Etsy merchandise not delivered? consumers beware etsy's no refund policy!

Case #[protected]. On 2/28/19 I purchased a $69 ring on Etsy website. The vendor is in India. Five weeks later the tracked location of the merchandise was still New Delhi, India. So, on 4/3/19 I requested a refund, which Etsy denied, 4/14/19.
Note: Etsy's only payment service provider is PP. Etsy contracts with vendors internationally to produce and deliver customer merchandise. The vendor, w/wo Etsy involvement, is responsible to secure reliable delivery service (UPS, DHL, other). Also to insure the merchandise before relinquishing it for delivery service. Etsy's position regarding denial of my refund is absurd! "Etsy's policies do not hold sellers responsible for shipping delays or errors as long as the seller is able to prove that they shipped the order...We recommend that you contact the shipping service for assistance with locating the package." The merchandise was never delivered. At no point in time was it ever mine. My folly was doing business with Etsy, in the first place.

Wow, this is just pure comic relief! Did you contact PayPal to contest the charge from Etsy? Or did you just go right to this board to start a complaint?!? I'll break it down for you in layman's terms: no one gives a crap about your complaints. We would all rather hear of your successes and how to properly handle these kinds of situations, as opposed to your negative & feeble-minded attempt to resolve said situation. I mean c'mon now, there is more than 1 way to skin a cat y'know?!?

Etsy case #505357630644, order #1421632922 handmade jewelry order

On 2/28/19 I purchased a $69 ring through Etsy website. The vendor is in India.
On 4/3, I requested a full refund because after 5 weeks, the last tracking location of merchandise was New Delhi, India. Although its the vendors responsibility to secure a reliable delivery service provider, also to insure merchandise b4 relinquishing it for delivery service in the event that it is lost or stolen, Etsy refused my refund request: "Etsy's policies do not hold sellers responsible for shipping delays or errors, as long as the seller is able to prove that they shipped the order... We recommend that you contact the shipping service for assistance with locating the package." This position is absurd! PayPay was eventually able to secure my refund.

Etsy seller complaint

I opened an Etsy shop approximately 9 months ago. A friend, who had been doing business with Etsy for several years, helped me to open the shop and helped me to list the items I wanted in my shop. Recently, my shop was shut down. Even though Etsy claimed to have sent me an e-mail, they did not. They sent that e-mail to my friend. She has violated Etsy policy. Because her IP address was used to log into my shop, Etsy not only shut her down, they shut me down too. I contacted Etsy and only received automated responses from Etsy legal. I question if they actually have employees in that department as I would send a message stating that I had never received an e-mail from them and did not have any associated shops. The response was always "check the e-mail we sent to you for the information'. I would reply "I didn't get an e-mail from you" and the response was "check the e-mail we sent to you for the information". I think the respondent is either a computer or a terribly lazy employee. After getting nowhere with legal, I filed a dispute with Etsy. The note I received after the dispute was filed said that someone would be in touch with me when my dispute was reviewed by the legal staff. I went into the dispute center to check the status of my dispute and guess what? The dispute was marked "Complete" and I NEVER received any communication at all from Etsy. In addition, they are holding my last pay for 6 MONTHS AND I DID NOTHING WRONG! I guess they can scam some interest $ on my money for the next 6 months. My items were custom made and nothing could be returned after 30 days so there was no reason to hold my money for 6 months! Etsy has also taken from seller's bank account (google search for February 22, 2019) and are now skimming money from the top of sellers accounts. Sellers are setting a minimum charge for Etsy services and Etsy is over charging those folks by a penny or so each time they provide the service (which is multiple times a day). With hundreds of thousands of sellers, they are making a killing stealing from their sellers! Etsy is the most unethical company I have every had the non-pleasure of working with. This business is a cesspool of unethical behavior and unscrupulous business practices.

Etsy account deposits

These idiots need to be shut down. No phone number to contact them for account issues and emails get unanswered or go in circles of not answering questions or complaints. They have literally held my deposits hostage since 2018. They blame it on my bank but they are depositing than retracting. I have sent numerous emails only to get some so sorry return emails after a 2/3 day circle jerk. Anyone else with this issue? I want to file a class action.

Etsy etsy removed me items for sale after being paid 480.00 worth of listings 2488 of them.

