I worked for this company for 5 days, 2 for unpaid training, and 3 actually on site. They expect employees to show up at 7:30 in the morning for a daily meeting, then go out to different sites and work all day, all unpaid. This company uses an "Independent Distributor Agreement" to allow them to use employees like work horses. No gas, food, or regular wages. The company it's self is set up like a pyramid scheme, structured to promote from within when you "meet sales goals." They had me standing in Sam's Club for 10-12 hours trying to pawn off spa and golf packages to impoverish customers. It was degrading and morally depressing. They told me I wasn't making sales because of "my attitude." The staff actually suggest using lies and deceitful tactics to persuade people to buy these Smart Circle packages. The packages themselves are not user friendly, they often have fine print limiting their use. The staff told me to ignore anything that may prevent a sale. I have yet to receive payment for my few days I was employed. That's right they haven't paid me anything and are avoiding my phone calls. I would suggest NEVER using them for any event. Spare your employees from the stress of dealing with this company or it's shiesty practices. If you are thinking of working for this employer please... pretty please, save the time and energy of getting wrapped up in this monster of a scam. I'm angry at myself for letting myself get lead around by talk of high sales figures and "finding a means to an ends."

This company advertises itself as a marketing and promotional sales company but actually translates to door to door sales man selling spa/golf packages to people at home or in public.

They will always hire you as long as you show any inkling of intelligence and ability to speak the english language properly. They use lies to hire you (you will make 6 figures in under a year) and tell you to use lies to sell the packages to other people, pretty much say anything that will get the package sold. Also this is Arizona, lets face it, more than half the time its 95+ degrees and they expect you to be outside for about 8 hours of the day going DOOR TO DOOR, spending your own gas money sweating without reimbursement. You do not get paid at all unless you sell packages as pay is 100% commission based. The first week which is training or shadowing a "seasoned" sales man is not paid either so you sweat for 8 hours going door to door for free. They can afford to keep HR hiring continuously because they don't have to pay anyone ANYTHING if they fail to make a sale...there is 0 risk for them.

They have extremely high turn over which makes sense as people figure out the way they generate revenue primarily for the top head honchos or realize sweating door to door for meager pay is not worth it. Stay away, they may sound professional on the phone and try to entice you with praise because you are "overqualified" for their job so you can be promoted etc are all lies to get you to sign up for their team of "sales men". You have been warned.

I just lost my job on Monday. I applied for some jobs on Tuesday and posted my resume. I did not apply for FLI phoenix but somehow I immediately got a call Wednesday. I did not call them back because I was busy and I wanted to research them. They called me back soon after I got the message. They set me up with an interview Thursday. I called my friend because I was excited I had an interview and she said they had called her too! That is pretty strange since neither of us applied and Phoenix is such a large city. We thought oh well we'll go in anyway. Our interview was the same time, same day. We drove together. I was astounded by how few questions they asked about my skills. They only asked where I was from, if I was a people person, and one word to describe me. Then the last question really freaked me out, "How much are you'r bills a month?" Really? What kind of interviewer asks you that. I told him and he averaged it over 4 weeks and said he thought I'd be able to make that much. Then he asks me to come in tomorrow for a full day interview, which obviously I'm not getting paid for since it's an interview. I just keep thinking that I don't want to go. I am so glad that I found these reviews because now I am definitely not going. I have a hard time knowing when it is my gut telling me to stay away, but that it what I thought it was.

