they stated that they “put back the anti-shem”, but the service manger Kevin told me they took it off – so the paperwork they gave me conflicted with the information that they verbally told me. A week later as I reviewed my original receipt from October 2005, I realized that I paid for organic pads, and they did not put those pads on, but instead they put on a cheaper form of the pads. I feel cheated because they lied to me and that I feel like they are dishonest mechanics at this location. That day he was even trying to convince me that I needed 2 new back tires, when I had actually bought brand new ones a couple months ago. They are dishonest and try to make commission by recommending consumers to buy parts that they do not need.

that's very rude thing to say to someone who's life was put in danger because of negligence. This particular incident was an external thing which you could see but what if it was an internal work? How exactly would someone go about checking that. What you obviously are not understanding is that someone put their trust in a mechanic they paid to do a job correctly.

I went to a Firestone store at 36th Street & Thomas in Phoenix, AZ. I paid for a safety maintenance check and a tire rotation, I then drove about 45 miles and lost control of my vehicle on the highway, I was able to stop my vehicle, however I was facing traffic on I-17. Thank God we were not killed, myself and my 5 year old Son. My Driver's side rear tire and my Passenger's side front tire were coming off of my Explorer. Firestone sent a Tow Truck, which took 5.5 hours to get there. Then Firestone only replaced the Bolts and lug nuts that were missing and told me my vehicle was FIXED. It was not, it needed several hundred dollars of work to be done, then Firestone told me that everything that was broken, was like that and said that it was on their inspection sheet, What Liars, I have my copy of the safety inspection and the only thing it showed was that my rear shocks were showing some wear & as long as I did not overload my vehicle it could remain like that for years, Exact words from their ASE Certified Mechanic, Assistant Manager. Firestone has never taken any responsibility for this motor vehicle accident. they have gone out of their way to be rude and patronizing, and have actually stated that I should have checked my lug nuts after driving a few miles then my family would not have been put in danger and I would not have needed to have back surgery etc. The store that I went to Advertises that they are Car Care Specialists, They fired the Technician that worked on my vehicle and I heard that I was not the first car accident because of not tightening the lug nuts properly. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they fought it and said it was going to be litigated so the BBB had no jurisdiction. So Buyer Beware, double check everything that they do. They are dishonest and they truly DO NOT CARE. They have signs everywhere stating that their mechanics are certified and then they have technicians and Assistant Managers that have Not finished or even started their training, but they are still working on vehicles. You are putting the safety of your entire family in their hands.

I changed my four tires for my 2001 Honda Accord EX 4 cyllinder car from Firestone Tire Center at
3161 EL CAMINO REAL, Santa Clara, CA. [protected]. Tire specification for 2001 honda accord
ex is 195 65 R 15. I purchased four potenza G009 tires with that specification. On 2nd february when I
was inspecing tires I found out one of rear tire a wrong tire has been put with 195 60 R 15. If this is the kind
of service and reliabilty is expected from a firestone tire center, it's really a problem. There could have been accidents
with wrong tire specification. How can they put a wrong tire when having a wrong tire increases probablity of
having accidents?

Well, while proper sizing is important, it's not very likely that one series down on a 195 is going to cause an accident. That's somewhat exagerrated. After all, it appears that the complainant went 10 months with no problem whatsoever. While it is sloppy, sometimes mistakes happen. Don't overreact. Just call the store and get it remedied.

Firestone Complete Auto Care fraudulent practices

I explicitly asked Firestone to check the oil leakage from the engine. They gave me $21 written estimate for oil leakage check on Saturday and called later asking me to wait until Sunday. OK. They called me Sunday morning telling me that a dye oil leakage check would cost $70! I said WHAT? So, they gain your business giving you a misleading estimate and later want to charge you much more for the same job! What a scheme! DO NOT ACCEPT! I told them to stop all and went to pick the car up. The car was on the lifter with all 4 wheels off! Why remove the rear wheels if the leak is from the engine on the front? They said that is their procedure. I told them I would not pay for a service/procedure I did not order. So, they did not search/find the leakage and performed an inspection on my expense to find other ways to make money. The guy on the front desk gave me a hard time and I had to go through a distress before he agreed not to charge the $21! My Sunday felt apart. So, my advice is not to pay these guys if they did not perform the job you wanted. Make sure to be as specific as possible about the job you want done and the problem you want fixed. Make sure they write your demand in the written estimate. If you do not take these preventive measures, they will do whatever they like to make money, will charge you and you will end up paying for their false estimate. I will never go back to Firestone or buy Firestone products. Good lucky.

Firestone Complete Auto Care ruined brakes, refuse to fix

I brought my car in to get the brakes fixed 6 months ago. Brakes continue to squeal despite 3 attempts to fix it over 5 months. After 3 attempts it keeps getting worse. My car now makes a constant high pitch squeal out of the front right only when not using the brakes, just so when I brake a different louder squeal comes out. I got my money back, but now im stuck with a car in worse condition than what i brought it in for. NEVER LET ANYONE AT THE FIRESTONE ON HIGHWAY 50 (EAST COLONIAL) BY THE FASHION SQAURE MALL TOUCH YOUR CAR. THE MANAGER OF THAT STORE SAID HE HEARS NOTHING IN MY CAR, BUT ANYONE THAT RIDES IN IT SEEMS TO NOTICE AND REMIND ME OF IT.

