Family Dollar associate behavior

I was shopping at family dollar on Saturday 9/15/2018 store #5580 Brusly, LA. I came in with my grandkids to pick up a few items. My grandson started bouncing a ball and I asked him to stop. The associate heard the ball bounce and yelled from the register (stop bouncing that ball). I was so embarrassed. As I went up with my things to purchase I told him he could have handled that differently. He then came from behind the counter in an aggressive manner stating that I was the adult and I should have told my grandson to stop. I responded saying I did but you couldn't hear me from the back of the store. Again he started screaming at me and said that I should get out of his store and never come back. Sir or Madam I'm shopping this store at least 3 times a week and I've never experienced anything like this. I'm afraid to come back into your store as long as this gentleman is working there. I live in a peaceful community and I'm surprised that people like this is working in your store. I would love for someone to contact me.

The employee thought he was doing his job. You should've had more control of your grandson.

Family Dollar manager matt at redmond, oregon store

I was at the Redmond, Oregon Store September 14th, 2018. It was 2 long lines at the register (happens frequently) where people are lined up down the aisle ways. Matt the manger (I think that is what is badge said) opened a 3rd line and took all the people at the end of the lines that had just got there. Then more people came up to his line, long story short, another lady behind me and I were in the same line for about 8 minutes, the store and lines were now empty. Matt came up to our line to talk to our cashier. I told him "you are supposed to take those waiting the longest, not the people who just got in line, all of the 20 people behind us are all gone and we are still here". He gave me attitude, said he "just took people in line to help out". He was curt, defensive and unprofessional, in other words, he didn't care at all and certainly was not receptive to my comment. I think he needs more training in proper store procedure and customer service. If it was my store, I would want to know.

Gretta, Customer Relations Representative: Response to your e-mail letter that lacks any corrective action or any resolution.

Your response sounds like something you have stored away so you can respond without getting involved with the issue. This is extremely disappointing that you (CVS) believe this is acceptable. It’s NOT! Apparently, you do not value me as a customer as a result of your generalized statement that you provided.

(1) Did you read my complaint and understand that this CVS Store located in Dunkirk, MD did not provide the service that should have been expected?

(2) Did you understand that this store ran out of the medication I needed when they informed me that they only had 62 pills left because their supplier had not kept up with the orders requested, resulting in the shortage?

(3) Did you even take the time to investigate what I complained about, instead using a form letter to respond back to me?

(4) Did you read where the pharmacist was not helpful and talked to my wife in a very unprofessional tone?

(5) Do you care that the aforementioned pharmacist responded that I should not have picked up the 62 pills – which demonstrated her lack of care for my medical situation?

(6) Do you understand that I was out of this drug – which is extremely addicting and can cause hallucinations among other withdrawal conditions?

(7) Additionally, why should I have to pay an additional $15.00 for a prescription that was incomplete due to a supply problem within your organization?

(8) The order was for 90 pills, the store only had 62 which was 28 pills short of filling my doctor’s prescription amount and because that store was short, I have to pay extra for their mismanagement or from the supplier problems – Why?

I was told that they were having a problem with their supplier and were in the process of finding another supplier and I wouldn’t have to pay anything extra, but I would have to wait until I was getting close to running out and at that time, I could get the remainder of the pills. The reason I had to wait had to do with the drug being a narcotic.

Your organization screws up or runs into a problem and wants me to pay for that screw up! Furthermore, the pharmacist involved has a problem dealing with any issue that arises

from our personal experience with her. She is adamant, unfeeling, has a reputation of speaking to your customers with a tone that is condescending and a disgrace to your standards promoted by the CVS organization. I know of other people that have expressed the same complaint about this pharmacist, with one going to a different supplier to get her prescriptions filled. And, I’m thinking very seriously about finding a different supplier as well, which includes many other products we have purchased other than our prescriptions from that store. I realize that we are only two customers and that won’t make any dent in your overall profit margin. But, treating your customers in the manner I expressed will inevitably chase away others. I am not done with this complaint unless a reasonable resolution is reached. I really don’t care about the extra $15.00 charge, it’s the principle, the lie, and the rude treatment from your pharmacist that matters to me. One final note, the pharmacist (Kay), discontinued the call and never responded with the obligatory “Thank You.” I think – according to her tone – she has the false impression that I am some sort of a drug addict. I’m NOT! She needs to stop being disrespectful. I heard about the number of excessive hours pharmacists are working, however, taking it out on customers isn’t conducive with good practices encouraged from the CVS organization.

