Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Rip Off

OMG! This place is a RIP OFF! What a bunch of liars! I just graduated and my first interviewer told me that they usually NEVER hire Everest graduates! They have a "deal" with the school to at least interview us. What are you guys getting a buck for everyone of us who gets through the door?!
When this place sees an Everest resume, they just tear them up!

I just graduated from Everest but I don't look to my Everest Degree to open doors for me; I look to the GOD I serve who is GOD Almighty to open doors and I believe that regardless of what anyone says about Everest the The LORD has signed His seal of approval along with favor on my degree and He will use it to take me places some have not any gotten with a PH.D or Doctrine. That is the kind of GOD I serve. I suggest stop depending upon your degree and depend on GOD and believe that He can use the degree to open doors for you. Bottom line...This degree is not my source, The Most High GOD is my Source and it is because of Him that I am moving forward!

I graduated in 2003 with my Associates degree in Business Administration. The reps told me I could transfer all my credits to any university well I went to University of LaVerne and they only accepted 24 credits. I got a loan for almost $8, 000 just for an AA. They are complete liars. I remember the teachers would constantly be replaced. I wanted to quit in the middle of school but they told me I made an agreement with them. Anyway. I got my bachelors degree at ULV. Im embarrased to put Everest College in my resume. I regret it completely. I wish I can get my money back. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY...

I had graduated Everest College back in 2008 and never lucked up on a job in the past to years in the field that I majored in. I was told in the beginning of my registration by a financial aid representative that I had a grant that would cover most of my expenses and only had to pay around $2, 000. A few months later I got a letter from a loan agency saying that I owe $8, 000 for a student loan. The people who suppose to help graduate student to find a job have terrible methods they didn't give me any recommendations and they are to nonchalant when trying to help students to find a job like they don't care if you get a job or not. I hope very soon that Everest goes out of business and the people who attended the school and have the same problem as I have can get refunded.

Ouch! ARe you serious?! I hope that as I apply for jobs in Canada that I am not shunned because of my Everest affiliation. I guess I'll have to ride on my other college credentials; it is just that Everest is the most recent.
Hmmm, I wonder if employers in Canada feel the same way as their American counterparts.
IF any potential employers in Canada read this and feel that attending Everest will not open any doors, replying as such would be helpful to others thinking of embarking on careers through Everest. It would be nice if you'd give them forewarning before they invest in excess of $10, 000.00 on a school/program that is going to prove of no value or discernible worth.

I am curious why people are not reporting them to the BBB? I have checked and they have A+ and B+ ratings with very little complaints. And by very little I mean less then 20... Also, why are you not reporting them to the Attorney Generals office, or even the US Dept. of Education? If they are so bad, then why not report them? They would get shut down if you did...

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Money Scam and worst school ever

I took the Law enforcement Foundations program in 2009. When I first started in the law enforcement program I was supposed to start at 13:00-18:00, but after the first day my program started at 13:00 and then at 14:00 we had a 15-20 minute brake and then by 15:30 we were done. Wow! Long Days! It was like this all the time. My teacher was another thing. He was always making sexual comments to the one girl in our class and was checking her out each and everyday. I complained to the administrator who brought me to the school and I told him about the hours, and the comments and he did nothing about it at all. The program was one year and I did not learn anything except that the school was a waist of time. I was told that there was a lot of jobs in the law enforcement field, but by the time I graduated July 2010 they could not find anything accept (security officers for $10.00 per hour) If i would have known that I would have just continued working, giving the fact that I made more then that before I went to school. also they said at the beginning that the school was going to help me find a job at the end, but they sent me two or three job advertisements and that was it. I was stuck looking for myself. You would think paying $17, 000 for a coarse would get you a good job, but It did not here. Anyway, I would not recommend this school to anyone. Make sure you go to a recognized college first. Everest College will say they are recognized, but reality is that they are not!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute They offer placement but it is a scam

My wife and I attended a meeting with a representative of Everest Institute / Corinthian Colleges Inc. an were told that we had nothing to worry about when my wife graduated. They told us that they had many hospitals and Clinics looking for their grads and that when she graduated she would have a $35, 000 offer within weeks. The truth is that Inorder to get her actual diploma they made her sign a form that stated she could not sue them if they never helped her get a job. And if she never signed the form they could not give her the dipoma. After she graduated we never heard from them again. We totally lost $14, 000 in tuition because we found out through the grapevine that no hospitals or clinics do business with Everest Institute / Corinthian Colleges, Inc. because of their fraudulent activites.

DO NOT GO TO THIS INSTITUE

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Rip Off Scam

All the Everest Colleges are a joke. I have two other friends that have graduated from other CA Everests and, compared to community college grads, we don't know a thing. It costs 10, 000 MORE than the community college too. It's an embarrassment to have "Everest College" on my resume and even the instructors say that employers usually "rip up" the resumes once they see the name Everest. The instructors are nice people, but hardly qualified to teach in a classroom environment and most of them will admit that they have never taught.
The campus president walks around with a fake smile plastered on her face telling you whatever you want to hear and most of its baloney. These people have no idea what they are doing and its clear to all of us...students call this place a "train wreck", so that sums it up. They want our Financial Aid! That's it! Once enrolled, you can never fail this place. There are no standards - fake ones maybe, but no one is ever thrown out and even the students failing still pass! You certificate is a worthless piece of paper and employers know it. Go to real school. Save yourself a bundle. You can get financial aid there and graduate with a real diploma..something that will help you acheive your goals. I'm off to Santa Ana College starting in September after a disasterous year at Everest where I learned nothing that cost me 15 grand.

All I have to say is how stupid were you not to drop out and find a different school once you realized it was a "train wreck"? I mean really, you spent the money and didn't decide to quit and go to another college or university when there are a million choices out there! People switch colleges everyday. I can't believe it took you a year to drop out, anyone with a lick of knowledge would know that you should have quit sooner and saved your money!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute unorganized, inferior, disappointed

The instructors didn't instruct they assigned homework and had us do it in class. Not all instructors were like this but all were late and not organized with lessons. Changed instructors mid Modular and their styles were night and day which led to repeat lessons and lower grades on tests due to misunderstandings etc. The financial staff ( Lily )was GREAT. The initial admit rep was very nice but some of the things he said weren't honored and he left the school a few weeks into my term. The so-called Success Counselor is the worst kind of lazy school official and what she didn't do right was always blamed on some outside source. Department Chair did the word shuffle to make you think that you were wrong and not the school/staff. I studied hard and made good grades and had perfect attendance from day one but after seeing the President's and Dean's listing with some of the slackers name on there makes my efforts seem diminished. The instructors told us that the students that either slept in class or didn't show up had to have lessons adjusted so that they could get passing grades. THIS SCHOOL NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT EDUCATING.

