Experian Unauthorized charges

I signed up for the "$1.00 FREE Credit Report." I was charged the $ 1.00 plus $17.95 after seven days. I was in a hurry when I signed up & didn't read the contract before I hit "accept." I called the company & spoke to a woman with a Latino accent, named "Bullet"...REALLY! She cancelled my subscription after about 10 minutes(I'm sure I'm exaggerating, LOL), but she did not refund the $17.95 that was debited from my account. The number I called is; [protected]. I wanted everyone to have this phone number so you can have a nice conversation with a lady named "Bullet". Lesson learned; read all contracts thoroughly, BEFORE hitting the accept button. Have a superb day & tell "Bullet" I said Hello!

Experian BOGUS CREDIT REPORTING CHARGES ON BANK STATEMENT - SEE SOLUTION BELOW!

I hope I can help someone with the same problem. After some digging I discovered that the charge is coming from creditreport.com not experian. I just spoke with creditreport.com The reason they are continuing to charge you is because they have a relationship with all of the banks and cc companies so when you change your card or get a new expiration date, etc the banks automatically update them with the new number. To get this fixed call creditreport, com at [protected]. Give them the credit or debit card number that the charge is associated with and they will pull up all charges associated wiith it. They will refund all of the charges to you if in fact the accounts that were opened with your card are not yours which is most likely the case.. Then make sure they block your card and those accounts so no more charges get through. Apparently someone skimmed our debit card number and used it to get three different credit reports for people we do not know. I spoke with a very professional lady named Charity who explained all of this to me in detail. In addition I discovered why there is so much fraud associated with this site. They only ask people to enter the cc number and the exp date, not security. Also they do not make sure the billing address or name matches the card number. In this day and age I find this incredibly irresponsible behavior for a merchant. They obviously are not concerned with fraud and those consumers who are adversely affected by this. Please do the above first and then once your refund goes through cancel that card and start fresh again. I hope this will do the trick for you. Good Luck!

Vences Says its NOT a scam - very snotty remark! It is a scam, because it's impossible to cancel this ongoing charge without the above mentioned precise records. Experian does NOT give a clear path or phone number to cancel this expense. They have limited hours to call and even with the correct information, you may not easily be able to get a response. By the way, once you get through, you may likely run out of time to wait for help. Once you do get through, you may get cut off before getting this process is completed.
This IS a Scam!

By the way, notice that helpful Vences did not give you any helpful information. Shame on Vences, this is a Huge problem.

I have had the same experience as the rest.
First you sign up for $1.00 with
- MyCreditHealth.com -
You sign in and establish a username and you need a password.
- Even if you remember both username and password with the origional site to login to the Experian site where your bill comes from:
- Experian*creditreportinfoExD.comCA -
If you log in to this site, it will not accept your username and password from MyCreditHealth.com.
Go back to the origional site and you will get this Phone number plus an address. This is the only way you may cancel - Use this Ph #:

It's not a scam, when you signed up to view your credit report for $1 and you checked that you have read the terms and service agreements, it states in there that AFTER your free trial for $1, you will be billed monthly. You need to go back on the site where you signed up for it in order to cancel it. READ your terms and services before accepting anything for FREE.

Experian Fraud charges

I just recently observed charges on my checking account of $16.95 from Experian. When I called to see who authorized these charges I was told that an account was opened with all my information since October 2011, even when I have never opened an account with Experian to check my credit report. During this conversation the customer service representative on the phone began laughing and found it funny that I was disputing $16.95. This was not a one time charge I've been apparently been charged this amount every month since October. Of course now i'm being told that its was a non-refundable fee. My issue is not paying the $16.95 a month that really doesn't effect my bank account at all, what does make me upset is the customer service provided by Experian. Specifically the employee who called her self "Alex". Alex a little heads up be mor professional when you deal with customers because you never know who they may know with Experian that me cost you your professional career. Just an FYI to those who are part of Experian seems more like a scam than anything else. I've been paying $16.95 since October and not once have i ever received a credit report, either by email or by mail.

I too have had unauthorized charges. Someone used my credit card number with a different name and Experian still processed it. When I called them, they said the name doesn't have to match the card. What a shock. This has happened with 3 different cards. With so many complaints, can't something be done. This is awful.

I've just discovered a recurring debit to my checking for this same 19.95 that others are reporting. My bank is treating like fraud and have cancelled my debit card of course. But I never used it to buy this service and of course am panicked that someone had the debit card number. I haven't even gotten through to Experian yet, have to work, but will follow up with them myself even though the bank is going to. Why someone would steal my debit card number to charge Experian credit protection to me is pretty baffling. And kinda unbelievable. Someone inside Experian doing this ? I just can't figure out they got my debit card which I don't use online. Such stress, who needs this.

I resently went to check my credit report and thought i was paying the $33.95 amount and have just noticed that they charges my account $101.70 which i did not agree to. I am not happy with this i have noticed this happens way to often to people. I am not able to send a copy of this charge but am more than happy to fax a copy to you.

