Ethiopian Airlines Flight

My experience with Ethiopian Airline was unbelievable. Our flight was scheduled for 10:15pm. We boarded the plane and wasn't given instruction to exit the plane until 2:00am. They informed us that there was something wrong with the plane. They then told us that we would be taken to a hotel and rescheduled. We sat in the lobby for hours with no communication. They did not have the rooms prepared or paid for. It is now the next day and we still don't know when our flight is scheduled. We have missed our connecting flight and our initial agenda. Wasted money, wasted time, and we were placed in danger in the process. Extremely dissatisfied

Ethiopian Airlines Unceremonious change of ticket schedule

Reference FIOPXJ

I received an email that was blocked for my response. However, I called the airline 3 times using the UK number which averaged 30 minutes waiting before I get an answer. I spoke to Eleni, Kidist and Meron, none of them have an aota of customer service in their vocabulary, very unprofessional and rude.

After receiving your email instructing a schedule change. Instead I requested for a destination change to Johannesburg instead of Harare on the same date. But that appeared to your colleagues as a big inconvenience to the entire fleet of Ethiopian airlines.

Kidist lied to me as she promised me a supervisor would call after 30- 50 minutes as they were in a meeting. I called after 2:30 mins and had to wait for another 30 minutes but she hanged up on me without any help offered.

I am seeking for your immediate response before it messes up my itinerary. All I am asking from you is a pleasant flight to Johannesburg instead of Harare

Ethiopian Airlines delays

I had a connection in Addis Abbeba flight ET628 to Bangkok at 09/03 at 23:55, the flight was transfered to 6 am, what was a big problem to me because the meeting I had in Bangkok at Saturday afternoon had to be posponed and a lot of miscommunication and problem that I had after that, let me very disappointed With Ethiopian Airlines, below I will describe all my loses:
- appointment with a client in Bangkok had to be posponed
- difficult attendance at the ticket window at the company. They were doing priority for business customers, after had traveled 12 hours from Brazil, really any kind of distinction is really not far.
- after to get be attended and received the voucher for the hotel, they informed me to pass imigration and ask for a company employee how to go to the hotel.
- At the immigration desk, the official didn't agree with the ticket that I had received for the new flight and told me if I could wait 6 hours at the airport!? I answered: "what?"
-passing the immigration I was obliged to find by myself the transfer to the hotel, in a really without information place, with a lot of people chasing me where I was going, a big mess. After to understand I was alone and should let me down I inform to one guy the hotel I wanted to go and he called to the transfer.
- at next day I arrived at the airport at 4:15 am, and went to the gate was informed in my ticket and the access to get in it was not opened yet. I went to take information, they said would be opened at 5am, I thought strange coz my flight was planned to start boarding at 5:15am. It was 5:45 and the entrance was not opened yet, lot of people waiting, nobody informed anything and at 6am they told us the gate was changed from 3 to 20, in the other side of the airport. Great!
- we took off around 7:30 means 1, 5 hours was planned
- at flight I ordered gluten free meal and the crew woman gave tonme the meal gluten free and 2 breads with gluten, if I didn't have noticed that looking for the meal of my neighbor I had ate gluten and have had healthy problems.

After all the unfortunates I mentioned above, I ask a financial compensation which one is provided by law of 500 euros.

Ethiopian Airlines delay and cancellation of a flight. extremely bad customer service

My name is Marvin Stefanus Ndeshipanda, i am a Namibian. On the 14th August 2017 i started my trip with Ethiopian Airlines from Windhoek at 13:35 with the final destination in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, on the 15th at 19h10. With Ethiopian Airlines, after our departure from Windhoek we had two stopovers, one in Addis Ababa (flight number ET834) and another one in Bamako (flight number ET909) since our final destination with Ehtiopain Airlines was in Dakar, Senegal, on the 15th August, as you can see from the electronic ticket that i am sending in attachment. I had a connection flight on that same day, the 15th into Bissau, with ASKY airline. Since the flight from Ethiopian Airlines was delayed in Bamako, i missed my connection flight to Bissau on that day. Since ASKY only flew into Bissau on Friday, the 18th August, i had to stay in Dakar for almost 3 days, just to wait for that connection flight that it was suggested by Ehtiopian Airlines.
On the 18th August, Friday i had my flight at 18h10 in order to reach Bissau at 19h10. Once i reached the airport in Dakar, the ASKY crew told me that i could not get into the plane, i could not fly with them because my ticket was not booked, which should be a responsability from Ethiopian Airlines. After this i tried to go into Ethiopian Airline office in Dakar airport, it was closed, my wife that is living in Bissau tried to call many, many times to your office in Dakar and nobody picked up the phone. Since Ethiopian Airline could not assure anymore my stay in Dakar, i had to find an alternative to reach Bissau, going through land, which took more 24 hours. Instead of arrving in Bissau on the 15th August, Tuesday, as scheduled, i arrived on Saturday, the 19th August in the night, which is something that i cannot endure and accept, as you can understand.
This is the reason why, i am writing this complaint letter to explain the all situation, so that Ethiopian Airline can take this responsability and also to request for a refund for the flight that i lost from Dakar to Bissau on the 18th August, because of Ethiopian Airline, as well as a financial compensation for the extra trip that i had to take in order to reach Bissau through land.