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute School

I attended Everest College From Sept 2009 - May 2010 and completed externship on June 18, 2010. I ask for a letter of recommendation to continue my education as a dental hygienist from Mrs Xandra Redic who is the Dental Department Chairman, who told me she did want to sound prejudice in the letter. I also emailed Anthony McKenna, who is the Director of Admissions, and no response. I received excellent grades of "B" average, and wasnt accommodated . I also had questions about my student loans and no one answers or returns phone calls. Not to mention the fights and the attitudes the instructors have. SAVE YOUR MONEY DO YOUR RESEARCH

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Everest Takes Advantage of Students and Employes

I’ve been working for this school for almost five years and I no longer have the energy to waste fighting for a useless cause. I care about the quality of the company and the work I do, but I feel my hands are bound. I talk to many people at this company and I know many of my peers feel the same way.
From the beginning of my employment, I have been witness to a myriad of problems, issues, inconsistencies and disorganization. I have diligently tried to be a part of the solution by communicating with management, providing examples and suggesting alternative methodology, but to no avail. Of course, this company has made its lion’s share in changes, but it is the rare case when one actually results in progress. Is this the price that is paid when politics win over logic?
Our management is oversized and incompetent in a multitude of ways. There are many who have no experience in Education and are not properly trained. This results in a mistake-saturated process of “learn as you go” in which then groups of employees suffer or are misguided, compounding the effect tenfold. We have managers who may have experience, but are sorely lacking in the basic qualifications needed for good leadership. A true leader should be able to effectively communicate, sincerely listen, welcome new ideas/suggestions and should be present. Self-serving, insecure, arrogant and/or immature individuals do not make good leaders, nor do the “glorified rep” managers who only end up being corporate tools.
The training and tools employees are given are poor at best. For example, the training I’ve received over multiple positions and the years has never been adequate or thorough. Most of my training has been generalized, ambiguous, and underdeveloped. I use programs I’ve never had training on, and for CampusVue I wasted a week learning how to process financial aid even though I am in Student Accounts and do not process financial aid (I think the actual Student Accounts ‘training’ lasted about 30 minutes). In most of the positions I’ve held, I’ve had to rely heavily on IFAP regulations. I recall years ago when I first started I was stationed at a computer for a week to go through an IFAP module, but I have yet to receive training or even a reference that actually interprets these regulations along with school policy in a applicable manner. I can take a handful of my peers and ask them about a policy or procedure, and I will get a handful of answers. Despite my efforts to communicate to management over the years how desperately a fundamental training is needed, I am replied to with a “duly noted” but the issue is never addressed. Generally, what employees are left with are undefined processes and procedures, policies that are not enforced or implemented in a consistent manner, and a lack of confidence that they are doing their jobs correctly. There is a gross lack of communication between departments, and between corporate and campus. The result is a failed attempt at cross-functionality in which the left hand never understands what it or the right is doing.
Overall we have a company which had a real opportunity for innovation but has instead resigned itself to the trappings of a typical corporation – one that shouts from the top of the mountain its dedication to its employees and customers, but whose every move reeks of the bottom line. A company whose decisions are made by people far removed and out of touch from the reality of events in the trenches. Rather this company environment seems geared toward management/stockholder bonuses and compensation, while the majority are given poor tools and training, questionable management, unrealistic goals, infrequent rewards and unfair compensation.
There is a greater shame in all of this beyond the obvious. I have talked to so many of my peers who are frustrated, stressed and unhappy; yet so many of them give so much of themselves to this company anyway. These are people who are in those trenches everyday who have a real insight into what works and what doesn’t. They should be consulted, listened to eagerly, appreciated fully and highly regarded in every move this company makes. My wish for all of them is that one day this is realized and acted upon, replacing the stream of empty promises and lip service. They deserve better. “Do the Right Thing” this company bellows…well, lead by example I bellow back.
I may not be the most eloquent writer, but I hope my points have been made. Do not kid yourselves into thinking that I am one disgruntled employee or that the issues reside in my department only – it is only the tip of the iceberg. When you review your employee survey, do not insult your employees by acting like a raise from 25% satisfaction to 27% is a real accomplishment, but instead address the reality that ONLY 27% are satisfied.
With the utmost concern for my well-being and sanity, I bid you all adieu and good luck, with sincere wishes that you are able to retain yours.

This sentence of yours is the most telling about your situation.
" this company environment seems geared toward management/stockholder bonuses and compensation"

Would you expect any publicly traded for profit company to act any different? They don't, they have a responsibility to their shareholders to make as much profit as possible. The degree to which making a profit for shareholders is their obligation is best demonstrated by a lawsuit filed against Henry Ford by his shareholders. Henry Ford started to cut retail prices on the Model-T and Model-A Ford models to make them more affordable for the public. This resulted in more cars being sold but for less overall profit if he would have kept prices the same and maintained the then current sales rates.

Guess What? The shareholders won, and he was not allowed to reduce the prices BECAUSE A PUBLICLY TRADED FOR-PROFIT COMPANY HAS A DUTY TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS FOR ITS SHAREHOLDERS. The industry segment makes no difference if it is housing, automotive, education, or healthcare. Welcome to American Capitalism.

I too attended this school and i realized shortly after i started going to this campus that the staff was not with it, already attending and knowing i would have to pay any way, i was stuck and had to stay. Staff NEVER told us when meetings were going to be until the last min. I was NEVER informed that i had to take a photo I.D. The staff could care less of the students, they are just there to earn there money! I have been out of school 8 months now and nothing! Ofcourse i know to do my own homework and i am but i am unable to find an open position, i am getting a lot of thank you but no thank you because i dont have years of experence, i only have 9 months experience with the school, most companies will not accept me! I took this and asked the school about it and what am i to do and if they would help me, all they do is IGNORE me and my questions, sometimes and often, they NEVER even get back to me and mostly if they do at all, they take days to get back and they will dance around your question and ignore you, they tell you to go in for there stupid workshops that in my opinion is a waste of time, i went to school i know how to act, etc. I am stuck with payments that i cant even pay, i have no income and i regret going to this school that treats you like dirt! DO NOT SIGN UP!

Thank God i did some more search on Everest College. I myself currently live in Toronto, Canada. Just a couple of weekes ago I gave them a call amd left a message on the Eveerst College voicemail system. So i get a return call saying "thanks for choosing everest i understand you'd like to enroll. oh excuse! me but i have a baby in my arms".. So now i am thinking... is this a phone operater for the school or who works in their home? Dam i felt like i was ordering a pizza. Soo unprofessional!. I go anyways to see the establishment.. I was going to take Massage Therpy. But i know myself I am picky when it comes to the enviroment of my class. teachers and school text books.. I need good lighting and everything up to par.. The class room looked like a dump and the teacher didnt tell me much on her class, text books are photocopied and a student was the one who told me how the course line when. Gesh!. I wanna click with a teacher. Dam! if i am going to give you that big tution fee i best click with the professior and admistration. So i changed my mine went back home thought it over.. And said okay maybe let's see the Dental assistant course like. Gesh! when you enter the college immmeditly you see dental chairs.. So i am "Humm.. this should be interesting.. Once a gain i ask to see the class meet the teacher, the teacher is of audtioning for a magic show. I aint joking mind you at this time i am visting Everest during the Xmas season. I am like what the hell? The admisitration girl is like dont worry you will like this class just sign here, there and there. I am like wait let me read the contract..They want $100 registration fee. WHY? and the class fees of whatever thousands of dollars.. and if i dont get accepted to a loan from a bank i have to pay every time i sit in the class. So i am like so let's see if i get accepted first from the bank it only takes 2days to find out then i will enroll, cuz i aint gonna enroll and the bank says no and i am stuck paying (everest college) when i dont got the doe.. Dam! a loan from the BANK MEANS TO BORROW. My bottom line is this :: DONT GO TO EVEREST COLLEGE THEY ARE A SCAM! They call it a CON-tract for a reason. EVEREST COLLEGE IS A CON..AND A SCAM! . and if you ever want to go to a college or universy do some research around your local community or even in the career you want to take, find out the demand for it and ask actual establishments who have accomplish there goals and ask who'd they hire..And i did that prior to signing the dotted line And found out that in Toronto Canada. most establishments WON'T HIRE a Everest student, , Thank god! I found THE COMPLAINT BOARD.. they saved me from signing. My life that would be full of debt... I didnt sign the dotted.