Terrible experience with this bogus company. They present themselves on the job websites as Entry Level Marketing/Sales Rep/Advertising/Public Relations. They have even gone as far to disguise themselves as SPORTS MARKETING REPS/Account Managers for Diamondbacks. As a curious young graduate in Marketing, I thought this might be a good opportunity and to try to get an interview. I sent my resume online and was thrilled to get a call back to set up an interview. They told me to bring a resume and dress professionally. The interview was set up pretty early in the morning around 8:30am. I wanted to make a good impression naturally so I wore a nice suit. When I went in for my interview, one of the supposed managers brought me in and asked me pretty normal questions about my experience and credentials on my resume. He then began to talk about the company structure and how they promote quickly and yada yada like but not really giving in-depth details. Then he asked if I had a few hours to go out in the field to experience first hand and work with one of the reps. I thought it was a great idea to get a first person view of the position. The rep picked me in his car from Fiat Lux office and on the way to the "site", he was pumping me up saying they have potential to earn six figures once you become a manager and it's such a good opportunity compared to the corporate world that he came from. He then went on to telling me we were going to visit some of the businesses they work with and again how the there is great opportunity to advance in the company blah blah without even giving any concrete details. After driving for 15 minutes he parked in the middle of a shopping center and he popped his trunk and whipped out some boxes containing a piano which looked like one of those novelty prizes you win at the arcade with a butt load of tickets that is really a piece of crap. He said this is the product they were marketing that day and he told me we would hit all these businesses and to keep up with him. He frantically stormed in each business whether it was a Big Lots or mom and pop mexican fast food joint, hair salon, dentist office, daycare or dive bar and gave a sales pitch about the pianos to any clerk he came across and even some customers he happened to pass by. I was appalled! He was straight up SOLICITING! They have the interviews early because that's when the businesses open and they drag you around like a work mule, caddying their cheap merchandise! I was stuck with him all day because he drove and I had no way of getting back. I was tromping around in my suit going door to door getting dirty looks from customers and employees, while also selling a piece of junk to people to which the rep had no remorse! Don't get DUPED! DO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME WITH A FIRST INTERVIEW if you want to avoid this kind of work in a pyramid scheme company.

Thank you to those who have taken the time to alert us to this company's practices. I suspected it was a scam when I could not find any mention of corporate officers or owner on their own website or blog. Seems like they skirt the boundaries of illegality on their payment practices. Straight commission only works for big ticket items like real estate and high end autos. This company only sells discount certificates for entertainment and other packages. It can only make a profit on this by exploiting it's sales force.

Thank you to the original poster, and the others who described their experiences with this company. One thing very telling is that the company's website does not list any of the executives or owners. The verbiage in the website seems designed to obfuscate and confuse, rather than explain and enlighten. The website is clearly not used to obtain and retain customers. As far as working for straight comission, I believe that is illegal in most states, except for a few sectors that are for big ticket items such as real estate, and that requires a license. I suspected this was some sort of scam, and now it is confirmed. Never trust a company who's owner will not put his name on the company's website.

Hell no to this. I knew I had a bad feeling the minute I walked in. I sure played along, but found out the truth from a friend of mine who worked with them under their first name before they changed it to just an abbreviation.
To the people who worked there and thought 3 days of 6+ hours of unpaid training is fine, what the hell? Not in this economy. They lied way too much on each of their job descriptions posted on the internet...really low.

Worst Job I ever had. I think I lasted 5 days before enough was enough. I was fresh out of college and so excited that I happened to find a full time "job" before I was technically even graduated, that I may have missed or shrugged off a lot of the signs that this place was complete BS. First off, they lie to you and tell you that you are going to be working and event planning with the Diamondbacks and other sports teams. Not the case. I'm an incredibly hard worker and spent one of the days working 8-6:30 in the pouring rain and I made $20...When it came time to start slangin movie tickets by myself in the ghetto of Mesa, I said I'm done. I died a little inside every time I was called a solicitor. I think Rick Ross wrote his song "Stay Schemin" about FLI.

Look up vector marketing they sell a product called cutco (good Knife). They are basically the same business structure. You know not everything is a scam and not every business has a good shiny new office I mean look at Home Depot or even a Sears. Its just not everyone is a good seller and not everyone is confident at selling with just a commission. I know I'm not. That's why when I found out this was a commissioned based job I said thanks but no thanks didn't even go in for the interview. But that's me I like position where there is a guaranteed pay there is nothing wrong with that. I think most of you are running into judgement that this is a fraud because it doesn't pay its employees a "guaranteed" pay. Its no scam its just how they run business I don't agree with it.

Just got back from the cattle-call...um, I mean, INTERVIEW. Incredibly unsettling. Wish I hadnt shaved for this...completely joke. Question for the drones that support this "multi-million dollar company" - Why then, can they not afford a decent office? And, after being verbally reprimanded for asking about the position, I was told I'd be getting a second interview! YIPPEY! - I am PRAYING I get to work for a company that doesnt pay me anything unless i make them money first! Unfortunately, I have have a skill set, integrity, and a self esteem so I will not be slinging coupons or windshield repairs like a fiending crackhead. This company will continue to be successful, however, because there is no shortage of desperate degenerates eager to buy into this nonsense.
Trust your gut for once.

