As former patient of this clinic and its Drs and clinical staff, I would like to warn anyone who is considering to go to this clinic for fertility treatment to be very careful and think about your options and long and hard before you decide to entrust your treatment at the hands of FCC.
My husband and I were recommended donor egg to achieve pregnancy and parenthood and went to FCC based on reviews and the cost of IVF treatment for under $10k. Advertisement by this clinic and the agencies that refer them are very slick and too good to be true. Don't let the fancy pics and glowing testimonials fool you. They have no statistics of how many ivf cycle they do per year, how many live birth rates, and basic information on what they do for you in terms of treatment is provided on their website.
In our case, we were told to deposit $ money to secure a donor and go through lengthy tests for both my self and my husband. We did all of this at our local clinic and paid the deposit. This is when the red flags started to rise.
First, there was sheer incompetence on the part of the clinic and staff to explain the protocol to me as it made no sense. Unclear when I would start the simple birth control pills and when I would end and when other meds would start and etc. It was clear from our interaction with the clinic that they didn't know what they were doing and they seemed confused and unable to answer our questions based on their own treatment plans. Another red flag.
Second, we are told few days before our departure that the donor is not responding to meds so you will be staying an extra week in Cancun. This means extra cost for the hotel, flight, food, and time off work. Another red flag. In hindsight, we should have cancelled the whole thing but we still hope so we went. Wish we never did!
Third, we arrive at the clinic, we only had five minutes with the so-called Dr. He never talked to us about the plan, success, risks, or any aspects of the treatment but were sent to the front of the clinic to make the remaining payment in US dollars and told to come back the next time for the donor egg retrieval and my husband semen sample. All told everything went well with both. The egg donor produce high numbers of eggs of good quality or matured and the semen sample was combined to fertilize the retrieved eggs. We were told that the donor has been screened and she was healthy and had normal chromosomes and etc.
Fourth, the next day we were told the eggs and the sperm fertilized and the following day, we are told all eggs have died. This was devastating to us. We were told the quality of the door egg and should try another donor. We were not satisfied with the answers given by the Drs and pressed for more. It became clear that their stories kept changing from genetics to eggs to we don't know. We had a second opinion and been told either the lab is suboptimal or the donor was not properly stimulated.
We have not been given an appropriate consultation, treatment nor straight answers by the Drs when we asked questions. We would not under any circumstances recommend FCC to any prospective patients as their live birth rate nor number of cycles nor their lab conditions or accreditation are done independently done as they do in the USA.
Our message to those thinking of going to FCC is to save yourself the heart break, let down, money and efforts and try so many great clinics before you go to this clinic please! It is not worth it and the clinic is not as competent as it is made to look. You will be glad you didn't go to this clinic. There so many other things we went through at this clinic we hope other can learn from us.

Wonderful experience with this clinic. One of the first patients when it opened.. First try I had a Singleton then went back for FET pregnant but miscarriage. Then went back on the guarantee for another FET guess what triplets.
The staff has been nothing but supportive, honest and good communication with myself and doctor in Canada..
This clinic gave me hope when I was told by Fertility clinics in Canada to give up..