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Incompentency

This school targets the minimally educated, low-income student who chooses a school depending on how easy it is to obtain Financial Aid. Most students have learning disabilities which have steered them away from traditional college. These students are being set up for failure in the "real working world" as they are "pushed" through this school with an easy "A". It is nearly impossible for a student to fail, even though they may be told they will, they will only be forced to continue attending (while financial aid is charged over and over) until the student finally meets the very very low requirements (of attendance) or drops. Once the student graduates, the majority will soon realize that they will not be able to secure employment since they are missing key components of hire-ability. Most employers do not hire everests students because of the poor quality of education and poor skills/ presentation of the applicant/student. This is a school that only cares about your money (or the governments money). Once the money is secured, they only thing Everest cares about is not letting you drop until they secure the full amount of your tuition. It doesn't matter if you are sick or dying or have a drug or alcohol problem, no one leaves Everest. No one in management knows whats going on and no one cares. Once you graduate and find that you can't get a job in your field, you will get pissed, want to file a class action lawsuit (with your fellow students against Everest since most of you are not working in the field) and you will be saving your paychecks from Safeway to pay off your massive student loans which have now accumulated enormous interest..a loan that will follow you for the rest of your life.

This decision could ruin your life..as it has ruined the life of many. There are actual attorneys that focus their business on filing lawsuits against colleges like Everest, that is how corrupt this school is.
Everest will only last another 5 or 7 years or so..they are already suffering financially and the schools forecasted to open have been slashed to 1/4 for this year. Close them sooner by boycotting them.
Put your money into traditional community colleges. You can get financial aid there, tutoring by real tutors, attention from people who care, counseling by teachers with Masters Degrees..any vocational program that you are taking at any FOR PROFIT college can be taken at community college for 1/10th of the tuition. Do yourself a favor - I wish I someone had told me this soon.

Let me guess, you couldnt keep up with the education, or didnt attend faithfully, Or, failed to complete your homework. OR, maybe you were dismissed from the program for your attitude. I too am an Everest College Graduate, and I am currently working in a Hospital, and climbing the corporate ladder. Its ME that did it, with the HELP of a diploma to get my foot in the door, Cause without it, I wouldn't have even gotten the interview. So, maybe you should not bash the school, but fix your OWN issues. Good luck in your future. :)

I'm sorry you had to learn all this the hard way, but you sound like an intelligent woman who has all of the qualities you need to get where you want in life once you get on the right track and with the right people.

However, Everest and ### like it will always be around. Everest used to be Bryman, and before that it was something else. Every time its sleazy reputation finally gets the best of it, it'll change its name yet again.

You want a rude awakening, check this site alone, much less the entire Internet, for Everest (enter it in the search without the Santa Ana part; you'll see all of the complaints that way).

I worked in the medical field for many years, and most high-quality, ethical practices would literally rather hire someone right off the street with zero education than one from Bryman, that's how awful it is.

Best of luck with your future, and please, always, always, ALWAYS check out any school, company, agency, etc. before signing your name or committing your money. Same with buying a car (or hopefully a home one day), accepting a job, etc.
Google the organization with terms like fraud, or lawsuit, or scam, or complaints.

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute College of Spam

Everest college is just spam college starting with their tv ads just annoying and way over marketed. However my experience with this college was out of interest was through some job i saw posted on monster by some company named Adeco which i think is some employment agency never use their service.

After i applied everest college spammed me with phone calls that only stopped after the 4th time when i yelled at them since every call i told them i was in college and was not interested little did that do. So finally the calls stop good thing but it got even more annoying they starting mailing these enrollment letters telling you mail it saying yes i want to do attend this college hell no am i wasting time to fill out a letter just to say no so i just threw it out. That was foolish they kept mailing me letters i have received 10 letters at the least i eventually called them again and told them to stop this time really frustrated that did no help still mailed me letters i got in contact with some dean at the school. Left a message never called me back and the letters still continue to come this college is by no means following the trend in the world by going green if it was emails id be fine but letters such a waste. Hasn't it occurred to anyone working there that i don't to attend this college can't even state a complaint just makes it worse that's how they get students spam them until they sing up bad business model terrible who would to go that school or who would hire a grad from that school with that principle

I too made the mistake of entering in my details thinking they were a reasonable or better still ' professionally minded' school. To my utter dismay and shocking consternation, I have received over 20 of their letters, hundreds of phone calls despite having repeatedly told them that I am and will never be interested in attending Everest.
Nowadays, I am getting a sense of fun at seeing their incoming calls and just pressing 'cancel' on my mobile phone before the call comes in. No one can force you to do anything you do not want to do, so reverse the trend and frustrate them by pressing 'cancel' anytime you see their incoming calls, and just throwing their mails in the trash can once you see them. Do not be bothered at all, I am so happy they have displayed themselves in this light, no one who has a sense of worth will ever apply to that school. They are very crude and live in a psychiatric warped time zone!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute mislead

I was also at Everest College and was so mislead, one of the staff had promised me a job out of this, I even thought of dropping out at one point because of a job offer and she told me to stay that i would be so good in the field of Community Worker and Addiction councellor, well when i finished she had no idea what i was talking about and I could not even find a job placement, nor did they help much, many places I tried they would not except anyone from Everest stating that the school had a bad reputation, i would like to start a law suit against them, if anyone else is interested here in Ottawa please email me at [protected]@yahoo.ca

I know of other students at Everest College who were allowed to wear tiny bikini bathing suits in order to help with covering up - it isn't much, but at least it is something. I'm surprised your instructors would not show you the same courtesy.
My experiences at Everest were bad - but not like yours.
BTW, you might want to read the fine print on the documents you signed before attending Everest - in Canada, we have some clauses about lawsuits against Everest - if you call the Law Society of Upper Canada, you can get a free 1/2 hour consultation (as far as I know) and then find out where you stand and if you have a case.
Good luck!