Thank You,

Rob Delaney

Subject: Incident (S-6809552) - Hello from CVS Customer Relations

Dear Mr. Delaney,

Thank you for taking the time to contact CVS Pharmacy.

I apologize for your recent experience with the availability of the medication at your local pharmacy. We have very high standards for service and having adequate stock on hand is essential.

As far as the availability of the medication, the amount each pharmacy can order is federally regulated, allowing only a set amount to be available at each location. The pharmacy team is not able to discuss the inventory of these medications due to loss prevention purposes and therefore unable to call other pharmacies in the area to locate the medication on your behalf.

I understand your frustration and concerns regarding this matter. I have shared your feedback with the leadership team that oversees this pharmacy to ensure your concerns have been addressed promptly.

Thank you again Mr. Delaney, for bringing this matter to our attention. Through your input, we are committed to better serving the needs of our customers. We value your business and look forward to helping you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Gretta

Customer Relations Representative

Family Dollar clearance sale

This evening at store number 06844, in Thomasville, NC, I was very excited about the great sale they were advertising. They had a big red tag banner outside the store, and one whole aisle with signs every few inches saying 75 % off red tag items. I selected a bunch of red tagged items and when I got to the counter I was told none of it was on sale, the only 75% off items have to end in a 9. Almost nothing on the aisle ended in a 9. I asked to speak to the manager and a lady said I am the manager then walked outside and refused to talk with me. I was embarrassed and had to put back all of my items. I snapped a couple of pics of the sign. No where does it specify that it had to end in a 9. The cashier was not nearly as rude as the manager, she was very rude and just walked out, refusing to answer our questions about their signs. I go to this store at least once or twice a week and never had such a bad experience.

Family Dollar customer service

The last time I bothered with this cramped place at 113 E. Jefferson Blvd. at Dallas, I was attacked by a homeless vagrant loitering at their door. I entered trying to fend off the attacker asking for help from employees inside since I was a paying customer and under attack. None of the cashiers, including the supervisor, even looked at me as I was fearing for my life. As a matter of fact, said supervisor stated for me to "take it outside." While I was waiting for police to arrive while said dangerous person was stalking outside, I confronted the supervisor who told me I better go on or SHE would call police on me instead. This is not a place for anyone to visit, especially paying customers since their well being is looked down upon by said employees. I will never come back here.

Family Dollar unprofessional staff/rude behavior/not polite

Family Dollar 2501 N Congress Avenue, Riviera Beach, FL 33404 (561) - 845-0901

Each time I've shopped here at this location, which is a little over a year.I find female cashiers on their cell phones, while they're ringing up the customer purchases.
Im always going out of my way to speak but there is always a rude attitude given to me.Not to say all of them because there are at least two of the female cashiers that has excellent customer service skills and make our community and visitors feel welcome.A few of the guys are okay. But the female cashiers stay on their phones.

Most of the staff are very rude and not warm.I work with people everyday and I have some difficult people I have to deal with. But this doesn't excuse me to not be professional. The atmosphere the staff here sets a very bad display in this community. We have dozens of families and children that shop here at this location.

There should be some type of disciplinary action taken, and what's sad the leaders of the store is along with the staff with this very disrespectful behavior.Im not being extra but truthful. This is hurting the business and making the consumers very uncomfortable.
I've been more than patient. This is a place of business...
Corporate really need to address it and there is a long line of dedicated people who wants to work and take pride in their jobs.

because you comment on people's comments with sheer ignorance and judgement. you have no dog in the fight, yet give an ignorant comment knowing exactly ZERO about any one claim. and my claim is absolutely report worthy. i tried to amend and cancel my order 10 minutes after it was made. The company said it was "too late". I hadn't even received email notification that it had been processed and yet they refuse to amend or cancel the order? REALLY? so - i do $180 worth of online ordering and the BEST hammit sports can do is tell me, "thank you - we can do nothing for us. the best YOU can do (since we don't want to extend any form of customer service) is tell YOU to deal with it... wait for it... AFTER the order has been filled and shipped. THEN, if you don't want the shoes that don't fit, you can send it back and we'll refund them after they have been returned. allow 30 days.

are YOU for real?

Why is it ok for family dollar CEO's, get to have security at a store if their wife works at one, but it is not ok for a husband of a worker allowed to be at the store to make sure nothing happens to his wife! They got to put security tags on everything but not allowed to do anything if someone steals something! They are working basackwards! Family dollar stores only worried about the money and not stopping a robbery or theft!

