Firehouse Promotions Scam solicition

We received a call from a lady identifying herself as a representative of Firehouse Promotions. They are working with the Marion Fire Department, putting together message boards for every household in Marion, Iowa. She solicited our business to purchase a 2x2" square ad on this message board for $400. She then offered it to us for $300, as a last minute deal. I told my husband to hold off; started doing some research on the Internet, and found many complaints about this company. It appears to be a scam. I found complaints listed for other states, the closest being Moline, Illinois, but nothing in Iowa. Watch out people in Iowa!

They are now calling businesses in Fort Wayne, IN. Thought it was odd that they were calling from the Fort Wayne Fire Department, but the call came from a Moline, IL number. [protected]. Their website looks thrown together and non-specific.

They are the Biggest Scam Scums!.
I unfortunately fell in to their trap and paid them for an ad that ended up in Fairfax Virginia City Hall pending disposal, and the number of the boards were 200 in total.
I wish I had seen this review prior to my being sucked in to their scam.

I am A Public Educator with a Fire Department in Illinois.
Fire House Promotions contacted me and said" they will give us up to 5000 boards at no charge, I asked how they will get their money and they said Public education Grants but some businesses have their advertisements on them. Come to find they are contacting local businesses and telling them that "I have asked them to call on behalf of the Fire Department. "Not True
They are a scam!

I am the head of Administration at Firehouse Promotions, Inc. We do in fact have a contract with the Marion Fire Department in Iowa. We have also produced and shipped the fire department and the Advertisors their product. How are you able to comment on something that you did not have any involvment in?

Firehouse Promotions Scam and cheating

Firehouse Promotions Inc. contacted me July 31, 2008. Very similar to what I read the Las Vegas Realtor wrote…They said they received my information off of Realtor.com and 'You're very pretty' is what 'Sales Manager' Mary said. They stated they were calling from a company that produces emergency contact info on magnetic dry/erase memo boards and that they are contracted with the local fire department to make these boards and would I like to sponsor ad space for one of six spots available, & I would be the only Realtor featured on the ad. The said 10, 000 memo boards would be distributed by the City of Council Bluffs, IA fire department during fire prevention week in October and also at their safety training done in schools, parades, etc, throughout the year.

I was reluctant so they told me to check it out with the fire department myself and then call them back. I checked with the fire department and they said they had done business with the company several years ago and that it was indeed legitimate. So I called them back to have them go ahead and place the ad and emailed them my business card to put on the ad. They required $300 at the time and then the 2nd half $300 would be due two weeks later.

Then October 15 they called my Husband, Dustin, who owns a local Construction company and said they still had space for one small ad available but needed to rush in order to get it printed in time for Fire Prevention week, the ad would cost $350 and would again require half at that time and the second half two weeks later. We went forward thinking it was still legit. They ended up calling me one week later to get permission to debit my check card for the second half, which at that time I went ahead and paid the second half.

I received three of the memo 'boards' today. Several things wrong with it. First of all, it is a laminated piece of paper with a marker velcroed on it and sticky magnets on the back. I was not the only Realtor featured, in fact there were two other Realtors on there. My husband's ad isn't even on there at all, and it is way past fire prevention week!

I called the company at 11:30am today, 11/7/08, and was talking with a gal who told me she was not the one that handles issues like this and that everyone else was 'at lunch'. She said she would call me back. Needless to say, she never called. I called the company several more times today and never got an answer, just a voicemail, where I left two messages. My husband also left messages for them, with no return call.

I talked to the fire department and they too are feeling like the community has been scammed. Just today they received 500 memo 'boards' to pass out instead of the 10, 000 that was promised and are very frustrated that they did not arrive in time for the open houses that are held during fire prevention week.

My husband and I feel so violated. A total of $950 was spent and not much to show for it, and my husband's company didn't even make it on the memo 'board' at all. I have since dug deeper online and have found several scam reports on this company, two which posted after I paid for my ad. The company also operated or still operates under the name 'Spirit Solutions' and 'Rainbow Gifts'. I can't find a contact number for the owner, which in reading other internet documents have found his name to be Sylvanio Perino.

I'm delighted that all these complaints are now aired and / or dealt with. The Company is now run by the most upstanding professionals and no longer has the same workforce policies or issues. I do hope that in the future the accuracy and integrity of those reading and discussing this great business do it the justice it deserves.

FYI all these good comments about the business were done by their little lying staff members there that get paid to go on sites like this and leave all these good comments to make themselves look better to the public, believe me I was working there for a while! Any good comments you see on here were all done thanks to the workers they have up there trying to go online to clear their name don't fall for it, its all a SCAM!

I once worked for this company and your not the only people getting scammed, they are also robbing their workers! They hire nothing but con artist with most of them having one or more felonies on their records! Myself and a few others that actually have never been in trouble with the law went in and applied for jobs with this promise we would be making $11 an hour plus commission, what a LIE! They get their employees in the door and we get trained as they want us to be trained but when we catch on to their lies and decide to be honest and upfront with the people on the other end of the phone, they start not paying us, wearing us down and I kid you not, they have us come into work, work a full week then around payday break it to us that we were not getting paid whatsoever because we did not make a sale! So we go to work, cold call all these random businesses, get bullied by our boss who does nothing but get a $3k check a week to walk up and down the aisles of this business and bark orders and go across the street on breaks at the local tavern kick back a few drinks with the other manager then come back and bark more orders, that is all he does! These people are liars, con artists and ruthless and care nothing about any employee of theirs that is honest, honesty there gets you fired! Most of us go in there are desperate because jobs in the IL area are scarce! We go in with all these promises of great pay and end up getting nothing but deeper in debt than we were before going there to work because you end up working for them absolutely free! Anyone wanting to work there, its a SCAM! How this place is legally open in insane! All these businesses are telling the truth, this place is a joke! DO NOT BUY ANY ADS FROM FIREHOUSE PROMOTIONS AKA FHP FIRE SAFETY MAGNETS AKA SPIRIT SOLUTIONS EVER!

They scammed me too. I'm a REALTOR in SC. They told me the promotion was for Easley FD and it ended up being for a MUCH smaller department. They totally lied about the Fire Department this was for and they act like I'm crazy when I call or email them. I was lied to in multiple ways with this company. BEWARE! Scamming people using your local fire department? Horrible people.

It's very unfortunate that you had to go through a process like that. There is nothing worse than spending good money on something that you were probably excited about and it turning out to be nothing like it was portrayed to you as. I know the feeling. When purchasing advertising or anything for that matter over the phone, you have to do some homework. In all reality if it sounds to good to be true... It more than likely is. However, there are companies out there that are actually doing what they are saying. Working with who they say they are working with, and following through with everything they say. Companies that are scamming people need to be put out of business a.s.a.p. Advertising is a necessary evil. Similar to eating. It has to be done. I do know if I get food poisoning from a particular restaurant. I'm probably not going back. But I still gotta eat.

We get inquiries like this every day and pretty much dismiss them as worthless. I'm glad to say that I saw your posting when I "Binged" the organization. Thanks for thinking to spread the word!
