Fifth Third Bank / 53.com satisfy loan after vehicle was totalled

I recently had an accident and totalled my awesome vehicle. i am without a vehicle now for near 6 weeks, Meanwhile i lost my job "because i cant get there", lost my place to live for "having no job" and im waiting for them to send everything snail mail. this is luticris. Cant these huge companies figure a way to help rather than hinder this process? The bank has to wait for the insurance claims and claims has to wait for the adjuster, the adjuster took at least a week, the insurance company is in Ohio "GMAC" and dont have any adjusters in this area, "ORLANDO FLORIDA" ever heard of this small town? once the adjuster talked to claims it took two weeks for anyone to tell me the status. the first lady i talked to dropped the ball, the second lady i talked to really didnt want to do someone elses job so she pushed me off for days until i got her to give me the name of the loss agent. the loss agent im sure was busy but it took him a week to tell me he mailed me papers to sign and return with notery stamp, which i had to walk to the bank to get. i overnighted the papers to him and he still tells me there isnt a way for the bank to get the check other than snail mail. This process he says could take ten days. This sucks, i cant even apply for a job outside a five mile walkin radius from my moms house were i have to stay and wait and wait for a usps miracle. im screwed

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com auto loan payment

I have had an auto loan with 5/3rd since August of 2012. When calling to make my payment for January, I was informed that my payment for the month was double the usual payment and the amount in my coupon book! Looking further into the matter, I descovered that an auto insurance poilcy had been purchased for me by 5/3rd. Supposedly, the dealership with which I purchased my vehicle had not sent my proof of insurance to 5/3rd, they mailed a notification to my old address, and decided to make the purchase on their own with no response. I have provided my telephone number and email address to 5/3rd and was not contacted on either. On Jan. 18th (when I originally called to make my payment), I was told to fax and/or email a declaration page from my insurance showing proof of insurance from August of 2012 to November 2012 and the full amount ($1, 740) would be waived. I then cleared everything through my insurance and personally faxed AND emailed the declaration page that day-11 days before I would be charged a late fee. I called today, ten days after my initial phone call, and was told that a remaining fee of $330 was still showing on my account. I eventually found out that whomever read the fax I sent did not aacout for proof of insurance from August 2012 until November 2012-THE ENTIRE REASON I SENT THE FAX! Because of this person's error, the few days it takes to process my new request to waive the $330 fee, and trying to avoid any overdue fee, I just had to make a payment almost $40 what I should owe. This is beyond ridiculous. I spent more than an hour being transferred back and forth on the phone on both dates and still ended up paying more than I should have due to no error on my part. I will NEVER do any sort of baking through 5/3rd again. Nor would I recommend anyone else to. Had the problem been taken care of when I spent hours out of my day to do so, there would not have been a problem. Mistakes happen. But when the problem is not resolved well over a week later and I have to take it into my own hands and spend my own time getting it taken care of and STILL have to pay more than I owe, there is a big problem with the way the business is being ran.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com no sympathy for good customers going through rough time

I currently have a car loan with Fifth Third Bank. I have a 6 year loan and I only have 1 year and 4 months left to pay on it. I've always made my payments on time or within the grace period. I recently have been diagnosed with something that caused me to miss 4 weeks so far of work with no pay and I'm on short-term disability. It takes a while to receive a payment from short-term disability, depending on how quickly your doctor signs the papers. During holidays I wasn't able to get an appt. with the doctor any sooner than today.

Most banks have pass a payment they offer to customers who have been with them quite some time for those who are going through difficult times. I called Fifth Third Bank in hopes they would allow me to skip one payment this time since I have been a great customer and with my situation. I was told that since I have no income now, even though I am still employed and will get short-term disability payment in few weeks, and I'm receiving taxes soon, that they will not accept this until I receive payment, then they can work out something with me.

If I received payment then I wouldn't be calling them and I'd pay my bill, now wouldn't I? This makes no sense whatsoever. I'm upset on how they treat their customers and don't give them any perks or sympathy for them being a good customer. I will NEVER do business with them again! PLEASE BE WARNED.

I am spreading the word about them on all sites and want everyone else to know how they don't care about customers, just money.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com auto loan fees

Guess I should have checked this website before I got a car loan with 5/3. I used my final coupon in Oct. Called early November because I hadn't received anything for payoff. I was told it had to be mailed to me. Received a letter that stated my final payment was due 12/14 and the amount was $XXXX. I sent that amount, the check was cashed 12/13. I called to see when I would received my Title and guess what, now I owe another $126 fees from November, which was when I called, plus interest. As if 6 years of my money wasn't enough!