Etsy wrongfully suspend my account 14 days early. When I paid what they wanted and they only put 774 of my items back on. 2488 items where not put back on..20 each.
I called them and told them what happen. they wanted me to check my email and had no emails form them.
He said Etsy made a mistake on my listings being removed and said it would be fixed soon as possible.
Well still waiting for my listings to be fixed. Lost wages this week over it and about 480.00 in listings gone. I am not relisting 2488 items to be charged again.
So I will be filing papers and going to court.
My sales are zero this week normally it would be 25 or more items go out. $400.00.
This account is over 10 years old. And is totally destroyed my sales.
I called back and they say there working on it. But no listings back been 2 days.

Etsy scentsationalbyalli

On Nov. 28th 2018 order was placed on line for Soy Wax Melts by this company. I ordered this product and the estimated delivery was suppose to be by Dec. 3-6, as of now I have not received my order. I have sent several emails requesting status of my order from this company, but have not received a reply from the seller. I am now getting frustrated and feel like maybe I have been scammed.

Etsy incorrect order sent

On the 11/10/18 I placed an order with this company for a piece of word art. They replied more or less straight away but I noticed that I had incorrectly spelt one of the words. I emailed them back and asked for this to be changed. They said there would be a £2 fee for this which I felt was a bit odd, however they changed it and sent me an updated copy which I said was ok. However, when I received my order it was the incorrect one. I have emailed them but they have ignored this. It is a present and I am most upset by this. I find it amazing that when placing an order they would get back to me within minutes but when asking for something to be rectified I am just ignored. I would appreciate it if you could look into this for me as I feel this is unacceptable.

Etsy stolen intellectual property

This site allows sellers to steal content and data from Etsy sellers and probably other sites on the internet, I have seen several of my designs and customer photos on this site being used without my permission and underselling my shop.

The photo is of my Etsy shop and I have seen photos from my site on the Wish site by a few of their sellers being sold for a fraction of what I sell for.

This is bold and dis-respectful. The model shown in the pic is wearing my design and logo without my permission.

This site is a fraud and should be shut down.

Etsy seller's complaint

I am a seller in Etsy for 4 years, everything works fine until last year. My account was suspended, the reason is I have to submit bank account information and my Passport ID for identification. After that, I reopened my shop in beginning of Year 2018. However, it run for a month and the same thing happened again!
The most terrible thing is, I am being charged for the beginning of the year's Jan-Now but my shop only worked for 1 month! The amount is huge. I have no ways out, due to I cannot wait their slow complaint response, I 've chose to clear the 'BALANCE" (which is not supposed to pay) and shut down my account immediately, becox this is the conditions of shut down my account! this is So rediclious ! I have no choice, just to stop any extra amount adding up in my suspending account!

Be careful seller in Etsy, and I would like to know if anybody facing the same tragic, .

Etsy service/ the worst would not recommend

People be ware! Do not open your business with ETSY CORP they will shut your shop down in a heart beat and not care that you quick your job to become a full time ETSY seller. Also people do not buy from ETSY very un professional the way they handle orders everyones information is exposed do not buy from here! Your personal info is exposed very dangerous !

Etsy seller complaint

I am putting in a complaint against seller (xlr8imports)! I am so furious that people can just talk to people any way they feel and please. All I did was contact the seller to see if he can expedite an item I was interested in buying since I need it within a certain time frame and his/her response to me was "please do not purchase this item and do not contact me again". I mean really? Why is such a mean and degrading seller still allowed to sell on Etsy and better yet what gives them the right to speak with me like that? I want the seller removed if they dont apologize or I will make a remove with BBB and consumer dept. Unacceptable! I have proof of conversation if needed.

horrible Etsy vendor experience I had. Here is my review over a disputed item

Firstly, it should be stated that this vendor was most disrespectful anfd inappropriate in response to my inquiry about what was pictured Vs. what was sold. Here are excerpts from her offensive response:
"I should have know you would try this. You are either intentionally doing this, or you did not read the listing description and common sense didn't step in and tell you that this listing is probably not for all of those items for only $6. ...Im sure you already know this unless you've been living under a rock away from society for the last 30 years"

A simple and professional response to educate me as the buyer that she did not provide a photo of just the item for sale (as she should have done) would have been the proper response. This vendor should be contacted by Etsy regarding appropriate customer service.

Etsy poor service, lousy quality jewelry

I should have taken a close look at the reviews posted on the BeeBee Design Studio facebook page. All the reviews were 5 stars and spontaneously appeared within hours despite the existence of the site for years. The Etsy account also made it clear only a few pieces were sold over the better part of a decade. I got beaded overpriced garbage. When I complained of the poor work & was verbally abused and refused a refund. The owner of the site deleted my complaints from her review page & replaced them with 15 phony 5 star reviews. She's a con artist not a craftsman.