Ethiopian Airlines flight disruption

Ethiopian Airlines Connecting flights 'failure to issue boarding pass

On 7th May 2017 i checked in from miri flight MH 2585 'to KL then supposed to be on to Douala west Africa flight ET 619 / ET 915 via Ethiopian airlines' My luggage was checked in 'all the way through to Douala 'but i was informed 'i had to collect my ticket for the connecting flights at the transfer desk '
once i arrived in KL i had approx 45 mins to get to the gate in the satellite building 'at the transfer desk the lady there informed me after a phone conversation with Ethiopian airlines rep 'that she couldn't give me my boarding pass and need to go to Level 5 counter L (Ethiopian airlines check in desk)to get the boarding pass.Once i arrived there 'the counter was closed 'one very unhelpful lady was there 'spending more time on her phone than actually trying to assisting me 'said nothing she could do 'and go to the baggage counter to collect my bag'
after 2 hrs of complaints with different Malaysian airlines personnel 'i finally got assistance from the information desk (at 12.30 am)
having managed to contact Ethiopian airlines rep 'who told me Malaysian airlines '
1 = failed to contact Ethiopian airlines to get the boarding passes ready
2= the transfer desk person 'i later found out 'spoke to the Ethiopian rep 45 mins before the gate shut and advised her to send me to the satellite building where my boarding passes would be issued 'which she failed to follow the instructions and send me to the main departure hall instead
3= nobody helped or assisted me with getting to the satellite building 'basically left on your own

so basically i was told the next flight was in 24hrs and had to re book '
this is now at 02.30am
having then seen the duty manager (jeffery) he told me the flight connection were to close '
but as mentioned before i checked in in miri 5 hrs in advance 'only needed my boarding passes 'why they couldn't give to me 'is the 64'000 dollar question 'when my baggage was checked all the way through '

so i missed me connections flights '
which in turn i missed my crew change
which in turn my project is on hold 'until i arrive 'which my clients art very happy with '

i got a hotel room and taxi to and from KLIA from Malaysian airlines

very disappointed in the way all this was dealt with 'from the lady at the transfer desk 'who obviously isn't trained and not a clue 'of procedures to the check in person in miri 'who didn't assist with contacting Ethiopian airline to help to get boarding passes ready

Ethiopian Airlines Unethical behaviour at Check-in counter (Mumbai Airport)

Dear Sir/Madam
My grandmother (aged 76), unable to read and write, was due to fly on 27/02/2016, flight ET611 at 5:15 am from Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport, Mumbai, to Bole Airport, Addis Ababa. However she was stopped at the check-in counters as the supervisor in charge requested for a visa receipt. The visa receipt requested is the receipt that is required in exchange for my grandmothers passport which included her relative visa and was applied for and received at the relative home affairs office. If we had not submitted the receipt, she would have not received her passport in order to fly. So how is it possible for my grandmother to have such a receipt in her position?
I spoke to the supervisor over the call and told him I have the appointment letter and receipt for the payment made for the relative visa and he had asked me to email the mentioned documents to a relevant email address.
Thereafter after receiving the emails, the supervisor on duty refused to view his emails and then stated that the issue is not with the documents but rather with her ticket. My grandmothers ticket was valid in all aspects.
The supervisor on duty made my grandmother, who is a wheelchair passenger, step aside stating that there were too many passenger waiting in the queue. He was very rude, unfriendly and not helpful at all and he made every effort to ensure that my grandmother does not board the flight by asking her for irrelevant information and documentation and wasting time. Due to this, I suffered a loss with regards to the ticket and am now required to purchase another ticket for my grandmother. I would highly appreciate it if this unfortunate and shameful incident is investigated and addressed with the airport and the relevant supervisor. May I please request for a response as soon as possible so that my grandmother does not face such difficulties in the future.

