FareDepot Fraud

My wife and I booked a trip to Greece in February 2021 for a trip in August 2021. A couple months after we booked the trip, my wife found out she was pregnant. Her doctor told her not to fly because of new spikes in COVID. We reached out to have our flight cancelled hoping to get credit or a refund. They said we would only be able to use a voucher through February 2021. Our baby will be 2 months old at that time. How are we suppose to book travel in that short amount of time? Usually it is a year we can use for the voucher. The people we spoke with were so rude and gave us so much unnecessary stress because we lost out on so much money. Not only did this occur but they cancelled my in laws flight instead of ours. They told my in laws that in order to get there money back, they needed to pay for a whole new ticket. The whole ordeal had cost our family $4500 to get this problem "solved." This was by far the worst experience we have had. We travel a lot and airlines have always accommodated to our needs. Fare depot seems like a bunch of scam artists!

FareDepot Overcharge and refund for the return ticket is not received

I booked my round trip New York - Buenos Aires in Feb 2020. Faredepot overcharged me 100 USD and despite several email exchanges, in which they lied constantly, they did not refund the overcharge. Whenever I wrote to them or call them, they kept lying, saying that the cheque is on the way but it never arrived. Soon after my arrival to Argentina, the airline cancelled the returning flight and announced that it will refund a part of the ticket and I need to get my refund via the booking agency. I have exchanged over 70 emails in the last 5 months with Faredepot and each time they put the blame on the airline and did nothing to refund my ticket. I am requesting 100 USD overcharge that was made when I first booked my ticket + the second part of my return flight, which has been cancelled by the airline following to global pandemic lockdown.

FareDepot overcharged on flights

Hi,

I made a booking with FareDepot on January 3rd 2020. I bought flights from Albuquerque to Auckland for USD $1, 155.69. When the charge came through on my credit card, it was charged USD$1, 309.48, which is an over charge of USD$153.79. I phoned Faredepot and they said they would refund me the difference by cheque which has not happened. This is a total scam. I have read several other reviews on this company and they have done the same thing many times before. I have used sky scanner for years and always trusted your website. It is an embarrassment to Sky Scanner to be associated with FareDepot.

FareDepot unprofessional, unethical behavoir

I booked tickets for Nairobi on Sept 11, got my confirmation than they cancelled the booking without providing a reason on Sept 13. I called them to enquire and they told me that they had called me and spoke with my (which is a total lie) telling me the ticket price had increased after reservation and before ticketing and that I needed to pay more. No one called or emailed to communicate this. So when I called to ask why they cancelled, the prices had changed back and they said they could issue the tickets. yet a quick search on line priced the exact same flights at much lower.

I asked them why they are charging more now than what is on line but they said they could only honor the original price of the booking.

I suggest you take your business elsewhere

FareDepot flight rejected/at airport

On November the 20th of 2017 I had purchased 4 tickets from FareDepot to travel to Pakistan from JFK airport. My Flight was supposed to be at 2:00pm and I arrived to the airport few mins before 1:00pm and they had closed the gates and wouldn't allow me to check in and said that I had to confirm my flight with fareDepot to change it to a flight at a later time, but at the same time we did arrive early and we should have been allowed to check in and catch that flight at that time. We still called the agency and they would change the ticket they said we would have to pay them more money or we would be returned half of what we payed for the tickets. Which wasn't our fault and we are demanding them to give us a full return due to how much money they caused us to waste. When we bought their tickets they never told us that the the gates close an hour early before flight... That is also a reason to why we are not at fault. We have bought ticket before online and had good business with them and for some reason this time fareDepot has committed fraud and cheated us. For them to be allowed to say it is out fault they should have put a warning on tickets they sell...due to this incident it caused us to buy ticket from Qatar to get to our destination on time and not miss important events. We are surely never going to do business with fareDepot until they give us a full amount return and give us our compensation

FareDepot service

Hi

I have purchased a flight from this agency. It has been a nightmare to deal with this company from the start, they are so misleading. First they said they couldn't charge the credit card, then sent an authorization form. Within 10 minutes of sending that form back to the agency, I received an email advising that the fare has gone up by almost $300.. After talking to their customer service, they confirmed that the ticket has been issued at the original price offered. However they charged me $649.51 more than the original price without any notice after confirming the ticket will be at original price..

