eTeacherHebrew hebrew online course

Since 2011 I was thinking and planning to start to learn Hebrew. Happens that my first daughter born and I had to change plans, for good of course. So, finally, this year, on 16th September I decided to enroll in this course. I'm from Brazil, but the course is online and provided by an Israeli company. The sales pitch from the attendant was perfect, explained to me that, because of the Rosh Hashanah, I would have a 70% scholarship on the course. I subscribed to the course and the deal was an enrollment payment plus 7 payments in a total amount of R$1200 (one thousand two hundred Brazilian reais - something like $300 USD). But the dream becomes a nightmare. When I made my access to the online dashboard to check the course, the course I was on was not the one with Live Teacher, but a self-paced course. I contacted them and explained that I understood that I was buying the course with a live teacher. This happened on the next day, less than 24 hours. They said they would listen to the conversations and would give me a reply ASAP. 11 days since that talk and today they decided that I bought the right course, and, if I desire to cancel, they would retain 30% of the full amount "because I was canceling after 24 hours". This is more than disrespectful. The delay of 11 days to answer me benefits the company? Shame. Disappointed and frustrated with something that should have been a great experience. They charged me despite I have contacted them before the first 24hrs.

eTeacherHebrew scam

They use sneaky practices to make you buy such as pressure. The way they treat customers and the way they talk to them leaves much to be desired.
And if they ask for your credit card details (and they will surely ask) you have to hang up the phone and never talk to them again.
Be careful when dealing with them. Or, preferably, just stay away and never never never deal with these scammers!

eTeacherHebrew Complaint resolved successfully

I would just like to report that eTeacher contacted me and after reviewing thier telephone records and ascertaining that the sales person had, in fact, quoted me in Rands, I was given a full refund. The money was deposited into my account this morning. The staff that I dealt with were sincerey apologetic.

eTeacher, thank you for your efficiency and speed in resolving this issue.