I am sure you will be able to find other people to go in on a law suit. I would, but I don' live in Canada. I wish you luck with getting your money back. Others have won and I have faith that you will as well. My story is as follows:
DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. I have been an exemplary student, on the presidents list, and was voted in January and February by the rest of the class for PRIDE. I started the massage therapy program in December. I just withdrew in March from Everest College's Massage Therapy program due to a situation that occurred the very first week of instruction. I was approached in the parking lot by a student. He wanted my phone number and asked me to come to his home for dinner, that he was having problems with his wife and just needed someone to talk to. He was aware that I was married because on the very first day of class, we went around the room and introduced ourselves. I said, "I am happily married, have two children, and two dogs..." I told him, first of all, my husband would not appreciate that and second this is not appropriate. I went to the director of the massage therapy program and told her that this student approached me, what he said and how I responded. She told me she can't kick him out and that I probably misinterpreted his intention. She further stated, "you are an adult, deal with it". Mind you, during lab, we are working on one another, naked, with only a sheet to cover our private areas. I was forced to work with him in lab and allow him to massage me. He was not getting the techniques, he was rubbing and caressing, not using the techniques as learned while the instructor watched as I squirmed. This student constantly asked me why I wouldn't talk to him. You would think he would have got the message, but he obviously has boundary issues. Fast forward to March. I overheard him telling another student that he was going through a divorce and that he would like to have her number and "go out". Having studied with her for the past three months, I knew how she was going to respond. She told him no. At that point, I had had enough and said "(name withheld), I am sorry you are having problems with your marriage, but you need to go home and fix your marriage and stop bringing your personal problems to school. This is not the place. The very next class day, I was approached by the director of massage therapy and my instructor, taken to her office and threatened. I was told that there had been complaints about me. I was then treated like a five year old and put in the corner against the wall. I am appalled at the way this was handled. I went to the President, Terri Hines, to file a complaint and was questioned and treated like a common criminal. I went to the police and am filing complaints with everybody and their brother! SICKENING!

I attended Everest North York campus for the Health, Fitness and Nutrition consultant, recently I graduated with a 92% average. Most would think that this is great but they would just be looking at the numbers. I was in class for 52 weeks, I had a teacher for 5 months who literally copied all of her notes from the textbooks and knew nothing of anatomy, physiology or biomechanics...so she just gave us the exam answers! When asked a question she would look for several minutes then say "I don't know but I'll look it up." and then always forgot to. She was a very nice person but a really bad teacher, several of the students complained, including me and there was never any outcome. I have graduated at the top of my class feeling inadequate and unqualified; needless to say I will be attending a REAL school for the exact same thing this coming fall. I am so ashamed that I was doped and gave triple the tuition to a school that taught me nothing and now I have to go to school for 2 more years and pay tuition all over again. The certification and information they offer is available for $400 and a week-end of your time through Can-Fit-Pro, my advice to anyone considering this course is to save the time and money and do it that way…or if you are like me and want to learn all you can go to Humber or George Brown, DO NOT GO TO EVEREST!
For sure I would go in on a law suit with you, I want my money back!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute False Information, Shady Practices

Hello, my name is Jenna and I have an AA Degree and going to pursue a BA, but thought that a certificate might be good as well. Here is my story, it is long, but worth the read for those of you seriously considering this school and fun for those of you that hate what this awful school has done to you!

So I saw the add on TV many times and decided to finally get some information. I was contacted immediately after requesting a brochure for Everest in SF and was surprised at how quickly they were able to set up an educational interview and tour. I went with my mom and husband and met with a recruiter named Colette Johnson. She was a sweetheart, but at the end of the day she is a liar like all the rest of them. We were shown OUT OF DATE, INACCURATE statistical information regarding the wages of graduates (from 2008). Thank God I have just finished a Statistics Class at my previous school and was able to recognize these ridiculous, false stats. So I gave the papers back to the recruiter and told her these papers are useless because it's not accurate information.

So, I was interested in 2 programs: Medical Assistant and Medical Billing and Coding. I was given a 15 question survey to see which choice was a better fit and it was Medical Assistant. Well, the program cost is like $16, 500 which is way too much for a Certificate in my opinion. I asked Colette about the courses, and she explained that after the courses there is an Externship, but the STUDENT has to find the site...which is a major red flag. And then she told us Career Services will help you to find a job after you graduate if you are unsuccessful on your own, but that you should make friends with those in that department because apparently they help the people they like better than the average Joe.

I have almost fallen for scams in the past (like Western Dental telling me I have 13 cavities and then a real dentist telling me I don't have any). I was very weary and made a comment to the recruiter saying "I just hope this place isn't like Western Dental where there are a lot of horror stories" and she says "Oh no we aren't like that, I promise! You know there are some schools that are like that and they've actually had to change their names because of the bad reputation!" and I said "really?" and she said "yeah! like western career college changed their name...and some others" and I said "Well, did Everest go under a different name at any time? How long has it been around?" and she laughed and goes "well actually (she laughs), it's funny because Everest is a part of Corinthian Colleges and used to be called Bryman, but they changed the name for their ow reasons; not because of any problems" OOPS! That was what made me decide to Google this place, Thank God.

After talking with the her, we were shuffled over to the Financial Aid department to talk with a guy named Dennis. He was a complete joke. He was nervous and I could tell right away that he was basically reading us a script. He did an estimate for the costs and took my tax info from 2009. I asked him if it needed to be combined with my parents income (because at the time I was not married, under age 24 and still living at home) OR with my husbands income b/c I was married last year and the guy DIDN'T KNOW! He took my wages alone and came up with a "TENTATIVE" Pell Grant figure. Then he put some government loan figures and at the bottom of the page only $1, 500 was left over and he said that is my final price to pay to the college. So he tried to make it sound like I was only paying $1, 500 of my money and hiding the fact that there were $9, 000 in gov't loans plus interest that I would have to pay back. I told him due to my husband's religion, we don't pay interest for anything and he kind of laughed b/c he thought it was a joke, which was offensive (FYI: Muslims don't believe in interest).
As the time approached 4pm, he said he had another appointment and we offered to go back to the recruiter and he said, "oh no it's fine, you guys are my number one priority right now, don't worry about it" and we continued until 4:10pm. I found it odd that he would just shrug off an appointment just to help a PROSPECTIVE ENROLLMENT. How much value does he give to current students? Obviously NONE! So that didn't sit well with me because I am one of those punctual people and I wouldn't want to be kept waiting if I had the appointment at 4.

After we left the Financial Aid we went back to talk to the recruiter. She asked us how everything looked so far and I told her straight up I won't pay that much money and we need to look at other grants or scholarships before making a commitment. She looked kind of disappointed and then brought over the Dean, Scott Marcelo or something, and that KID is a complete joke too! He must be 21 years old and he was nervous too. He asked how everything looked and I told him we will think about it. 2/3 of those people were nervous and unsure about what they were saying to us...how legit is that? Needless to say, I came home and looked up the reviews and have decided not to be a victim of this terrible scam.

Some things I'd like to point out is the recruiters make it sound like they are interviewing YOU, and they try to make it sound like you are a SOMEBODY. They try to make it sound like this "educational investment" is lifelong and worth it. Let me tell you, it's not! Colette and Dennis both have BA's (Chico and SF State) so I don't see how they can promote a worthless certificate or diploma when they themselves know a BA is more valuable!