Picked up my 2009 Ranger for repo .we were talking to 5/3 /1 2/3s proper fraction at the time saw some funny lights out front the repo guy already had the Ranger on the hook, would not release the my little he had a computer in his truck, it said pick up my truck so he did 10 years ago he wouldn't have gotten out of my Drive .I called the bank the next day they said I could pick up my Truck for 1, 575.85 so I went dow to the bank tp pay it off .when I got there they told me I owed $1280.00 I told them to re check so they called some A-Hole in Grand Rapids Thats where there repo center resides, I should have known something was wrong, nothing good comes out of Grand Rapids. This time They told me the pay off was 1, 780.00 so if you are counting that is the third amount they gave me that same day within 1 hour The actual pay off was $1, 080.00 My math tells me that is $700.00 they charged me, when I asked Ms Hanky at the downtown 1 2/3 s she told me they payed a Bonded repo guy to pick up and store my Ranger .They must think we are born last night. When I told the repo guy about the $700.00 he was getting he laughed in my face he gets $100 for driveing from Woodville Oh to Toledo Oh and back in a 4 miles/gallon Wrecker, so this poor ### is getting screwed much worse than me.I know this is going on forever, my question is where dose the other $600 go.I'm going to call and find out, if they don't tell me at 5th turd This time I will send this info to the State Attorney, And the Consumer Protection AGENGY on is a D and one is an R .and just waite and see what comes up first I will also call my Union Hall Business Manager see if the Hall does any business witrh 1 and 2/3 rds If they do they will stop knowing 1 and 2/3rs is running a repo scam if any regular person did this they would be in Jail but we do have Lobbyest in the State House Run by R's I am retired and will make this my life job to stop this scam by 5//3rd

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com lien release

Paid off my 2013 GMC Terrain on December 5, 2012. Car was purchased from Foreman-Blair Buick - GMC - Cadillac in Springfield, Ohio. Interest rate was 1.47%. Total interest paid was $850 over the 5 year period. I closed the loan two weeks later and 5th Third charged me $400. fee for early cancellation. Despite three phone calls, I still don't have the lien release letter so I can get title. With this type of Behavior by 5th Third Bank, why would anyone want to bank there. I guess an attorney is my next stop.

Fifth Third Banks are crooks worse than the mob! I was charged over $175 in charges for a $150 deposited in wrong acct. Tried to remedy the situation but charges kept accumulating. Only $37 was reversed, then made a cash deposit to cover a check and 53 did not count their $37 reverse charge AND charged me a $37 fee same day!

These people are crooks and need to be dealt with now!

The redemption fee is so high, that I actually get less money that i deposited and all of the interest is also absorbed in the fee. They go out of there way to keep your money. They are supposed to be a good back, but all is see is money hungry chumps looking for other ways to keep my money because I don't fall prey to their overdraft or checking fees.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com lost rv title

My husband and I purchased an RV from an individual. Fifth Third Bank of Northern Michigan was the lienholder on the RV title. Upon processing our loan, my bank forwarded the $43, 000.00 payoff and the vehicle title to Fifth Third Bank for them to release the lien in order that we could transfer ownership and list my bank as the new lienholder. Fifth Third Bank received the funds, paid off the loan, sent a Release of Lien letter back to my bank, but did not return the title. They are now telling us that they do not know what happened to the title (which is a nice way of saying that they lost it) and that we need to file for a lost/duplicate title. Instead of having any concern at all and getting off their DUFF to attempt to locate the title, they want us to incur the expenses and time involved to just file for another title. Obviously they got their money and that's all they cared about. It is inconceivable that a bank as large as Fifth Third Bank is this irresponsible in their actions. I am so glad that I do not trust my money to an irresponsible financial institution such as this.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com deceitful business practices

We refinanced our house with 5/3 Bank a couple of weeks ago. At the close there was a document to authorize automatic withdrawl from our checking account for the monthly mortgage payment. Since our 5/3 checking account is only used for our line of credit that we have with them we declined to have our mortgage payments automatically withdrawn from our checking account. That seemed fine and the close went through.
A couple of days ago we received a form from 5/3's post close department asking us to sign the authorization to make automatic withdrawls from our 5/3 checking account for the mortgage payments. I called that department and they; as did the lawyer, said it was no problem not to authorize the withdrawls.
Yesterday I received a very curt email from our loan originator saying our rate was based on having automatic withdrawls for the payment and if we did not authorize it we would have to pay close to $800 in penalty. Keep in mind that we did not get the loan for free. We paid $3.7K in settlement charges, $2.2K of which was to 5/3 for the loan. Now they say we got a special rate bound to the automatic payment withdrawls.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com cold practices