Ethiopian Airlines Cheating/Fraud

Sir,
1. My name is Mahesh Dutt Sharma and I am working in Goma (DRC). I travelled using Ethiopian Airlines from Kigali to Mumbai via Addis Ababa on 22 Feb 10. My booking ref No is YTQLUX. ET 810 flight was delayed and missed the connecting flight from Addis Ababa ET 610. All passengers were accommodated in Addis for one day. My hotel voucher was not endorsed for making one free call from the hotel.

2. I was having onward booking from Mumbai to Delhi in SpiceJet (ZZSPDH) on 23 Feb 10. This ticket was shown to Ethiopian Airlines Manager at Addis airport. She confirmed me that they will do the onward booking for me for next day. Accepting and believing her words I had not done my onward booking. Next day just before the flight, I was handed over compensation voucher and one printed paper ticket confirming my onward ticket from Mumbai to Delhi in SpiceJet flight SG114.

3. On arrival at Mumbai, when I approached the Spice Jet counter they informed me that no such booking exists. This is pure cheating and fraudulent act by the Ethiopian Airlines. I was stranded alone at Mumbai airport. Ethiopian Airlines staff at Mumbai airport initially refused to meet me. After repeated call for more than 40 minutes Mr. Naren informed me that staff at Addis Ababa airport has done cheating with you as they can not book seats in low fare airlines by any means. I lost full amount and booked the new flight in very high rate.

Ethiopian Airlines Wheel Chair Not Provided

The Manager,

On January 12, 2010, I used Ethiopian Airlines to travel back to Bombay, India. My Mother, Sister and I were booked on the flights ET873 to Addis Ababa and ET610 to Bombay, India.

I had booked my tickets in Bombay via an agent and requested for a wheel chair for my mother during transits, since she is a patient of pulmonary hypertension and cannot walk much (Not even on boarding and off boarding from the plane).

Upon arrival at the Addis Ababa airport at approximately 8:25PM on January 12, 2010, we were supposed to take the connecting flight to Bombay (ET610), we discovered that the personnel refused to give us a wheel chair. He asked me for medical papers and wanted a proof for requesting the wheel chair. Is the Ethiopian crew so dumb, that they ask for a Medical Proofs? Even after the same is clearly mentioned on the boarding pass? My Mother’s boarding pass clearly mentioned “VGML WCHRE” and the same was shown to the crew member. Are ill passengers required to carry medical papers on vacation?

Sadly, my mother had to walk the entire route and board the ET610 Airplane. I tried approaching the ground staff of Cloud 9 as well, after I had been waiting for several minutes, I had to explain my problem to her several times because she did not seem to be listening and therefore asked me the same questions repeatedly, however she offered us no further explanations and stated “All I can do is let you in first”. Is this the kind of customer service your staff provides? How will it help an ill person if you let her in first? The problem here was not getting in first, but walking to the plane. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated.

From our experience, this situation was a dramatic letdown from the superlative service that we usually receive from Ethiopian Airlines.

I expected a much higher level of service from your Airlines, and I am very disappointed. I will be informing my friends and family about this experience and even post it on some blogs.

If I don't hear from you, I will report you to the appropriate regulatory agencies.

Ethiopian Airlines Deboarded from the flight and missing luggage

Denied flight after being issued a boarding pass and luggage was shifted without my knowledge. I am holding the boarding pass and also the pir form of my missing luggage.

Don't get me wrong! I am confident on the airline crew knowledge and capacity. But guess what? Customers don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. The cabin crew lack professionalism has no work ethics and definitely no clue about customer service at all. I am sorry to say it but the cabin crew, especially the captains are super egotistical, inflated and honestly I don't even know what they think about themselves. The way they carry themselves is so sad and pathetic. They need to come down and has to understand that their salary comes from the passengers that have been tolerating their ignorant behavior. They need to know that their dumb attitude is so embarrassing not only to one of the great organization in the nation but also to country because unfortunately they are carrying the flag wherever they go. I wonder if they even take ethics and professionalism as a course, if they do, may be it needs s to be revised and strengthened. CHANGE! CHANGE! CHANGE! and get matured please.

I HAD THE SAME EXPERIENC ETHIOPIAN AIRLINES IS THE WORST AIRLINE I HAVE FLOWN. ON DECEMBER FIRST 2009 I SHOWED UP ONE MUNITE LATE FOR FINAL BOARDING. THE CAPTAIN DENIED ME BOARDING. THE PLANE SAT AT THE LOADING POSITION FOR OVER 30 MINUTES AFTER I WAS DENIED. THESE PEOPLE WHO RUN ETHIOPIAN TOO STUPID TO RUN AN AIRLINE AND ARE SICK. THIS AIRLINE SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL EXPENSE.
