I just got off the phone after speaking to representatives for EZ 1 Rate for 30 minutes. Apparently, I had won $300 in gas coupons for being such a reliable visa customer and all they needed was a visa card number to verify I was still a customer. I spoke to that representative (Allan) for 25 minutes asking various questions and wanting a customer service number that I could call back on because I don’t hand my credit card numbers out to people who call me. He tried to convince me that the 16 digit number on the front of my card was not my credit card number, but an identification number to verify I was a customer and by just having the 16 digit number they wouldn’t be able to charge anything.

I started doing internet searches while on the phone and found EZ 1 rate listed related to a bunch of ripoffs. I even started reading the text to the representative and he still tried to convince me he was legit.

After 25 minutes he passed me to his manager (Jason from VIP Health Card) who was resistant to give me a customer service number but finally did [protected]) Then I told him I would most likely not be calling back as I found both companies mentioned related to scams on the internet, obviously he was not please and wanted to know why I wasted his representative’s time.
I have been receiving phone calls for over a week from unknown numbers in this area code, even at 11:45pm, so I was irritated and felt like passing that irritation along. I also asked to be removed from their list.

I just hope they don’t take pieces of my conversation that they recorded and somehow make up an authorization for goods. Although, I didn’t give them any account numbers so I am not sure how they could.

I just feel badly for trusting people who really need $300 in gas coupons so they unknowingly give up their account numbers and then get taken advantage of.

EZ1Rate 3 calls a day!

These people call me 3 times a day from an unknown number. Each time I ask them not to call me again and the calls just seems to get more frequent. They are calling for a person who had this phone number before me (she must have given her number out to everyone because I get tons of phone calls for her). I am a school teacher so most of the time the calls go unanswered. But I was home today (Mardi Gras Holiday) and I decided to really answer this time. I asked for the company name and the first gentleman wouldn't give it to me. I told him that would agree to the package if they gave me the company name (so I would be able to recognize the charges on my credit card statement). A woman came on and gave it to me (step one). Then she preceeded to tell me that this was not a sales call and that it was a "customer appreciation" call since I was such a good customer to the local gas station and the local mall. Funny - they were calling for someone else. She said that the person at this number was a good customer and that I would get a $300 gas card and a calling card for just $4.95 (guess the shipping charge went up from September). I would just have to give them my credit card information. I told her that I would like a phone number to call her back since it is consumer safety 101 not to give credit information out over the phone to people you dont know. She said there isn't a number to call her back at and that the information would be confidential. Ha! I told her again that I even do that to my credit card companies that call to verify information. I always call them back at the number on the card and refuse to give information out to people that call me. She then hung up the phone.

I tried calling my cell phone company to get the calls blocked and they said there is nothing they can do except to change my number. Since I just changed it in December... it would be a pain to change it again. If anyone has the phone number to this company please share since that seems to be the only way to block these annoying calls.

EZ1Rate Free gas card

This suppose company keeps calling stating that VISA and Mastercard are celebrating something and that our phone number has been chosen to recieve a Free $300 gas card. After asking for name and address, they ask for for credit card number. No matter what you tell them, they keep trying to get your card number. By their accents, they are from India. They do not even know what 911 is. It is apparently a SCAM. These people are extremely pushy in wanting your credit card number. They will tell your anything to get your card. They only way to get rid of them is to hang up the phone; however, they keep calling back no matter what.

EZ1Rate Scam/Gas Card

Ok, these idiots called my house at 9:25pm… telling me how I unknowingly was registered and had won a free contest for a $300 gas card. Suspicious? Haha… I already knew it was a fake because the first thing I asked them was the company’s name. I then came here and saw that it had plenty of evidence pointing to fraud. After that I decided to have a little fun :)… Serria Martin was the girls name she had a thick Indian accent. She was telling me that it was a verification call and that to receive my gas card all I would have to do is pay a $1.95 shipping and processing charge for the next 3 days. I straight up told her that I was under no circumstances going to give out any credit card information. She proceeded to tell me that I wouldn’t have to and that all she needed was my name and my address. Sure. After the name and add. She said that she needed to make sure that I had a valid credit card. I again told her that I wasn’t going to give out any numbers. She responded by telling me that all she needed was my type of card. I was already pissed at her so I grabbed an old Simon Gift Card. After telling her the type she asked for the 16 digit number on the front of the card. ? I was like wtf. I actually had an argument with this girl about how the 16 digits on the card were personal. She insisted that the only the number on the back of the card was the secure number and that she was not going to ever ask for it. I was using an empty gift card so I just went with it to see how far she would go to get the number on the back… After giving her the numbers on the front she told me “now all you need to do to receive your free $300 gas card that you can use at any gas station of your choice is give me the 3 digit CC number on the back of your credit card” ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I flipped out on her. Cussed her out. Then I asked her why she needs it if all she needs to do is verify the card. She explained that in order to verify the card she would have to charge a “trial charge” of $1.95 to assure there is sufficient funds on the card. She then proceeded to tell me that the “trial charge” would be immediately refunded back to the card. Haha wow. These scams get better and better by the day. I talked to the girl for almost 25 more minutes. I started calling her “babe” “baby” and best of all “sweetheart” then I started asking her all kinds of personal questions. I told her I was a doctor and had always dreamed of having an Indian wife and she should come live with me… geez. After I had had my fun I said the stupid number to her. She then said “I appreciate you cooperation and we will be mailing your card to you in the next 7-10 business days.” I stopped her and said, “listen, what if I was to tell you that I know for a fact that everything about your company is fake and that I have given you a gift card number that has no money on it, and oh yea the address I gave you was fake too.” :) “click” she hangs up. I just sat there and laughed. She was the most determined telemarketer I had ever seen or heard of. She needs some type of award. This all went down about an hour ago haha. Fun night?
Enjoy… I highly recommend this tactic to anyone looking for a good laugh.

