I have a room air conditioner that I purchased on August 23, 2005 that was used for approximately 4 weeks last summer before I stored it for the winter. I re-installed it in June and it does not work. When I called the customer service number and when I got on line to get warrantee service, I found that Fedders has no service center to cover the Boston, Massachusetts metropolitan area. I have made 4 phone calls (to the Philippines, it turns out) and written 3 e-mails. All I've gotten are 2 "apologetic" e-mails from Fedders asking for the same information and telling me they are determining whether I am eligible for warrantee service. This has been going on since early June and it is now mid-July and very hot and humid in Boston! I am sick of waiting for them while they seem to be waiting for my warrantee to run out. This is despicable service and I would advise anyone in Massachusetts not to buy anything made by the Fedders Corporation!