My name is Pablo Bonomini and I am Controller of Advanced Fertility Center Cancun. I want to clarify that the ill-intentioned comment against our clinic is due to an inconformity with our clinic because of professional incompatibility; the lady who writes it, who initially posted in her real name “Hélenè Chauvin” and now changed her name, is the wife of an employee of the clinic who has been disengaged for professional reasons; after 3 months in trial period he was finally let go, as he did not fulfilled the excellence required by our clinic. This lady has never been treated by our physicians of our clinic and her only goal is to discredit us. Dear Hélenè, I hereby request that you refrain from continuing to issue defamation and slander
comments, at the risk of being sued. We leave here an open contact number (+[protected]) and email [protected]@advancedfertilitycentercancun.com if you require additional information or would like to speak to our legal department. Hi everyone, I am reading all these bad experiences and unfortunately I am not surprised at all. How terrible. My partner is a qualified doctor specialized in fertility. I am french and we come from Mexico city where he used to work with the best doctors there. Fertility Center Cancun asked him to work with them, they were very insisting, we though it could be a great experience to move in Quintana Roo and experience a new lifestyle. He himself was excited about the offer and happy to leave the big city although we were taking a risk to leave things behind.
They just asked him to quit without giving them any reason after not even 3 months working there. It was not surprising really as he didn't agree with there way of working (VERY disorganized) and he would report me from the beginning of his experience that there was this woman who is a doctor but not specialized at all (Azul) who would change the prescription for his patients in his back! The ONLY reason being either to sell more drugs, and mostly to make sure that the patient would not go see another clinic so she would change the prescription to make sure the protocole would start earlier. Which is obvioulsy dangerous for the health's patient and a way to treat women and patients like cash cows! My partner was in shock and very upset obviously about it. And he would say it loud. We eventually understand that she was working closely with the sellers, which of course explains the reason behind it all...

Also, the administrator used to work in a bank before. She doesn't say "patients" but "clients"... It tells everything obviously.
I could tell much more but we won't spend more time and energy fighting with people with no education, no respect, and no elegance whatsoever. I will however finish this message to say that the director of the clinic (who associated himself with big financiers in Russia and Japon $$$$) his name being Dr. Jose Gaytan didn't even have the balls to talk to my partner when "they" decided to fire him. Again it is better we are not in contact with these people any more but... really, not even the balls to have at least one conversation with your employee ? They had to ask a man (who knows who he is and what he is really doing in this clinic?) to tell him "the bad news"... to the dirty job.

Good luck to all of you.

Hello Jane,
Thanks for sharing! I can see the corruption on many levels in all kind of country and Mexico is high on the list. I am finished my second IVF circle in Canada and awaiting my results. However,
I would consider a third IVF journey if it is needed, but not in Canada. Also, IVF is a huge money maschine without any compassion-feels like assembly line work to my husband and me, sadly. You are an insider in the industry and I was wondering if there is a IVF clinic you would go to?
Thank you for your time.
All the best,
Daniela

We had a wonderful experience with this clinic. We have a 2 year old only because of them. Bad cycles happen everywhere. To the person complaining that the donor wasn't responding to meds on her time line is crazy. They even tell you to keep your dates open for this very reason! That is far from a "red flag".

Their English is bad...yea well you did go to Mexico by choice. I suppose they should take some English courses to accommodate you better?

We had such a different experience almost two years ago. I adored my patient care coordinator. We never got the feeling that they just wanted money. The process was very smooth and we had a great experience. Never did anyone deny me the opportunity to speak to the doctor nor did they stop answering questions. and we did a lot of research about international ivf before deciding on FCC. We've been blessed with twin boys and couldn't be happier. I"m sorry that all of you had bad experiences. i'm really shocked.

I wouldn’t recommend FCC OR Irega to anyone. I have long story to share from my egg donor cycles at the both clinics. For more info, my email id shaano.malik@yahoo.com