Working with PME*vip health card the companies promised 200 gas card with no restrictions. Charged 4.95 on 7-3 for shipping charge for VIP then 1.95 on 7-7 for EZ1rate and last charge for 49.90 on 7-21. I called to cancel on 7-15 but when my statement came the charges were still there. Called EZ today 8-11 and guess what they said no record of cancellation but they will take me off their memb er list but NO refund

They continue to call me on a daily basis even after I tell them to take my name off of their database, so one day I decided to ask to speak to the manager. This is the information that I got from him.

Company Name: EZ1Rate
Representative I spoke to: Joe Malan
Manager I spoke to: Josh Hebby
Phone Number: [protected]
Address: 120 Rosebury Ave., Carson City, NV 85723
CEO of company: Jack Nelson

I wanted him to give me the CEO's direct line and also the company's attorney information so that my attorney can contact them about harrassment. Josh Hebby would not give it to me when he heard that. I told him that I have told his company countless times to take my name off the list with little success. He said he will take my name off and promises that it will be taken off. I asked for an email confirmation to verify his statement and he said no. He then told me to have a good day and hung up. I'm not sure if they're going to call me back or not after this conversation with the manager.

Next time anyone calls you from this number, ask to speak to the manager. Then ask for all the information that I asked for. Then keep asking for their attorney information until they get annoyed and make sure you mention wanting to have your attorney contact them because of harrassment by their company. I hope this helps.

Just got the second call from lady in thick Indian accent, very persistently offering $300 gas coupon. A week or so ago, I had received such a call, but repeatedly refused it and didn't get much more information than that I had won a gas coupon. I may have heard ez1rate at the very beginning of the call, but not after. Just now, my wife answered the phone and got what sounded like the same woman, making the same offer. The caller confirmed our address and phone number, and indicated that once we had agreed they would send this gas coupon, at which point we would send them $6.95 for shipping. When my wife asked more what was involved, the caller said that we also were eligible for a medical discount card. At that point we said we weren't interested and what with one thing and the other in the difficulty of understanding the heavy accent, the caller hung up. But the offer may be changing in appearance slightly.

I got the same scam call today. I asked for a phone number where I could call back after I had verified certain information about their company. The caller "Sandra, employee ID 3023" stated that they cannot take incoming calls. "So you just expect me to give you personal information based on one phone call?" I got that same speech as the above poster, about how we use our credit cards every day to buy food and gas and stuff, and just by giving her the account number was in no way endangering my funds or identity. I had to tell her 3 different times that I wasn't even going to give out an address, let alone a credit card number, to a stranger calling me. Finally, she said "have a good day" and hung up. The incoming number was blocked, BTW.

EZ1Rate Unauthorized charges

Looking at our bank acct statement today Sept 8 I noticed this company taking out 49.95 out of our account. This amount was removed on August 8 also. I looked further and on July 8 69.90 was removed from our account.

On June 24 a charge of 1.95 was removed from our acct. All say EZ1RATE is removing the money. We don't know where they got our information from and how. I am contacting my bank and having a stop put on and calling the person whose name I found on this site Adam Shorr and giving him a piece of my mind. This is almost 200 dollars he stole from our account. I am also having a problem with Discount travels and savings removing money and once again we don't know how they found out the information. I know we talked once to this company and told them to stop, but as I can see they haven't. They owe us almost 60 dollars. ONe thing I know if they don't use paypal, I won't be buying. Any phone calls I get where they want to give you gas coupons, etc... HANG UP. I have always told them no but is this the same group? Why are the banks not made aware of this EZ1RATE company and have their customers made aware of a scam company taking money out of their accounts?