Firestone Complete Auto Care unauthorized credit account activated

I recently went in to firestone to have my car checked, struts were damaged, I authorized replacement, I inquired about the credit card from CFNA, the mechanic asked me some general information then printed the Credit Card agreement, I read the fine print then told him that based off of the interest rate that I would not like to apply, he said "its too late I already activated the account through the system" I said, " I didnt authorize you to do that and I didnt sign an agreement" he said "but you gave me your information, andthat all I need"

This is a scam running between Firestone and CFNA credit card. They will first make you open this card saying there is a discount which there is none as they just jack up the price and show the discount . Once your credit card is put on your firestone account, the folks at firestone charge the card without authorization. After this the CFNA credit card company will just ignore any complaints and send you an invoice from Firestone that you have never seen before.

Here is what happened with me. I took my car for engine stalling while the car was running. Firestone told me they first need to do a $80 diagnostic check to find out the exact reason. After that they called me and said need to replace battery and terminal wires. I said fine go ahead and then got a call to pick up my car. At this time the car wont even start. They had already charged the card once till now.

Now they told me they will fix the problem and finally next day, i picked up my car. While picking up the car i was told there is no extra charge. After a week, i went to the cfna website and see an extra charge of 400 $ made. This charge was unauthorized and unknown to me. I finally cancelled my card. This is a huge scam.

Firestone Complete Auto Care rip off

I had been a customer of this Firestone for years, but good managers are all gone but the greedy ones. Went in for an oil change and check on some noise issue. Told the bill will be $1600+ but 10% discount. That is 50% of how much my car is worth. I declined and went picked up the car. Guess what, instead of free inspection they got me for 22 bucks. Guess what, they are not getting me for the $1500. Went somewhere else and received a free inspection and with labor... $660 for the same fix. Matter of fact that there are some phantom parts Firestone was gonna charge me. I confirmed on internet that they inflate their parts to more than double of the actual cost, and I doubt I will be getting high performance parts. ( also, I paid for an inspection but they failed to ID the leak on the strut with lifetime warranty they put on, but the free inspection form other place revealed it. )

They actually had the guts to ask me if I like to have them change the air filter! Once again, MORE THAN DOUBLE! Once they handed me a manufacturer recommendation list to do but when I check the owner's guide, instead of all these high $$$ jobs, it is just an oil change for that amount of miles.

They had become very dishonest! They lost me as a customer!

Just had a bad experience with them as well, I was at the Firestone on South High in Columbus OH. I had a brake emergency, it was either a bad Master Cylinder or a leak, I did not have time to bleed and it was getting late so I took it to Firestone since they where still open. figured the parts where cheap, I would pay a little more but it would be worth it to have the truck ready fro the weekend trip.

Got a call the next morning, the truck was fixed, it was a busted Brake Line, they charged me 340 to fix it, a little steep but it was done and it is 30 days same as cash. Anyway I get off work and get a ride to go pick it up, as I pull up to the shop I see the truck is still in a repair stall? I go in and the counter person asked me if I have issues starting the truck when it rains out, I said no. He takes me out to the garage and demo's that it is cranking but it will not start, one mechanic blurts out he thought he smelled gas so it must be electrical. I did not hear the the gas pump kicking on so we tried to spray starter fluid in and it tried to kick on. Appears to be a gas issue, the tech starts going on about a bad fuel pump, I mention it was just replaced about 1.5 years ago. He then tries and tell me the cheap pumps go out all the time and I reported back that it was a Delphi, nothing cheap about it. They then said they would look at it the next day.

Next day they call me, and the Tech tells me he looked it over and it is one of two things, it is either out of gas or the fuel pump needs replaced. That was 2 odd options if you ask me, I explain I just filled the tank up a few days before bringing it in so I doubt the gas issue, he then goes on and quotes me a tick below $900 to replace the fuel pump. I thought that was high but he then explains they only use quality Delphi parts and so on, and he checked my Firestone account and I had more then enough credit to cover it. So I told him I will look into it and call him back. I research the part, retail is about $370, I could get it with a local discount for $300, I can get it online for $203, they where charging me $580 for the part. I have seen Advanced Auto Parts trucks there so I know where they are buying from and what that company would charge me for it, I am sure they are getting it cheaper.

I call the garage who put the last pump in, they apologized and explained the warranty anymore on those pumps is only a year. They did offer to put in anew one at a discounted labor cost, I told them I can get one for $203 and they said that was fine they would put that in for me. Now I just need to get it there, I call Firestone back and explained I need to get it to another garage to get fixed, they sounded not too happy, I then explained that if I could bring them the pump maybe I will let them do it for the labor, they said they could not do that. I explained it would be the exact same part and they still refused. I then explained that I thought their markup on the part was too much and then they hung up on me.