I have not even had my checking account open for a year and they found a way to screw me over. I opened up an account with 5/3 to take up their promotion of receiving $100 if you open up a checking account with them, big mistake. The promotion had some stipulations that you had to keep the account active for a certain amount of months to receive the promotional benefit. I made the appropriate transactions and nothing. So I had to call customer service just to get the promotion they had and they acted like they didn't even know it existed. So they took care of it and that was fine after a long drawn out conversation and I thought everything would be fine, but I was wrong. I have another bank I primarily use and because I didn't use my checking account with 5/3 over a period of 3 months I was charged the $7 maintenance fee that put my account into overdraft so I was charged an additional $30. Since it was the maintenance fee that put my account in overdraft, no notice was sent so I had no idea at all. I didn't have but only enough to keep the account open so when I got charged the maintenance fee and overdraft 5/3 CLOSED my account AND sent it to collections WITHOUT any notification! I also have a savings account with them that has enough to cover the maintenance fee if 5/3 cared enough to take care of their people. They told me that they have features through text or online for me to keep up with my account, but why would I need to if I don't primarily use it? It's not like I over drafted my account through my own doing. I had no clue about the maintenance fee. I am appalled and highly recommend not banking with 5/3 at all.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com fifth third bank can be tough to handle if you are battling them alone

Fifth Third Bank needs to be pressured with Imminent (BK) Threats or Mediation Law and Procedures.
They are basically a giant collection agency. They purchase the distressed mortgage at Extreme Discounts from various key players in the sub-prime arena. They collect aggressively on this paper. They do not play by the rules and need to be pressed hard.

We have completed successful loan restructuring cases with Fifth Third Bank. They are all long run and brutal battles.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com rude customer service from total loss department

I had called about my account from the total loss department and spoke with a woman named Kelly. My insurance company sent a check to fifth third and it has been not processed yet. During this period a monthly payment on my old car was due at the beginning of the month. I was told I had a grace period of 10 days and not owing any money on the account. Kelly told me that money has been accruing on my account that I will need to pay. I told her that I should not have to pay any late fees because a check was sent from my insurance company. I asked to speak to a manager and Kelly said no. I continued to ask for a manager and she refused to transfer me and hung up on me. I have never been treated with such disrespect and if I want to speak to a manger I should be able to! Kelly deserves to be treated how she treated me.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com copy of loan agreement

I purchased a used car in November, 2011 and the car dealer neglected to enclose my loan documents in the packet I received. I've called 5/3 Bank five times since November and still have not received a copy of my documents! I've even talked to managers who said they would get the documents faxed to them and then personally mail them to me. Apparently, the manager never got the documents either. I am so fed up with this bank that I borrowed the money from someone else and paid off the loan today after two months. And then I got hit with a $195.00 early pay-off fee which the car dealer loan officer conveniently forgot to mention! My advice - get a loan from a credit union instead! And don't buy a car from Kerry Ford either!

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com lack of customer service

Not exactly a complaint worthy of the 60 Minutes but...
astounding lack of customer service - holiday sprint - extra dose of Bah Humbug - pick one!

Earlier today stopped by my local 5th/3rd branch drive thru for some minor banking, I requested a couple of "dog biscuits" - that's right, dog biscuits. Did not have a dog in the car w/ me and was told that they, the employees, buy them themselves. No dog = no dog biscuit.
Bottom line #1: no frigg'n dog biscuits for the dog!
Bottom line #2: I'll be closing by multiple business & personal accts w/ 5th/3rd next week.
merry christmas.

former long-time, soon-to-be-ex-customer. Any wonder local community banks AND credit unions are cleaning the clocks of the big, national banks

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com doubled final balance

I'm in the final year of a 5 year finance agreement with Fifth Third Bank. They financed my car. My husband just called to get a payoff amount and they told him that we owe exactly DOUBLE our actual balance. Nobody can provide a payment history or explain how this is possible. When I calm down I will have to seek a resolution. Any ideals on where to start?