I don't know how these people who work for Everest/Heald/Wyotech/ITT Tech/UOP/any other "for-profit" schools can sleep at night. They have absolutely NO INTEGRITY and are worthless ### for putting the less fortunate and those wanting to better their lives into further debt. The students I saw during the school tour were sitting by themselves at tables or in groups, and I didn't once see a teacher. Where's all that "hands-on" training, huh? A lot of the teachers aren't even teachers either, they are people with "work experience" so that means that they haven't been trained to teach properly. Don't fall for their lies; you will be worse off than you are right now if you go to this college.

Please, I beg ANYONE who even considers a "for-profit" school like any of the ones listed above to NOT GO THERE! They will put you into further debt and they LIE!
I IMPLORE you to go to a legitimate college! A Junior or Community College will save you so much time and money, and it will actually be better for your life. The "lifelong investment" that Everest boasts is THEIR FINANCIAL INVESTMENT since you will be indebted to them FOR LIFE! Please, do NOT give them your money and support this corporation of rich, low life losers.

To those of you who defend these types of schools, YOU OBVIOUSLY WORK FOR THE SCHOOL! I mean, at least be smart and change your typing styles, you are so obvious. If I could think of a better insult term to insult you people, I would! But for now, ### is the lowest thing I can think to call you sick, demented, no compassion, life destroying, EVIL people! I would like to protest in front of this school, even though I am not a victim, it's important to stand up for what you believe, and I am very passionate about the public knowing the truth. So anyone wanna get together and protest in front of this school, e-mail me. [protected]@hotmail.com

To all those who posted and warned others of the shenanigans going on at Everest - I applaud you! If only I'd read your reviews prior to attending - it would have saved me a lot of grief, time and money spent. Alas, I graduated with honours and now fear that I won't secure gainful employment.
I hope that others read your posts and pick a community college over a private college - private colleges are for profit and their Reps are consummate sales artists and from what I've seen on job postings hiring the Reps, they make their money by commission, so it is to be expected that they'll promise you everything to get you to sign up. Take my advice: "Buyer beware!"

All of these for-profit programs are scams. I was a pharmacy tech while I was in college (real college) and made $15/hour and got trained on the job for free. We used to feel sorry for the ones who spent thousands of dollars on a worthless piece of paper ("certificate of achievement, " which is NOT a degree) to get the same crappy dead-end job for the same pay that we had. The commercials are lies and propaganda to trick you into thinking that these worthless programs are going to give you an edge and get you a great high-paying respectable job. Sorry, but you can work in a produce department in a grocery store for more money than most of these hourly-paid "careers, " and you don't need to spend 25, 000 dollars to do it. Tricking people into taking out a loan of that size so that you can make a quick buck by exploiting their dream of bettering themselves is evil. Definitely go to a community college in your area and avoid Everest or any other for-profit "certificate" program like the plague. Always make sure that the program you are entering is going to give you something to show for it, i.e. an actual associate's or bachelor's degree, not a diploma that says "Yup, you went to class."

Hello Jenna,
My name is Jennifer, and like you I thought that getting my degree in paralegal would be great. I was planning on doing the on line classes at home b/c the closest online school was in Colorado Springs. They tell you that you would be able to work at your own pass, that they would be there whenever you needed them. Today is 4/27/11 with that in mind, I enquired about online schooling on 4/18/11 and it wasn't just from Everest that I recieved calls from, that very day. My classes were to start that following Monday. I had no books and they promised to send you a new laptop with all the programs that you would need on it...LOL...When I asked about the laptop and when I would be recciving it they said "oh you don't get one for at least 6 to 8 weeks." so tell me how was I suppose to do my homework with no books, no laptop, no instructors in the class room, no return emails from instrutors, no way of talking to the team mates that you were assigned to. I am so glad that I had my aunt watching out for me. She was the one that found the link and sent to me.
But I choose to go through them. As of yesterday I had them disenroll me, and I immediately called Fairmont State College.
Want to know the good part I can go to school there for 4 years and it will only cost me half of they wanted me to pay for 2 years.
This morning I called our local news station "WBOY" channel 12 news and I spoke to a reporter. She thought that this would make a grate story to inform people about on-line school scams, but I can't do it alone Because I didn't stay long enough to be scammed like alot of you out there. Please contact me at any time day or night if you wish to help me help others by showing them what these schools are doing to us...taking our money and giving nothing back in return. You can contact me by e-mail noblondhere2000@yahoo.com or you can call me @[protected] My name is Jennifer McIntire PLEASE help me get these Scammers out of our world.

My AA degree got me a great job actually, I am just pursuing a further education and thought a certificate might be helpful. I'm already in the process of completing my BA now. If you look at the rates of Everest's placement and retention rates, you would see that their statistics are inaccurate and their price is insanely overpriced. Their units are worthless and in the end you are stuck with so much debt in government loans that it will take you years to pay off.

I am only pissed off now about their school because of all the lies they said right to my face. They think they can mislead people and that nobody will notice...well I was not fooled. I am pissed because they send me e-mail after e-mail after I've already e-mailed TWO people and called twice to stop emailing or contacting me! Yet, a different person calls me or my husband every other day. They are a marketing school and everyone should know the truth.

"For some people, they have no hope of graduating with any type of degree or certificate. If you could see the faces of people who have no hope and stand in their shoes." --If you could see their faces during/after they graduate, most have a worse life than when they started! Read the Everest statistics they try to show you upon enrolling. It's the most bogus, out of date, misleading "school" I've ever had the displeasure of visiting. Go visit and observe the students during classes.

A junior/community college is much better because there are way more advantages than disadvantages. The advisers actually advise you and financial aid is knowledgeable. When I was at Everest and I asked about financial aid, the guy claimed not to know anything about financial aid except for the Pell Grant, gov't loans, and Genesis loans. Yet when we talked about his personal education and his scholarships, he was overly knowledgeable. Funny...when it comes to his job he can only set you up with 3 (2/3 crappy) options!

A big shout-out to my wonderful math teacher who taught me the value of statistics which inadvertently rescued me from this scam. By the way, I know plenty of people who got their AA within 2 years and it cost them around $2, 000-3, 000. And their units are transferable. And when you call the school they call you back. And they help you with resume writing. Everest and any other for-profit is a waste.

They said I was approved for financial aide via FASFA, nothing was applied and I was not permitted to see my own financial records. I was charged more for the massage therapy course than I was initially told. I was told that they helped with job placement, but when I inquired, I was told that that was a mistake and that they do not help massage therapy students. They were sorry but did not know that when I started as it was a relatively new program to them in 2004. My credits did not transfer to ANYWHERE, even though I graduated .04% from being valadictorian. I am still paying for this education that I recieved 8 years ago, but no employers honor education from this source and neither do national organizations. This class wasn't even taught in a way that anything that was on the national boards exam was known. Very disappointing. For 8 years and counting, I am an advocate of NOT attending this school and I have shared my story with countless people and many high school students and counselor/advisors to discourage anyone from waisting their time and money as I have. I am a single Mother of 4 children, who was working a full time job and going to school, with nothing to show but debt. Thank you for taking advantage of people and I hope kharma comes back around.