My husband and I also had a very bad donor ivf experience in 2015. The donor we picked was not new, she had 1 supposed positive outcome (clinical pregnancy..but they don´t say live birth) and one negative, we chose her out of 18 because of similar characteristics but also at least she was not new, like the other 10 or 12. We sent them all our tests, including results from my husband sample, wich was low on morphology but not bad (exactly 4% in Krugger which is the limit) and we also had a girl (natural pregnancy with my husband, no problem first try), but this is secondary infertility and was advise donor egg, for a better outcome, due to my age (42 at that time)...no fibroids, no thyroid problems, uterus perfect, everything checked. We were supposed to have 14 mature eggs warrantied, they retrieved 15 but only 11 mature as the report, not bad, but not 14 right? lining perfect started meds for my FET they told us for sure in 5 days (blastocyst stage)..keep asking report on the 3rd day from 8.30am to 1pm...Dr.Azul (very bad communication, don´t think she still works there) suddenly called us at almost 2 pm that WE needed to be at the clinic at 3.30 they will explain in person. When we arrived, the gave us the "surprise report" with only 4 embies (one 6 cell, 2 5 cell and 1 4 cell), of course terrible outcome!, they said to transfer 2 or 3, the "best ones", I said, but they stalled their growing already, not even there was an 8 cell or 7 cell wich is supposed to be the embryo at a 3 DAY, we insisted there most have been a problem in the lab with the culture or something with the quality of the donor eggs, and they insisted I should do the transfer..and pay even in advance for the freezing of the remaining one or 2 bad ones...We were so sad so nervous...and of course it didn´t work and the transfer..shouldn´t trust them..they answer for not working was "your husband sample is very bad, suggested donor " whwat? they did ICSI in all of them, never suggested IMSI or PICSI..where where my 5 blastocysts that the faboluos coordinator said was "the avarage" they get? never saw Dr.Gaytan...they keep opening clinics as if they were convenience stores! dont trust them...never apologized to us, never offered other donor and discount ivf...just like that! robers!

My husband and I had 2 failed IVF cycles in the United States and one failed donor at irega Cancun. They did not respond after I had a miscarriage and we only asked when could we try again. We then went to FCC. We received our medication protocol and always had prompt responses. The only thing that happened was that the donor was not responding well but they had us booked for enough time to have the transfer without changing plans. One fresh transfer of 3 was successful and then 15 months later I had a transfer of my last two frozen and it was successful. I have 2 very healthy toddlers. I am sorry there were so many problems with others.

I also had a good experience. We traveled to Mexico from Oregon. Everything went pretty smooth and Our donor produced 18 eggs. we ended up with 5 perfect embryos. We implanted 2 and froze 3. We have beautiful healthy 18 mo old twin boys thanks to fcc. I'm so sorry others didn't have the amazing experience we had.

Hi. We are in the process of legal action against the clinic as they destroyed one of our embryo on transfer to a second clinic. We received pics of the destroyed embryos, so we are just awaiting the outcome of the investigation by Health Authorities. We were aware of over 10 couples that have gone to FCC. We are not aware of how many IVF attempts each couple had, but only 2 made it to be successful. FCC a good salesmen, but nothing else.

The second clinic, CEFAM started out better, in communication, but we are still unsuccessful and have given up. CEFAM have failed to pay back money we paid in advanced for procedures that did not happen. We are still waiting for return of $$, after months of requests. Personally would not go back to Mexico, they are either robbers or you do not know exactly how professional they are at there work. When we approached both clinics, they both agued between themselves who destroyed the embryo. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but stay away from them.

Hi Jeremy. I just was looking at the internet trying to find references about the clinic but I did not find anything until your case. I went to FCC and started a FIV procedure. We felt very disappointed about the clinic since we receive always a mistreatment during the process. They did not explain us all the procedures according to our diagnosis and they push us to start the treatment as fast as possible. At the end the treatment failed. So we are thinking to start a legal process against it but we don’t know if there are other cases that help us to join efforts. Probably you can tell us who lawyer are you talking with and if it is located in Cancun or US? Thanks a lot.

I agree. There was sheer incompetence on the part of the clinic. Never again. They have no idea about customer service. We wasted some much money with them, until we finally moved to another clinic. OMG. what a refreshing change. We got informed every step of the way.

Have you tried clinics in Cd Juarez. I am going there next. They are super attentive and the facility is elegant. I like the clinic in Juarez because it’s 20 minutes from the border and you can stay in Texas and just drive or Uber there for appointments. My contact is Emma at Angeles hospital. Tell her Patriciadiaz sent you. I had easy sperm transfer without paying a million dollars for shipping. It’s a wonderful clinic.