This is a financial scam and trying to rob customers.. We want our money back straightaway.

FareDepot Misleading/misinformed staff

I had to cancel a premium economy flight from Australia to New York and was assured a flight credit would be issued.
Several calls, and several subsequent flights later where credit could have been applied, I am now told that it is outside the 12 month period and they can't do anything about it!
I flew twice inside that 12 month period that could get no answers each time, now its my fault apparently the initial booking is too old.
I suspect they onsold that credit from the airline to another customer and why they can't do anything about it.

FareDepot prices

While booking 2 tickets from Detroit to Frankfurt they offered prices were great and there was a note that airline fees etc might apply. However, no where could I see how much the fees are going to be. Only after purchasing the tickets did I receive the amount for fees and they were high. I think this practice should be illegal and companies like this should be required to state the full amount to be paid prior to purchases. Other countries do have this requirement ! so be very careful using this site.
In addition, I had to call the airline to find out whether or not I had a flight as the confirmation number given by faredepot did not result in any flight information.
Very annoying indeed!

FareDepot fraudulent company

I booked a flight via FareDepot, but my flight was cancelled by the airlines. I contacted FareDepot customer service and asked for a refund, but they still hasn't given me my money back! They said that I need to talk about this with the airlines, but airlines has nothing to do with this! These thieves owe me over $3000 and refusing to refund me. Now they are just ignoring me and when I call them they don't answer as they know my number. I've called them about 50 times to resolve this issue, but still nothing! I have no idea what to do and how to get my money back. This company is a complete scam! Please save your money and avoid this company at all costs!

FareDepot they owe me $5000!!!

My flight was cancelled by the airlines who agreed to give a refund on the whole ticket but Faredepot still hasn't given me my money back! They owe me $4644 and are refusing to pay me back. Their excuse is that the airlines hasn't agreed to pay them back which a complete lie. I didn't use any part of my ticket and I don't have my money back yet. When I call them they don't answer as they know my number. If I call from a different number they answer because they don't know that it's me. Unacceptable customer service – I’ve called them about 30 times to resolve this issue. The company is a fraud because they steal your money. I will continue to report them until I get my money back! Please save your hard earned money and don't use this company.

FareDepot ticket was cancelled without a reason

I booked a ticked and few days later called the Airline just to make sure everything was fine. Airline representative told that my ticket was cancelled by FareDepot. They actually never informed me about that, so I was lucky that I've decided to check if everything was ok. I contacted FareDepor and asked for a refund, but they offered me only a coupon code for $50. That coupon was not working, so they gave me another one. But then I received a call from my back and was told that FareDepot charged my card again. They cancelled my flight, then gave me a useless coupon and charged me again! These people are complete scammers! Don't deal with FareDepot, this company will only cause problems.

FareDepot worst customer experience of my life

Had the WORST customer service of my life with FareDepot, we tried to change a date within 24 hrs of booking due to a family situation and were asked to wait all day to hear back from a representative, only to find out that the flights that had been available in the morning were no longer available and that we'd have to completely change our travel day AND pay upwards of $800. We will never use this service again and we can't believe how badly our customer services issues were handled, we were hung up on three times, yelled at and ignored when we asked to speak to a supervisor, and were then ignored further when we tried to reach someone about canceling our reservation entirely. We will NEVER use this service again and neither should you. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

FareDepot they haven't returned money, which they took in secure purposes

I booked hotel and tickets through the company www.faredepot.com. I was really shocked, when they charged me for some unknown sum. It turned out that it was in secure purposes. Ok, I confirmed my personal info and my tickets, but they haven’t returned this sum. I already sent couple of emails and asked about it, but they told to wait and that’s all. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Can you provide any good piece of advice?

FareDepot fraud

I ordered ticket to boston from the website www. Faredepot.com. The website is real scam, because they charged me immediately and took money for the hotel and car rental, which i haven’t needed, but they didn’t send any info about my tickets. When i called to their customer services, the agent told me to call to my credit card company and open dispute. No explanation, no excuses. They are scammers and horrible people. Share this info and post comments about your things wit them.