These Everest recruiters are not there for you. They are that used car salesmen who know they Will Sell YOU a LEMON. I have had many run-ins with this "institute" LOL more like mental institute for those ignoramuses who work there. I often get this sneaky vibe from them. Oh they want to help me yet they call up my phone so much I have to turn it off. If the school was reputable there would be no need then they try to lure you in with FREE DENTAL BENEFITS if your a student, Everything they are is sly and underhanded. I;m blessed to say after all those close ins I never officially attended because of my gut feeling. They Will Rub YOU the Wrong Way all you hve to do is slow it all down and take it all in. Don't get rushed into anything. Its YOUR Choice, YOUR LIFE if they can't Respect that then it's time for you to bounce. People always taking advantage of those who Appear to be Weaker. My Ghetto/Project/Poor people Rise Up! Don't get blinded by Fool's Gold. Don't feel down on yourself either We are TRU GOLD ... God Speed Souljahs :)

Dear Everest,

My name is Johnathan Mackintosh and i have a complaint about the order of french fries i got yesterday. I found a fried ball inside the order of french fries i bought from everest. This ball was accidently eaten but i realized what i found in my food is not what i ordered and was very very discusting. I would like to pursue this atrocity to the full extent. If there is a better way to inform the right people about my complaint contact me on my email.johnathanmackintosh92@gmail.com

I somewhat agree with your oppinion, but it also sounds like your AA degree got you nowhere and you are already upset beforehand. For some people, they have no hope of graduating with any type of degree or certificate. If you could see the faces of people who have no hope and stand in their shoes. Community and Jr Colleges have the worst placement, graduation and retention rates of any educational institution, to give that advice means that you have no idea of how education works. It saves them time, I guess if you like taking 3+ years to get an AA degree? Very few people graduate with AA degree in 2 years, research it. I know of people who have been attending 4-6 years still trying to get AA degree, courses are overfilled, or not available during summer session and they do not accomodate. Please Wake UP!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute SERIOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL

I applied to Everest College to do the ADDICTIONS COUNSELLING course offered. Upon completing the "evaluation" for entrance, I was told I scored very high, making me feel very proud, until I soon realized, everyone else in the school were pretty much told the same. That was my first bubble to be burst.

So I settled into class thinking it would be a good experience. Soon I realized I would pretty much be teaching myself. My "teachers" (2 in the course of a year) had so much curriculum to teach in such a short time, we were basically expected to teach ourselves from the course books. This was frustrating considering we had an exam and assignments every week. That was my second bubble burst.

With Everest's 4 intakes a year (how often they bring in new students), the class was constantly disrupted. I was very disappointed to find students were allowed to BRING THEIR CHILDREN INTO THE CLASSROOM. Topics discussing adult addictions are not meant for children, and children are not meant for adult learning classrooms.

I was then told I needed to complete CPR and First Aid training, which I also completed with "exceptional grades" LOL. Now my confidence was soaring! Until I found out that they lost all paperwork showing I ever took CPR training. This took several months to straighten out. More and more bubbles bursting.

Then I was told they would do everything within their power to get me a placement, but just in case, I should do some scouting. Which I did. And they didn't. I ended up getting my own placement, luckily.

Then I wrote my final exam. Received a verbal invitation to my graduation, and then was told there was NO ROOM FOR ME TO ATTEND MY OWN GRADUATION. (Which, by the way, was set up, served and cleaned up by the teachers.)

So thanks to Everest, I dished out $10, 000 and got NOTHING BUT DISAPPOINTMENT.

I NOW WORK IN AN ACCOUNTING JOB (that, I might add, I found by myself), PAYING BACK $10, 000.

Thanks Everest.

Their service is the worst I have ever encountered...I went into the Brampton- Main Street Branch and waited for about 10 min. for one of their staff member ( Anamika) to finish a personal conversation on her cell phone to attend to us only to be told that I visit their website and get information, or we can wait about an half hour so she can take a break and then come back and answer our question...

Worst service

Wow...after reading all the negative and the positive remarks about Everest..now it makes me wonder if its worth signing up for the program and I was thinking of enrolling myself with the Dental Assistant .I was at the Everest here in Brampton, Ontario just recently, and did sat down with the advisor, she was very nice and well explained, makes you want to go ahead with the green light, and when I finally met with the financial advisor, starts to explain me what my options are, and suggested me that Ontario Student Loan is the best option for me and by looking at the number's ( tuition) which is very heavy..I finally told them that I have to go home and think this fully before I make my decision. Let me do my research and let you know..and of course they wrote on the card the time and day for my next appointment to see them. So I told them I will get back with you.. Now I don't even know whether if its worth enrolling, its just gives me chill after reading most of the comments and reviews online...Is it worth going there? and pay $13, 000? is it guarantee that you will find placement/job after you graduate?..now I wonder and not sure...?

So far since I started Everest in September, it has been nothing but a bad experience for myself. All employees are very unprofessional! You can have a question, ask 10 people, 9 of them will refer you to another person and the 10th has no clue what you are talking about. They almost come across like a marketing company... they "sell" us. I am taking a course to become a Personal Support Worker, and have to hear good things from fellow students who have graduated from Everest in the same field. They are also horrible at problem solving, as my classroom has to be the most disrespectful bunch that I have ever met in my life time! As long as everybody is getting paid, it really doesn't matter how bad a situation is. If I had my time back, I would have never chosen a private college, expecting to be a bit more personal and less crammed then our "community" colleges, I honestly thought I would have benefited from this place! Now I'm just fearful of a debt that I will be struggling to pay! I would never recommend this school to anybody who is wanting to make a positive change in their life to provide for themselves and or their families. JUST GO TO SHERIDAN COLLEGE, they cost thousands of dollars less and also guarantee 100% hiring success rate from your placement!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute THEY ARE LIARS!!!

I applied at Everest 2 years ago, and the things i had to see or better yet go threw was way to ridiculous. There was a fight everyday(we even had security to sit in the class) our teacher up and quit then was replaced with an unqualified teacher who taught us NOTHING but despite all the drama and lack of Teaching I managed to get straight A's. Well I was 2 months and a ex tern away when I found out I was pregnant. I talk to the Dean and also the instructors about this because I was hospitalized(because of pregnancy) and they assured me I could come back because of my grades and not having any other missed days the entire time I was there.During the whole pregnancy I kept in contact with my instructor and the program overseer, so I assumed everything was all good, until I made the call for my return and was told I had to start the program completely over but still pay for the first time and would have to take out a second loan to re enter. THIS SCHOOL SUCKS!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Bad College; Ripoff!