I read this complaint about dollar store because I shop there. Curiosity I guess? The customer was defiantly correct to be upset and airing her complaint about a store manager that became belligerent, especially when the customer was right. Right or wrong, there is no excuse for the manager of any store to act that way. Hopefully, the mucky, mucks at that particular chain became aware of this incident, and explained to the individual why he was put in that position and what the job actually involves, even if he does not retain his employment with that company.
As for the responses from the majority, I see a lot of angry people, some of which could probably benefit from the services of a good psychiatric professional.

I think the point was being yelled at. That's uncalled for.. regardless. I have a neighbor that's a EBT abuser. . I get it. My best friend worked all of her life, lost her job at age 52 and refused to go on it, but did out of desperation...she got $45 /month, btw. I get the frustration. But, it doesn't change the fact that customer service sucked. That's not how to handle a situation. If you calm down an READ the original post @emoato, the employee re-scanned and it went through. Baking soda is considered a personal care and cleaning product (as well as vinegar... also no nutritional value), so it's covered. I can't stand the abusers, but to be treated like crap for using what you need on a legit item is ridiculous.

Family Dollar return

I purchased some items at Lakeland Florida store # 04225 on 9/9/18. Turns out I didn't need some of the items purchased so I bring them back on 9/12/18 at approximately 9-9:30am with my receipt. I encountered a friendly cashier who stated they weren't authorized to do returns so he went to get his manager. He (unknown name) returned to say his manager was busy so I waited for 15 minutes. The cashier went to get the manager again and came back saying he cannot serve me he is still busy. Turns out the manager was unloading a truck but wouldn't take out a few minutes to give my return in which I figured he was rude about it. What kind of customer service is that? Therefore I didn't receive my refund yet and was told to come back later. Whoever that manager is on 9/12/18 at 9-9:30am does not need to be manager! He is inconsiderate, rude and overlooks the cust homers he is supposed to be serving. What ever happened to providing the utmost quality customer service? Please take care of this issue because your store#04225 is surely looking alot of business. Thank you

If you had a return, wouldn't that make the manager like the customer and you like the store meaning that the manager had customer rights. Turn about is fair play.

Family Dollar store needs pest control, possible new management and boxes piled high

Every time I step foot into this door the only word to describe this place is catastrophic, its dirty, there is boxes piled from floor to ceiling and one can not pass through any one isle, myself and another customer both tripped over boxes walking into the laundry/ pet food aisle. An associate told me they did not carry an item at your store because in order to find that item 4 pallets of laundry soap and cleaning supplies would have needed moved to reach the shelf they were on. I moved these items by myself and found the item that was hidden behind hundreds of pounds pallet. This store needs immediate attention, I can provide pictures through email of this store I have to step foot in. There are rodent traps and roaches crawling everywhere, seen some chewed up flour and other dry goods, but also saw yesterday all food aisles were crossed off by duck tape.

Family Dollar poor and nasty customer service

When entering the store here in Vivian Louisiana. Store number 05746 to be exact. I asked the Manager multiple times about helping me find an item but instead she looked with a nasty attitude as if she didn't hear what I was asking. Every time I enter the store her attitude is nasty and she has poor customer service. She's very rude and something should be done. She has no business being a team leader if she can't treat customers fairly.

Family Dollar employees / store filthy

So I've always heard they dont allow family to be hired by other family, well resently theyve hired a niece of the manager. There's only one employee working at night everytime I go in. The floors are always cluttered with stuff, never swept or mopped. I've seen employees take loads of stuff out to their cars from the back room. This store is going down hill, and will be losing my business if it continues, alot of my family and friend have the same complaints and do not want to shop there anymore.

Family Dollar service

I went into the store to make a purchase my change back was 1.45 cents I didn't know the cashier gave me a quarter dollar. So I went back inside the store to tell her she didn't give me the dollar she only gave me change she argued with me that she gave it to me so I exit the store to go back to my car to get the change she gave me and she did give me the quarter dollars so I ask her can she give me a regular dollar bill instead of that quarter dollar. Which was no problem I explained to her that she should let a customer know she giving them that type of change the manager came up talking crap to me telling me it's just a dollar why is I'm complaining saying he have plenty money he will give me a dollar out of his pocket as he walked away he called me a [censored]. I'm pretty sure with him being a manager he knows not to talk to any customer that way you never disrespect a customer and there was plenty customer in the store willing to tell the police that he was wrong because he got on his phone acting like he was calling the police but he didn't because he knew he was wrong. I shop at this store all the time but after tonight I don't think I will never go there again. I will really appreciate it if actions be taking upon this worker or I will go deeper into this matter the manger did not want to provide me with his name . Family Dollar bottled water

The Stafford Springs, CT store refused to refund my bottle deposit. I was told to go to Big Y to return the water. Big Y does not carry the brand Family Dollar does. Big Y told me that legally in Connecticut that the store that carries the brand has to do the refund. They even looked it up right in front of me on the .gov site for Connecticut. The store manager at this Family Dollar is always extremely condescending towards me and this time was no different. She claims that I am the only person in the history of that Family Dollar to ask for a refund on the bottle deposit. She agreed that they do carry that particular brand of water, though. She told me to call corporate, but then basically admitted you guys will put me on hold for an hour. I told her I can't call because I'm hearing impaired. I'm discovering via various online chat that you guys wouldn't answer my call period.

