When non-custodial parents are ordered to pay child support, they are not being given the Federal Child Support Enforcement Handbook for Non-Custodial Parents. This handbook informs them of their rights to free legal representation to modify a support order, and about CSE grants to states for programs to enforce access rights to the children, without hiring an attorney. As a result, many fall into arrears in child support when they get laid off, because they think they need to hire an attorney. Further, they don't know what to do about being denied access to the children, without paying an attorney.

Child support is horribly unfair to fathers. Nobody will stick up for them or their rights. You guys should contact Glenn Sacks. He is a radio personality who has made it his mission to help so called "dead-beat dads."

My child's father was arrested for being unable to pay child support because he has been unable to find a job and when he is working he is paying more than half of his paycheck to child support. No one seems to be concerned about the child within his household. We were unable to make it together for this reason and now live separately. He had to move 700 miles away to s.c. his home state and we moved into government assisted apartments.I am at my wits end on this subject i don't know what to do anymore, it is pretty sad my baby has to go without her dad or live in the streets to be with him and to top it off now the state of Illinois wants to start hassling him about child support even though he was here taking care of her but had to move on so we could have a decent roof over our heads it is a lose lose situation that gets grimmer with each passing day.