First off, you all are idiots. I currently work for the company. And love it. I make great money. I work commission based, and a bust my ###. With in 2 months I have progressed. I've gone through hard times at home, and the entire office stood by my side helping me as they could. I honestly could not ask for a better comp to work for. I enjoy and love me job.

Ok, All I have to say is that those of you who are against this company, you are only against them due to another persons' judgement and perception. You have not taken the time to try it out and see for yourself to make an educated decision or judgement about the company.
Smart Circle is a National Company that has made millions, and although it may look like pyramid scheme, you are wrong. It is like any other sales/marketing company and as long as you do the structure and business model right you will succeed. It only takes time. For the guy who wrote this complaint, he only took 5 days to see a BIG picture... 5 days is not near long enough to make a judgement on a million dollar company. In my opinion he needs to step back and look again. All the company is trying to do is teach you a business model that you can take and use in your own life and with anything that you do or sell for a lifetime. If you were taught to lie, and not read the fine print, then it was your own trainer who was leading you astray. Not the Company. There are other companies here in Phoenix and all over the nation that deal with Smart Circle. Here in PHX there is Impulse, Fiat Lux, and Axis. All dealing with clients that are worldwide and known. These clients trust Smart Circle more than any other company and so do Sam's Club, Walmart, Best Buy, and many other retailers that they house. Otherwise they would not let them in.
So try again and do your homework. Call up Larry Tanenbom if need be, he is the sole owner of Smart Circle. He will tell you the truth about this company, and why it works so well.

The company is garbage. You work 7:30am until 7pm going door to door with a ### sales pitch and get kicked out of most businesses by the management. They also don't tell you that the second interview involves driving out to some random place which is usually about 20 miles away and you try to get people to sign up for windshield replacements at the businesses and in parking lots. Luckily I only spent 2 weeks doing this and I have made lots in other commission positions but the products they are marketing are ###. They say that they represent the Diamondbacks and Rattlers sports teams, all you are doing is selling certificates for discount tickets to the games. Save yourself the time and ignore this company.

Hey all, my name is Pedro, I actually worked for this company for a total of 6 months not 5 days. I worked my way up to get promoted once and get sent on a business trip to Dallas Fort Worth for a weekend, all expenses paid at the DFW Hilton, for a top leaders meeting. Fiat Lux Enterprises isn’t even the company you should look up, Smart Circle owned by Larry Tannenbaum is what you should research. The company is very reputable and represents all NBA, MLB, and NHL teams also many local business' offering many other discount services across the country. As for the person who worked there for less than a week, you had three days of unpaid training, and you didn’t work for free you just sucked at sales. This job is strictly commission based, so no sales mean no money, simple as that. They didn’t benefit from having him walk around crying, they didn’t make any money either, if anything it was a loss, they could have had someone who makes sales go out there and do his job. I made good money the time that I was there without lying or being deceitful. I had a check every Friday after they started rolling in; I actually had enough to get myself a new truck and new wardrobe. As far as the private contractor agreement it’s not hidden they give you a copy to read over before you sign, they do this so you're self employed from the beginning of this process, your goal is to own your own office within 6mo to a year. I got half way through but got a better sales position with a different company. I don’t have anything negative to say about the company, the people are amazing it’s like a family, and there is alot of money to be made. Don’t let a bunch of people who suck at sales, and people who don’t understand that all businesses are pyramids bring you down. Last time I checked, Owners and CEO's make more than the employees. A majority of the time those employees are the ones doing the footwork to line the pockets of the higher ups. Sounds pyramidy to me but with commission no one tells me what my hours worth, you can have someone tell you your hours worth 7.50 I’m going to go make a sale and make 50 to 150 dollars in 5 min. I don’t know about you but walking around a Sam’s club (where people pay to be a member...) telling people I can get you 3 messages 3 facials and 3 tans for 30 bucks I think that sounds pretty easy, and they usually will by multiples because women don’t even like using the restroom alone, let alone a spa. If you have some sales experience or none and just have the gift of gab, give this career opportunity a try if you’re not working at the moment what it is going to hurt while you look for something else. Don’t let others negativity close your mind to opportunities or you'll never succeed.

