I was told I was given a deal- about 4k for a year membership. The first match had very specific issue that I clearly stated was a non-negotiable for me prior (No, I will not move to Africa or any other country to possibly stay in a long-term relationship). The second match didn't want children which I said was a non-negotiable. Since those matches, the matches chosen are frankly somewhat insulting and I think this is also because I complained and wanted my money back. Just in case I was being too high on myself, I have shown my friends and family the matches and they too were appalled at the level of mismatching. Not to mention all these men were on free sites where I had very quickly swiped "no". How this is a professional match making company, I don't know but they really missed the mark with me but showing themselves incapable of following the simplest criteria.

After online researching, I now see others have been charged less and given different sales pitches on deals. To see all the different deals for different clients feels very gimmicky and unfair. They also should be more forthcoming in letting people know that all their male matches are already online on sites like Bumble which are free for women. I asked for my money back after the first three matches were terrible, two of which contradicted by non-negotiables. They refused to give me any portion of the 4k back.

I signed on with Executive Search Dating after seeing their ad in the Georgia Straight. They charged $3000 for a one year membership with a promise of one to two dates per month. I immediately thought that this seemed like it wasn’t good value and I voiced this right away. I was reassured that they have ‘a lot of people for me’ and that they have ‘a lot of people that meet my criteria’ in their database and that I’d be dating much more than the minimum, at least three or four per month. I’d like to note that the initial ‘Senior Matchmaker’ that did my consultation has never been in contact with me again.

When they have found a match for you, they phone you and give you a very general description of the person and the date details. If you agree to go, only then they will send you a black and white picture. After the date they do a follow up call and ask about the date and ask you to rate it on a scale of one to ten. Of all the dates I have gone on, not a single one fit the criteria that I established. The guys were nice - really, nothing wrong with anyone, but not my type at all. In one case, I was set up with a guy whose type was the exact opposite of me. This was a terrible experience for me and was very damaging to my self esteem and confidence in the process. The most recent date that I went out on, they didn’t do the follow up call until a week later. I have repeatedly expressed to them that the matches they have sent me on dates are not in keeping with my criteria. Why establish my preferences if they are not going to be considered at all?

It’s very clear to me that they do not have the extensive database that they claimed to have in the initial meeting. They also have not replied to my last email, to address my concerns. They refuse to correspond via email at all, so I cannot have a record of these conversations. I was instructed to call during a one hour window - between 9am and 10am, which is very unreasonable to expect from an ‘executive’ like me.

Since they processed my last payment, I feel like they are no longer interested in honouring their contract with me. I am not getting the 3-4 dates they sold me on, not even the minimum 1-2 suitable dates per month, and they are not returning my emails. I have many months left in my contract with them but they have still not delivered a single suitable date to me.

I also had the misfortune to meet this company. I met the owner in May 2011, and I filled out a form and he looked at it brings out a few folders of ladies who share the same interests and what not. I was like I want to think about this and left. He phones me up two weeks later and says I got some great matches for you and I finally took a chance and joined 2 week after that.
The matches they have are nothing but pure garbage. Some of the girls give you the feeling they are being paid to be there, some of them were liars, none of them had much in common with me. But being positive I said there has to be one good person in these matches. I went almost 3 months at some points between dates and even at that they matched me to a race of women I didn't want to meet at all. Save your money folks, this company don't seem to give a damn and just want the money. Total Cost of this Lesson $2200

The complaints on this site are valid. This company scams it's members and uses misleading advertising. The service is very expensive and matching is done using very general parameters. You can do better on your own using internet dating sites if you are selective and put in the time.
