Express Care / Terrible experience

An employee stole a pair of expensive sun glasses while I was getting an oil change. The police was called and the employee who was suspected of taking the glasses did not cooperate with the police. The other employee did not do well on a lie detector test. Owner John Markeli does not want his employees to admit guilt because that would make Express Care responsible for the glasses. This is one expensive oil change. I guess when one goes to a cut rate valvoline Express Care place with low pay employee it may cost you more than you bargain for.

I had a really bad experience with V express care as well. It involved an employee lying about the kind of oil being used, poor treatment of customers' cars, and of course, overfilling (can potentially cause catastrophic failure of an engine). After much digging and conversation with Valvoline HQ, I learned this:

These "Valvoline Express Care" shop are franchises, so Valvoline is not liable for anything. You are dealing with a mom n' pop shop at best, who tries to use a big company's logo to establish credability. Also, they are NOT required to stock 100% valvoline oil, only 80% (per valvoline rep). In another word, they have the chance to give you much cheaper oil w/o you knowing.

    Express Care - Dangerous service

Had brake pads changed. Brakes were soft and wouldn't hold. Service mand kept trying to push it of that anti-lock brakes worked that way. Almost wrecked when couldn't stop while leaving parking lot. It wouldn't have been as bad if the service man didn't keep insisting that they were fine. This put my family in danger. And he didn't care.

Actually Valvoline Express cares enter into agreements with valvoline to feature their products. In order for express cares to meet the terms of the agreement, is to sell 80% valvoline products. They wouldn't be an express care too long if they were buying cheaper oil and selling it as valvoline because they buy the oil from valvoline. if they didn't
order valvoline oil their status as an express care would be terminated. the 20% competitor oil is in the contract because some customers have to use other brands, and that is the allotted amount of competitor oil they can have in stock at any point in time. with that in mind, to think that an express care was using cheaper oil as valvoline would be bad business because valvoline would immediately recognize that the express care was not buying valvoline oil and terminate the contract.