eTeacherHebrew Customer service, cheating in services

I would reccomend to be very careful of eTeacherHebrew and NEVER to trust them! They sell products and "packages", the prices differ in spoken and written form, even in 80 USS. - When purchased the Ulpan, they cheated with the original price and their "reduction", in written offer were different numbers, when offered by phone they said again different prices and in the "bill" there was again different price. - Offered number of lessons was different from number of lessons when applied. Noone in customer service spoke about vacations. I got offer for 1 year of lessons, in real they shortened it crazily to 8 months, plus they added vacations. - There was no term of proper level, so I had to wait 2 months for the term of study program. When "recruited", they promised the possibility anytime to change to different term of the same level, according to my time possibilities. When the term was scheduled (in 2 months), I got info that there is no other terms and new ones will be scheduled in other crazy time. After these 2 months changed my time possibilities, thats why I couldnt participate in the lessons (except of once), so after another 6 weeks I got reccomendation to go to new terms they got, with "extra" price for me, that was more that half of original price. - Ordered product Yanshuv started to be sent properly, but I never got any information about "vacation" when it will not be sent, for this I had always to call few times and the answer I got only after 4 phonecalls. When they stopped sending again, I wrote to them and explained which number I got as the last one and required to get the missing numbers. The answer I got from them was ... request for explaining which numbers are missing ... Even as extra Im getting now spam e-mails how they are transfering this info to different department... - Ordered product Babylon - I never got the direct link to download the program, when you go through the page of the producer, you download just the free version, still with warning of few antiviruses, that its a infected item ! I didnt get any licence number and password. When I informed eTeachers, so they always complained that its different department etc. Only after many phonecalls I got information that I should "create my own licence number and password", to send it to them and they will program it. Never heard bigger nonsense, they obviously are trying even to affect my privacy. From purchase to getting the licence data it took 2 months ! - The system of eTeachers is very bad - when they send e-mails, often you dont get any e-mail from them. I have few proves and evidences, when they sent me e-mails from their system and I didnt get it at all, or just in 6-7 hours. When they sent me the same e-mails from their private e-mails, I got them immediatelly. One of customer service representants was all the time very arogantly insisting that they sent me few times and I received the e-mails for sure. When I asked her who is she to try to accuse me from lying, she behaved even worse, so I had to start to shout at her and I called her the liar and cheater, as the whole company. - Customer service is very non-professional, lying and mostly arrogant. You can NEVER trust what they say, they are ALWAYS CHEATING and LYING ! - They dont respect anything and anyone and seems to be that they dont use the brain. When they call, always from different numbers (New York, Paris, Tel Aviv, Riga, Montpellier, hidden number) - does it give the sense to call once and when not answered to call immediatelly again ? Most probably if the customer cant answer, he will not be able to answer 5 seconds later ? And to call 20 times a day ? - They always call even on Shabbat. When I informed them few times that it is not ok, they informed me that it will not happen again, they wrote it to system - LIARS ! - they called on shabbatot again and even on High Holidays (15 - 20 times a day !) - this is crazy arrogancy and CHUTZPA ! - Having such experiences, in the end (after few months) I refused to answer their phonecalls and wrote them I dont allow them to contact me via phone anymore, just via e-mail, because they always lie and I want to have written prove. No answer and in few days they called me again few times. I dont know, but according to my information, when you take back the right to call to someones phone, in Czech Republic (where Im from) and Israel (and I guess also in USA) is prohibited to harass the people. - They never solve the problem, on everything they write that they did whatever they needed to do in order to reach me but they couldn't... Nonsense. When they cant reach a person, they just should write and thats all. If I would call them, anyway they have no info for me and they always just mixing facts, you never get to the same person and they always say they will call you. Im working hard so I cant wait whole day long for some cheater to call me whenever he/she just has time. - I was their customers already few years ago. I was very satisfied with the teacher and with their services. Then they started to be very business oriented and started to cheat. Never sent the e-mails, never got from them any information about lessons and they charged my credit card even if they werent allowed. When I complained, they never reacted or they started to attack me that everything is my fault. Stopped to contact them. Since I got information that everything changed in their system and they spread the info about new owners etc., I went into this again - but as I can see, the things became even worse and eTeachers became eTreachers, one big scam. - This time will demand my money back and I will not let them to steal anymore. Even if it will take me long time and a lot of work with my bank and card providers like Visa and MasterCard. Wandering what eTeachers will do when both of those companies will rate them as non-reliable partner ? My reccomendation ? STAY AWAY FROM THEM !

eTeacherHebrew Deceitful, high pressure sales tactics, failure to disclose cancellation policy, not competent

I am familiar with the ancient semitic languages and wanted to perfect my grammar and practice. I requested a call and got another high sales pitch from a woman who came across as friendly and more honest than previous sales reps. But still, I was stunned to find I was being tricked again.

it's my fault for trusting the eTeacherHebrew sales tactics because I had a hugely expensive and deceitful experience three years ago. But I had been told that they're changed their customer service staff who were now supposedly more honest and competent. Big mistake.

eTeacherHebrew claims to teach bibical Hebrew and Aramaic, but they do NOT. They teach everything with a modern Hebrew accent and pronunciation which is not even based on older Hebrew, less yet authentic Biblical Hebrew or Aramaic. Modern Hebrew is heavily influenced Germanic-French traits and it was invented by Europeans to make it easy to learn quickly. It's a dumbed down version of older Hebrew (not even as far back as Biblical).

Do not be deceived. Do NOT give them a credit card number or you will be out of luck until you've changed your credit card number and ensured your credit card company rejects their efforts to keep billing you.

This company may have a few good people as teachers but even they do not know whether or not they've been taught true ancient or biblical hebrew.

The way they promote themselves at eTeacherHebrew is very tempting. But do not be tricked. Ultimately, the only thing they're competent to teach is modern Hebrew but you can often get that for free online or for a very small fee and you are likely to get a far better learning experience with more honest offers online. Do not fall for the eTeacherHebrew trap.