This college is TERRIBLE! I started out in the Las Vegas location when it was called "Las Vegas College". In the middle of my program, they moved the campus to Henderson, which was an additional 30 minutes one way to get there. They did not offer any compensation for the move. Then, to make it worse, the Henderson campus did not offer all of the Accounting courses. I was FORCED to take online classes. There were a few instructors who taught us how to "dummy" books and accounts! When I took my complaints to the office, not a single person took me seriously! I OVERPAID for a crappy education, and NO assistance to help me find a job! The commercials are all lies! I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here! It makes me sick to my stomach that I have to pay for this worthless piece of paper. Another thing that happened, at the graduation ceremony some genius instructor left the Honor chords laying on a table and students who didn't even earn them were taking them! So when it was their turn to walk, they were called "With Honors". This place is unprofessional and miserable. I will be talking with my lawyers and the BBB so this doesn't continue happening. You can't get away with this just because you changed your name!

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Complete ripoff

We got student loans totalling $15, 000 because we were promised help with job placement. My wife completed her class, but has not gotten any job referrals, leads, or any other assistance. We probably are stuck with the student loan bill, but if we can help deter anyone else from wasting their money on these scam artists, it will be worth it. Go to a real accredited school. Thank you and be careful.

Oh and by the way.. My loan is actually 17, 000 dollars :-)
Also, people looking at the field of dental assisting are better off getting trained in a dental office for $12/hr starting off pay than having to have a 17, 000 loan on your back while you're also waiting a long time to find a job as you're frustrated trying to figure out how you're going to pay that loan off HAVING FOUND NO JOB!

I totally regretted ever attending Everest Institute after now having to struggle looking for a job BY MYSELF! Reality is that in life, you're always going to have looking for a job for yourself and the best job opportunities I've seen so far are looking for experience. Everest Institute or ANY Institute for that matter CANNOT provide the experience you need.
Experience comes over time and Institutes only offer programs that only last for a couple of months and not just that. They don't offer the REAL hands-on you need !
You need to get out there in the real world and EXPERIENCE the work. So sad to say but Everest Institute could only MAYBE help you get an OKAY job. Nothing too big. You can't really get a good job without REAL hands-on experience in the real world.
It's a harsh reality that people should really think about BEFORE signing the papers..

Unfortunately it happened to me also. After being unemployed for almost two years, I decided to consider changing career field.
I went to Everest for my MIBC (medical insurance billing and coding) and was promised help in find employment. But the only help I got from this place was referral for a front desk positions paying around $9.00 to $10.00 p/hour, where even after going to a couple of interviews, I was told to my face that I was either over qualified or did not enough experience.
I told the career coordinator at Everest that to find a front desk position paying that salary, I did not need to spend $15K for it and did not need any help find one because I could have gone to work in a supermarket!
** The teachers at that school are a joke and most do not teach anything. I regret having consider attend Everest Institute, now I am stuck with this huge debt and continue with no job whatsoever!

What you need to do is contact your telephone company, Let them know you have requested on numerous occasions to stop calling, They are still calling.
some tele companies have a number you push after you have hung up on the offender, After a certain amount of offences to your number, they will have service disconected, If there telephone company is different, at least you will have a documented number of calls to report to the police, the police have to respond to it, Its called harassment, and it is against the law,
Regester a complaint with the better buseness bereu.

send them a regestered letter advising them that the calls ned to stop or legal action will be the next course of action.
When you send a regestered letter to them, send one to yourself, , DO NOT OPEN YOURS!..leave your letter sealed ..when you goto court they can try and say they lost theres and were not aware, , , you will need the letter to persue any law suit..

hope this helps, , , good luck.

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Complaint about Complaints

At Everest College we endeavor to relay to students the importance of professionalism. One of these points would be that if a student has a complaint or concern that they address it with the individual it is appropriate to complain to. In this manner the concern can be properly addressed. To post on a virtual bulletin board is not fair as it has not been directed to the individuals that might be able to rectify or even verify that the complaint is true. In the working world, this is how business is done. The complaint I viewed was 2 years old and although had detail, it is unfair to publicy criticize others when there is no avenue to express the other side. This college takes its students seriously, and the educational process seriously. I encourage my students to express all comments and we deal with them as they arise. Prospective students should think about what they are reading and whether it reflects the truth or not.

Almost finished the program and still no Pell Grant. I am afraid this school is stealing it from me. I hope to get some help from the 1-800-FED-INFO. They tried to talk me out of receiving the extra funds to the point it was suspicious. They also lied about providing free continuing education classes and discontinuing day classes so I would sign up for night classes. Neither of those were true, and now I'm wondering if they changed my paperwork.

I recently thought about making a new career path and checked out this school just last week for the dental assisting program. The school campus itself is fairly one year and half new and seemed to me to be a okay despite the fact that its located in Green Briar Mall of parking lot of Atlanta. I am not so keen on that area of town. They took me on a tour. As I walked around the instructors looked more stranger than anything. But at the very end of my meeting with the counselor(and I hadn't even yet decided that I was going to make a decision on spot to go there) she urshered me straight over to financial aid which I thought was kind of quick. With that being said they only gave me an estimate of what the program would cost because I said that I had to rush off. I was already there near two hours just to discuss the program. Class starts March 27th; I have applied finished my financial aid and listed Everest but after finding this complaint board today I don't think this will be a great move in school choice so after today I will be looking elsewhere.

I just found this complaint board this morning. I have since completed my financial aid app and have no problems with getting grants and loans.

Everest is not a good school. I am attending now and have been totally thrown around! I never get any help from financial aid about my loans that have not yet been Disbursed. They talk to u like u are 5 or 6 years old. You have to do so many things within one week! I also learned that I have an extra loan out that I knew nothing about. Now I am trying to get out of this bad situation and enroll into jr college in my city and I can't. Also the same course at the jr college ony calls for a pell grant which doesnt have to be paid be back! Everest took 3 loans and a pell grant! Do not sign up for this school and I've tried addressing the right person with my problems but no return calls or e-mails so whoever made the comment of addressing the correct person should be ashamed of themselves!

Everest is run by idiots for idiots, I graduated top 5% of my class in Network Admin. its been 1 year and no help from these idiots to getting me a job . It took 6 months to get my Diploma and 11 months to get my vouchers and then they tell me that I waited to long and I would have to pay for the vouchers myself. I just finished paying 19, 000 dollars to these IDIOTS and they have the nerve to say they would only pay for 2 of the 5 vouchers. I am in the process of forming a class action suit against Everest. So last but not least the instructors in our school (Ontario East Campus) not one of them is certified to teach .It says in there contract that if your instructors are not qualified to teach your program you are entitled to a full refund of your money. Everest is an American company scamming the Canadian people and our government allows them the operate this way. While I was attending Everest all the lab equipment was at least 8-9 years old if not older . The funny thing was one of our teachers if you can call them that was a graduate from a medical class at Everest and he was teaching my class with not 1 certification, how is that possible . Everest just cares about one thing MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY . YOU CAN ALL GO TO HELL . THIS SCHOOL BY FAR WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER ATTENDED. YOU GUYS AT EVEREST SHOULD BE SHOT FOR STEALING MONEY FROM CANADIANS.

SICKENING!