So I got to their garage and tried to hit the gas tank to get it going so I can take it to the other garage. The counter person made a commend that they tried that and it does not work, that the pump was bad. So then I strapped it and towed it to the other garage. I told them to check it out first to make sure it was the fuel pump. I get a call the next morning from the other garage, they said the truck was working I can pick it up anytime. I asked what was wrong and they said the one wiring harness up front had a couple wires that where broken on it, he said it was near the brake line. He mentioned it was a little corroded anyways but most likely when the Firestone guy was working on it he had to move it to the side which broke the wires and thus no power to the fuel pump, $15 part $80 in labor.

The tech was trying to be nice with Firestone but I keep wondering what would of happened if Firestone would of replaced the fuel pump and it still did not work. Would they charge me for the harness as well, did they already know about the harness and just had plans to replace it and still charge me for the fuel pump? I don't know this is not the first issue I have had with this garage and a couple friends had bad experiences there as well, I always figured they would be alright for tires and really light work but now I can't even trust them for that. I know it could of been totally honest on their part but I just got that feeling it was not as honest as it appears, I am on the fence right now about a BBB report on them or not.

The Firestone in San Antonio on Babcock is turning out to be the same thing about over inflating their prices.I guess they feel that customers are at their mercy and they can charge whatever they want.

Why has dishonesty run rampant in this country? Why can't their be honest people in the world anymore? Why does greed have to be a part of business in these so called giant companies that spend so much money on advertising only to stick it right back over to the consumer?

I hope someday they get theirs. You know what they say, what goes around comes around!

What's the point of complaining to the Better Business people? They don't penalize them for anything.Just a slap on the wrist and off they go to screw another consumer in the wallet!

The reason the economy is in the toilet is because of dishonest practices like Firestone and others like them. This country will probably never recover from this recesion since the rich keep getting richer. They kick us when were down and don't show any compassion for people that don't earn enough money.

Firestone is one of several corporate auto service businesses that are not what they seem. They look stylish and clean bu they will find a way to squeeze you and make you think they are even giving you something free or at a discount.

If it is at a 10 or 15% discount, they are jacking up the price of the parts or adding a "service" to overcompensate for anything you might have saved.

Know that they keep very few parts in stock. They get them from retail auto parts places just like you and I would and then they double the price. That is where they got my brake pads even though they do have a small stash of Wagners. Firestone is a bulbs and belts place at best IF you could trust them.

I got a replacement battery for my jeep. They state that they give you a free electrical inspection. But the electrical service charge (cleaning the battery terminals) was a charge. I could have bought a better battery at Sears for a third of the price.

I have had Michelin Tires on my car for the last 40k miles and they probably have 20k left. I bought them a Sears who rotates and balances them for the life of the tire but Firestone was closer. MY tires had developed a weird vibration so I took the car in to have them balance the tires.

They called me into the service area and tried to convince me the rim was bent and they tried but couldn't balance them. I couldn't figure out what that deal was until I took them to Sears, who did a perfect balance and told me both fronts were missing weight but had tap on weights on the inside of the chrome rims which was a no-no. The put the flat weights on the inside of the rim and it rides smooth.

Like all the other corporate credit hucksters, the almost handcuff you until you get a Firestone credit card. The only thing good about that card is that it offers 90 days interest free charges with a low minimum so you can pay what you want. I just don't like the hustle because clearly, the intention is to make it more convenient for you to keep bringing you are back to them for their inferior service and jacked up prices.

My son worked there and was in total amazement. He said, "dad, many of these guys have never even worked on their own car and I wouldn't let em touch mine!"

I just had a similar experience of "price inflation" with the Firestone here in Bloomington Indiana. The counter staff even tried to tell me that the nature of my problem (the driver's side window was off track but the motor was still good) was such that the motor would have to be replaced even if it was good (allegedly due to some gibberish about Subarus, the make of my car), and that it was a complex repair t hat woudl take at least a full hour ($85).

several months ago, they had inflated my brake repair estimate by over $250 and said that I needed reare brakes. Fortunately, I took it elsewhere for the repair and saved a lot of money. I had thought a window would be simple and less open to price inflation, but I was wrong. I add my name to the growing roup of people who will avoid Firestone for even the smallest repair.

Just an update. Found out the actual part cost $211. Firestone marks it up to $560, try to sell it to me for $440 as a "deal". $1600 repair I had it done at a different chain for $660. Can't not be happier.

Firestone Complete Auto Care intentional damage

Bought 4 new tires and lifetime alignment from Firestone complete auto care. Quoted me on numerous other unnecessary expenses that I refused to authorize. Well, after having 4 alignment check and spending a lot of money on cam bolts and new parts...my tires got worn so bad, they wouldn't even rotate them, or check the alignment without my purchasing 2 new tires...not only should the new tires be covered under warranty, they have less than 9, 000 miles on them, but since they have been the only ones doing the alignment, it should be covered somehow under that as well. Based on my experience with them, I will never return, they have lost my trust and tried to rip off a deployed soldier's wife...that really pisses me off!