Hello all Pedro Cruz is my name, I worked for the company for a total of 6 months, there is no scam going on. You literally are working on a comission based system, so no sales means no money, simple as that. So this guy who wants to say he worked there for 5 days and got no check, its because he sucked at sales and the first three days were unpaid training, not because they ripped him off. The 6 months i worked there i had a check every friday when i got back to the office. What does this guy think, they used him for his time it didn't benefit them at all either, they didnt get free work out of him if anything he ruined some of their territory because he went through it and didnt sell anything. If you have the sales gene or the gift of gab, give it a try dont let other peoples negative attitude & opinions stop you from trying a new carreer choice. Theres lots of money to be made, I made enough to buy new truck and pay off my other vehicle. The only reason i'm not still there because i got a better job offer.

DON"T waist your time! First they will call you to set up an appointment and give you a short 20min interview, and not really answer any question about what your job description is. Second they say we will review our apps and call you back for a second interview. EVERYONE gets a second interview. This is a sales tactic to make you think you made the cut to give you mentaly excitement to work hard and want to excel. But what it really does is make you not asking questions hoping you got the job. When I started to ask Shannon Rayburn questions on the phone before going to my first interview about this web site and what there company really was about she said all of these negitive posting were from one pissed off employee who had no sales abillity. I said 1. then how did he make it to the second interview if he had no sales abillity 2. Boy you guys must have really pissed him off to want to wright a comment every day for a year and a half? lol Then when I asked her what they sale she said she was only the phone answer person and was un-sure just come in to get your questions answered. I said "Shannon Rayburn your email you sent me says your the Administrator/ HR Director "She said " I just got that promotion", OK so you just got a huge promotion and you are the Director and you don't know the internal workings of your own company, she then said "my phone lines are light up like a christmas tree I have to go" I said "your all ready on the phone with someone your going to take there calls insted of mine cuz the questions are getting tuff", she had no answer then hung up on me...lol? And to the guy who said do you really think Sams Club a million dollor company would allow a scam company to sit outside there building? The answer is YES they don't care they are renting you a Kios space just like at the mall, pay the rent and you can sell what ever you want. LOOK if you want to stand out side all day trying to sell group packs of tickets and hotdog coupons to see AZ rattlers and D-backs, wile people are passing you as they run in and out of the store then this job is for you, and if you do happen to sell one how much profit is in it for you? You know there are a scam company when they say to you on the phone "WE are a sports advertising company that works with large companys like the AZ D-Backs, and the Rattlers, and the PHX Coyotes" I called all there of these companys and you have no affiliates with any of them. just because your selling 3rd party discounted tickets packs buy one get one does not mean you work with these large companys. Don't get sucked in thinking your working for a fortune 500 company when your really working for a guy who rents a Kios. I know when I go to the store and those pesky people out front try and get me to buy something I always just walk buy, unless their girlscout cookies then I stop.

AMAZING! thank you guys so much for the info. I know the people who post on here sticking up for this bs company are employees. I was asked about a year ago to go on a job interview with AXIS. i attended this little hole in the wall "office" and was basically told i could be in an upper management position within a year. I am over qualified for what they asked me to do. NOT ONCE did they exactly explain what the job was until my second interview. door to door window sales. I was shocked to say the least. If the company wont even describe your job over the phone, DONT DO IT! Thank god for this site because i had no idea that fiat lux was in cahoots with AXIS. Biggest joke ever.

I received calls and e-mails from this company yesterday and they asked to set up an interview tomorrow for event marketing position. It kind of seemed weird to me that they wanted to set up an interview right away. Now after reading all of your comments I not be attending the interview tomorrow and just stay away from this company

Wow, I cant believe all of this. I just got a call from both Fiat Lux and Axis Inc for interviews and told a friend of mine. She told me that her ex boyfriend had interviews with companies like this when he first moved out here, and it was a joke. I decided to go and check them out since I had already scheduled an interview with them both on Monday. After reading all of the Testimonials scattered all throughout the internet, I am absolutely not attending either interview. I am glad that I found this out before wasting my time, and gas to go all the way out there. I still don't understand why these companies are able to promote on all of these job search sites. Also, what type of people do they have working for them? It's so fishy. Thanks to all of you who posted your experiences for people like me to come across and prevent the same cycle from happening.