eTeacherHebrew Online Hebrew Courses

Last year my wife took a course from eTeacher Group entitled “Hebrew A”. This was last year. I paid for the class and ordered material that she received. She had no problem with that class. Earlier this year, she signed up for what she thought was “Hebrew B”. We paid for the course. My Discover credit card was charged $599.50 USD for the class. This was on 11 May 2015. But when she logged on to take the course, She found out that she was in the Hebrew A class again. She called eTeacher and was told that she would get a refund, they would take care of everything, and she could take Hebrew B next term. We have not been reimbursed the $599.50 for the class. We were also charged for two different material orders, each costing $599 USD. This charge was also made on 11 May 2015. WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY MATERIALS and she did not take the class as she was not notified of it. Yet, the two charges of $599 remain. When we first saw these charges we tried to call eTeacher twice but did not receive a call back. Fearing that we were being ignored, we contacted Discover and disputed the charges. Two charges were temporarily reversed as they were in dispute. We lost the dispute because eTeacher said we received the course and the materials. That was not correct, as we did not any materials. As stated, it was agreed my wife could take the later and we did NOT receive any materials. The charges were again put against us on the card. We received one returned phone call from eTeacher saying that WE won the appeal. We did not win the appeal, eTeacher did. The reason I believe we lost is that eTeacher wrongly is asserting that she was sent the materials and took the course. Of course, neither are true. If materials were send, that could be verified by eTeacher simply providing a shipping confirmation, which there is none. After several attempts as working with eTeacher using phone calls and email, there was no reply other than two more calls from someone saying that would get back with us in a month. Nobody has. It appears that is the typical method of eTeacher's operation. Again, I need to assert, my wife did not receive any materials for which I was charged on 11 May 2015. I also assert, and eTeacher has acknowledged to us, that they would “take care of this”, reverse the charges for the course, and she could take the course next term. So far, the charges have not been reversed. I have an email from eTeacher from back in August saying they would be back in touch with us. They haven't. We are owed $1, 797.50 USD for the course and the materials. We have advised everyone we can at our church of this issue and at least one person that we know of was considering eTeacher courses, but is not because what we have gone through. We have called, written, contacted the credit card company, even wrote the Israeli complaints board. But we are here in the USA, they are in Israel, and we are out a lot of money. Beware of this company.

Oh and BTW eTeacher has created a contract because they have taken your money. According to their own terms and conditions (which is heavily weighted in their favour without giving them any obligations) if you cancel up to two weeks before the start of the first scheduled lesson you are entitled to a 75% refund. As it would appear that your course is not due to start until September then you are entitled to a 75% refund of the course fee. You can, therefore, take legal advice although as eTeacher is based in Israel you would need to travel to Israel in order to make a claim through the Israeli Small Claims Court and this would require you to have a very good working knowledge of Modern Hebrew. Here is the link to their contract http://legal.eteachergroup.com/legal/terms/course which I suspect that any capable lawyer would be able to ride a coach and horses through as it is the worst contract I have ever seen and places no obligations whatsoever on the first party to it i.e. eTeacher.

Go to your MP who should be able to help you. If your bank card is Visa then Visa needs to be alerted worldwide as to this company's unlawful operations and an MP is the best person to start with. You are not the first customer who has been treated like this and an international investigation needs to get under way. Not sure if you can send me a PM through this Forum, if not you should be able to do so through Facebook. I am going to try to get together as many people who have been robbed by eTeacher as possible and take a group action against them in Israel. They owe me £699.00 and like you I was a returning customer. This would not, of course, get your money back immediately but a group action would be one way to move against them and it would mean that everyone would not have to go to Israel and appear in Court. And eTeacher would have to pay all legal costs as they would lose!

Avialable - £2.43 My bank balance cleared in the Monday morning, currency is english pounds. The Eteacher Group take from my personal account. The no signed paper agreement as perhaps with any of other Students, or notification been recieved in regards the fee that ETeacher Group charge.
Vorobyev Ilya contacted me during the weekend and hold the phone for about 2-3 seconds, I presume to collect the payments. I advise him previously the no finances available in July and August. I have 2 children and other household responsibilities. This is absolutely disgraceful and never experienced such a crime. This action is out of any secure data protection, legal and human rights. I live in UK for 10 years and here this action will be describe as a scam. I have my bank on the phone today and ETeacher Group will be added to the list as potencial scammer and further payments will be block and rejected.
I can't even have the legal advice, there is no agreement between me and ETeacher Group Ltd. I have receive email from Vorobyev Ilya on the 2nd Agust where her's "advised" me not to contact him any more as court action will be start against me very soon, in regards to debt collection. Please advise your bank and have legal agreement with ETeacher Group Ltd. to protect your self from situation like this.