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com Unprofessional

I contacted them in regards to a fee on my sons minor student account for excessive transfers of funds. I explained that this was what was suggested we use when he went to college plus they add 3 other accounts for him. The lady stated she couldn't assist in the reversal of charges so I asked for a supervisor. His name was John Weiss (spelling?) he was rude, non sympathetic and stated no one but him could help and he wasn't reversing the charges and not willing to look into it for me. I then contacted my local branch explained the same story and how we went into a office an spoke with someone specifically about the transferring of funds and was directed to use these accounts. They were very professional told me what options he should use in the future about a different account he should of opened and she reversed the charges - it was only a few bucks. Well I went ahead and called back the customer service department because I wanted to get the correct spelling of Johns last name because I was going to file a complaint on how I was treated. They accidentally sent me to another John - a John Berger who was just as rude if not more rude than the other John. He pretty much said well I am not sure how to spell the other John last name, no I cant get it for you. Just go with what you got and laughed at me several times. At this point it isn't even about the few dollars it is about how these people are treating other my whole family banks there.. I constantly praise the services at Fifth Third bank I love our branch people they are always helpful and nice. But these people in Cincinnati customer service center are being led my very unprofessional individuals who need to remember we are their customers - without us they would not have a job. This is why everyone is fleeing to credit unions. There is more compassion and respectfulness in a smaller unit. I understand that people need to do their job and I respect that. But these two men were so out of line I couldn't believe it. I will not stop here - I will make sure I send complaints to all VP's State wide. These 2 gentlemen I hope will learn a lesson and maybe receive a low mark on there performance review. thank you!

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com horrible company

I'm writing today about a bank that needs to be stopped, that bank is Fifth Third Bank of Ohio. On November 4th 2011 I purchased a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica financed with Fifth Third Bank. I thought everything was fine until I started getting the Denial Letters from banks that denied us, one of them was from Fifth Third Bank stating our credit rating was unacceptable. I contacted Humes Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Waterford PA where I bought the car and read the letter and they stated that everything was fine that the car was paid for that morning. On November 16 2011 I recieved a call from Santander Consumer USA congradulating me on the purchase of a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica. I had no idea what was going on, I've done business with Santander before and never had a problem but I was told the car was financed by Fifth Third Bank, I signed Fifth Third Bank contracts. As it turns out Fifth Third Bank sold my car to Santander Consumer USA right away, Fifth Third made no attempts to contact me to let me know. If Santander didn't call me I would have no idea about the purchase of the loan. To make matters worse Fifth Third bank even though they sold the car to Santander they kept themselves as beneficiaries on our insurance if the car was totaled. I'm not the only victim of Fifth Third Bank, check out reports online, many people have problems with them in regards to loans and there handling of car insurance. Fifth Third needs to be stopped, they never gave me a chance to show them I can pay my bills and I'm sure if I sent them a payment without knowing about the buyout Fifth Third would have kept the money. Thanks for your time.

Fifth Third Bank / 53.com car loan

Avoid Fifth Third Bank! Run as far away as you can from this terrible disgraceful Bank and its nasty employees. Took out a 5 year Auto Loan with them, have just 5 payments left til my 5 years of Terror with this horrible Bank ends. When the economy fell apart 3 years ago, I struggled with payments, running 5-25 days late. They terrorize you dailey on the phone, at home, place of employement and cell. When my payment reaches 10 days late, they then begin to call my neighbors every hour on the hour, starting at 8 am- 9 pm. They ask my neighbors if they know me or anything about me. They are just shameful and heartless. Close acccounts with this horrible Bank and tell your friends to do the same.

My son (I co-signed) had a car loan with them. The loan started in 2005. Thanks to the economy he ended up filing bankruptcy. Even while under bankruptcy Fifth Third Bank was racking up the fees. I called to see what the pay off would be - $16, 000 for what should have been $8, 000. Not only that, put they were also adding $3 a day. What? Isn't that illegal? Talking to customer reps doesn't do any good. They are just plain rude. Needless to say, the car has now been repoed and I'm waiting to find out what other fees they will be tacking on. Greedy, usurpers. I will never, never, never do business with them again. This is one bank the government should investigate.

I have purchased at least 5 new cars and have generally used Ford Credit. This time around I went with Fifth Third Bank since they had a slightly lower interest rate. I missed a payment due to an oversight, which I paid once I realized it. I then received one of those skip payment offers. It was a short month for money and I decided I would take it. Mailed in the form they sent me 20 days prior to the payment being due. 2 days after my payment was due the phone calls started. I explained that I chose the skip a payment they offered and well of course, they didn't receive it. So I had to fax in my copy, which thankfully I kept. Now 3 days after this was done, they are calling me again. Do they not keep records of what they discuss on the phone? Why is it my job to tell them what they have done or not done. If they record the conversations maybe they should listen to them. Quite frankly after being harrassed for 2 weeks I do not need to be told by some high school drop out about my language, which was not the f bomb.

These thieves sold my loan without telling me and kept themselves as the beneficiary on the insurance. 5/3 needs to be stopped.

Why should I close my account with them because they are rude to you for being a deadbeat on your loan?

You should of saved up for a car and paid with cash. The bottom line is that you owe money and the loaner has every right to expect you'll comply with the terms. It was your choice to sign a contract saying you'll pay it back over five years. If you would of bought for cash, there would not be an issue.