I have attached screenshots that a rape victim advocate friend of mine found of Craig Hingley on a comment board of a story about Bill Cosby, admitting that he's falsely libeling me. This should be enough to help anyone reading this to understand this man is targeting and harassing me with libel.

If that's not enough, simply note the escalation in his claims on this review alone: First, he claims he was "verbally abused", then when I produce evidence that he created false accounts and reviews, he escalated his claims to "death threats". Also, he first claimed I "refused him a refund", then he escalated it to "I stole his identity". First he's only referring to me, Brandy Betts of BeeBee Designs. Now, he's using terms like "they". Who are "they"?

Of course, none of this happened in the first place. I just want readers to note that he changes his claims throughout this review process, which clearly demonstrates he's lying, and furthermore he's not right in the head. If someone stole your identity and sent you death threats, you'd lead out with that in your initial review. Instead, when he's outed as lying, he tries to "up the ante" by making his story more dramatic. This is nonsense. This man is nothing but a lunatic with an obsessive vendetta, as I'm sure everyone can see by now.

Mr. Hingley is welcome to produce this "proof" he has of my "using identity theft accounts" to promote my business. He may produce this "proof" he has of me sending him death threats. This site allows attachments. So let's see them, and let customers decide for themselves.

They sent me death threats. Is Robert Harrington some sort of etsy goon? Does this seem like the behavior of 5 star professionals. I've received death threats from individuals associated with these goons. BUYER BEWARE It's not 5 star jewelry. Anyone can see that. These are not 5 star materials. She refuses to post her credentials online because she doesn't have any. Their conduct and lack of professionalism speaks for itself. Nothing 5 star about it. I've literally seen scores and scores of complaints about this vender and have happily written many of the. And will happily write more. They may be creeping on my facebook page but they are just con artists from a thousand miles away with 15 fake 5 star reviews.

Facebook virtually never allows comments to be deleted from commercial accounts. When they do there's very good reason for it. That's why bad comments on Facebook reviews usually persist despite the embarrassment they cause the commercial enterprise. Facebook deleted Craig Hingley's libellous comments on BeeBee Design Studio's site because he's a known hate terrorist who has been stalking the owner of BeeBee Design Studio for years, long before she created her commercial account. The real conman is Craig Hingley himself, a loser who lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is everything you'd expect a troll to be, jobless, living in impoverished circumstances on Canadian Government welfare, full of hate for many people. Hingley, 53, is a loser, and like so many losers he is a self-loathing nonentity with too much time in his hands.

Please be aware that Mr. Craig Hingley has never bought any product from me, nor has he ever contacted me for any reason regarding my business. Mr. Hingley is obsessed with a few of the sexual assault survivors I work with in my spare time, including Bill Cosby's victims, and this is his way of lashing out at me for supporting them. He has been doing this for about three years now. I have attached screenshots to show you the various fake accounts he's created to write fake libelous reviews of my business with the intent of harming me financially. All of his fake accounts have been reported and removed by Facebook, as have his fake and libelous reviews. I have also attached screenshots of some of his comments on social media that demonstrate his sick views toward women and rape survivors. Etsy google lookup

When I typed in what to buy a 4 year old into the google search, Images came up at the top to scroll through for toys and while sliding pictures of toys to the left there was a dirta santa underwear with the red nose sticking up of a snowman on mens underwear from Etsy. I feel like this image shouldn't be right in the middle of where you are trying to find things for a 4 year old. That it needs to be moved so its not in between finding childrens toys because it seems like an adult type of thing

Etsy Avoid them and stay safe

I would recommend you to avoid ordering from this website.
First of all, if something bad happens, they have no proper protection for customers. They are interested in money, so don't think they will resolve your issue, it's not what they do there.
Second, I was shocked and frustrated when I received the ordered item. I looked different and nothing like the photo on the website. The biggest scam in my life. Oh, by the way, the customer service representative said that shipping back is impossible. What was the reason? She said nothing. And hung up. So professional.
It was my last time dealing with them. Absolutely terrible.