eTeacherHebrew Online Hebrew Lessons

I was completely SCAMMED by ETEACHER. They are set up to BE a scam company which is why my credit card company's hands were tied. ETEACHER not only scammed me, and I not only didn't receive my hebrew lessons (they placed me the 4th level with 1 other student and I never learned hebrew before. This was their way of giving me nothing and charging me anyway). When I tried to get on the correct level, they wanted to charge me $450 more dollars when I already paid almost $1000! Therefore, I ended up with NO course at all! When I tried to dispute the charge, instead of the originally agreed monthly fee of paying less than $100 per month, they threw on an unauthorized charge of almost $1000, paying for the whole course at once! Remember, I received NOTHING for the money! STAY AWAY from this horrifying company. They are ALL about lies, deceit and thievery.

eteachergroup.com-Hebrew, they are real thief and scammer, I had been through a lot, still my student profile there can't deactivate can't do any thing, sent email is wasted time, wrong answered, excused, charge another fees, making me sending email again, every different person call- giving me another option they wanted, asking me same personal information, , they some how tricking me, got me confused to saying yes and later i checked bank statement?they took money out, ... When I called they never answer I been paid three time different amounts, I was mistaken for sign it.. their system is making keep pay, never cancel, --but if want cancel, cancellation fee as whole course, year even didn't take class even couldn't log in, . I had to close my bank account. If some one still out there interesting this please do not answer phone or sign it.. do not involve online with representative, do not giving any email or phone information ...

I tried to improve me Hebrew wit the dream to study once at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Because the "eteachergroup" claimed to be associated wit the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the had immediately my trust! But their selling practices are horrible! They start to put you from the beginning under pressure and push you to agree and claim their offer. They give you discount to say yes. And then they are asking for your credit card. Then they immediately cash the money. But they did not send me once an e-mail (which they have in my contact form) since 5 days now. That is more than odd.
But after becoming doubting and finding this "fraud comments" I knew that this is not a good sign and I am not the only one who is betrayed! Yes, I was a fool to trust, now the money is gone and I have now contract in my hand and if they can write whatever they want to! But this business has to be. I urge all of you to also write to the "true" Hebrew University of Jerusalem" and ask them if the knew of that practices of the "eteachers group LTD" and if they can stay behind their that kind of practice / fraud! or if that rather damages their business?

eTeacherHebrew harrassment

I was called by Eteacher, but not told that was who they were. Instead the sales rep said they were through Hebrew College, which they do have classes through, but is not the one I was being spoken to about, and they are not Hebrew College. She refused to let me see the contract first because of 'time'. After signing up and receiving the email and contract I realized it was Eteacher, not Hebrew College, and immediately began the cancellation process. I followed all required procedures in the contract. On top of that, anticipating an issue, I froze my credit card and got a new one so no new charges could be made. I kept calling and no one answered in customer service and when i got ahold of tech they wanted to transfer me so I emailed to have a record and told tech support that they needed to put the message in and email. I received an email recognizing my decision to cancel. The next week they contacted me. I told them I wanted a refund. The sales rep agreed but tried to convince me to continue. I said call me in 2 weeks to discuss. From the issues I see other people had online I was concerned no would mean no refund. After receiving the refund I talked to the sales rep again and explained I'm currently not interested. Even after repeating he, different than first one, continued to push "i would lose sale price if I keep cancellation." Without my consent, instead of emailing me confirming cancellation, he emailed stating I would be following with the new contract. None of my emails stating I would not be picking up a new contract were answered or even acknowledged. When asked for a time to call I stated not before 10am and almost every day for 2 weeks they have called between 8:30 and 9am. I have since spoken once more to the rep stating to leave me alone and I had canceled and had no interest in restarting. In responce he emailed me a bill with a threat of legal action. No lawyer or legal info in the email, showing me it was merely scare tactics. The next day I was called again, I rejected it, and received an email stating they wished to discuss the course I'm enrolled in, which I am not. At this point they are harrassing me and instead of listening to the customer are following the pursue until defeat tactic, which doesn't work. I lived in Israel for a year and am not swayed, more than anyone is by a reg salesperson. Scare tactics don't work. They have lied by saying "we can see you've opened the emails" to emails I've never received, which can't be seen unless they have special technology or hack my personal email. I had not received any email stating the start of a class, which I was not supposed to be signed up for, which they tried to use to convince me to pay. Plus giving random dates for when I cancelled and not acknowledging the emails. When I brought them up he stated I needed a vocal cancelation via phone, which is NOT stated in the contract, nor any email. THEY ARE A SCAM STAY AWAY.