Stay away! Worst experience ever with a travel company. Purchased a ticket 6 months ahead of time only to show up to the airport with no record of my ticket. Called FareDepot.com and they said they cancelled my reservation (first I had heard of it) because they tried to send me an (singular) email that I NEVER received. No other contact was attempted and it left me stranded. Finally was able to secure a ticket for an extra $1000 and a day delay in my travel. Spent the night on the floor of the airport. Swell.

When talking to them (guy was hard to understand with a thick Indian accent) he was useless. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told he was "in a meeting and would call me back." I will give you one guess how that worked out.

I would give them 0 stars if I could.

on April 24 2016 i purchase a flight ticket to natal Brazil on line from FAREDepot.COM, on the amount of $587.71, at the day of the flight, august 13 2016 at checking baggage and ticket counter i got a surprised information that my plane ticket was cancel, . after calling over 3 hours back and forward the airline main office and the travel agency, no one can't give me an explanation why my flight was cancel, i lost the flight, them. i was told i will get full refund, but never happen. I'm about to file a dispute in small claims court, against faredepot.com, stay away they are scam

This company is ###. Do not ever even try it.
I used to book my friend visa account to buy ticket. It took 5 days to find out that his TD bank visa account charges 3 times by 1070$ each
They requests initially provide them signed form with account information and address on it.
We figure out that they sold out all his personal information to somebody else from Germany.
Be aware of this scammers. They wiere never accepted it is their false and they leaked all private information. Be aware of faredepot new scam

My experience with FareDepot has been full of frustration and I am still super frustrated. The airline I purchased my tickets from went bankrupt and I reached out to FareDepot, since the airline agent told me I needed to request the refund through the third party airfare seller, which was FareDepot. So, I did.

I called their general customer service number several times and no one picked up the phone. I decided to send an email to their sales department. The very first email from them made me doubt their professionalism because it was full of grammar mistakes, such as wrong punctuation, different fonts all over the place, and wrong word order in their sentences. I had a feeling that it was not a real person on the other end, but a robot. Another weird thing about their email communication is that they keep putting the same "Thank you for booking with FareDepot.com. We look forward to assisting you" statement in the beginning of each email as if they take pride in what they do, but they have not been of any help/assistance so far!

My initial set of emails with the refund request went out in the beginning of November, in fact, on November 3rd, 2015. Here is what they said (verbatim): "Your ticket status is showning refunded money will be back on your credit card in you up coming statements, " I waited for a whole month and emailed them again in the beginning of December, saying I never received the refund. They kept saying again that the money had already been refunded. I asked them a simple question about what the refund transaction date was according to their records, and I was amazed how much they tried to avoid answering this question by changing the topic.I intentionally kept asking what the date was of the refund if it had been already processed and I never received the response.I called my bank and they said there was no pending transaction either.

Then, I had to call them again today, December 2nd, 2015, and guess what, a lady with a heavy accent picked up the phone! She said she would check on my refund. It seemed like she was full of hesitation and had no idea what she was communicating to me because she could not answer any of my questions. It took her literally an hour since she kept putting me on hold every 10 minutes and all in vain. Finally, she stated that my refund had NOT been processed yet (wow) and that she would check why. That pretty much means that all 7 previous emails from FareDepot were not providing accurate information.

This is very sad and disappointing and I am not sure if I will be able to see my money, BUT what I know for sure, I will not give up and go till the end to resolve this issue with FareDepot. I have a couple of plans in my mind how I can get my refund back, hopefully I will not have to go that route.

i wished i did the review research before buying the ticket with them! faredepot is a scam! i had 2 booking with them. once u book, they will say the fare is raised, so they will make u accept the fare or u dont get ur refund (penalty), so i accepted the fare they offered, and later on i found out the fare is cheaper than what they offered me. (bcz the transaction on my creditcard account billed by the airline company is shown cheaper). this being said, they got me with 100$ more (booked initially 2215$, new offer by faredepot 2426$, billed by airlaine 2326$ ), and my husband 120$ (faredepot 1300$ bill by airline 1180$)
on top of this, it took me 2 days no stopping phone calls with them, bcuz they dont give me confirmation or somewhat, i have to call to make sure whether me or my husband's ticket is okay or not. Once they said my credit card got declined, so i dont get to book, and i will be charged with penalty if i cancelled everything! then u want to book, they will say the fare is raised. without saying they put me ALWAYS on hold, and come up with more excuses and different offer. (Me: u just offer me a such fare before u put me on hold, now u r saying something completely different! Faredepot: i know, but thats the way it is! i can no longer offert u this!) . if this is not a scam, what is ths?! i dont know what kind of human being owns this company. ill say GO TO HELL! this is my first time purchasing ticket online, i learned my lesson! i hope i can save anyone who would want to book with this company!