Etsy no buyers protection at all

I got a broken order. Requested the refund, but the seller said it wasn't her fault, so there will be no refund, sorry. I called their customer service and they said they can't help me, it's not their responsibility. I wrote the truth about this seller under her advertising posts and she said he would sue me for this. Ok, I will sue you back for broken things you've sent. After that she refunded. But my account was blocked because I had to complain to them. I did, but they were useless. Oh well, blocked means blocked, not a big deal.
Stay away. Never use them and be happy. Take care.

I AM TIRED of ETSY SELLERS GETTING AWAY WITH THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR AND WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. The same thing happened to me. I want to get a class action suit going. Are you interested? IF so, contact me at skyerivers@gmail.com.

I contacted a seller who does pouches. She shared she does custom orders. I shared with her that I needed pouches sewn different sizes to fit glass figurines snug. She said no problem and seemed nice and trusting. I gave her my measurements for each pouch numerous times. FYI I have been having custom made pouches manufactured for over twenty years, and I used her for her ability to embroider on them. I was very clear what I needed. She sent me back pouches that were all the same size that she currently sells on her Etsy page which I told her from the start would never work for my gift.

After going back and forth, with pouches not fitting properly, I wanted a refund. I had to fight for it, but finally got all of it except $65 of it of which Pay Pal finally refunded to me because she was so deceitful and they had enough. Pay Pal told me to keep the product, but I told them I didn't want it and wanted her to have it back, but I would not be paying for shipping. The seller knew this but accused me of lying saying Pay Pal never said that which was not true. With that $65 she didn't have to refund me, I told her I am not spending anymore time and money on this and send me a call tag to get her pouches back. She then accused me of stealing them.

She has lied to Pay Pal and Etsy about what happened stating I gave her the wrong measurements, but how could that be when she didn't change the size of any of the pouches, leaving them either too big or too small because they were not made to fit these small glass figurines. I contacted Etsy, and they were no help. I was horrified. She is calling me a thief saying she made a police report against me LOL, then stating now she has contacted a collection agency on 'me' for keeping her products which would cost $15.00 to send back, and refuses. They are ugly and the ones I asked for a specific image came out horrendously. I don't want them. I had someone else make me pouches since then and her's are just sitting in a box. She cost me time and money and when I wrote a review on her page, her response was full of lies, and then there was no place on that review to dispute her claim.

I feel Etsy should not continue to get away with this type of behavior towards their customers and we should be protected like any other company would. If you are interested, contact me and I am looking into a class action suit. This is insane.

Etsy etsy is a joke

People who write complaints against Etsy are right. There's absolutely no protection for customers. Sellers behave the way they want. They can't cheat, loot, steal money, send wrong products. I got a damaged item and couldn't contact the seller. Why would he answer when he already got my money? Very convenient.
Use other services if you want to shop online.

Good God Skye Rivers how many lies can you put in one place. You stole my items and never paid for them They were made to your exact specs. Because you can't measure correctly isn't my fault.I have never had a complaint about any of my workmanship in 15 years of doing this.

Etsy shut my shop down for no reason, and holding my funds for more than 5 months.

I have been selling on ebay for 10years, my mother suggested that i try etsy. Oh boy what a mistake. They shut my shop down, said i violated some policies, and ignored my emails when i was asking my my funds will be transferred into my checking account. They have no phone number to call on the site, so you have to contact them through email. When you write them they never get back to you. This is a poor excuse of a site, they are talking about integrity, but clearly they are lacking it.

I was charged fees for the listings that they canceled, and they refused to refund my money. Also now, someone just got back to me stating that my funds will be available in my bank account january 31st, 2018. We are now on august 9th, 2017. Are they crazy? i have to wait that long to get my money for the items i sold on their site. This is clearly an injustice, people need their funds, we are all trying to make a living.

Some action needs to be taken against them, they need to be stopped. I read several other complaints for the same reason, they are targeting us for no reason, and that is not fair.

Etsy shipsurance

Shipsurance is a huge SCAM. They will take your money and run fast. If you ever give your money to these thieving [censor], and then have to file a claim, you'll see what it like to get screwed big time. Emma ( the rude old lady in the claims dept.) is going to make you feel like the biggest fool. She is going to make you waste your time jumping thru an endless number of ridiculous hoops. After a month or two you will finally give up. And that is exactly what she is counting on. Before pissing your money away with Shipsurance, consider spending it wisely on the best boxes and packaging supplies that you can find. Over pack your items. Then just pray that your item makes it to your customer in one piece. If your shipment gets lost or damaged, [censor]surance is not going to give you one single penny.