eTeacherHebrew They didn't reply and told to wait, but they didn't provide any info

People, don’t give the card info to the staff from the website www.eteacherhebrew.com. They took money for the language course, but after that they told to wait and provided some confirmation info. I waited several hours, but nothing. After that I contacted the rep and asked to provide any news or tell me about the courses. No news and no one replied. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Let’s share views about this website.

eTeacherHebrew Ripoff

Eteacher group is a ripoff. They told me what I wanted ot hear just ot get me to sign up. I wanted ot learn Ashkenazi the rep said no problem we have teachers that teach Ashkenazi. The teacher taught in Sephardi. Called and started with another teacher, still Sephardi. Called in again and got a third teacher, still Sephardi. Called again told rep I felt like I was given bad information and signed up under false pretenses as class not Ashkenazi. The rep instantly charges the balance due to my credit card without my permission. Discussing this matter with Eteacher was a waste of time as they were going to do nothing. My only recourse was to dispute with the bank. I ended up taking 2 classes that cost me over $300.00
I do not recommend doing business with this company as if you search you can find lots of complaints about Eteacher charging without permission. Their business practices are terrible.

Why do you want to learn Ashkenazi when Hebrew nowadays is spoken Sepahrdic way, try to be modern my friend.

eTeacherHebrew Shady thieves

After being sweet talked by a pushy persistent sales rep who failed to mention some rather important info about the products terms and conditions, and told untruths about the product, I unfortunately agreed to a self teach program with this very shady Israeli company.
Once the payment was taken, the email stated that if I wish to cancel within certain time scales (1 month being the longest) I would only be reimbursed a fraction of what I had paid. Surely this should have been mentioned by the sales rep before purchasing. Also there was no free trial period to see if it was actually any good. Let me tell you it was terrible! The self teach videos are slow loading, jump, randomly skip, freeze, and sometime just dont load at all. The "teacher" in the video is patronising and talks at you as if you are 2 years old. Not what I would expect from an adult learning product.
After approx 3 weeks of attempted use I finally decided the product was very poor, and definately not worth the price that was paid for it!
This is where the fun begins, when trying to contact etachers so called customer service department, the phone rings forever and no one ever answers! So we tried to call the sales line, and got an answer straight away. I tried to explain the problems and issues, but the sales team, just told me to call customer service, to which I told them that nobody ever answers. they then tried to transfer me and cut me off. This is eteachers customer service favourite trick, they say "hold on, let me put you through" leave you on hold forever then cut you off after a message "sorry there has been an error".
Then, when you get through, the staff are unhelpful, unapologetic, and poorly trained and do all they can to get you off the phone.
They tried to tell me that it was my internet connection, when I asked them the speed required to run their stream player, the guy in tech told me minimum 2.5mps... my connection was running at almost 6mps.
They refuse to refund the full cost of the poor product, they do not attempt to satisfactorily resolve issues. All they are interested in is getting your money!
When trying to get a refund full or partial, they told me numberous times that someone will call you today, or, someone will call you tomorrow, to which nobody ever did, they make you chase them in the cat and mouse game of cutting you off. keeping you on hold, transfering you to wrong departments, or transfering you to people who know noting about your case, and the problems you have. Trust me... you will be doing yourself a favour by steering well clear of this bunch of cowboys!

All reviews initially looked ok. like i said their are lots and lots of very suspicious reviews online.

All product info should be placed before you by the salesperson before they execute the sale. No thankq... you wouldnt happen to be based in Ramat gan would you? there are some very suspicious reviews for this company