This is a fraud company which attracts you showing cheap prices and traps you if by any chance you need to reschedule your trip. Worst experience which made me decide never to go with these less known greedy sites (with zero customer ethics) even if they offer lower prices.

On Aug 4th 2014, I purchased two air tickets in Etihad airlines through faredepot for me and my wife to fly from LA to Trivandrum and back. The journey was planned on December and due to some unforeseen events, I had to postpone the trip by a week. I approached Faredepot first to get this rescheduled, but they quoted a change fee+ penalty that was more that a fresh ticket's to-and-fro flight charges available for Etihad at the same time. This was completely unacceptable to me and I checked with them what would be my refund if I cancel the tickets. They informed that I would have zero refund if I cancel this ! They were mentioning that the money has gone to Etihad and not to them and to contact Etihad for any refund request. When I called up Etihad, they told that since I booked through faredepot, they are helpless and I have to go through faredepot to get any refund.

Whole of Nov 2014, I have been in discussion with their customer service to figure out a solution. Two instances worth mentioning here. At one point, I asked the customer care rep to escalate the call and place me in call with a customer service manager. He was reluctant. I told that I am not going to disconnect the call unless I get to speak with a higher official. They muted my line and I was on hold for 20 mins and finally they disconnected the call. Initially when I asked them if they could change just one person's departure date, they told that it is not possible. But after two weeks when I was getting frustrated (and by that time the ticket cost got higher) they told that they can do it and denied it completely that they told it the other way initially.

Their excuse is that the contract is between the payer and airlines and they cannot do much on this. This is when, you find plenty of local agents who helps the customer during unforeseen changes/delays. I lost almost $1500 with them and I am hell ashamed to have been fooled by them.

PLEASE LISTEN TO ME. DO NOT USE FARE DEPOT TO BOOK ANYTHING. I MEAN IT
AS A MATTER OF FACT DO NOT USE SKYLANDER AS WELL.
Once you find the lowest airfare through SKYLANDER, more than likely the agent assigned with be FARE DEPOT.
My daughter purchased airfare to Australia on April 8, 2015 for travel on May 23, 2015 to June 8, 2015
Things happened where she can no longer go to Australia,
OOPPS FORGOT TO MENTION THAT SHE ALSO PURCHASED CANCELLATION INSURANCE
COMPANY CALLED TRAVEL GUARD. DO NOT PURCHASE INSURANCE BY THE WAY.
We called Fare Depot to cancel the fare, they now tell us that all flights are non refundable.
They claim that they tell you that. Yes that is true, but only once you have paid for it on your credit card
which at that point its too late.
After many calls, not only to them, the insurance company and the air liner themselves.
All you get is the run a round from everyone.
You can't even change the name. So basically my daughter is out $1, 759.00 not including the cancellation insurance
which was another $80.00.
They claim that is the airlines rules, no refund, but yet you call the airline and they say that is not true.
You call back Fare Depot, and tell you the same lies, even though you tell them that you have contacted the airline yourself.
The only thing they can do for us is she can change the dates of travel for a FEE OF COURSE, ($220.00) only valid till
February-2016. But, you have to use the same airline, and same destination. What good is that.
All we are asking for is our money back, we are not greedy and want the whole thing back, we were willing to take
a loss of $300.00 we thought that was more than enough, considering that they will re sell that ticket at full price
once again, and some unlucky person will buy it.
Can someone, anyone do anything about this company

Same thing happened to me exactly I even had faredepot and the airline company on a conference call to see which of the two were lying..and guess what faredepot accidentally dropped the Line!
I am seriously considering taking them to small claims court.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Or we should just massively sue them.. I am serious! They jerked me around for a week and more and still nothing.

DON'T USE FARE DEPOT. IT'S BASICALLY A SCAM.

They lure you in with low prices and actually get you to buy cheap tickets which then don't exist. Next they scam you for more money after your original fare "expires".

It's simply a scam.

Non-existent customer service also. DON'T USE!
