My wife and I decided to buy our own propane tank, and not use the one that we were renting from Ferrellgas. Because we switched propane companies, Ferrellgas padlocked the tank to prevent other companies from filling it. Ferrellgas charged us $150 to remove the old tank. We are in the process of filing complaints with various government agencies. We believe that this charge is fraudulent under California Civic Code section 2080 et seq, covering property left behind on an owner's real estate.

Same here, they have ripped me off so bad, I filed report with state police and the County Prosecutors office.

They new my tank was leaking and never fixed it, just kept hitting me for $800 every couple weeks.
Oh they are professional scammers, but guess what. I am going all the way to the supreme court if I have to.

I have video/audio surveillance on my property. I have them dead to rights.
They were dropped from the Stock Exchange recently, and they are going down in flames hard. Its no wonder with 8139 filed complaints with the BBB.

Maybe they should be in politics instead of consumables, for all the lying and stealing they do.

Ferrellgas co is a ripoff company. Nearly every other company charges less for propane. Had their tank for over 2 years and they tried charging me 3.95 a gallon when everyone else was charging 2.90 . Like any good consumer I called and told them to pick up their tank. They stated that it would cost $ 110 to pick up their tank... I am sending them a 48 hour notice and will make it as difficult as possible for them. They are a sham. Unite and tell your friends not to use them.

If you have a similar problem, and they won't come to pick up the tank, send them a certified letter telling them that they have 48 hours from receipt of the letter to pick up the tank, and that after that, they will be charged $10 per day storage, and that you will be happy to take them to small claims court to collect if necessary...

Do like we did: drag it out into the street and tell them that their property is now on a public right of way. Hell, it's not your tank and sometimes you have to think outside of the box in order to light a fire under someone's lazy ###.

I think my parents are about to experience the same situation as you...Upon an initial conversation, my mother was told there would be an $89/tank pick up charge...(that's after doing business w/ them for 20+ years). Then my father called to "officially" discontinue service and to please pick up the tanks with the response from another company rep said they couldn't say when they would come and get them...just they would come and get them. Is there a way that my folks would be able to pursue the same complaint process as you...as in "strength in numbers"? Any guidance would be appreciated...as I can see this might become ugly soon.