Experian Credit Card Scam

Experian is an on-line credit report agency that monitors your credit monthly for a fee. I used them a long time ago and cancelled my account when I found a much more reasonable one. About six months later a reoccuring charge showed up on my visa from Experian. When I called they said my credit card number was being used by a Chris and Chad and that they had somehow gotten access to it. I had to tell the customer service rep when it started so he could credit all the charges they had done. Luckily, it was only 3 charges, but it could have been much worse. Cancelled the card and will never use them again! Pass the word!

I have been laid up for several months, but I am now starting to catch up on expenses/ charges. I notice that EXPERIAN continues to hit my credit card with a $18.01 charge every month. I thought I had this stopped before I got sick, OBVIOUSLY NOT ! The last time I used their service was 11/08/11. Short of getting legal representation, what do I need to do in order to get this stopped ?

I am not surprised, add to the above they have a marketing company sending spam emails called CheetahMail. Experian is also behind spam campaigns. I receive the unsolicited emails from two ip ranges which I have monitored for months now 63.236.77.nnn and 8.7.43.nnn are also reported by other people over the net and have been blacklisted in various SBLs. They make profit using shady methods.

Experian Continued charges on credit card after I have cancelled service

I have cancelled the credit reporting service with Experian on my credit card.
I spoke with someone directly with Experian. Now, I am getting billed with the same amount on my credit card, but the line on my credit card only states" Experian *CreditReport InfoExD.com CA" and does not give a telephone number to call, no 800 number to call. There is no other company, location or address information given either. The web site I have given here leads to this web site for complaints. I have contacted my credit card company. If they do not get involved as well, I will be closing my Chase credit card as well. If I do not get resolution within 30 days, I will report this to the Better Business Bureau and to the FTC. Thank you.

Experian $19.95 debit appears for no reason!

My wife and I noticed a debit hitting our checking account that we had no idea what it was! Amount of $19.95 with a description that includes "Experian *Credi [protected] CA" as well as "CHECK CARD RECURRING PYMT" as if this transaction was going to keep recurring! A phone call to the 877 number was no help, so we now have our bank involved to reverse the charge and block it from happening again. What a scam. And to read all of the complaints online, you'd think someone/some crime fighting agency would put a stop to it.

I have never ONCE pulled my credit scores on my own... I think there may be another factor in all of this. Do any or all of you have At&t for your wireless provider? Not ONLY did I have the monthly $14.95 charges from FreeCreds, but the same person hijacked the fact that I had my at&t wireless phone bill on auto pay and incrementally started adding additional money to it, all the while paying for my bill as well as part of his/her bill IN AN AT&T STORE (Texas and Georgia). So not only is At&t accepting payment from people who don't have physical credit cards in front of them (which is a HUGE problem in itself), but these a**holes had enough information about me to know that I was paying my bill automatically. I'd advise all of you to go back and check your phone bills!

If anyone knows of a way to submit a police report or file a formal complaint please pose here so that I may do so as well.

It happens when you sign up for a free credit report. They have you enroll in a credit monitoring service. It begins as free trial but after the trial you will begin to see charges if you don't cancel in time.

Same thing, two alleged "signature purchases" over 2 days:
Dec 13, 2011 Debit Card Signature Purchase To EXPERIAN *FREECREDS [protected] CA Completed -$14.95 USD
Dec 14, 2011 Debit Card Signature Purchase To EXPERIAN *CREDITREP, [protected], CA Pending -$19.95 USD

I called the 2507 number, and the guy who answered claimed this was indeed Experian, that it was likely that I inadvertently signed up for something on a website or was a victim of 3rd party fraud, and that he could help take care of the problem if I gave him my card number; I hesitated, then he asked for my date of birth. I politely declined, saying that I'd do some more research into this and call back at a later time. He said that was fine, they could have a 3 way phone conversation with my bank to reverse the charges.

This could be just a "social Engineering" Sales pitch, with the following aspects: 1) familiarity 2) believable "now factor" & 3) a way to resolve the problem. My information may have been sold to Adobe or Experian by ITT tech ( ITT Tech, Sylmar CA) was in the address block on letter head. They offer watching your credit report free for a year if you sign up for 2 or more. I reported Experian to the FBI. Hopefully that will get their attention. Please do the same if you have been swindled as well. Remember, they may have put it in the fine print, but clearly their intention was to mislead. It's fraudulent.