WOW! I just attended my first interview with this company and for some reason got a wierd feeling about them. Even though the interview went well and the lady seemed very professional and promoted the job to very fun and not just a j.o.b but a CAREER i felt alittle drawn and mesmerized by how convincing she was. Even though I wanted this to be true my gut feeling told me to check them out on the net and believe it or not I never check businesses out. I guess im gulable but this time something told me to check them out on the site for better business beaur and what i discovered is that they are not accredited by BBB. I thought is was quit odd and creepy how the woman basically called my phone many times to see if i would attend the interview. (generally hiring agency dont check up to see if your coming. ususally give you a chance and if you dont show go on to another applicant) Damn I guess my gut was right... WHISHFUL THINKING... Oh ya i will not be attending the second interview!

Okay, so I recently went on an interview for this company and was called back for a second interview. What the complaint says about this company is pretty much spot-on. I shadowed one of the sales reps for a day and not only was her car exterior filthy, but she had no shame cutting off people who weren't going to buy the product she was selling. This isn't a challenge of a job; it's seriously for the challenged...and I don't care how much they sell. STAY AWAY.

Wow. I'm typically a very observant person and I tend to reserve judgment before I get the facts. And boy am I glad I did. I'm always leery of these kinds of comments so when I applied and got the call, everything seemed fine so I agreed to a time for my interview.
First observation/comment: they were very straightforward with me. There are several positions, obviously, as any company does, with different duties/tasks/responsibilities, pay structures, etc. I was told the commission positions were way more challenging, but had more growth opportunities. The salaried/hourly positions were less challenging, and therefore had less opportunity to grow. I like challenges, I don't mind commission, so I chose to go down that path in my interview. Simple.
Second observation/comment: all my questions were answered., i.e. no "shadiness." I believed everything at face value. I even asked about "Phoenixconsumer's" comment on this board. And I got what I totally believe to be the real story. Apparently it's a young kid by the name of R. Peters (I'm withholding his name because I think it's the right thing to do) who CHOSE the sales side of the company, supposedly said he was good with people, failed to do well inside of a Sam's Club, disappeared and didn't report to work one day (which in my book is cause for immediate termination), was gone for several days without returning phone calls, and then expects to get a check. Well, I've run a business before, which tanked in this economy like a lot of people experienced. I have no tolerance for that kind of employee lackadaisical attitude either.
So a twenty-something comes and blogs or rants on a site like this, and everyone without a mind of their own believes him. Luckily, I'm not in my twenties (37 thank you very much), and I've learned how to make my own decisions in life.
Anyways, I tell them that they should file a lawsuit for slander/libel or press charges since one of my best friends is in law, and apparently that's already been in the works. Phoenixconsumer, if he's truly in his twenty-somethings, probably doesn't have the bank to go to court for this since he failed to sell in a Sam's Club, lol. He ought to just delete this whole thread and move on with his life and save himself some grief, but that's just me.
I just get so angry that the internet makes people so gullible these days. Angry enough to register for this site and post what's turned out to be a pretty long comment.
Third observation/comment: I haven't received a callback yet for another interview, which is fine, but I'll keep anyone who's reading this forsaken site once I know anything more. Be smart people. Don't bite off more than you can chew. Know yourself, etc, etc, etc.
That's my 2 cents.
Cheers.

Wow! Really? Another one of these companies! Shoot... I was just contacted by them today, and looking forward to our interview later this week. Shannon Rayburn, Administrator/Hr, said the company was hiring for several positions: Account Management, Sales and marketing, Event Coordinators, and Customer Service. I am interested in working hard, and getting paid for it...I'm going to go in for the interview and see if they are really hiring for anything other than migrant workers pay...I'm a little cautious, because its in a very "low rent" office park:( My gut tells me to STAY AWAY! Should be very interesting...I'll let you know:)

The last comment was 175 days ago. Where did Steene end up? 100% commission is hard at first but can be very rewarding in the end, depends on business commission setup. As far as pyramid scheme goes, one, a MLM company is not a pyramid scheme (not legal), two, this is not a MLM.
I am thinking of going to a to check this out, will let you know what I find. Worried about Steene though, did the scheme eat her up?