Family Dollar wrongfully accused of stealing

Family dollar 5364. Me and my lady was here 9/8/18 around 8pm maybe a little earlier when an employee was by the doors to enter/exit as we was about to exit the store the employee said that we had to open our bags cause we were seen on cameras stealing, when we asked to see the cameras they didn't want to show us and continued asking us to open the bags, since we were not showing our bags soon later we were asked to leave but before leaving we did show our bags just to show the employees and customers we did not steal anything.

My husband got accused of stealing - I'm not sure what the store number was- but it didn't have to do with any bags--the manager said that he had stole multiple times but could not say when or show anything that backed the statement up. I feel like she just wanted to put her foot down on who could be in the store and who could not be in there- something really wrong is going on in the neighborhood we live in. I think because people are so uneducated and racist, they feel they can get away with their unethical behavior in a work environment. I am going to see what happens next time- when a different manager and employees are in the store.

Family Dollar wrongfully accused of theft

Today I was wrongfully accused of theft by family dollar for stealing diapers. Why. I have no idea. I have never stolen anything in my life. Not only did employees accuse me of theft but proceeded to tell the cops I steal all the time which is funny since this is my first encounter with the cops. They proceeded to issue a letter banning me from the property and accuses me of theft though there was none and they have absolutely zero proof. Needless to say I am seeking legal counsel. The security systems don't work. You walk in the store and then you walk out they always beep. Not just for me but everyone. Every time I stop and comply and this is what they do to me. Disgusting. The store is never kept. You can't walk around without bumping into merchandise. Employees always complaining about their jobs. Always. Guess they did me a favor because it is not a pleasant shopping experience. I am mortified that I've been accused and will be seeking damages.

Family Dollar employee

I visited family Dollar in Taylorsville NC. I was followed around the whole store by an employee. I went to get some milk out of the cooler and the lady that was following me came around the corner so fast that she hit me knocking me into the cooler. When I said something to her about shoving me into the cooler she told me that if I didn't like the way she ran her store I could leave. Her name is Laura. I asked for corporates number and she laughed in my face and shoved her name tag in my face and told me there was nobody I could call cause she was the manager. This took place around 6pm on September 3 2018. I have several Witnesses that seen this take place. This is not okay and I'm thinking of calling an attorney. Thank u

Family Dollar cashier bullied me and egged on a 400 pd biker chick threatening me

My 1st visit, 4075 deltona blvd. Spring Hill, fl 34606I asked a woman working there Sue, if she could check a cat laser pointer for me to make sure it worked from the sale rack, she refused by saying "I can't do that, we have cameras, it will look like im stealing it." I checked out with younger very polite girl, she put batteries in, it worked. While running my debit card, Sue kept walking back and making comments when no one was speaking to her and i was so distracted while trying to put my pin # in. I told her "please go away" which made her mad. One of her giant size, over weight biker friends covered in tatoos creeps out of an aisle and starts yelling at me. Wow, really? What the hell did I do? I got all my bags headed for the door and this huge misshaped tattooed gorilla blocks the door, demanding i meet her outside! I couldnt believe it, i told her to get out of my way, squeezed past her without touching her and she spit in my face! OMG! I flew out the door, yelled out i was calling the police, got in my car, locked the door and called 911. I will never ever go back to that store again. Never in my life have I come across a wanna be thug as a cashier. Police were called. Sue had told me she couldn't check out my dollar laser because cameras watching would think she was stealing. I told the police to please go view the camera tape.
Because it was Sue and biker woman against me, the other sweet cashier was probably to scared to tell what happened, afraid to lise her new job, maybe. Sue told sheriff their cameras were broke. This happened monday around 3 p.m. -4:15p.m. sept 3, 2018. She needs to be fired, i am 64 yrs old, been a cashier for 30 yrs, never in my life have i come across a bully wanna be thug picking a fight with a customer?! I asked her 3 times to "please leave me alone, and I wasnt speaking to her any more" while trying to read card machine to put in my pin numbers in and check out.
