Family Bounce / Failure to provide said service
This is a letter I wrote because they said they had no problem reimbursing me because they were aware of what had happened, to this date the owner does not answer his phone and completely avoids our calls. I am sickened that my daughters 14th birthday party was ruined by these people and they obviously do not care. Please also know these people ARE NOT REGISTERED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
I am writing this in regards to a foam dance pit and foam machine that I rented from Family Bounce on Friday the 13, 2009 for my daughters 14th birthday party. I was expecting the item to be delivered before 7pm that night so it would be ready for the guests when they arrived at 7pm. They called shortly after 6pm to say they were 45 minutes away, I was irritated but understood, things happen. However by 7:30 I was beyond aggravated having to find a way to entertain 40 thirteen and fourteen year olds. When they got there it was nearing 7:45 to 8pm. Then it took a crazy amount of time and effort to set it up as there was no daylight and it was a ‘black’ party. I also was not aware that I would need 2 separate breakers. As they were setting it up one of the parents came in to get me to inform me it wasn’t working right and since it was already 8:20 was I sure I wanted to have it set up at all. I went out and it was going a few minutes later and the kids were having fun sliding around. They finally left the house at 8:45 and the kids were having a good time when within 10 minutes of them leaving a parent came inside to inform me the foam unit had fallen over. I immediately came inside to call because they would still be in the area to come help figure out what happened. I went out to look at the whole thing to see if there was anything I could do and one of the boys from the party was frantically trying to fix it fearing they had done something to cause it. I looked and realized that the pipes holding it together were broken and there was no way it happened that night. We tried for an hour to try and put it back together to no avail and I tried calling over 12 times, even leaving a voicemail with no response. The kids we very disappointed as was I because there would be nothing to keep them occupied except my poor house. I am writing this in hopes to get my $200 refunded. I don’t mind paying the $35 fuel fee as I realize we are a far drive from the owners house. Please understand I am not angry I just don’t want to pay for a service we did not use. I apologize for your time being wasted but I hope to use you again in the future the foam pit has great potential to be a lot of fun and with 5 kids we are all about fun.