Well, a few things stick out to me here. I have not gone to Everest personally. I ALMOST went, for Medical Office Administration. Luckily, I did not as I was not elegible for OSAP without lying. (Which, by the way, they tried to get me to do...) The course was insanely overpriced, more than 3x of a comparable course at a "real", government funded college. (I chose Centennial College for my studies.) The fact that if you type "Everest College" into Google, the first "suggested search" adds the word SCAM to the end, speaks volumes.

The staff are less educated than kindergarten teachers. You have to go to UNIVERSITY, for YEARS, to teach 5 year olds how to glue macaroni. Instructors at Everest really need to do no more than graduate Everest's program or work in the field for a few years. It's a disgrace.

All these people would not be complaining for no reason. No other school has such a rotten reputation as CDI/Everest. Why? Because they earned it through shoddy teaching and shoddy practices. I have to bite my tongue SO OFTEN when people tell me they are going to this school. I don't want to seem a know-it-all, but an Everest diploma is not worth the paper its printed on.

I know a few people who have completed. One finished a paralegal course, and works at Dairy Queen. Another completed dental assisting and now cuts hair at Wal-Mart. Another who did dental assisting who works at a used appliance store. Get my drift?

They accept people into their courses who can barely formulate a sentence, throw a bunch of information at them, and call them a "dental assistant". I sure as hell wouldn't let any Everest grad anywhere near my teeth! I know of two more family members currently enrolled. I have to bite my tongue. One in massage therapy who complains about the instructors, another who is dumber than a bloody doornail but is going to be a "dental assistant". God help that persons teeth.

Point being, go elsewhere. There are legitimate colleges that have flexible hours who are more than happy to work with a willing individual.

Funny, Everest only wants to talk to you when it's convenient for them. Obviously this college is the biggest joke with the worst reviews if they have to PAY PEOPLE to come onto these complaint boards to post nice things about the school. You people are pathetic and I hope working for Everest reflects negatively on your resume.

And what should one do when all of your avenues have been exhausted. I have been trying to strainghten something out with Everest and no one has the decency to get back to me. They are the most unprofessional organization I have ever dealt with.

Altierus Career College / Everest Institute Internal Employee Complaint

I work at Everest and can not believe the incompetent people that they hire. First of all, they overlook educated and qualified current employees to hire friends and family. There is a Regional Director of Student Finance who got his twin brother who was a Police Office a Director position. There is another Director who worked in a default dept. in a mortgage company, she was a bill collector and now she is a Regional Director making over $100, 000 a year salary. There is Regional Director of Admissions who husband and son work there. There is a husband and wife duo there who are Directors and one's father works there. There are two ways to get to the top by being a family member or by sleeping with a key person. The people at the top are just collecting salaries over $65, 000 a year and some do not even have college degrees let alone a Masters Degree. This place is stealing money from the poor, women, and minorities. The bosses let the employees work on the weekends while they do not even bother to show up. They do not promote from within or try to recruit qualified people from local area colleges and universities. They use there power to hire friends and family from industries that have no relations to education. They run this place in constant chaos. No one knows anything about how to run a college and really does not care if one student stays in school. The Admissions people only care if you stay 30 days so they can get credit for the sale. Yes, it is only about dollars for Everest. I would not my dog go to this school. I hate the day that I ever accepted the job offer to work here. This place is a ZOO. Folks why not go to a community college and get your degree. You will be so in debt when you leave here. Many do not know that G. Bush passed the law before he left office that they can take your Social Security check when you retire. This schools degree is worthless. Please do not go to Everest in ANY state, anywhere. I am looking for a job as fast as I can. I can not sleep at night knowing the BS that Admissions tells students everyday. They tell you want you want to hear. This school is a farce, I am speaking as an employee that works here now. I have not been fired. I make over $55, 000 a year and I have no college degree to lie to people everyday. They pay me to lie to you. I am tired of lying people. I have been lying to you for 5 years each and everyday.

I am willing to bet that those who say they dont agree with your complaints are regional directors from Everest. Even they themselves know what they are doing is wrong but the money is good for most position. I have heard many complain about the very things that they practice to keep their jobs. PS- this police officer brother who was promoted to Director, is now magically a regional director. Everest online fails to understand the concept of MORALE' when you over work your employees, they are not happy which leads to more room for crooked practices. They ask many employees to work seven days a week and have no interest in maintaing a work life balance. Those in admissions become sick at times and often have anxiety attacks, yet all their managers worry about is not being able to pull sales for the day. This company has good intentions somewhere down the line, however their Regional directors, Trainers, and Managers are so incompetent they do nothing to better the company . All they are worried about is befriending and/or sleeping with the right person to further their career. Dont bother over anylizing this by counting every grammatical error in sight, the fact still remains Everest if full of crooked management and business practices.

Nice to here, Your not leaving any postive room for newly hired employees with a college education like myself. But thanks for clearing up my concerns about what the future holds with this company for me. I have only been there a month and the training was very poor. I really thought, I was going to make a difference in the students lives; consequently, I will just utilize this job and the little 35k as a stepping stone. Your making 55k and you don't have a degree! Wow ...I wondered what my co-workers made...THIS IS A DAM SHAME...here it is I am busting my you know what in college, working and your making WHAT! and you don't even have a degree...wow... That just goes to show you do not have to spend 50k for a degree...I guess it is who you know...not what you know or accomplished...That is just a wonderful thing...

I agree in what she is saying because I have experienced some of the flaws of the school. You can't talk to the person you need to talk to.
No emails returned or phone calls. You asked them a certain question and it's like they try to avoid giving you a straight answer.

I think this employee should refrain from giving thoughts! Sleepness nights are coming near you! Just keep in mind you are no bette than anyone you have spoke upon. I'm thinking you should find another job, that's degree free! In a sense I can feel your pain (not trying to sound contradiciting) about the "it's who you know, not what you know"...but the moment of truth will set you free! Ethics, morals, and pride is something we should consider. I will have my degree soon from Everest and have no complaints...a coulpe jobs already lined up for me! Good luck with finding another job, you have enough experience to apply at another College ;) GOOD LUCK

I understand that a job can be very challenging at times but there is no excuse for a person to be fake and lie about a company or school that they work for. It's funny as to how you say you been there for 5 years and continue to work there and provide these "false" and "misleading" tactics to your students. So what does that say about you as a person? And for someone to be making $55k a year with NO degree is a blessing. I make more than that and its becuase Im grateful. However, good luck finding a job in this economic down-turn! I hope you have a good resume since you don't have a college degree. It sounds like you are bitter for not being promoted or not given a raise. Well good luck! BTW I have my MBA from Everest and I'm living very well... its upto the employers on who they decide to employ not the school. Its about selling yourself, of which I did that landed me to where I am today. So I believe that their degree is worth something... and what is it with all the grammatical errors?

So are you going to give back the $55k you have earning a year since you know that you have been lying to people for the last five years. How can YOU sleep at night or spend the money you earned from lying in good conscious? Make sure you email every student you have lied to a personal apology since you feel so much remorse. If things are as bad as you claim, you are no better than the powers that be, because you recognize these flaws and still deliver them to students everyday. Hypocrite! Matthew 7:5