I called the number listed here by other victims of this theft. Call [protected] (option 1 i think; pressing 0 ends the call - nice touch Jerks). I told them immediately that i was calling to cancel the membership, that the money was billed erroneously and needs to be refunded immmediately. I told her that I would keep saying that over and over until they did it. She tried to explain how it says on the website that this is all legit. I interrupted her, as politely as i could, to say that that is all nonsense, and that while the information might have been discretely hidden on there somewhere that it was clearly fraudulent and that it was theft, without question. I repeated this three times, and said that I would of course simply report the situation to the proper authorities, and that we should focus on the cancellation. They agreed to cancel it and said a confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours. They refunded one of the three months billing (at 17.95/month) that they stole, but not the first two months.
It is clearly fraud. No question. Misleading advertising. And the fact that it's a credit reporting agency makes it all the more disgusting. They're playing on the fact that we'd be intimidated to report them because they are who we'd report them to. Sick sick sick.
Hopefully I'll get that email tomorrow. We'll see...

When you order your $1 Credit Report & Score, you will begin your 7-day trial membership in Experian Credit TrackerSM. If you don't cancel your membership within the 7-day trial period**, you will be billed $17.95 for each month that you continue your membership. You may cancel your trial membership anytime within the trial period without charge

Experian Hidden charges

Went to Experian.com
Took advantage of their $1 credit score report.
Cancelled my membership same day (able to do so although had to listen to them try and talk me out of it for almost 3 minutes).
Then next day on my credit card, there is a $29.95 charge. Called them to inquire. They claim that the $1 charge was for my Experian credit score only and that I clicked TWO disclaimer pages accepting additional charges if I wanted my TransUnion and Equifax scores as well.
I would have absolutely remembered if I had to OK TWICE additional charge. Absolutely not true.
Person on the phone also claimed that I was sent an email notifying me of the $29.95 charge. This is also absolutely not true. Checked my spam and junk folers. Everything. NO EMAIL TO THAT RIDICULOUS EFFECT.
Experian.com congratulations on your dishonest trickery of a way to make money. You are no better than scammers.

Experian Unauthorized Charges to my checking account

Equifax charged me on 3 separate occasions for a $1.00 free credit report online. The first charge was for 29.95, a second charge of 19.95, and a third charge of 19.95. When I called to be credited for the payments that were automatically deducted from my account I was told that there was a 7 day grace period that I knew nothing about and that the agent on the customer service line would only credit me back one charge of 19.95 and half of the 29.95 charge of 15.00. I am furious because the terms for this were concealed on their website. I can't imagine that I am the only person that has had this experience and frustration. I should be fully reimbursed. Experian Credit report

I paid over $90. 00 worth of credit reports that i never recieved, which was six months ago. Experian still continued to take money off my card anywhere from $1. Oo to $14. 95 a month, sometimes twice a month. They have hit my account for close to $200. 00 and finally had to close the account they was taking it from. I needed the services to clear up my credit history so i could get it payed off, so my husband and i could buy our first house.

Same thing happened to me! I e-mailed them late last month and told them to cancel the account. They e-mailed me back saying they would "look into it and contact" me. Never received another e-mail, and here it is June 4 (their "stealing" date!) and my credit card has been charged $12.95 again. I am an old lady who lives on a small pension and Social Security, and you can bet every penny I spend counts. I hate these vultures!

I bet you went online to get your free trial subscription for credit monitoring so you could get your credit report and score. They ask for your credit card information. What happens is after the free trial period, if you don't tell them you wish to cancel, your credit card is charged. However, you can get your credit report for free (All 3 credit bureaus) by going to www. Anualcreditreport.com (If you want your credit score, you do pay a small fee) . Your credit score, if you want to get it for free you can go to kreditkarma.com just like the tv add correctly indicates, they don't ask for any credit card information (I've tried it out myself) . Based on you credit score you are given offers of credit but it's up to you if you want to click and apply!

This company hit me for 12.95 twice. I didn't even know about them until I looked on my statement. Now I can't find how to get my money back. I will ask the bank for their number. If this doesn't work I am going to the BBB.

Experian Unfreeze account to apply for loan

About three years ago my husband and I placed a freeze on our credit reports in response to the rise of identity theft. At the time, we understood that we could temporarily lift the freeze when applying for loans.

We are now attempting to refinance our mortgage. We've made repeated attempts to unfreeze our Experian report using their online tool. After going through the process of filling out all of the information requested, we get a screen saying the only way to unfreeze the account is by sending confidential identity information (which we were trying to protect) and money through the US mail. They do not provide any way to contact "customer service" to determine why we can't use their online tool. (In fact, there is no information about how to contact a human representative for their company on their web site.) They also don't provide any information about how/when they would let us know that the account is unlocked once they receive all of the paperwork they require.

I suspect that, although they claim that you can easily unlock your credit report online, their website is not set up to collect their fee for unlocking your report (although you can certainly purchase their credit report/protection products online). Both Equifax and TransUnion make it possible to charge their unlock fee to a credit card. No fuss, no muss.

We are going to the expense of obtaining copies of their required identifications (for example, renewing driver's licenses early so that they show our current address; Colorado lets you write in a new address on the back of the license without renewing). As a result of the delays in being able to provide lenders access to our Experian credit report, we are unable to take advantage of refinancing opportunities, which will result in continued higher mortgage costs.