I have recently gained phone access on my current cell phone and gave out my phone number to two companies: dell and amazon.

I made a phone call to dell to request a laptop repair and started to getting that phone call from 'super savings today' on next day.

I'm suspecting dell teller to do this.

Anyone else has called or have purchased from dell and got the phone call?

I spoke with someone who insisted that I take the card and pay $4.90 shipping. I explained that I had been scammed before and refused to give him my credit/debit card number. He assured me that this is not a scam and that I could purchase a visa card for the $4.90 at Wal-mart. He gave me his name, Franklin and the company's name EZ1 Rate located in Carson City, Nevada. After reading these complaints I will not answer anymore anonymous calls, I feel that they will somehow find a way to charge something to my phone bill.

I also just got this phone call an Indian man saying I was going to get a $300 gas card.
He said his name which I do not remember but he said his company was ez1rate. This is very disturbing and dangerous. Lucky for me I was on the internet and googled the company and hang up on him. This needs to be investigated it could be very bad for more trusting folks.

Hi everyone...Thank God for quick Internet access! I just received a phone call from Damian Powell # 0814 and of course he also had a very thick Indian/Pakistan accent...Just like all of you I won a $300.00 gas card! Whatever! He identified himself as being from Scottsdale, AZ and wanted to send me a bunch of neat stuff for only $1.95, which I could convienently charge on my Visa! When I told him I was not interested, he asked why and I told him because while we are talking I Googled the business name he gave me, EZ1Rate and I found complaints! He got argumentive and I finally hung up on him...Be careful everyone!

I got a call yesterday from EZ1 with the same song and dance as everyone else has mentioned. He also had a heavy accent, and said that I was selected out of 20 people to receive the gas card. He didn't have enough information about the card, where I made the purchase, or when (except it was within the last 4 months). He did know my address, and wanted to connect me with the "supervisor" to complete the transaction...with a $4.95 fee for S&H. When I started asking questions, he would answer them and challenge me for more questions. I told him I wanted the phone number that I could call him back at and he said it would be on the package when I get the card in the mail. I pressed for the number while I attempted to look up EZ1 on the computer (which I couldn't find), so I told him I didn't want to do it. He kept insisting. I told him to take my number off the list and never call back...he hung up. Unfortunately, the call came in on the caller ID as "Incoming call" so I couln't report a number.
Grrrr!

All these complaints sound just like what I'm going through right now. The company name is Super Saver. They are calling more than four times a day. Sometimes they twice in a half hour. They said that it would be very beneficial for me to listen to them. The first half a dozen times they called we would either not answer or answer the phone and say no thank you. At the end of the second day I started geting angry, so I asked to speak with the supervisor and for some reason he hung up on me. Then I asked to be put on the companies Do Not Call list. That didn't work because they are still calling back. Tonight I talked to one of their agents for about 10 mins trying to get a number that I could call back, no such luck. I said that I want them to stop harrassing my household to which the guy said how is it harassment when we are going to give you money. He also said the only way they would stop calling us is for me to agree to let them sent me the money and agree to pay the S&H fee of $4.95. I wrote a letter of complaint to the FCC. I may also file a police report.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the club! Of course, I fell for it, my first and, hopefully, the last time! Just got a phone call [protected]) from a person with a very heavy Indian accent, "Sandy Thomas", ID SILD-105. He said he was from Home Protection promotional company. Offered $300 gas vouchers. Then, after I asked several questions, he said they were located in Phoenix, AZ, and that I was under no obligation. Then I talked to the "supervisor" (Ron Ricardo, ID NNT-07074) and to a female "verifcation officer", all of which head Indian accents. I gave my CC # and was charged $3.47 S&H. After that, I googled the Caller AD8669168814 that showed up on my bank statement. I have just called by bank and cancelled my card. Can't wait for them to call back and to tell them what I think. Please be careful! I got only the last number, [protected].

Guess I was next on the list for the gas card. Same Indian accents, same EZ1rate, when they called me I was at my job, making my rounds on the floor. I couldn't be rude because I was in front of customers at the time. So I heard them out, and the first Indian guy kept reaffirming to me that my card could not be billed without the 3 digit security code on the back of my card, so they couldn't possibly scam me. And then offered all the additional services I didn't want. Etc etc...pretty much same thing that's been posted by the other victims. After the phone call was over, I already had a bad feeling about what just transpired but I was so distracted by what was going on around me, that they just slipped right through.

The fake phone number I received was [protected].