I'd like to point out a few things that anyone who takes the time to read the comments on this site should keep in mind as they are reading. To begin with, please consider the sources. All of the disparaging remarks posted are, without exception, authored by people who are of less than average intelligence. It is apparent in the way they spell and fail to punctuate; not to mention that some of them seem to have a hard time stringing two coherent sentences together. The next issue that I have is that one of the comments mentioned "standing in a Sam's Club...". If Fiat Lux is so terrible and crooked, then why would a reputable company like Sam's Club choose to do business with them? The same could be asked of Costco. These are multi-billion dollar companies! To believe that they could be duped or tricked into having a business relationship with some crooked, shady company is ridiculous! The person who posted the comment about commission being just that- commission, hit the nail on the head. Finally, the things said by Jacob should summarily dismissed by all. His motivation for mud slinging becomes crystal clear as you read the final sentence. In the business world, any company would be considered low down and dirty if the best way they could drum up business for themselves was to slander their competitors. To him I say- good luck hiring all those 'collage' students!

Unfortunately, there are too many of these in a bad economy. I was contacted, but I have never applied for a job with them. I check out businesses at the BBB, Manta, and I also check to see that they have a valid license to operate a business in this state. A little advice for all the newbies out there; Check them out, before you go to an interview! If you walk into the so-called office, for an interview and you are lead to a group of people waiting for the speaker to enter, run, they just want money. Remember, it doesn't feel right, and you need to trust your gut feelings. I run when supposedly reputable high-end companies have an office setup in a dive of a neighborhood. I also, look out for the ones that use a reputable companies name. Bottom line, trust your instincts. No job is worth your life, and some things the scammers ask you to do, could put you in harms way.

This brother company is a part of smart-circle International. They often have to change there business names and move to different cities every 6 months to deceive people. Smart-circle international has been around for 15 years. They have been brain washing good people to join there permiad scam. I know i work for this company in my teens i know all about there dirty little secerts. I'am advising people not to every waste there time with this phony opportunity its a waste of time. They like to target collage stundents for there so called entry-level position, its just a fancy way to put face-to-face advertising. They are from the east coast, you can find them on /link removed/ to find out more about this company and its brother company's as well. If your looking for a real opportunity with a marketing/advertising company that is honest and has realistic income figures call Jacob Gonzales with Branchmarketinginc.com [protected] where dreams really can come true, better for business.

Here is the thing; This to me does not sound like a to-good-to-be-true place to me. The reason I say this is because they tell you that you are not getting paid hourly up front. If you were to be looking for that then you would know right away. Also, commission is commission. And $600 a week is way less than I was making in other sales jobs. That's why I say It's not to-good-to-be-true. So Far seems real. I asked lots of questions and they had answers that made sense. Like if you weren't making sales doing one thing than you could move on to another. You could take less than 3 training days if you knew your stuff. It's not that hard if you have any back round at all in sales. There is also options to make CASH DAILY. It's is so interesting to me that I will start a blog about my experience with in the company. I will post it here once I get it set up

I had my preliminary interview. It went well, however I am more than qualified for their positions, so it didn't surprise me. I have never experienced any other state like Arizona. Why do the companies here insist on throwing perfectly good sales people under a bus! It is incredibly tiresome. Anyway I will be attending the "2nd interview" witch I do believe it's something like 6 hours long. If I am not getting paid for training I will be sure to let everyone know what happens. I still want to believe that their is some good in the sales world.

I am wondering if there is more information available about this company and the jobs they are posting. I found their information on Jobing and I just received an email from them that they would like to bring me in for an interview. Are there any more stories about this company to prove that I shouldn't go?

Reading this makes me feel happy i didn't join them after been accepted to work for them. Anyway gj on informing folks about these scammers, o and i wonder y jobing.com lets these people post their jobs.
